Question: Groomsmen in different states; TUX RENTALS?? Posted: 18 Mar 2016 12:08 PM PDT My brother and I live in California, but the other groomsmen for his wedding in June live in Illinois and Georgia. In order for all of us to get the same tuxes, do I have to pick a national chain like Men's Warehouse? I've just heard they are pretty expensive, but I honestly don't know of any other big chains. What else is out there??? Thanks! |
Question: Cute Introduction of Bride & Groom? Posted: 18 Mar 2016 10:52 AM PDT My son is getting married to a girl that already has the same last name. We need a cute way to announce them at the end of the ceremony. Any ideas? |

Question: Father's role in my wedding? Posted: 18 Mar 2016 08:04 AM PDT When I was little my grandparents lived right beside us and my parents struggled with money so they would always baby-sit my sister and I. They provided for us more than half of the time. My mother died and we basically lived at my grandparent's house at that point because my dad was always out. He met my step mother. They married quickly and she had us move. The situation got pretty emotionally/mentally abusive and neglectful. My grandparents would buy me food to hide in my room so I had something to eat, amongst other things. When I graduated high school I left to live with my grandparents again. I told my dad we could still talk. It's been 3 years since I left and a lot of things have happened in my life that he hasn't been a part of. I saved up the money to go to school, I graduated from college with highest honors, got a job immediately, and my boyfriend of 5 years proposed. He's only spoken to me about 5 times since. The last 4 of texts from him have been recent. He kept telling me that he missed us. I had finally accepted that he was not in my life anymore, but now it has me questioning what to do about my wedding. I wasn't even going to mention it to him. Now I'm not sure. My fiancé and grandparents won't want him there. My friends say that he is still my father and he should at least be there, but not walk me down the aisle. Should he be offered the father duties (walking me down the aisle)? Should he be invited at all? Thank you all so much. As a side note, no one is helping us pay for the wedding. So obligation to listen to a certain person isn't an issue here. |
Question: What is expected of bridesmaids? Posted: 18 Mar 2016 07:19 AM PDT My friend who graduated from college a semester early is getting married, so she lives back at home while me and another bridesmaid still attend school. I go to school 4 hours away from home. I feel guilty for not going to the bridal shower but 1. I HAVE NO MONEY!! 2. It s far away. She told me it was okay because she ll have another shower. But it s the same deal. I don t have money or really time to be going home. I have to go the the bachelorette party and that s during finals week. I guess what I m asking is what is expected of the bridesmaid? I m in college, have no money, and it s expensive to drive home, plus I m in school haha I want my weekends. |
