Posted: 06 Dec 2018 03:08 PM PST I've been talking to this girl for awhile and we want to hangout a decent amount of time. However my parents don't trust me to drive through some very narrow construction highways. They pull the since you live here you go by my rules. I understand since I'm living with them it's their right to do so. They always get upset when I text them or tell them I'm going out. They get pissed because I didn't ask. Now because she lives 45 minutes away it makes it difficult. I just want my own life. I've thought about moving out but it's a difficult option as I work but don't make much. I'm going to try to sit them down to talk because I'm tired of it. What should I do? I know what there answer will be I'm just not sure what to counter with. |

Her Family Calls her 5-6 times a day for every Small help and she was on call with her family at least 2-3 hours a day so i make everyday Lunch, Breakfast and dinner,(she never make single time in last 2 years and her father know that) if sometime i make mistake in making dinner or lunch then she started shouting on me, I even have to watch movies only she likes if i want to watch movies i like then she again starts shouting and tells me you don't like me etc etc, I don't like in cold city like Alaska and her father tell her to buy home near to their home so that she can help her entire life, i never wanted this but as i mention they do what they want and they spend my and her money to buy home near to their home which i never wanted, I am unable to dump her as i mention before, but is there anything else i can do ? that i can avoid her to mess with me. ? |
Question: My mom calls me stupid am i really stupid? Posted: 06 Dec 2018 01:42 PM PST She calls me names just for everything little f**king mistake like I accidently left toilet paper in the toilet, yes I will admit it was a stupid thing to do, but is it worth calling me stupid? At least I know how to spell, and I got mostly A s and B s with one C+ and at least I don t believe in a imaginary sky daddy fairytale. And also I try to be respectful but my temper came out and I apologize but I just can t stand her calling me names for a little mistake |
Question: How can I live a life completely alone? Posted: 06 Dec 2018 12:37 PM PST I'm 28 and single and I've lost interest in getting married or getting into a relationship for various personal experiences in my past. I'm kind of extrovert in nature and do not socialize very much, don't have very good connection with my relatives. I had a sister who died in a road accident couple of years back, my parents are being old and suffering from various physical problems. If I don't get married than how can I live a life alone forever? how to deal with this? I'm from a developing country; so the social security, old home facilities, pension schemes, insurances are not much as good as developed world. I'm always become afraid what consequences I might face if I become ill during my old age or become physically disable in any accident or in any disease. These psychological tensions are drawing me back every time. What should I do? |

Posted: 06 Dec 2018 08:54 AM PST I do not have the will power to block her. She said she mises me and eating out, but I reminded her how controlling and mean she was to me and hit me, or threw my stuff if I did not do as she wanted. I moved out a couple of years ago and don't miss her at all. I found it insulting she acts like I need to come move back home just because I am not up to her standards. She hates my girlfriend too just because she is older than me, but in truth, my mom never wanted me to be happy. I was her slave in her restaurant too and had no life for many years. She would raise hell if I defied her. I might block my mom, but if I do that then my aunt might not send me any christmas money. I told my mom that I am not visiting because last time she started screaming at me in the car about my failures in life. |
Question: Help on a family situation? Posted: 06 Dec 2018 08:32 AM PST I am 21 years old. I work a full time job and give my parents rent money. My parents are traditional which most parents are but they can go to an extreme. I've had boyfriends before but with the one I currently have I am serious about. I've talked to my parents about this and about curfew (I have to be home by 10pm or they blow up my phone.) The thing I need help on is if any one can tell me other ways I can approach my parents to let me out later without freaking out. I haven't given them a reason not to trust me. I'm always the one they come to when there is a problem. I have always followed their rules. I have an older sister and they give her the liberty to do everything she wants and sometimes doesn't come home until 4am and they don't tell her anything. I just ran out of ways for my parents to try and understand me and how serious this relationship is to me. I made a post yesterday but want to see other peoples perspective before I take action. |
Question: What should I tell my daughter about her estranged mother? Posted: 06 Dec 2018 08:18 AM PST My ex-girlfriend and I split up a few years after our daughter was born, she's now 8. Whereas in the past when she asked about her mom(which was rare as I never brought her up because things were pretty terrible) I was able to dodge, change the subject, and move on, now she's really curious about her in general and what happened and I completely understand that. I guess I had to know it was coming at some point, I just didn't plan for it. There is no chance I can tell her what happened, because I don't think an 8-year-old needs to hear about their mom and alcoholism. Right now I'm just trying to keep these conversations gentle, tell her that her mom was pretty, had the same blonde hair, blue eyes she does. My plan is to tell her there were good times, but that Mom left because of her own problem( and be sure to let her know that it wasn't her fault). |
Posted: 06 Dec 2018 07:53 AM PST I resent my middle sister trying to control my relationship with my oldest sister, but I don't want to be cut off from Mom. What should I do? |

