Question: How do I tell my friend I like them? Posted: 23 Dec 2018 05:48 PM PST So I like one of my close friends and I'm pretty sure they like me too. I think we have a close enough friendship to stay friends even if they don't like me back. I want to tell them how I feel and I'm pretty sure I want to do it over text/. Anyone have advice? |
Question: How to deal with occasional loneliness? Posted: 23 Dec 2018 05:44 PM PST I recently cut ties with just about everyone I was "friends" with because I viewed them as contributing to my mental unwellness. It's been a year long event because I lived with my three "friends" until they started to hang out with people without who did not like me, before long they started to invite those people to our house when I asked them not to. Eventually it was them over all the time, and my friends out with those others where I was very much so banned from joining. Eventually I moved out because they all thought I was overreacting but now I've cut them off because i do not want that energy around. However it is hard to find new friends and rarely I get lonely, but when I do I am unsure what to do and if I've made the right decision. |
Question: How bad is this situation? Posted: 23 Dec 2018 05:05 PM PST My ex boyfriend went to jail for murdering a man and now he's stalking me online. I'm not even kidding!!! How bad can this get? Please be honest thanks |
Question: “Life is short, let’s make it shorter” What is the meaning of this? Posted: 23 Dec 2018 04:30 PM PST What's your opinion on the meaning of "life is short, let's make it shorter" ? |
Question: I don't want her to lose her job because of me? Posted: 23 Dec 2018 03:46 PM PST I'm in a very stressful situation, my name is John and I work as a assistant in a dental office. I'm really good friends with this girl Sasha, we're really good friends and we talk at work for maybe five minutes and other times we just sit at her desk during her LUNCH. Recently a lot of other workers have reported us, and they are all saying that we spent two hours sitting at her desk not doing nothing just talking..... so Sasha had a meeting last week and managers told her that I am a distraction to her. Sasha told management that she always finishes her work and she had proof that her job is always complete. Her manager told her that her job could be on the line because a lot of people have been complaining. Everyone is lying and i dont understand why. today I saw her and she looked a little bit upset and we didn't talk much. I told her that this is all my fault because I'm the one that always goes to her desk, but she told me not to worry about. This is honestly frustrating me because deep down I really like her and I don't want to see her lose her job because this is gonna bother me a lot knowing its my fault. Im the one who would always approache her and we would talk. Can i please have some advice???????? |
Question: Should I ask my friend out? Posted: 23 Dec 2018 02:18 PM PST OK, so here is the truth. My friend and I got into a major fight that almost got rid of our friendship because one of my best friends talked negatively over her. However, my best friend, knowing our best friendship was in danger, told my friend that I did everything in my power to stop him for saying those things (this is true). My friend immediately asked me if I liked her, and I said no then yes. She later admitted she once had feelings for me. The problem was I was so attached to this girl before I started liking my friend that my friend stopped liking me. She said I stopped liking you because you had so much feelings for this girl, and I could not stand in the way between that. I started developing feelings for my friend, and they got more intense than the girl I got rejected from. NOW, I told my friend my true feelings, and now she wants to talk to me about them. THe only problems is my friend told me she moved on to another guy about a month ago, and the feelings might be gone. |

Question: Is this sexual harassment and if so by who? Posted: 23 Dec 2018 01:42 PM PST I work in an office with 8 other women. Our boss is a 29 year old single guy who is the best boss in the world. We just adore him. I would not take another job even if it paid more if it meant I would get a new boss. In the employee break room, he will sometimes join us in our conversation. One day we ask him if the reason he hired us was we passed the "cup test". He said what was the cup test? We told him that we had to have a D cup or bigger to get hired. He told us no. We all passed the beauty test. He only hired beautiful women and we all pass the test with flying colors. Is he ever cool. Another time we ask him if his dates all had boob sizes bigger that their IQ. He said he did not know as he never looked at their IQs. We all had a good laugh. Women in other departments tell us we are sexually harassing him. Are we? Can you sexually harass someone if they enjoy what you say? You would think if we were sexually harassing him, he would fire us. |
