Posted: 04 Oct 2015 05:04 PM PDT Okay so my best friend (since kindergarten now 8th grade) we don't go to the same school anymore but still see and talk to each other reguarly. So today I go on Instagram and see a post that she went to the mall with her other friend so I'm just like ok cool. Then I see that she went to the mall with all these other guys some in 9th grade. Now I have always been there for my friend, I had her over countless times in the summer and tried making efforts to even see her more (but I didn't work out). Now it's October and she still had not invited me to do/see her or anything and honestly it's kind of hurtful because I am a really good friend and her parents like me too. But then seeing posts on instagrams with these guys who never make the effort I'm just like what? You know what I mean? I don't know if I should start kind of hinting around to see her? Any advice? I'm like not trying to be jealous with this but it's annoying to feel like second pick or not high up enough? What should I do? Will this be a phase? (Same thing happened last year) |

When her and I were first friends in high school we did a lot of drugs together and we're just in a mess in life. Well over the past few years I have to say I have really pulled my self up and out of that life. I own my own home, I have not done a drug or drank in years, and I just recently got promoted to a pretty decent position despite not having a degree, because of my work history w the company and my expierence. My friend ( who I don't see much anymore) is still using and has never held down a job or moved out of her mom's house despite being 44 years old but that's party due to her health issues. But she's a good person and was there for me when no one else was! Well she invited me to her family function today and I went. At first it was fine... I notice how comfortable and confident I am around new people now and I felt great..but oddly my friend kept asking if I was 'ok' and asked if I was mad at her?'? Um no. Then she kept getting MAD at me for declining any food (I wasn't hungry) and said ' i know why your not eating. Your just like me when I was big I never ate in front of people ' again...I wasn't hungry. THEN she randomly announced that her and I used to get high together all the time! It dosent bother me...BUT later on the ride home a thought occurred to me. I WONDER f she was TRYING to embarrass me because in the past she went to great lengths to HIDE the fact that we ever did drugs together. |

Everyone WORSHIPS her and says how fun she is. She asked me if I drank or did pot. I told her I drank once, (i'm 16 btw) but dont plan or doing it for a long time because I got VERY sick after drinking. Also, I told her I never smoked pot. She bursts out laughing and says "you're such a goody goody!". Problem is, I would LOVE to be like her but thats just not who I am. I am #2 in my class out of 200 and I am 4 seconds away from beating my school's one mile run record. I enjoy being introverted and studious and Im not saying my sister should be like me. All my friends just call me a loser and pressure me to be like her. I try really hard but im just socially awkward. I sometimes feel suicidal because I can never be fun and I feel like there is no point of living if i dont have fun. I would trade all of my grades and athletic potential to be like my sister. And just who they are makes me want to change my life. The thing is, ever since I met them, I ve been improving my life without even realizing it. I feel weird about it because I m not sure if it s a good thing that one person has had this power over me. I m kind of scared that once the honeymoon stage is over (so to speak), then I ll go back to my bad habits. But right now I feel so motivated to make changes. I became pretty sad over that. Over the summer, A and I were supposed to do our before high school bucket list, and I always told her whenever she's free, to let me know. But overtime, when I ask are you free, she would say no, I have dance class, things like that. We stay in cabins for 3 nights and I was wondering what I could do to get an "advantage" over friends. What I mean is something I can play with or have to entertain me when they are bored. So I got rid of him, I got another Facebook profile for reasons other than this and this morning I clicked on my followers because I realized I had a new one and it was him so I blocked him once again. I'm not holding a grudge against him but I'd rather not have him associated with me whatsoever and I don't know why he would even bother because it's been way too long and if he wanted to apologize he would of done it earlier because I met him off a site other than Facebook and became friends he started harrassing me on FB and he deleted me after I told him to get lost. Played varsity sports during my whole high school career, was in several organizations and had a few friends all though I was still pretty shy. Now in college, I am attending a university where none of my friends came to the same school as me so now I have to start over. I have been in college for about a month and a half now and I feel miserable there. Being as shy as I am it is so difficult to make new friends because I just sit there in classes. I live in the dorms so I have a few friends there, but they aren't people I feel myself connecting supper close with. My roommate is nice, but she is always wanting to be out late with her friends and a group of guys while I just want to stay in and hang out with some people on my floor and do homework. I have a boyfriend of almost four years and he lives only 15 minuets away from me. I stay with him almost every weekend but when it's time for him to bring me back to college I literally feel so sick I just want to cry. I feel so miserable at college because I have no close friends there. I am involved in one club so I have gotten to know a few people. I know I'm not home sick because my home life wasn't the greatest, so really, my boyfriend is my way out of college for awhile. We got in a couple arguments and 1 was when we went to a carnival together and i called her dog a "b*tch" jokingly and im not gonna lie i was kinda moody, but i was going through some stuff & i told her & she said that it was okay. the last one was bc she told me that my other best friend starts a lot of drama (when she doesn't) and i told my other best friend with my friend who sat at the table and my ex friend got mad at me. I told my ex friend that i wouldn't tell my best friend and my other friend who was sitting at the table did so i just gave in and told my best friend. My other best friend got mad and confronted the other (they don't really like each other). There were 2 people who told me that about my best friend, my ex friend & her friend who is also my best friend still. The other one forgave me &the ex friend didn't. |

