We have a couple mutual friends, who I feel like are hinting to me that he likes me - one always asks me "have you seen (guy)?" or says hey "(guy) was just talking about you - he says you got the fellowship!" & the other once said "(guy) REALLY likes you" Every time I see him, we hug each other, the conversation flows really easily, &idk I just get the vibe that he likes me too but then I doubt myself bc of the gf situation I moved across the country for grad school 2 years ago, & since then, every year he fb messages me to say happy bday, asks me how I've been, tells me something about himself, & then we have a conversation for a few hours, even though he can clearly see that hundreds of other people wrote on my wall instead of private messaging me. She wants to move to Vancouver, Washington which is just north of Portland. He is throwing a fit because it is to far. I ve told her that he is being unreasonable and she doesn t believe me. I went and googled it to make sure I wasn t being crazy. I found the farthest route that I could so i could have the worst case situation. My results, the farthest that he would have to drive to come see her is 24.6 miles with an expect travel time of 34 min. Is or isn t he being unreasonable? This would normally be such a big deal to me but she is best friend and she has a history of dating guys who end up pushing her around, take advantage of her and treat her like ****. She has a daughter to worry about and I don t want herself in over her head for a guy like that. |

She was really shy at first, not really talking to me but Id catch her looking at me every now and then. It was really slow one night, and she came up and started a conversation. Ever since, weve talked and goofed around every time weve worked together. We have great chemistry, we make each other laugh and are comfortable around each other. Night before last (Thursday) we got off at 11pm. It was 40 degrees F outside and she was gonna take the bus. I told her no way, Ill give you a ride. She eagerly took the offer and we didnt stop talking the whole way. I thought it was great, some real 1 on 1 time. The next day, we were working kinda far from each other, so no conversation but we kept making faces across the store and laughing at each other. She was scheduled to leave several hours before me, so I wrote my number on a piece of paper, along with a little funny note, and went through her checkout line to get my lunch. I handed her the note and told her that if she ever needed anything, she could call or text me anytime. She took it, saying awe thank you so much, and put it in her pocket. I wasnt expecting a text the minute she got off but its now Saturday, I kinda expected something by now. Maybe Im just a work friend and have been misinterpreting her body language and signals? So yes, I missed out on all of the childhood moments. I missed out on the first kiss, the wild nights, the trips, everything... I always feel like a third wheel. I just hang out with my cousin or my uncle mostly if not recently they've both been asking if they want them to find me a boyfriend, suggesting lame guys (in their opinion) but claim I'm not the same. I've always said no, but I still go home crying because I know what happens when I try to date. A guy might like me for a while but once they get to know me they change their minds and want nothing more than to leave them alone. Abusive spouses have been a better option than me, nothing has been better than me. I'm tired of the bullshit cycle and I know my social awkwardness makes it so that nearly everything about relationships has to be explained to me, something no man has time for. My family gets mad when I tell them no one special was meant to be with me it would happen but it hasn't, I'm not still young and should just have hope because I'm aware that I can barely keep friendships up without screwing up let alone a intimate one. My issue is accepting it and NOT breaking apart when people start the jokes and questions about me being single and not dating or trying.
