She has always been the goody goody and is practically the smartest girl in the year8 year group. Recently at the start of the year these 2 girls came in to the school and they have been such slutty bitches so my best friend started hanging with them more than me but I didn't mind. One day someone came up to me and just told me that my best friend sent nudes to him and showed 2 pictures of her boobs and one of her under area. Immediately I assume that it is all false and go home and call my even closer friend so I can fill her in. Now this other friend has been best friends with the girl who sent nudes for about 3 year and knows her more than me and was so shocked and everything just like me. Now idk what to do with the situation and I really want to be friends with her but at the same time not and since this happened 1 month ago ppl r still taking about it and she started hanging out with other girls but not me and not even telling me why she never invited me to parties and such. I have been depressed the second semester because I didn't room with any of my team mates and they're cliquish. I hate trying to make friends, I'm very independent and believe they should form naturally: however, the team hangs out with only themselves and the athletes (probably because their kinesiology majors). I'm a psych major and can't relate, they all seem mean/judgmental of others. I have "different" friends (liberal arts school) and whenever I mention my friends they judge them. Ex. I told one of my teammates I hang with old men at a coffee joint because I enjoy their wisdom and company, she told me it was weird. It does seems sketchy, and I wish I could relate to kids my age, but I don't like partying or hooking up. I enjoy intelligent conversations. I cant connect with the team, I've gained weight due to stress eating and I'm thinking of joining the track team. I love running/pushing myself to my limits (in general) so I feel like this is a good fit, not to mention I enjoy the cross country teams company. Only problem is I've playedcsoccer for 14 years, I came to this school specifically for soccer, I'm good at it and my dad and I can connect with each other through soccer. I don't know what to do...I feel anxious whenever I hear I have to hangout with the team or go to practice, it's not fun anymore. I want to build friendships where I can be me and not be judged, but it doesn't feel like I'm getting that. |

She would stop hanging out with me and she sort of stopped talking to me. But this year, she's kind of nicer. She doesn't talk to me a lot, but when she tries to talk to me, it's very awkward with lots of silence. We've been friends ever since 7th grade(we're juniors now) and my really good friends who also play soccer are graduating this year, and I won't have anyone else to talk to. I called her on my birthday to wish her a happy birthday but she wouldnt answer me so I texted her instead because I was at work. She texted back and told me we were no longer friends.I got really upset because she kept comparing me with her other friends, because all her other friends go and visit her(most have a 15 hours a week job and dont go to school). At the time, I was so annoyed that I told her that she wasnt being a true friend and I wasnt intrested in being friends anymore too. But other times when we had the same fight, I tried to explain to her that I work long hours, it varies from 7-15 hour shifts, I go to school full time and my car back then wasn't reliable since it had a overheating problem and she lives 3 hours away. She kept saying those were excuses and if I really wanted to see her, I would take a bus or train. She got even more upset when she found out I was going to New York for a week to visit a friend over there. I tried to explain to her that it took me a year to save up money and buy the ticket, that I didn't just think it the weekend before or anything. She deleted me off every social media. We haven't talked since October(2015), I really miss her but Im scared shes going to reject me and its honestly going to be so embarrassing if she does. It seems like shes not going to reach out to me anytime soon either. |

