So get this i'm a student and i live with family. I live under my uncles house, Needles to say he lets me live rent free but i have to buy food, house accesories, pay the tv bill etc. I however don't have to pay has and electricity. This month dude decided to go shopping with his gas and electricity money so yes he wasted it. He then came up to me talking about if i can pay for ir $650 mind you and it was overdue. I luckily had money saved up but it's not fair what he did. However the gas and electric company won't care of what happened in our house they would simply cut off the services. So yes i was forced to pay. The point is when i snapped my uncle looked at me with some eyes as in "wow you really snapped after living under my roof rent free" type of look. I can tell he felt bad and said he would pay me back when he has the money. Did i do the right thing or should i have kept my mouth shut and pay up since i too live under his roof???? i felt taken advantage off as in he knew he had the back up which was me.

My grandfather's family are, to say the least, an odd lot. Years ago, as he was growing up, they were quite poor but he and his brother's did very well through some fairly shady dealing and by the time his children were born, my mother included, they were well off; I tell you this so that any "immorality comes from poverty" theorists are catered for. When I say moral squalor here, I mean a propensity to the most coarse, base and insane behaviours. I mean causing trouble between oblivious friends because they think that it's funny, mocking anyone who evinces anything of any refinement (even including reading sometimes), throwing themselves into graves during funerals because it will make a scene (I'm not kidding). When I talk to my grandmother about it, she who married into my grandfather's family, she talks about how awful they've been to have been married into and she thinks that there's some kind of undiagnosed genetic insanity. My only difficulty with that is that they don't seem rationally impaired, if anything, they're a highly intelligent family. I understand that this is a rather weird post but any helpful thoughts would be gratefully received!

Like I know I'm considered an adult but I don't feel like one at all. I'm a college junior, just got my first credit card and I'm just wild and reckless. When my dad was 21 I was just conceived so its kind of weird thinking about this lol

I've had eczema on my face since I was a baby. It got so bad that my skin got scarred, so I have dark patches on my eye lids and between my top lip and nose. Ive lived with it and been fine, but then my mom started calling me names like gorilla, ugly, disgusting, embarrassing ***** etc. I must have been 9. Since then I have had extremely low self esteem and low confidence. No one else has mentioned my eczema, only her. She caused all. How do I tell her, what do I do? If I tell her she will get mad. She gets mad when I say anything about my appearance but she caused me to feel this way

My parents are sending me to therapy because they found out I was on birth control. They're very conservative Christians and they've found a conservative Christian counselor. They think I need mental help because of my "disrespect" issues. Can they force me to do this if I'm not a minor?

My mother just had a surgery for her medial meniscus tear and so she'll be out of commission for two weeks, She and I were the only ones who did the cooking,cleaning tending to the pets,shopping. While my older brother and father spent all day on the computer, ps4. I can't clean the whole house,cook dinner do all the laundry and care for the pets by myself when their are still two healthy men that can help. But their lazy the only chores they do have I've started doing I've fixed broken appliances, I've taken out the trash. How do I get them to help in any way?

My 15-year-old is basically a good and responsible girl. She has never had problems at schools and after-school activities. But she has some stubbornness in her personality. For example, she doesn't wear properly in winter even if we're located in Ontario. She thinks "wearing too much clothes is not cool" As REQUESTED (she had been complaining her hands/ feet were always cold), I took her to 2 different doctors, and the both said that she has Raynaud syndrome. The only advice to her is; "keep your body warm" This is common sense. I made her write a note: "I will take all responsibility to take care of my Raynaud disease and wear proper clothes." (because it won't go away anyways...) But she still keeps her own dress code. Like today with max temp. is 4℃(feel like 1) She came home from school with "not real winter jacket but lither jacket" "open chest" "thinner leggings" "flat shoes" "no mitts (or prefers cotton gloves)" Of course her chest and hands were very cold like ice!! I don't know how to deal with this... In fact I did upgrade a nicer winter jacket and mitts for her. In fact I did upgrade a nicer winter jacket and mitts for her.