Question: I had a child with my soon to be Step-Sister? Posted: 06 Dec 2018 06:05 AM PST I dated this girl for 3 years and when we were 16 i got her pregnant. By the time we were 18 with a beautiful 3 year old girl. My mom and my gfs dad fell in love. They got together. Now the father is asking my permission to marry my mother. Me and the gf have split since then and my daughter is now 4. If i tell the dad no he will accept it and not propose to my mom. If i say yes that will turn my daughters mother into my stepsister and wouldnt that make me the father and step uncle of my daughter?? I just dont know what to tell the father. I want my mom to be happy but i know ill never hear the end of it for knocking up my "stepsister" from my friends and family... |
Question: I’m 24, parents and sister don’t want me to live alone? Posted: 06 Dec 2018 05:18 AM PST When I moved out my parents sent my younger (by 5 years) sister to live with me. She micromanage me all the time and constantly reports back to my parents. They do suprise visits several times a week. Every time I save up enough to move out my parents take the money from my bank account saying that if I managed to save that much I must not need it and they do need it cause they will spend it since I'm not. I feel like I'm trapped. They have no comprehension that I just don't want to live with family anymore. Especially this dysfunctional family. How can I escape? |
Question: Situation with brothers sharing a room? Posted: 06 Dec 2018 04:38 AM PST I'm 15 and my brother who's (somewhat newly) 10 years old have to start sharing a room because our grandparents are moving in with us so he has to give up his room, and we're trying to figure out the whole nudity thing (both of us sleep naked and getting changed and blah blah blah) I didn't really wanna ask any of my friends this becuase I feel like they'd get weirded out when I brought it up |
Question: What do you do when your family talks trash? Posted: 06 Dec 2018 03:58 AM PST My girl is 7 years my senior I over heard them basically calling her a slut cause she dresses sexy and parties a lot. |
Question: My step brother hates me? Posted: 06 Dec 2018 03:27 AM PST My Mom just got married. I'm 18f, my step brother is 33. I didn't meet him until the wedding, because he lives on the West Coast and my Mom, Stepfather and I live on the East Coast. He's been very kind to my Mom, and talks about how much he likes her. But he treats me like crap. Ever since we've met, he won't even talk to me, he overlooks me, when we all go to dinner he'll even roll his eyes when I'm talking. I don't know what his issue is. The other day I decided to approach him about it, and he said: "I just don't like girls like you. You pretend to be all sweet but you're probably a two faced mean girl. You use your looks to f*ck with everyone's minds but it's not going to work with me." Then he pushed past me. Throughout that day, he would look at me and roll his eyes. It's weird and I don't know what to do. |
Posted: 06 Dec 2018 01:10 AM PST Growing abused and neglected, people can change their lives around and not end up being horrible people. And as we get older our parents have been confronted about their abuse and neglect. They still, deny and blame each other instead of admitting their faults. They have never been married, and split up when I was a baby. I m grateful for my life and to be able to take accountability for my own life. It still hurts to see my younger brother waste his life away, he s not working, he just sits inside the house all day every day. My dad has NEVER done anything with him, I feel so bad that my brother seems so depressed because there s no man to mam relationship between my dad and brother. My dad just says "he never talks to me" about my brother. Why should my brother have to ask his own dad to go do stuff with him.y dad doesn t do anything with me either unless it benefits him, like he ll ask me to go shopping cause HE needs jeans.... Some people should never be parents be ayes they |

I'm gay so I only like guys but she's my sister so I have to love her I guess. When she's sick or cant sleeo she always wants me to sleep with her or stay near her. She knows that I'm married shes not happy about it. She thinks I love my husband more than her I do love him but I love her too. How can I help her ? |

