I am a freshman in high school and I have had friends on and off since I was little. I will go through all of my friends (since I was about 10), without putting real names, so that you can better answer my question. I had a friend named HI who used to go to my church. She had stopped going but we were still friends. And then she became gay. You should know I am a Christian so I think it is wrong. So I keep my distance even when we are going to the same high school (now). I didn't stop being friends with her, though, but we are not as close as we used to be. I never see her anymore. We still keep in touch though. I had another friend named MH who was great friends with me and my sister but we grew apart over time. She was too busy for us. I had another friend named HN who was really nice and we were great friends until her Mom got upset with mine, and that was the end of our friendship. About a year later I happened to be in the same middle school class with her, but she didn't even acknowledge that we were once friends. I have a friend right now whose name is SA who is nice but uses her computer a lot when we are over and she doesn't pay very much attention to us. We have a good relationship now though. Another friend I still have, SH, is a great friend. She would never do anything to hurt me and we have been friends forever. I have another friend whose name is MY. I have known her for about 2 years. She went to middle school with me for 2 years. We are in separate high schools and hanging out has been really hard for us. When I was walking into lunch (at school), this girl behind me was putting paper in my hair. I turned around to her, and her friend grinned and then said "You re Lizzie, right?" And I nodded and he said to best her up. In a playful way, obviously. I just ignored them. (They are somewhat popular kids.) This is a really stupid question, but I just want to know if that was something like bullying. I have never been bullied and I wasn t just wondering if that I should sort of like it. This girl never talks to me and her friend doesn t either, but they also have never been rude to me. (There may have been a time when her friend, the boy, was recording me or something. His camera was pointed at me or near me one time in the lunchroom but I have no idea if it was me he was doing it to. Or if he even was recording/taking a picture.)

One of my friends from high school asked me to be her maid of honor in her June 2018 wedding. We've maintained a long distance friendship, and while I still value our relationship, I've made lots of other connections throughout the past 5 years and don't necessarily consider her my closest friend. The reason I'm hesitating attending her wedding is that I will have the opportunity to live and work in Spain from October-June of 2018. There is a friend of mine who i've tried to help for the longest time but it's where he doesn't even attempt to put an effort in himself. Hes 23 year sold, terrible social skills, a borderline alcoholic to where he doesn't drink everyday but when he does he drinks until he is completely wasted and turns into an angry drunk to only to people smaller than him or females, has no ambition to do anything with his life, and an unrealistic view of the world to where if he complains enough things will magically get better for him with no effort on his part. I've been friends with him since my teens and to be honest he had it rough back then from being bullied and not fitting in but since he's an adult he needs to man up and stop whining and go out and do something. He will act like a total asshole to people, brag about how "assertive" he is and then cry about nobody liking him, complain about being broke but refusing to get a job, or complain about how about his family hates him because he "calls them out on their bullshit" which really means not giving him free money he didn't earn. I have tried getting him a job, he showed up for an hour and left because " he didn't like people telling him what to do", I've tried introducing him to other people in my friendgroup and he ends up pissing everyone off, and even helped him write an essay to get into community college and he didn't turn it in because he was "stressed out from his mom's attitude". update At first I felt sympathy for him because I have dealt with depression to the point of considering taking my own life at one point. He gets bummed out and will come over and literally cry for hours over the things I mentioned before but will still act like a bum and a jerk anyway after it and always expect me to take his side and or give him free rides or let him mooch **** off me because of his "mood". It came to the point where I told him to stop complaining and do something about it. He flipped out and ran out of the door in tears and his little sister called me and told me he was balling his eyes out. I mean there is nothing wrong with a man crying but holy ****. It's like the dude is my girlfriend or something. Am I a bad friend for this?

So a couple of times I was a real jerk to my friend. I bullied her and it crushed me when I realized that I was such a bad friend. So I tried to make up and she accepted my apology. But It didn t make me feel less of a jerk. She sometimes unintentionally brings stuff up about it making me feel worse, and I always think I deserve it. But I want to tell her to not try and bring it up but I m afraid to. I don t want to try and warp the problem and make me the victim. Which is not at all true.

Hey, so I'm home alone some, and I get awfully bored. My friends are assholes and when I asked them to hang out they're like, 'sorry, can't, grounded...' then I see them hanging out with someone outside. So, I get bored. And she was telling me how shes different than all her friends, and she has always been a laidback reserved, quiet girl...And I said, "wow, i wish all girls were like that".... and i havent heard from her since. I'm a guy. My sister and I have this friend, we are 18 and 21 our friend is 17. We have known him for 10 years. Me and my sister and our parents had to move states 8 years ago, we finally moved back to the same state as our friend 2 months ago. During those 8 years we have stayed in contact with him over social media and over phone. My sister and I have hung out with him 4 times since being back in the same state. Honestly, me and my sister like him as a friend. After knowing him since we were all very young he is like a sibling to us, a close friend. A couple weeks ago, my friend and I got into a fight and are still fighting. We tell each other secrets and talk on Gmail like normal friends do. One day, my friend and I were talking on Gmail and she told me she got a 90 on her writing quiz. I told her that was great and she did a good job. My friend and I have a group of friends that we talk in. So, after class that day, my friends and I met up and talked about our grades on the quiz. I told them my other friend got a 90. My friend kept giving me dirty looks for the rest of the conversation. She was mad at me because I told them she got a 90. I explained to her that she didn't tell me that she didn't want them to know, so I didn't know not to tell them, and that a 90 was good, so it shouldn't be a big deal. She just rolled her eyes and walked away. Later, she messaged me on Gmail, saying that I was a bad friend for sharing her information. She called me names and insults. At one point, she started calling my crush insults too. That's when I lost it and became overly outraged, messaging her back insults ten times worse than hers. The whole thing turned into a Gmail war of just insulting each other and roasting each other. Now, every time she sees me in the halls, she makes a face or rolls her eyes, and ever since the fight, both of us have been refusing to apologize to each other. I think the rest of the group is getting annoyed by it, so I want this to end ASAP. Am I the bad guy or is she, and who should apologize first?