So I ve been having a lot of issues with my mother in law over the past 10 years! Just to give you a back story she has 4 kids with 4 different dads and all her kids got taken away! So my kids Dad doesn t care for his mom at all my mother-in-law! So he tells me for her not to see them! I know she is a changed person and has been there for me and my kids for the last 10 years!! I feel as which she uses my kids to make up for her mistakes with her own kids!! Even though she tries my mot-in-aw and I cannot see eye-to-eye on a lot of things! We fight at least once a week and I know she doesn t like me but she tolerates me to be around her grandkids! She is good to my kids and I know she wants to see them but I can t deal with her anymore! I don t know how to go about this anymore to do visitation how for her to see them without having to see me!! I guess I m just looking for some advice on this situation! The fights are getting so bad that I ve told her you re never going to see your grandkids again but that s only because I m mad and she talks about my parenting and which she shouldn t be talking about anybody s parenting when she wasn t a parent herself! So I guess there s a lot of anger on my end.....any advice would help at this point!! Thanks

I'm 20 years old living 6 hours away, and about to graduate college. I pay my own rent, food, school, but my parents help with my car insurance and cell phone. I think I'm fairly independent yet my mother still wants to track me on gps, and wants to know my every move. I've tried to talk to her about it but she just gets upset and pulls the "mom card". I know she loves me but this isnt this just a bit insane? I was a great kid and have never done anything to make her feel like she needs to hover over me. What can I do or tell her to make her back off and let me do my own thing?

I can't disown her because then I would never see my dad and siblings again and they still see her. I've cut back from her and only see her at holidays and family occasions. Even in death she is a narcissist for example when my grandfather on my dad side of the family died she did not offer us any sympathy or any comfort she made the death all about her and how she had nursed him and how she did not get a thank you from anybody. God help me with what she's gonna do when her dad dies as her dad is now I'll with Alzheimer's

Hi everyone! I'm just wondering if it would be considered disrespectful to visit a stranger's grave? Recently there was a girl my age who was murdered and she was buried around here (the cemetery and everything was listed in her obituary). All of her family lives down south and they've since returned back home. I was thinking about maybe going and placing flowers on her grave...or just visiting really quickly, but I don't know if that'd be overstepping boundaries. Like I said, I never knew her, but she's from the area, and I was considering just visiting her grave so that it's not forgotten since her family won't be visiting since they don't live here. Hi Um, I was looking for a bit of advice. I'm 16 and my friend has invited me over for some pancakes. The problem is my mum is a bit over protective. A perfect example of this would be when my mum decided to let me go to the park on my own, and then ended up freaking out because she couldn't find me. Fair enough, you may say, however we had agreed to meet at a local bridge and she seemed to 'forget this'. Also, (because we were walking through a park) there was a (pet) dog barking, my mum, hating dogs ordered me home and 'grounded' me because I was apparently 'playing' with stray dogs that have rabies. Can I add I live in the UK? And I've never seen a dog on the streets over where I live before, ever. So, I really want to explore the local area we both know well, and I ALWAYS have my phone on me. I want her to let me go, but I know if she says no I might get upset, and I don't want to upset her cos I'll never be able to leave the house again! Any ideas??? (Mum knows my friend, and knows she is sensible)

I feel as if I'm trapped in my relationship. It's a bad unhealthy one. & I have a 7 month old baby with this person no where else to live. I don't want to live with him. I don't want to be with him. I don't even want him around me and my baby everyday but he's his dad. I feel like I have no family to run to or friends. This is our second time being evicted because of him. I am a college student taking 19 hours this semester to graduate this semester and work 18 hours a week for the college. I spend a majority of my time at the school. I do not drive or have a car and live close to the college. My mother pays my rent because even with my job i can not afford my rent for here. She said the only way she will help with rent is if i live here. Now suddenly she is giving me an ultimatum. I have 6 months to find a real job and start paying $300 a month or I can move in with her and her boyfriend or my dad. I have not lived at home in almost 3 years. I currently live with my boyfriend. My paychecks now are barely $300 a month as I can not work much with school. My mother expects me to find a full time job right away. She has made rude comments in front of family, friends, and strangers about me needing a full time job, needing to learn to drive, and needing to pay towards my rent to embarrass me. It has gotten to the point that sometimes I do not even want to talk to her because it is hurtful. If I try to talk to her she will get mad and hold over my head that she pays my rent and she paid for my ex roommates rent that moved out and stuck us with her rent which i have no control over. I know I need to get my license and after i graduate that i will need to find a full time job, but what do i do until then?

I have been left in my mother's house with a mentally disabled brother for 10 months since she passed away. My cousin gets his social security payment. She pays the electric and sends me $500 a month. My cousin connects with my brothers social worker. The social worker must have said refrigerator is rather empty. My cousin called me last night and asked about food. I tell her I am getting what he wants. My cousin asks me what I do with the $500. I tell her he likes to get to a restaurant twice a week and I still pay water and trash bill. With a house there are extra expenses. One time the refrigerator wasn't working and another time I got a hole in the ceiling drywall patched and each time it was $150. My cousin appears to be getting suspicions of me. She talks like she may need to see receipts of what I get or stop sending payment. I don't like how she feels $500 a month is a lot. Should I be concerned about my cousins reaction to me or just know that I am using the money fairly?

