Question: Professor/Engineer wedding invitation? Posted: 23 Feb 2017 07:23 PM PST We are doing wedding invitations and we want to put the titles of our dads. One is a university professor and the other is an engineer. What are the professional titles to put BEFORE our dads' names on the wedding invitation? Thanks! |

Question: Nicest Way to Decline Bachelorette Party Invite? Posted: 23 Feb 2017 05:51 PM PST Hi, I received an invite to bachelorette party in another city and can't afford the hotel plus drinks. I don't want to hurt the bride's feelings especially since I can't make the wedding. What would be the nicest way to decline the invitation to the bachelorette party? Thanks! |
Question: Whats the difference between a contemporary and traditional wedding? Posted: 23 Feb 2017 05:45 PM PST My boyfriend and I was having that little joking conversation and he asked me "If we were to last long enough and get married in our lives would you want a traditional or contemporary wedding....or would you want to elope?" My question is....whats the difference between a contemporary and traditional? |

Question: My parents scheduled a vow renewal 2 days before our wedding? Posted: 23 Feb 2017 04:18 PM PST So, my wife and I have had our wedding day set for months, considering we are getting married on the 13th of March. Upon going to see my parents, they promptly brought up that they spoke with someone about a vow renewal, and decided to have theirs done on the 11th of March. My wife and I are both pretty thick skinned, but it seems my parents scheduling a 27 year vow renewal got under our skin, especially since it is 2 days before both of first marriages. Are we overreacting given the stress and nerves that are associated with our wedding being in 19 days, or do we have the right to feel somewhat angry and as if they are taking away from our big day? |
Question: Whose initial goes first in a traditional monogram? Posted: 23 Feb 2017 03:53 PM PST I know for weddings its the brides that goes first, but for regular things you want to monogram, like towels, does the mans initial go first? |
Question: When should i go apartment hunting? Posted: 23 Feb 2017 11:07 AM PST My boyfriend and I want to move in together. I have a part time job currently that pays $11.20 an hour for 20-25 hours a week. I recently passed interviews for a full time job that pays $16 an hour and its 5 days a week 6am to 2:15pm and filled out my new hire paperwork. Just need to do sex offender check(not one would never) fingerprinting (never got arrested)and TB and Hepatitis B check to make sure I don't have that which I know I dont because i had it checked when i volunteered in a nursing home. My boyfriend has a job that is 20 hours for $11.25 an hour plus he is getting a full time job that starts with paid training at $15 an hour for school safety agent. We both have good credit. He has a credit card, i have a credit card. I was thinking of moving in November or December. Apartment i looked at on the complex website is rent stabilized and includes heat, water, and gas. We both dont drive so no gas money or car payments we take the city bus which is luckily near the apartment complex. Is November/December too early to start thinking about moving? |
Question: At a wedding reception, does the DJ typically play music during cocktail hour and dinner? Posted: 23 Feb 2017 10:04 AM PST We have a 5 and 1/2 hour reception package (1 hour of "cocktail hour", 1 and 1/2 hour dinner, and the rest for dancing/party). When should I have the DJ arrive and begin playing. How late do they play? Is it the DJ that announces the couple when they arrive? I'm new at all of this! :) |
Posted: 23 Feb 2017 10:01 AM PST A friend asked me to be a bridal attendant. Her wedding is soon, and it's really too late to back out if it's not necessary. My worry is that I'm picking up information that makes me question the wedding itself. Specifically, I'm afraid that the wedding is going to include giving away the bride. Is it still ok for me to stand in a wedding if something that I disapprove of so strongly happens? And for those who are unfamiliar with the custom: at the beginning of the wedding, the officiant asks "Who gives this woman to be married'. The parents then consent to the wedding. This has been banned in many churches (for obvious reasons), but some don't like imposing restrictions like that, and it still gets done some places. |
Question: Physics Help! On your wedding day..? Posted: 23 Feb 2017 09:09 AM PST On your wedding day you leave for the church 24 minutes before the ceremony is to begin, which should be plenty of time since the church is only 11.0 miles aways. On the way, however, you have to make an unanticipated stop for construction work on the road. As a result, your average speed for the first 12 minutes is only 5.0 mi/hr. What average speed do you need for the rest of the trip to get you to the church on time? |
Question: Should my boyfriend and I match? Posted: 23 Feb 2017 08:41 AM PST My boyfriend and I are going to two weddings in the next few weeks. I have never been to a wedding with a date, so I don't know the protocol on matching. For the first wedding, I am wearing a black dress with some purple and white accents. I know its dark for a spring wedding, but the wedding is in a week and I won't have time to go shopping. He was planning on buying a black suit because he doesn't have one and black would be most universal. Should we attempt to get a tie that matches, or just have him wear whatever he has? |
Question: Is a honeymoon really necessary? Posted: 23 Feb 2017 06:39 AM PST And why should it be so expensive? Why not do a honeymoon at home? |

Question: Family Wedding Away or Home Event? Posted: 18 Feb 2017 12:04 AM PST My cousin is getting married in a few months, he is one of my favorite cousins and Godfather to my son. Which is very important to me and him. I feel we are very close. He asked for my help on the ring choice, ideas on how to pop the question and even told me the night before he asked her. However when I spoke to my cousin shortly the engagement was announced I said I wanted all the wedding plans etc. Being a guy he only gave me a few and said he still had a groomsman to ask and it was probably going to be another cousin of ours, husband. But that was not set in stone. However since then we have heard nothing from him regarding the wedding. Honestly I thought he was teasing me and was going to ask my husband or my son (his godson) to be that "groomsman" he was going to ask. We received the Save the Date in the mail. Still no word from the groom. So I have to presume at this point no one from my little family will be asked. Since then my son has been asked to participate in an event in our town for the same day. Cousins wedding 12 hours away and we will have to get hotel etc. Which is my husband or son were asked to be in wedding we would have had to pay for so it's not a deciding factor. |