Question: My BFF never tries to see me anymore. What should I do? Posted: 23 Dec 2018 10:28 AM PST My best friend from college and I did everything together.. we were inseparable. A couple years ago she got a job that moved her to Chicago. I feel like she has gradually been pulling away from me ever since. In fact, the last couple times she was home visiting she didn't even try to reach out to me. I get we have very different lives now... I'm a single mother now and she's doing the whole big city/career thing. But I thought I'd still be a priority to her. When I saw on social media that she was at home for Thanksgiving, I texted her to confront her. She gave me a lame response about how she doesn't have time to see everyone when she comes home and that seeing family comes first. She also made a passive aggressive comment about how I've never bothered visiting her since she moved and how I never ask her how she's doing anymore. She clearly doesn't understand that I'm a single mom and that she should make allowances for that. I'm hurt and I want my friend back. Advice? |
Question: My mother doesn't approve of my interests. What do I do? Posted: 23 Dec 2018 10:10 AM PST I'm a sixteen year old girl who is mainly interested in My Little Pony, Supernatural, and serial killers (strange combo, I know). My mother doesn't seem to approve of any of these interests. I don't know what to do. Update: I get she doesn't approve, but I don't understand why. Even when I ask her she doesn't tell me a reason I understand, but that's not the point. I want to know what to do in this situation. I'm very rigid with my interests and when I like something I become obsessed with it. What do I do to get her to leave me alone? |
Posted: 23 Dec 2018 09:21 AM PST Okay, so maybe Paul isn't a good idea. But I still want to talk to a prisoner (preferably from a far enough away place, somewhat like him in home life and experience). How do I do it safely? |
Question: Friend acting like my boyfriend? Posted: 23 Dec 2018 08:52 AM PST I don't even know him that well, I just make conversation to be polite, but he finds me when I'm randomly eating or walking alone and join me and stay until I say I have to go. He calls me multiple times a day and texts me numerous times before I reply and the other day he randomly kept touching my face and I'm starting to really dislike him. I feel like disliking him for being overly friendly is mean, but I just do. He asked me out and I made it clear that I don't like him like that but he's still always there. I just want him to stop but I don't want to be rude |
Question: Should I cut off my friend of 10 years? Posted: 23 Dec 2018 08:48 AM PST Make a long story short, A friend of mine from the same streets I grew up on, he and his girlfriend were waiting in my car for me to get done work. Thats common of us. However, they asked me if I could take them to the city so they can score some money. I said no and that I better get in work. Car in the lot. My best friend askes me to leave the keys in so they can have some heat. I do this after I told them I wont be taking the car into the city. During my shift, I got a call from him saying the his girlfriend got into an accident. I told them I wasnt going into the city and THEY took it so they could do what they had to do before I got off. I was pissed!!!! His mom took me over to where he was. No one got arrested or injured. My car isnt totalled, but needs repair which my insurance covers with a deductible which my "friend" says he's gonna pay me since he works with me too. Im in a rental now. He was very sorry when we got there and seems to hate himself...... but after I get t he money from him, should I cut him off? He says hes giving me 3 of his paychecks and we are in the same building of employment. If he pays, and if he is truly sorry, and he's NOT been dodging me since it happened, if he makes good on his "promise" should I cut him off or just distance myself? Do you think he wants to repent for what he did due to, possibly from his POV, to avoid retaliation in the future or you think he might be really sorry and it sunk in? He started out as a legit friend and also is a neighbor up the street. Had plenty of good times during our friendship and also was able to experience his decline. He also did it himself and ive tried to help him as a friend does. Everyone has flaws and people make mistakes but this is MY car. I also got the vibe that he hates himself over it as I refused to shake his hand that night. Came by the next day, though I was out. He isnt avoiding me so maybe he wants to redeem himself. I dunno. |