So for the past 20 years, my family consisting of 4 siblings, 8 uncles, 7 aunts and 24 cousins with also my grandparents go to a small place in Ireland called Castle Gregory in County Kerry in Ireland. Its a tradition that we go every year. It's small but to us it's paradise. I then realise that's I'm 15 years old, and I will be going to my 15th vacation and it hit me, I am getting to old for this. Every year we do horse back riding, the aquarium, the beach and the sand dunes. I am getting to old for this stuff and I found this out when my sister and my older cousin were hanging out with me and the subject came up in which my cousin who with me and him are like best friends, was talking to my sister and she says you should not be going anymore you're 17, your too old like me. It then hit me I don't have that much time left until every one I hang out with there will no longer go and soon I will no longer go. I am a socially shy kid, what do I do over the summer in which we go to Kerry. I'm now at the time where I have tests and I have to study. My paradise and salvation is almost over. How do I cope

I have a pre-teen with ADHD who is also borderline Autistic. She really wants to walk to the bus stop alone every morning. She has no friends to walk with. Her stop is 2 blocks away and one of the intersections has a "2-way" stop so drivers never look before blasting right through. I walked her this morning, and she ran right out in front of a car even though I yelled "car!!!!!" She is 12 and tells me I "embarrass" her by walking her. I even let her go stand alone but still watch. She is angry with me and comes home every day telling me I need to stop babying her. However, she honestly can't cross the street. Next year, she has no bus and needs to walk half a mile. I will drive her every day and she told me she won't "put up with it". She doesn't even understand car=danger how many times I tell her. For example she tells people that I'm used by relatives of hers when in reality I'm happy to help them out. Another example is an accountant of hers got her brother mixed up with a cousin of hers and so she told people that her brother had had an affair when he had not ever it was the cousin that did that. Another example is she used to tell me that my grandfather did not love me because he can't love anybody because of alcoholism when in reality he did love us. Unfortunately it causes my image of my mother to be her as a disgusting person when she's otherwise a good mother.

Me, my mom and my older brother live together. I have two other brothers who live abroad and who have money. My older brother was saying "They never send me money." We live as middle class but other person is closer to rich people's money. But with three of us living together, it's usually me who pays the most bills. Then it's mom who pays the rest of the bill. Brother spends his money with food, he's kids and other stuff he needs. He's not even helping us with the small money he's getting so why would he expect he's brother's to help him out. Should I ask him question on what if he was in the other two brother's position where he had the money they have, would he give them money?

Is this fair? I just want to know if anyone else thinks that this scenario is fair and what I can do or if anyone else was in a similar situation what they did. Well my husband and I have 2 girls one 4 years old and the other 4 months old. We asked my mother in law if she could drive to our house just one day a week, she would pick the day to watch the kids and spend time with them while I can get a day in at work since I substitute teach and I can set my own schedule. Well she said no because we live too far. We live exactly 43 minutes door to door from her house and the unfair part comes into play because she drives 26 minutes to her other sons house and watches their 2 kids 2-3 times a week and also cleans their house, does laundry, vacuums, and etc. And another thing I want to add is that she used to date someone that lived 1 hour and 37 minutes away from her and she used to drive to his house every weekend for a few years until they split up. I just want to know am I right to feel that this is unfair or am I exaggerating? And I m beginning to think my 4 year old is noticin that she spends more with her cousins and that s hurtful and makes me feel sad. Thank you

If you can help me on my future it will make things better, I don't have Anyone but myself at this point any help would be appreciated.I make 2000 a month, But my bills overcome lots of it, Since I had no credit history and I'm under 21 my car note and insurance rates are really high. My bills come out to be 1020 a month, that includes care note, insurance, and phone bills. That doesnt include gas, and food. No spending habits, very smart with my money. Was wondering If I could make it on my own in either an apartment or single home, no I have no kids. I am currently living in my car with food, clothes, and used back seats with blanket to sleep. So any advice would help. Now why I got kicked out was a dispute with her boyfriend and a disagreement, that I am staying to my word. She loves the guy he pays bills and treats her right but disrespectful to the kids she have, threatful statements like these aren't my kids, I can leave whenever, you won't find no one else like me, calling her out her name things like that which I don't tolerate. His friends was over and he seemed to be showing out, he got disrespectful, bumped me without saying excuse me, telling me to move. Then when I dont he gets in my face showing out getting big an bad, I told him to step back and talk it out, but out of my personal space, he refused so I told him to step outside if you won't, and we settle there, but he just wants to yell and make scene, but my future is important any help would be nice.