So my two friends and I are having a good time getting along, but then a comment from Maya confuses me. it slipped out and she told me that she sat with those two friends Anna stole. I told her I didn't realize they were friends, and she says she thought i'd be mad. It makes no sense to me, I told her she didn't have to stop being friends with them. Then in the class that Maya, Anna, and I share, I start noticing Maya hanging out with Anna. It's not an issue but she doesn't say a word to me about it. Next thing I know, I'm ignored in that class. Maya still talks to me at lunch and in another class we share, but she's not as nice as before. Sometimes she outright insults me, not jokingly. Some days she's nice, some days she's mean. She's always trying to pinch or poke my cheeks to touch my dimples. Like, can you stop?!! I had a friend who I really admired for her independence and creative talent, and I like to surround myself with friends who inspire me to also be MY best. But here s the thing: we could talk for hours on end, helping each other with problems and allowing one another to vent about work, guys, etc., and it would be like we were sisters. And yet, she could sometimes make snide remarks I.e. Why are you ALWAYS at this cafe? In front of her coworkers and not acknowledging that I m actually working across the street from it and am actually rarely there. (It was the tone) And then she wouldn t even wish me a happy birthday - it may seem small but to me these are things that close friends don t ignore. one day she just stopped answering my texts - when all I said was can you send me your new address so I can send you some holiday cheer. I think I just became someone who wasn t cool enough to be friends with her, which is sad, bc we re in our late 20s. Responses such as "Oh I wish I could see you but I have my best friend tmrw and this event the day after and this fancy affair that night" kind of hurt. But honest to god she still inspires me with her work and I miss that energy to get me to do my best. Should I find newer friends or reach out to her? I had mine about 5 months before hers, and we were both so excited. Over the years we have always kept in touch and our boys loved to play with eachother. We d all hangout at least twice a month. 4 and a half years later, the boys usually do their own thing while mommies get a break, not having to worry due to them playing so well together. That is until recently, my friend has slowly been becoming dirty(no, not just messy, dirty) her laundry would be everywhere, moldy dishes, stuff everywhere, and she doesn t clean like no vacuuming or dusting. She was always messy but it s got to the point if I m ever there I wear black socks because my white ones get ruined. When we sleep over we bring our own pillows and blankets because hers smell so bad. Now her son, has been hitting mine for no reason, making up horrible excuses, lies about my son, and is so mean to him. He gets mad because my son doesn t play video games, and that s ALL he does. He will play black ops and all these horrible violent games (he s 4) all day and she doesn t care. I feel like it gets him out of her hair so she lets him. He knows how to work the PlayStation better than his mom, and first nice day of spring my son and us tried to get him to play outside, and he will not. Posted: 18 Mar 2016 03:09 PM PDT My friends have a disgustingly rude habit of making judgments of other people's intelligence based on grades. I'm in the IB program, so my friends are extremely competitive about grades, and they stress beyond belief. However, it sickens me when I hear my friend (we'll call him John) say things like "Anyone who has a B in psychology is stupid." I have a B in that class, so I feel insulted. I also have another friend who stresses about every little thing about college and grades and whatnot. But he always comes to school stressing about a homework assignment he didn't do because he stayed up watching TV. I cut through the bullshit, saying that he can't complain about how stressed he is if he doesn't do anything to remove said stress. It pisses me off when my friends judge others' grades. Like your life must be so boring that you actually have to talk bad **** about someone else's bad grades. Sickening. Why do my friends do this? Insecurity? Are they judgmental? As he was walking off the bus he came to me and said "talk that **** i m beat ur ***" along those lines & slapped me (not hard) Bus driver saw everything even before he came to me and so did the cameras on the bus. She called it in to her supervisor and was on my side having seen everything occur. Me & my former friend texted and argued a lil after we got off and agreed to meet & discuss what to say if they will call us down to the office. The buses & school is separate and they usually dont call the office but we are like 50/50 on this situation... We were thinking of saying that we planned it all out on the account of our bus drivers hearing and eyes being not of the best and at other problems she would hear me and my friends say things and not other people and not see if 1 of us were hit by someone etc we were planning on saying that we planned the fight in order to see the bus driver reaction 2 see if shes a raciest or if she picks and chooses when 2 get involved. Not in a way where she is to blame for anything of course we were gonna say it was more of an experiment type thing. I m guessing that they probably wouldn t believe this so I wanna know if anyone has any ideas at all please let me know... I got really upset because she's jealous and trying to use our mutual friend as a messenger. She knows I like her and I feel like she's trying to intervene. I didn't lash out but I politely told her to back off and yet again, she freaked out. Do you think she's trying to control me? For a while now, I have had this massive crush on her and I think she's found out, but I'm not sure. This is really bad because she is very religious and thinks being gay/les is wrong. However, I'm not sure if she found out, and if she did it's either because she saw some of my previous yahoo answers questions about her (I don't think this is the case though because I don't think you can search for users on yahoo), or she heard things from some of my male friends (which I hope isn't the case because I have a tenancy to say really sexual stuff about her. ) I really need some advice on what to do because I know if she found out I like her in a sexual way, it would make her feels used and upset. ( I think she is upset with me about something because she ran away from me in the hall today and ignored my texts after it said she read them ) I really need help with this because she is my bestest friends and I don't want to lose her because of these feelings :'( |

E.G.: he uses notoriety (a word with negative connotations) synonymously with celebrity or popularity. Normally I would agree that it s distasteful for me to be so picky about it and confront him, but my friend has a prominent social and business standing. I don t want him to seem ignorant in front of his friends, colleagues, clients, the public, etc. What would be an utmost tactful way of explaining the situation to him while also protecting his dignity? |

| Question: Should I Feel This Way About My Best Friend? Posted: 18 Mar 2016 12:27 PM PDT So, I have a best friend (D) and I've known her for four years. For the past few months, my best friend became friends with one of my old friends (J) and it was awkward for me. They bonded over having the same ex boyfriend and recently, they've been acting like best friends. They spend hours talking to each other on FaceTime which D and I don't do. J now tells her personal life to D and D is now her confidant. I told my best friend, D, that it's weird how J was invited to D's house after knowing J for a few months when it took years for me to go over her house. And D told me, "Don't worry about it; she's just a friend" but now, I always see them talking on Snapchat and they're posting pictures on IG when my best friend, D, never posted a picture of me. I talked to D and I told her how I was feeling left out and I was really uncomfortable with how fast-paced their friendship is and she dismissed it. Now, D and I are in a fight and things came into light which made me realize that I can't trust her (I have trust issues and I get incredibly mad when I get left behind because that's happened to me SO many times in the past which is happening now). I don't know what to do. Should a best friend make you feel this way? Like you're constantly in competition with someone else? Like you can't trust them? Like they're lying to you and you have to constantly worry about being left behind because of D and J? |

