Question: How can I involve my bridesmaids at the salon? Posted: 03 Mar 2016 04:17 PM PST We agreed that I would do their hair and makeup for them to save them money, but after that I will go to the salon for my own appointment. I want to bring them so I don't go alone, but I don't want them to have to sit there and be bored. Is there a good way to involve them, and keep it from being awkward and boring for them? Or should I just go alone and have them help out with decorations, etc. until I get back to the church? Thanks so much! |

Question: The importance of marriage? Posted: 03 Mar 2016 01:39 PM PST My fiancee gave me a beautiful engagement ring and we have been intending to get married for a few years, we just wanted to have money first so we could afford a very nice wedding. But it's easier if we get married immediately through the court and hold off the ceremony for a few years. It is easier on us as far as taxes and saving for a house, and more importantly we will both have dental/health insurance this way. Getting married for financial advantage seems the most logical thing to do, but takes the magic out of the proposal and ceremony. But the more I think about it, the less I care about being wooed and romanced and putting on a show. I already decided to spend the rest of my life with him. Marriage is just paper and legal companionship, right? |
Question: Would you invite a non-related child to your wedding as a family member? Posted: 03 Mar 2016 11:09 AM PST My sister has two preteen stepdaughters and a teenage daughter and son. My niece and nephew live with her and her husband and they get his kids every weekend. Sometimes, though not often, they also have his ex's older daughter there. She's a year older than his oldest. My sister asked me yesterday if they could bring her, because the girls told her about it and now she wants to go, too. I said the wedding was only going to be close friends and family and she's not family. My sister flipped. She told me I was being cruel and unfair to her and that she is technically family because she's my (step) nieces sister. I disagree, so does my fiancé. Even my parents, who heard about it via my sister, said it was unfair to ask and they were also glad because they don't like the girl. Apparently she has anger and violence issues, something my sister never mentioned. This seems to be something my sister will fight for and if I don't give in, she told me today she won't be coming to the wedding and neither will my niece and nephew. Now I don't know what to do. I don't want to give in to demands or blackmail, but my niece and nephew are very important to me (they lived with me for three years) and I would hate for them not to be there. Not the stepchildren. The stepchildren's half sister (not related to my brother in law). Again, I am not talking about her stepchildren. They are invited. It's the stepchildren's sister. Yes, my niece and nephew and my sisters stepkids are invited. The child who isn't is not my BIL's child. She's the slightly older child of his ex. |

Question: What is the etiquette on giving a plus one to someone for a wedding? Posted: 03 Mar 2016 01:34 AM PST I have a friend that I have invited to my wedding. Let s say his name is James. A couple of months ago James attended another one of my close friends weddings and for his plus one he brought his friend Kyle. Now me personally I think he should have brought a date instead of inviting a guy as if it was just an everyday party. He wants do do the same thing for my wedding but I feel for the money we r spending per plate which is over 100 that he should ask a female friend and have a nice night out instead of treating it like another weekend party. Am I wrong to feel this way? The invitations already went out before I knew his intentions. Any thoughts/advice? |
