I'm in my 40s and play the drums. I've had moderate success with my bands. I've played in some of the most popular clubs in my area, have a summer schedule playing at several festivals this year. However, when I talk about my bands my family (oustide of my wife and kids) just roll their eyes or act like it's joke/silly thing that I do. I've been asked when I was going to act my age and stop playing in bands. I guess a 40 year old should be sitting around waiting to die. I don't claim to be a rockstar. I don't even make this my career. I do it cuz it's something that I've always been passion about and have fun doing it. And I have NO plans on stopping anytime soon. It's just irritating that they don't get how much work it is; that there is a business side to this. Anyone else have this issue?

So yesterday i was going to meet a friend whom i hadn't seen for long time at a nice cool bar. Unfortunately he was late, so i ordered a drink and a snack and sat at a table alone. As I waiting I noticed that a well-dressed guy from a nearby table looked at me and said sth to his friends. I pretended texting on my phone but after I stopped texting, the guy approached me and say hello but i did not reply so he went back to his friends. What was that? We've been going out for 8 1/2 months. He's 32 & i'm 28. At first it was fun and exciting as we were getting to know each other. Now, it's boring really. I used to see him Wednesdays, and fri-sun, & wed go out occasionally he'd cook, he's met most of my friends before. Now I see him saturday & sunday & we hardly go out. In the week, his excuse is being tired from physical labour,yet I have my own flat to crash at. He rents a place where the landlord is always coming & going. He texts me everyday, but I feel single during the week. I feel like we should plan things together, he should come round, pr want me round at least one night in the middle of the week. He just seems to want a weekend companion. He hasn't got many friends. He hasn't met my family. He always tells me how he wants to, but actions speak louder than words. When I'm with him he holds my hand indoors & outdoors, kisses me on the cheek when we're out, cuddles me, shows lots of affection. But only on his terms, on the weekend. Last weekend we went out all day & was really nice, but only because I said we never go out. Last tuesday he met me, because I asked to go to an event at a bar near him. Otherwise he's content seeing me saturday evening. He says he can help me with my rent if I need it, & buys me small things for the flat. But I think we want different things. He doesn't want a gf, or commitments it seems. Am I being needy? Or should we end this weekend relationship?

Planning for a present for a friend of mine's son. Im in my early 20's and in my 4th year in college. Unfortunately that doesn't mean graduation anytime soon for me. Fisrt 2 years I was not foucused at all. I had a strong outing my freshman semester, but i went downhill after that. All bs to the side, I got lazy, lost confidence because the work load, and just didn't do the work. Having a part time job took me over. I was more willing to chase OT every week rather than make time for school. Fast forwarding to now I'm back on track with my studies and my CJ major is locked in (changed 2 times) so now I know what I have to do. However, i get into very deep thoughts every once in a while about where I'm supposed to be right now. Who knows? I could be at an entry level position at the courts office, probation officer or beginning case manager starting off making $37-40 grand a year. Not bad for a 22 year old with no kids. Hell, I could be a home owner by age 30 predicting me climbing the ladder. Sadly It's only my 4th year and after this semester I'll just be hitting the half way mark to being done and that rips me. My mom she's the "tough love" type and never lets me forget I'm behind. She's right though who could blame her? All I can tell myself is to keep going and learn from those mistakes. I know I'm all over the place, but I don't really tell my problems often, so it's always in mind.

I am a Christian, and I believe in abortion because it is a woman's right to choose what she does with her body as it is free will that God has given us here on Earth. I also believe that it is a fetus, and it is not bad to kill until it becomes a baby. However, my mom highly disagrees with me on this and just won't seem to allow me to get away with our differences. She accepts that we have completely different political beliefs too, but she tells me that the subject of abortion is the one thing she can't accept. I think this is very wrong of her since I accept her for her views and have thought of nothing else towards her. How do I make her stop arguing with me about this?

So heres a little back story, I met her around three months ago. We fell very hard for each other a lot of feelings for each other grew very quickly. My ex has some mental issues, when we were together she told me that she didn't no fully believe the doctors diagnosis. So she stopped taking her medications. She ended up going into a maniac state for awile. Wile she was maniac she dumped me because the feelings scared her. Since the breakup I cannot stop thinking about her. She told me a couple weeks after we broke up that she still fells exactly the same and that she wasn't thinking properly when she dumped me. She said she needed to work on herself to get healthy again. So I stopped talking to her and ceased all communication with her I even removed her from my news feed. For a little bit over a month she hasn't contacted me or even so much as liked a status on FB. about 5 days ago she liked a FB status, it caught me off guard because this was the first sing of communication from her in over a month. the next day same thing she likes a FB status. The following two days she liked another two FB status's two days ago she liked 3 statuses in a row and a selfie. So I decided to poke her. Today she poked me back and liked another selfie and a couple other status. She is the type of girl to want to be contacted by the man first. Is this her way of trying to get my attention, does she want me to reach out? Please do not give me feedback reguarding her mental illness, I know a lot about mental illnesses. I the the risks of getting involved with someone with these issues and it doesn't matter to me. I just want to know if she is reaching out to me.

She keeps sending me text and voice messages every 30 minutes or so, and when i'm doing work she keeps talking to me about random things and nagging me. I told her before to not bother me so often, yet she forgets easily. Is there a solution? I don't want to end up moving out and living by myself..

Edit I've only been with my BF for 6 months, so I don't want to move in AT ALL yet even though he wants me to. I don't live near him. We are 1 hour and 20 minutes apart. Right now I have too many commitments here. Work, college, fire dept. He recently decided to put cows on the land his parents own, so now he's using that as a reason not to leave. When I suggested I'd buy the land and we could possibly put the fence on that land, he refused because he's "already started building the fence". He said the FURTHEST he'll move is 30 minutes away to another town because of the farm, but that's still an hour from me. So, recently I have moved into a new home (18 years old) I obviously couldnt afford a storage unit and my house is already FULL of junk I had previously... My boyfriends Mom offered to let me keep my stuff there for up to 6 months. They don't use or even look at the space I'm keeping it in by the way. Of course, I took the offer.