I don't care to be friends with Joy because from what Alice has told me, Joy has not been a great friend to her, but they both care about each other. I met Alice in college (4 years ago) and I am currently dating her brother :) not too long ago, Joy asked me to meet with her so we could talk. My relationship with Joy is non existent because she is my friend's friend and I don't trust her to be my friend based on her friendship with my friend. During our meeting Joy said I basically don't belong with Alice's brother and she blamed me for creating "family problems" between Alice and her brother (my boyfriend). The thing is that Alice and her brother never have fought over me. As a matter of fact his parents are always super sweet to me and his mom jokes about me having her grandkids! Lol. I can't help but keep Joy at an arms length from my life but it's impossible because my best friend is her friend. I am not good a pretending to like people. I have made it a point to just acknowledge her when she comes around but that's about it. No hugs and no conversations with her. Should I pretend to like her to avoid problems? How should I act? |

I don't know how to stand up to people like this, or ask for what I want/be assertive. Posted: 18 Mar 2016 11:32 AM PDT I'm asking because I've always had a hard time making a lot of friends growing up and it's unfortunate that people have this problem. As a 23 year old woman, I've always had a hard time making friends. When I was a teenager, a lot of people didn't like me for being weird, ugly, and that I didn't have the "right" hair as an African-American female. They openly excluded me and told me that nobody likes me. This all happened when I was 15-17 years old. I have younger brothers, but that's not enough. I don't want guy friends, I want girl friends because I'm tired of being able to get along with just guys (at this adult age at least, because guys hated me as a teenager). Because I had terrible social skills as a teenager, I was a yes-man and agreed with everybody so that I would have friends on the Internet. I was so desperate for friends that I had no standards. I would try to make friends with EVERYBODY. Unfortunately, my "friends" on the Internet caught onto this, turned against me, and started bullying me for being fat, ugly, and an *** kisser. I also made this same mistake in college when I was kind of desperate for friends that I used money for one female (but the female did tell me a sob story of how she got robbed, so I did it because I felt sorry for her, b). It was around $150 to be exact. When I tell these stories, instead of people feeling sympathetic, people tell me that I'm stupid and desperate for doing this and I should just be myself to get friends. |

He comes over to my house pretty much every week, and he usually initiates hang out time, but whenever I ask him to hang I feel like I'm being clingy. I knew he blocked me because when I called it went straight to Verizon saying that my call couldn't be completed. But when I texted him yesterday apologizing to him the message went through. He didn't reply but he did read the message. I'm ok with him not replying I'm just glad he actually read the message. If he didn't want me contacting him again I don't think he would have unblocked my number. |

Posted: 18 Mar 2016 10:51 AM PDT Well I commented on a thread about a Trump meme, honestly I'm tired of seeing them and I don't support Trump I don't care all I said is " Trump is a dick we get it" and everyone started attacking how I looked telling me that I'm fat, have horrible eyebrows, I look like I'm on meth and that I'm dumb and ugly. I fought back and I snapped and called a guy a ****** and told a Mexican girl to get deported they were pissing me off so I started trolling. A guy with a troll profile joined in and defended me and started trolling alone he said he didn't like seeing me get attacked. During the argument some moron under the Facebook name Ashley Madison jumped in and told me to kill myself and that he or she will send my friend screenshots of my comments, deleted the comment so they could leave my friend alone. The next day I get a message from the Ashley Madison troll with the screenshots saying he will send it to Cozette my friends name, I blocked the profile then Cozette later unfriended me and hates me. The man who defended me later told me that Ashley Madison threatened to contact his employer because they're too stupid to realize that his profile wasn't even real, my profile is private but I'm worried that "ashley madison" will end up stalking me in other ways. Yes I regret my comments I shouldn't have said them but I'm kind of freaked out how far he or she will go. I don't support Trump just tired of hearing about election day |

Although some of the girls are really nice & fun, they tend to be cliquish & I find it hard to maintain friendships with girls. Sooner or later they seem to ditch me or start taking behind my back or spreading rumours about me . Recently i've started talking to guys more & I think I prefer their company. I'm not really a tomboy, I don't care about sports, I care about my looks & am quite sensitive but prefer "boyish" movies/TV & have a boyish sense of humor & don't care much for makeup or fashion. I get bored of gossip quite easily. I think I might try befriending some guys as I appear to get along with them better. I don't have many friends now, I'm quite lonely |