Question: Why do girls dislike me? Posted: 23 Dec 2018 08:45 AM PST I'm a girl, and I've never really had this problem with boys, probably because they're stereotypically friendlier and all that, but I'll have all these girl friends who would be so nice to me at school, and then just not invite me along to their parties or bail on me. Tbh this is just in my new school. I thought maybe it's because I'm poorer? Everyone at my school is quite wealthy, I only got in with a scholarship cos of my grades. I try to always be nice and I do so much for my friends but they don't seem to care about me? It just makes me feel worthless |
Question: Are my friends screwing each other or even messing around? Posted: 23 Dec 2018 07:22 AM PST I have two friends. One guy and a girl. I've been quite close to the girl for 2 years now. Recently she's began getting closer and from time to time flirtatious with my friend. She sometimes flirts with him by admiring his dressing etc., twerks on him in the club etc. Whenever she decides to sleep over at our house she stays in his room. My friend knows I like her, but she does not know. I tell him to stop sleeping in the same room with her, but he refuses. He feels he will not and cannot tell the girl to leave. But the girl has a boyfriend. I have spoken to the girl how I don't feel comfortable about them sleeping together, not having sex but just sleeping literally and she gives me mixed replies like a neutral answer and also that since I am not dating her I should not care and that if I am jealous and wanted her that I should have went for her....BUT SHE HAS A BOYFRIEND THAT SHE IS IN AN ON AND OFF AGAIN relationship with. I feel like they are messing around with each other in there, which kind of drives me nuts. I feel my friend is not loyal for continuing to sleep in the room with her whenever she comes and the girl is not a good friend for continuing to sleep in his room when she knows I feel uncomfortable with it. What do you guys think? The girl seems so into him sometimes. I have asked her if she likes him and she even said no...and that she actually likes his friend... |
Question: I made a mistake, apologized, and now my roommate is still ignoring me.? Posted: 23 Dec 2018 07:16 AM PST I was chatting with one of my roommates in her doorway and noticed her room was cold, which means the windows are open. My other roommate said we should check the windows so I got up again, knocked on her door again, and said, "Hey, you should check your windows. Actually, I can help you close them, because [other roommate] had to help me close them last time because they're so hard to close..." i talk fast, so I heard her say "yeah," and helped her lock the windows. She spent the next hour and a half ignoring me. I figured she was tired and so I didn't bother her. She left for work and sent me a text message saying for me to never enter her room again without permission. i replied saying I was really sorry, hadn't realized she hadn't said I could come in, told her it wouldn't happen again, etc. I sent her another text after, when she didn't reply, saying she should've told me right away because i don't want to make her uncomfortable, and if she'd just told me I wouldn't have gone in. She said "I do better through text" and didnt respond again. Then at work and she blatantly ignored me. She didn't look at me or talk to me. This happened again the next day, and the day after that she left for winter break and hadn't texted me since. I apologized, and I understand that it's up to her to forgive me and that if she doesn't it's my own fault, but I don't think this should be something that should end our friendship of two years. Any tips on what I should do? |
Question: I think my friend is either jealous or toxic? Am I right? Please help? Posted: 23 Dec 2018 06:51 AM PST I met this girl during our freshman year of college, and we became really close. The following year, our dynamic changed and I don't know why. We both rushed for an a cappella fraternity, and after one of the rushing events, I decided to walk back with her to our dorms (my dorm is within walking distance from hers) and she said, "why are you walking with me?" And I said, "because I'm your friend" she didn't say anything the rest of the way back. During our audition, I had trouble hitting a few high notes, and she says in front of everyone, "wow! You really can't sing. No offense though". Anyway, I ended up getting the lead part, which meant that I also had to conduct. During our rehearsals, she would always say things like, "we don't need a conductor" "I should just do it". After our initiation, we all hung out at my place, and one of the guys said something (jokingly) but I believed him, and she said, "not to be mean, but you have some dumb girl tendencies" in front of everyone. We had a group project together, and the 5 of us rehearsed our part for weeks! (We made 3-4 slides each and rehearsed ONLY our slides, and the order we were presenting). During our presentation, she started reading my slide, so I whispered to her, "this is my slide" and she yelled, "ok, sorry". Then, as I was reaching for the laptop to turn slides, she pushed my hand out of the way - she didn't that twice. Sometimes she'll just say, "I'm so pretty", out of nowhere. |