Posted: 04 Oct 2015 12:32 PM PDT My older brother is a freshman in college this year and I am a sophomore in high school. Ever since he started college he has been rude and hurtful to me. Like when I will go into his room (he lives at home) to talk to him he would say "Can I help you" like I am just some pest. etc. I didn't understand at all because we used to be pretty close. Then we had a serious conversation one day and he told me college was stressing him out and he just wanted to get really good grades, make new friends, and do well overall. But then the following Thursday, he lashed out at me again and started yelling at me calling me "So f****** annoying and stupid!" Then I told him that I was done with him once and for all. We had several huge arguments just over the course of the end of the previous school year and summer so I think this was something bound to happen but I don't know. I'm really just done with his petty bullshit. The problem is that I don't think he cares that we are no longer close and he also has to drive me places I want to go because I can't drive yet and my parents are always working. Previously at the end of the recent school year one of our arguments was a lot like this one but that's when we were both in high school and after like 2 weeks of ignoring each other he initiated a conversation with me. I honestly don't really know if I was right or wrong about cutting ties with him this time around and I apolagize that this is really really long. Any advice on what to do? Btw we haven't talked in like 3 and a half weeks |

Posted: 04 Oct 2015 12:28 PM PDT I just don't get it.I'm the kind of person that cries when a fictional chracter dies or i see something sad happening on tv,movies,books, or listen to sad songs etc-actually i don't just cry,i freaking weep.I take things to heart and get hurt pretty easily,and i give people love wholesomely. But when it comes to real life sad situtions,i just really don't feel anything,maybe even get annoyed when people talk about their struggles etc (except if it's a close friend). For example,this girl in my class talked about how she was bulimic,and i used to be too,so i guess i should feel bad and say something nice to her,but all i could say was "and what do you want us to do about it,damn,we all have our problems" when she said she used to be bulimic.And i just really apathetically proceeded to tell her that that was her problem and we wouldn't cancel our project (it was on eating disorders) bc of it.And i've done similar stuff in the past year a lot,and i just realised it.What's wrong with me? |

He hated me up until now but my friend secretly convinced him to be my friend again. He commented "don t talk it personally" I think either meaning he s only doing it for my friend..and still hates me or something else. Problem is I still like him, I know my chances are very very low. But is there anything I can do to pull us close again? What are some conversation starters? Not sure if this will help but he s a Taurus man. Right now my friend told me that he thinks I m "arrogant"..like "I m god and you are all my peasants." And when the fight happened he didn t forgive me when I apologized because he thinks I m only doing it to make myself look good.. which I wasn t. I have been doing my best to keep up my appearance and blend in. I think this has gotten people interested in me. One of the class goers said she seen me walking down the street and that next time she sees me she'll bring her dog over to say hi. Then she said I must have been on my way to work. Then the instructor of the class came over and asked where I work. I didn't know how to answer the question because I don't usually talk to people. So, I said that I didn't want to say what I do for a living because I don't want people to judge me for it. Now, I guess I seem like a snob to them. I love this class because everyone is warm and friendly. I feel like I have lost this social positve, and I really want to keep going to the class. However, once I became a successful binary trader a little over a year ago, that all changed. I am a very mature 16 year olg guy. I am currently making 100k-250k a year. I just brought myself a car, saving up money for college and my future. I also plan on moving out once I turn 18. I just don't have tine for them. They love to call me a "sell out, corny, Uncle Tom" etc. You know, we all could hang if we all had the same mindset... Being ambitious. Are they ambitious and worrying about their education and future? No! They said that "school isn't important because I will become a rapper or athlete." I mean, being this young and successful is cool. I can have almost whatever I want when I want it. Want the new Xbox? Don't need to ask my parents for money. I can buy it myself. Want a pair of designer jeans. Can get them myself. However, it also has it downfalls. It's hard for me to find friends. Come on, how many "sucessful" 16 year olds are their out there? Plus, if I do find friend who parents have money, it's still hard to be friends, Because of work! I love my job, but sometimes I feel like it isn't worth it. I want to have fun like the normal 16 year olds, I want my friends back, but I need the money. |

Posted: 04 Oct 2015 09:04 AM PDT I understand those who have 9-5 jobs or college classes but thats really a very tiny minority to be honest. I can't function beyond 7pm. Like those who hate getting up in the morning hours, I can't function at night. Im sick and tired of all these meetups and events being at the late night hours. Earliest event I found was at 8PM Im at my most active and most productive when its daylight out. Once the sun goes down, I SHUT DOWN. And apparently that kills any hope of a social life. So unless I learn to adjust my body clock to function at night Im never going to make any friends because its impossible to have any social events in the morning hours. |