Question: Why do family members insist on treating adults like children? Posted: 05 Dec 2018 10:23 PM PST For instance, I have moved away from my family, started my own life on my own. And they still talk down to me and act like I never moved away. My parents never seemed proud of me for changing my life for me. If I'm around my dad he'll criticize whatever i'm doing with a confused look on his face. It's like he is never proud of me or has faith in me. Everything I do is wrong or not good enough. My mom is a bit better, she expresses excitement and is glad in whatever i'm doing. She just doesn't take into consideration that I'm smart. She'd rather have a meltdown if something's isn't going her way, I have to console her, something she has never done my whole life. If I have feelings or want to talk about a problem in my life (rarely) she will reply "I am ill, I have a headache, ttyl) Is it possible that some families just don't want to accept you growing up? I think healthy normal parents would be stricter and want their kids to succeed more in life, not stunt their growth by not being supportive and encouraging. |
Question: Should I talk to my dad about this or would it be wrong? Posted: 05 Dec 2018 09:58 PM PST I'm a 16 year old girl My dad gets upset with my mood swings, anger out burst, depression, and anxiety. Some of the causes for my behavior are.. Puberty related. There's the normal stuff like school, and friends that can upset me. But sometimes weird things upset me, anything from being self conscious to sexual frustration. I know it's normal.. I think. I think it's mostly common issues. I just don't know if I should tell him. I feel more comfortable talking to him than with my step mom. My step mom gets angry and homophobic with my comments on my issue. Saying medication to calm me down isn't an option and stuff. My real mom doesn't want to see me and hadn't for a long time. So I'm kinda stuck with either talking to my dad about my reasons for my unacceptable behavior or keeping it to myself. What should I do? |
Question: Do I need a break from studying? Posted: 05 Dec 2018 09:35 PM PST I am home schooled. I love to study everyday. I like to start early like 7am until like 4pm earliest. I even like to study on Saturday. Lately my mind has gone to la la land when I pick up a book or sit in my seat. My family says it's cause I'm burned out and need like a week off of studying or something around those lines. Do you agree with them? |
Question: Yes or no..?? Is my sister my...? Posted: 05 Dec 2018 09:11 PM PST Soulmate? She's always been there for me throughout everything, and has helped me through school, work, etc. Being a female myself, I have always taken her advice on makeup, clothes, etc. Without her, I don't know where I'd be today. IS she my soulmate? |
Posted: 05 Dec 2018 08:19 PM PST i'm 5'8 and i'm 14 almost 15. my mom is around 5'4 or 5'5 and my dad was 6'1 at his tallest. on my moms side my grandma is 5'6 and my grandpa is 5'11. i don't know heights on my dads side. |
Question: Would you pull away from your daughter if she was an exotic dancer? Posted: 05 Dec 2018 07:32 PM PST She isn't young anymore, and has done it for many many years. She has had significant health issues and hasn't been able to maintain consistent job schedule so she has continued to dance (no, it isn't drug related it is auto immune related). I have offered to bring her to my home, but she refuses my help. This is an embarrassment to our family so I have pulled away from her. She is going for her masters degree so she claims she is going to be using it as soon as she finishes but this has been said for 5 + years now. I have stopped inviting her to family functions as well. |
Question: My mom's fiance is beating on her and telling her not to talk to me .? Posted: 05 Dec 2018 07:15 PM PST My mom found a new man throughout the years of me not seeing her because I was separated from her as a child and put into foster care , my whole life has been nothing but horror it's almost like there's a curse or something that has been put on me and I don't deserve it , I never knew who my actual father was , i follow my mom on Facebook and she never spares time to talk to me ever , she claims she uses her fiances phone , the bigger issue is that when I confront my mom about ignoring me when I just want to talk to her , she will throw everything terrible thing up in my face I did as a kid , in now 23 years old I'll be 24 in January , my aunt amy is also heavily connected with my mom who was the one who helped me get back in touch with my mom in 2014 , now amy knows my mom was never there in my life as a kid and I'm angry with my whole biological family for being in foster care for the years I did and my mom not being there but choosing men over her kids and not being responsible , my mom has made me so angry , this fiance of hers got death threats from me and I threatened if I came down there to see my mom and him it would be a problem because I don't know him and I'm already upset with him because I believe he's beating on my mom and telling her to ignore me , this man was not apart of my life as a kid so why should I accept him now? I don't know him and he's keeping my mom and family away from me! How can I deal with this problem? |