Question: Why is my friend always angry and snapping at me? Posted: 23 Dec 2018 06:50 AM PST My friend is in an abusive relationship with a man, and has been together with him for five years. I feel like she gets anxious or agitated all the time when he texts her, and then she takes it out on me. It is starting to affect me, because I have given her so much support to leave this man, but no matter how much I support her, she stays with him. Thing is, it is starting to affect our friendship, and because of him she is becoming an unpleasant person. He is always asking her for money when she doesn't have any, so one time she told me she wanted to buy a headband and took me to this shop, and then we got to the till and she told me she couldn't afford it, and so I wound up buying her this headband and paying ten pounds. Then, when I asked her for the ten pounds back which I lent her, she kept complaining and said she had no money. Whenever I hang around with her, she snaps at me and gets agitated really easily. I feel like she is using me as a punch-bag. When we hang out together and I am talking to other people, I see she gets annoyed and rolls her eyes and glares at me. I am starting to feel really intimidated. Another time she arranged to see me and I knocked on her door and she shouted at me that I had to wait a minute for her to open the door. Why is she always angry with me? I feel like I want to distance myself from her now because she is getting unpleasant to be around. |
Posted: 23 Dec 2018 06:28 AM PST I've met loads of people that are extremely intelligent, got a great degree and a very good job, are not overweight, don't have any health issues, mental or physical, have loads and loads of friends, are very social and good at talking to people, are in a good relationship etc. How are these people not "perfect"? In comparison to people that struggle in school, struggle to even get a job, have weight issues, have numerous mental or physical health problems, are extremely socially awkward and struggle to make friends or even talk to people etc. What more could they want? |

Question: Why did this girl ignore me? Posted: 23 Dec 2018 12:48 AM PST I met this girl off tinder. She came onto me first. Saying how she thinks im very cute and stuff. So we met for drinks the other night. It went well she was laughing the whole night. And we talked the whole time for like 3 hours. She didn't drink though. She had water the whole time. I, on the other hand had 7 drinks. But i wasn't drunk. So once I paid my bill we met by our cars in the parking lot. I gave her hug goodbye then we started to make out. She told me to text her when I got back. So i did and she said how she was so glad i made it back safe. I told her i had a good time and that she really cool and she said, "Thank you , I had a good time too :)" i texted her back saying When you get back into town let me know (shes flying out to see her family for the holidays for 2 weeks on Sunday). She didn't respond to that. Then the next day which was today I texted her saying hey whats up around 5:30 and she didn't text me back. So im just a little confused. By the way im 25 and shes 27. |

I don't know what to do. |

Question: How can I start talking to this girl I really like? Posted: 22 Dec 2018 07:56 PM PST (I'm a girl also btw) I have a crush on this girl in one of my classes. Thing is I've never talked to her. Really the only interaction I've had for her is when I held the door for her and she said thank you. I have no idea if she's even into girls herself but like i don't know.. I just really like her. She's super nice and gorgeous. I just really want to get to know her. We're both shy. She sits next to me in class also. I'm kind of scared to talk to her because I feel like I'll mess up and get awkward. But how can I start talking to her?!! Thank you!! |
Question: How to make my friend stop "Billy coating?"? Posted: 22 Dec 2018 07:30 PM PST One of my close friends has been pestering our entire friend group and potentially upsetting the balance of the universe by chewing on cans. He calls this process "Billy coating" and really enjoys it. I have seen him tear open his cheeks and tongue to the point of bleeding, but nothing stops him. I m not sure if it s an oral fixation or if that even matters. Please help. |
