Question: My mother in law is destroying my marriage and I cannot do anything about it? Posted: 21 Dec 2018 06:47 PM PST My husband was always defending me whenever she was being disrespectful to me. he always let her know she had boundaries. At some point she got upset at him because me and him did not agree with her when we had a political discussion. Ever since that day she left for a year and never came back. When she did come back our second baby was just born. She created nothing but problems and drama between us. To the point that my husband is treating me today like his enemy. I just cannot understand him anymore. He takes his time disrespecting me, making fun of me, hurting my feelings and going back to act as if nothing happened each time. whenever I hear that she is coming my mood changes but I try to keep appearances as much as I can. then she changes her mind and doesn't come. But one thing I know everytime she shows up we end up in huge arguments. and we grow further away from each other each time. Even when we get back to talking things are not the same. what should I do. I'm going to counseling but I can't help but be depressed knowing all that is happening right now |

Question: My negativity is putting stress on my relationship with my husband? Posted: 21 Dec 2018 11:38 AM PST Looking back I never realized how negative I have become. My husband pointed it out to me. I am always whining, picking, and nagging. Everything is negative. When he told me this last week I finally seen it. We were arguing (mainly me arguing) he told me that he doesn't need all the negativity around him because obviously he must not be making happy and maybe I should find someone that will. That really hit me hard, but stupid me was back to my shitty attitude antics once again. I don't know what to do. It's like I can't control myself. I'm always crying or angry. I can't lose my husband. He is my shining light at the end of the tunnel. When I think of the thought of him leaving I can't breathe. I love him so much. How do I fix myself? Help please |

Posted: 21 Dec 2018 10:13 AM PST Mu husband and I are both 41. We've been married since 2004. We don't have kids. A few years ago, my husband and I started having marital problems. It wasn't because of abuse or infidelity We began to have problems communicating. We began arguing a lot. And we found ourselves on diverging paths. Then my job transferred me to Washington, DC. It was supposed to be temporarily and I was "volun-told" to go. My husband didn't want to go, but my career is important to me. So I went and a 3-month assignment turned into a year. Our communication started dwindling to zero and I began building a life in Washington. But after awhile we began talking again. I came back to visit last summer (but stayed with a friend) and began talking face-to-face with my husband. I moved back in with him in September and it's been slow, but we're going through marriage counseling. We're working through some stuff and we're beginning to be a couple again. As I said, reconciliation is slow. Have you ever been through it? What are your thoughts and experiences with reconciliation? |
