Question: Shouldn't they use formal names in church? Posted: 24 Feb 2017 03:55 PM PST A couple is getting married and the groom's name is Samuel but goes by Sam. All the invitations etc. say Sam on them, and I think it would be more respectful/formal to use the full name in this type of ceremony. This applies to weddings, funerals, christenings, etc. Sam uel not Sam, Michael not Mike, Joshua not Josh, etc. |
Question: How long do weddings typically last? Posted: 24 Feb 2017 09:18 AM PST From the start of the ceremony to the end of the reception. Just curious. :D |
Question: How much am I supposed to tip wedding vendors? Posted: 24 Feb 2017 09:11 AM PST How much should I tip for each vendor or should I have to - I do feel their services are all quite expensive and most of them have not been that great. Getting married soon. Thank you. String quartet playing 1 hr for $600 Makeup/hair artist $360 for 3 people Photography $3200 (Photographer and assistant cover the wedding and did an engagement session) The photography has been underwhelming with few good pictures, and the photographer has been hard to reach. Banquet/Wedding Coordinator (more of a Day of coordinator) DJ/MC team $150/hr (they have been behind schedule in helping me) Officiant $350 for services and counseling - he kind of acted like a diva and was more preferential and respectful to my fiance. Chair Covers vendor - do we have to tip him? He was actually pretty good compared to the rest of the vendors. Thank you, this is a very confusing time for me. I appreciate your suggestions. |
Question: Bride's witness, does it have to be a female? or could it be a male of 18 years and older? Posted: 24 Feb 2017 09:08 AM PST I know people say groom's best man and bride's maid, but if you are getting married in court does the bride have to have a female witness or could it be a male witness? |
Question: Men's Wedding Ring: Left Hand or Right Hand? Posted: 24 Feb 2017 08:40 AM PST Some men wear the wedding ring on the left hand while others wear it on the right hand? Is it simply a matter of personal preference or is there some significance between one hand or the other? |

Posted: 24 Feb 2017 07:51 AM PST Anglea said that since she is pregnant she is worried about money we have been friend since 4th grade I supported her over the years by buying baby shower gifts kids bday gifts she was also in another wedding 6 months ago and our friends wedding 2 years ago she already gave birth recently and the wedding is 5 months away. I honestly feel really hurt she said she didn t have the money I had picked inexpensive dresses from David s bridal and feel so sad and angry that she d do this to me Now she keeps posting about adding in a new kitchen I honestly feel betrayed. Like she isn t a true friend She and her husband both work and have money I honestly feel like crying Any advice ? |

Question: Who typically hosts the bridal shower? Posted: 24 Feb 2017 05:46 AM PST So my soon to be mother-in-law and sister-in-law offered to host my bridal shower. When my mom got wind of this her feeling were totally hurt because she wanted to host my shower, however, she really isn't in the financial position to do so. I told her that I am going to have my MIL and SIL host the shower and that my mom can have a brunch the day after the shower (thought that would be a lot less expensive). Am I being insensitive? |
Posted: 24 Feb 2017 05:19 AM PST I was asked to be the witness of my best friend's wedding and I have totally no objections to that. She knew I will be on holiday on that weekday and that her and her husbands' parents will not be free to put a signature on the certificate. They have previously had a traditional wedding a couple of weeks ago. My question is, what does it take to be a marriage registration witness? Do you have to know them personally? How do the authorities prove that? What are the legal implications here? If they get divorce someday, I will be called upon to witness the divorce again? Could anyone shed me some lights here? I am in Malaysia by the way. Thanks. |
