My husband is in the military, but the ways things are looking we are headed for divorce. We are both are extremely unhappy and he is holding grudges about our past on me and can't get past the rough year 1/2 we've gone through. Mistrust & insecurities, accusations coming from me due to the lack of honesty from him. It has caused a huge hole in our marriage and he expects things to be perfect. I can't sit here and pretend to be happy or perfect especially when our main issues came from lying on his end. Point is, I've made a decision and told him. I will give him a divorce. But since I've had to support his military career he's going to have to take our daughter and take care of her up until I am done with my bachelors because I refuse to bring my child into a struggle. I have 2 years left of school and I'm determined on finishing and I refuse to allow him to live his life the way he chooses while I take all the responsibility of being a single parent. Also, he has another son whom he pays child support for and he only sees once a year because he CHOSE this life. This is an ultimatum, I may sound like a terrible mother, I love my child to death, but this is only temporary... does this make me a terrible monster or do I have the right to feel this way by wanting to accomplish something for myself and evidently for my child.

Title says it all. A lot of people date for YEARS like 10+years then once they get married they only last a few years. WHY? Should I never get married and just stay boyfriend and girlfriend?

We've been together for 7 years. She has a son whom I've raised from 2 years old and we have a son together. One is 9 the other is 5 but she wants another baby and is willing to break up and split the family to do so. I am 35 she is 31. I find it crazy to have a 3rd when we can barely afford 2. We would need a bigger house and would need a bigger car. I find it crazy that someone would break up their family just to have 1 more child. Am I wrong here? I think we should talk, maybe see a counselor and reassess in 6 months. Thoughts or experiance?