My girlfriend's upset about a friend (who she was really close to) basically ditching her for another friend, then coming back to her when that other person got a boyfriend. She's telling her they're best friends, but posts stuff online about the her and the other friend being best friends as well, so it's obviously both messing with my girlfriend's head and upsetting her that she's being taken for granted. I'm a two hour drive away from where she is so I can only text her and I've been trying to cheer her up and talk to her, but nothing seems to be working. A girl that I have feelings for likes my best friend and this same situation happened when both my friend and I were sophomores in highschool(we're nearing 20 now). When this happened my friend noticed that I distanced myself from him and the girl. I wasn't sad about it. I am fourteen and the teacher in her mid twenties (rather not give exact age) and we are both females. We've always had a good connection and I feel like she is a better friend to me than my own (people my age) I've always gravitates towards more mature people and she is always there for me to talk to. I was gone over the weekend, and my roommate had friends over, that's usually not a problem, but when I came back, my phone charger was gone. I have two, one I keep with me, and one I keep in my room, so I am able to charge my phone. But I am really bothered by this because I am certain one of her friends stole it. She apologized and said she would text her friends about it. It's been a few days and she hasn't been answering my texts about it. I don't feel I should go buy a new one, because well I shouldn't have to pay for it. If her friends don't fess up or give it back, she said she would replace it but she's the kind of person that would just buy me a crappy charger from Walmart. Mine was from the apple store, so I am expecting an apple one in return (if she doesn't get my original charger back). It's frustrating me a lot, I literally just want my charger back. I just started 9th grade and unfortunately one on F my best friends made her way into my class, she's not really my best friend, but I pretend. I always am expected to do what she wants, and she gets annoyed if I do something else, I have other friends and I try to avoid her, but since she's in the same class as me it's impossible. My first week, she told me about a group work page on Facebook and pulled out her phone to get my facebook. Her eyes were like really lit up, smiling a bit, and that friend she was with turned around to look at me. She has looked over at me after kissing/hugging her bf (who she loves). I'm a high school kid and I've gotten bullied in the past because I didn't have any friends and I have autism. I'm still not popular or anything and I don't have very many friends at school. I have a best friend who is 20 and she doesn't completely exclude me or make fun of me when I don't want to be made fun of. Our parents are fine with us hanging out since we're both female and it's not a sexual kind of friendship. Inside the mall there is a California pizza kitchen and I assumed she meant there so I texted her like where are you and she s at a different pizza parlor outside of the mall which peeved me because now it s like we are meeting AT THE MALL not outside the mall + next door and she said it was splitting hairs.. w/e O found her and she ordered a gross pizza and decided to pay for it herself so I ordered a cider but my friend and I got to talking and asked the waiter to come back later so I got lost a bit and assumed I ordered but it was getting late and no sign of a waiter (my friend mentioned she was getting anxious) so finally the waiter comes over and is ready to take an order so my friend began to order FOR ME and I abruptly stopped her and was like "no I m fine" (per my friend mentioning she was ready to go) I would ve felt uncomfortable waiting on my food and eating a burger knowing my friend wanted to go shopping+ it was getting late. She said I was rude for abruptly interrupting her.. Was I?

My childhood friend (my parents' friend's 14 year old daughter) has been bullied since 6th grade. She's on the autistic spectrum and I know she won't fully understand or she thinks I'm someone who's simply bossy. But I'm 20 now and I've experienced high school. She wants to start drama with the "popular kids" and I'm guessing all those hurt feelings have been piling up inside her. The thing is, if she messes with a group of kids who think they're superior, they might hurt her emotionally or physically. There's at least 2,000 or more students between the grades 8-12 at her school in one big building. It's like a wild zoo because kids are not always supervised during break times, and they just basically do whatever they want in the hallways. We had a discussion about these girls and I'm not the only person who's had it with her - her teachers have talked to her about her struggles, other kids, and the school counselor. I know this is just all teenage drama and it won't last forever, but it might cause her damage if she does something that those girls wouldn't like and it will start going back and forth.

Growing up as a child I've had so many friends, I like to consider myself a good person and a true friend (that's what people tell me as well) but I still have the worst luck with friendships. People talk behind my back all the time, even though I don't bother anyone. I'm in my third year of college now and as an adult I can care less about what people say but c'mon, everyone needs a friend! I've literally only made a few close friends in college, most of them transferred. I've tried keeping positive vibes and joining clubs, but no one wants to talk to me. So I moved into an apartment with a friend I met through one of my club activities and I am starting to seriously regret it. Although I actually like the person as a friend they are far from what I d want from a roommate. They have terrible friends that are constantly causing issues for her, like getting him fired from jobs and constantly borrowing his car for days on end.