Question: What does having a guilty conscious mean?

my mom was yelling at my little brother to do stuff but she didn't specify and i thought she was talking to me. i yelled back at her and she walked in and told me i have a "guilty conscious". what is that?

My mother and I aren't on the best terms I would say.She and my father have been going on and off for as long as I have lived.My father and I aren't talking for almost a year now,beacuse of this huge fight we had.(He wanted to read my text's because he was bored,I didn't let him so he threw and broke my phone,beat me up and threw me out of the house.I was alone in some alley when my aunt and besftiend came for me),So My mom really loves my older brother,and now my dad and mom are back together,and decided to ground my brother because he admitted that he was smoking,cut off all his allowances,and they decided to do the same for me, because whatever my brother does wrong I'm in that **** with him,but whatever i do wrong I'm in it alone.I asked them why am I being punished,they said because.So in two days I was supposed to get out of being grounded(a month has passed)My mom let my brother out of punishment,but not mw using the exuse I didn't help her during dinner yesterday with my little brother and sister(they're one and three years old).I just want this to end, it's really influencing on my mental health.

Question: I don't want to go to this camp but my dad makes me go. How do I persuade him to not make me go?

So this is my first question I have asked here so please forgive me if I mess up anything. My dad makes me go to this camp every year and every year I plead with him to not make me go. Each yeah I end up going. I want to know how to persuade him not to let me go. I don't want to go because it makes me feel uncomfortable and it tends to bring out my fears. It's not a fear of missing my parents, it's something else. It's like being with strangers. You don't know who they are and you have to be with them for 3 days. My dad would counter with get to know them but I know that they would never treat as a friend. Anyways should I try to use logic and reason along with the reasons why I don't want to go? I really don't want to go so thank you for any information or advice.

Question: Its it really irrational to be pissed at my dad for letting my mom die?

My dad told me that he knew that she was doing well for a very long time, and she was sitting in the chair instead of laying down to sleep. I thought she was sitting in the chair because she liked it better.. I was a kid then. Then when my mom get even more sick I HAD TO call the ambulance because she could barely breathe. I HAD TO CALL THEM multiple times because my dad was literally was going to let her sit there and die!!!!!!!! To this very day I hate him. He yelled at my mom everyday even when she was not sick.

Question: My Mom threatens me to cut off my penis, what do I do to make her stop?

i am 17 now but still my mom always yelling and complaining about my work, but she is not so harsh with my older sister, she hardly gets happy what ever i do, though sometimes she threats me to SPANK me like she would be doing some year back, and most freaking, she sometimes YELL like mad on me saying, she would CUT OFF my penis !!! if i do this wrong !! this makes my sister laugh on me, i do not know why she yell me like this, and if she is normal otherwise she would not threat me to cut my penis !

My mom takes over protective to a whole new level when it comes to me. I'm 16 and she won't let me go anywhere without her being right next to me holding my hand. She's told me she does this for our own good but she isn't letting me live like a normal teenage girl. I'm doing online school so I can't even go to school to socialize. My mom is wayy too paranoid thanks to the internet. She thinks that if I separate from her for a minute I will get kidnapped and killed. I go out of my house maybe once every two weeks. Not kidding. When I go to the store with her I ask if I can go to the next aisle and she will not let me because she thinks somebody will kidnap me. I can never go out with a friend because my mom gets scared something will happen to me. I get kinda sad when I see other girls my age driving,working and going out because I could never dream of doing that. What can I do to convince my mom to give me some freedom because I have no life thanks to her paranoia

My fiance is very stubborn, even signs of an emotional abuser. Not in a way where he calls me out of my name or horrible things in that way. He's always criticizing & telling me how I'm ignorant in everything I do. I feel like I'm walking on eggshells. I try to not piss him off because he will go about his day fine & hang up on me and ignore me. I'll be the one stressing and apologizing. I've become a weak woman all over being scared of losing him. But he works away from home for weeks at a time. He is a good man, good father, doesn't drink or do anything except work his *** off. I'm lucky so I choose battles but I'm fighting a constant war with myself. He can make or break my day and I shouldn't give him the power. Let's sum this up saying I'm so scared to piss him off. (He would not nor has ever hit me or called me out of name) maybe I'm too insecure and his stubborn pride doesn't mix....? Anything? I have no idea what to think or do but it's stressing me everyday thinking if he's mad at me or watching what I say.

Question: Afraid my help won't be enough?

I want to help my hurting friend in any tiny way I can. I'm afraid my little ways won't be enough or that it is no help. Have you ever felt like this?
