This summer I was going to be going to Florida and to Haiti, for volunteer work. But now, I'm not. Honestly I feel really disappointed because that's what kept me going through the school year. Something to look forward to. We aren't going to Florida because somehow my brothers recreational sport is more important than a once a year thing. Also, my sister has college. I get those are important but why does everything have to get in the way. This summers going to suck so bad because I'll be stuck at home.

I'm a 13 year old female and I used to have body issues. I always thought that I was fat but in reality I wasn't at all! I am actually skinny. So last month I took nudes of myself to see how I look like. I had no intention of sending them or showing them to anyone, I took them for MYSELF. Me, myself, I. Once in a while, my mom checks my phone. She went through my photo album and found my nudes and basically called me a "whore" (I hate that word so much) and she was just cursing me out and yelling at me. The thing about my mom is, whatever I do that she thinks is bad, she holds against me. She basically threatens me with it. If I get in trouble, she'll be like "remember the time you took nudes?" And blah blah blah. What should I do?

Question: My dad wants to take my mom to court for full custody of me my mom is a stay at home and my dad is a worker will that affect anything?

I'm 19 and my brother is 23. I got into some trouble and asked my brother to help me sort it out. We both ended up getting arrested and spent the night in jail. I got out on bond but they kept him in jail because he was already on probation. I feel real guilty because he only did what he did to try and help me out and now he is in jail. I can't even visit him because we are co-defendants and can't be in contact. My parents blame him for getting me into trouble but it wasn't like that. They won't go and visit him either.

Ok to be clear my mom died when i was 16 and i was the one at home when at home when it happened and i did not hear her fall i called 911 after my grandmother found her on the floor seizing. Well later she died due to a brain hemorrhage that doctors couldn't save her from as it was to late. Anyway afterwards things changed my grandma got custody (my dad abandoned us years ago) of me and for the next two years she made it very clear that i was lucky that she chose to take me in and not ship me off to my uncle in Charlestown. She yelled at me and even cursed at me at times for very minor things to the point i would cry. A year after my mom died i was diagnosed with depression and diabetes but my grandmother kept trying to make it about her (i also have a stomach issue) and that even though i can't do certain things with my stomach problems (like stray to far from the bathroom) she claims that she is the one who has the issues. We was in the er once for the issue and she told me i was not allowed to have my phone all because someone who i told i was going to the er had started a rumor. She used to yell at me until i cried and has even given hints which make me think she blames me such as making me feel guilty every time we talk about my mom. I'm 18 now but cannot afford to move out thank goodness that she has since stopped and idk is that normal what she did to me?

i'm 12 turning 13 this june. my older sister who is 21 is petty, sloppy, and just weird. i sometimes tell her to pass me something if she's close to it and she'll say i'm an "annoying *****". then i just say never mind and get it later. she also thinks i'm trying to grow up but i'm not. people say i'm a "beautiful young lady", but i still consider myself a child or a kid. i like to get my nails done every once in a while, but i get them short and i dont get dark colors at all. and i have a little bit of makeup that even my mom allows me to wear for special occasions or parties, nothing dark or heavy. and she still thinks i try to grow up. she says i'm not allowed to wear makeup. if i wear mascara she'll yell at me. my mom sometimes too because its only for parties. but all i wear is macara and chapstick or lip balm. i don't understand. i don't want to grow up fast. i like hanging out with my friends and my mom is okay with it but if my sister over hears me asking she'll say, "so you think you're grown to go out with your friends?" Question: How to feel if you family that put you down and get away with it?

First off, I'm not a teenager. I'm an adult who is about to turn 30. I'm a guy. I'm fed up getting attitude from my mom. I'm tired of getting ignored at her at times and her snapping at me. I don't know if I can say I moved on but I did leave my folks house recently on bad terms. I work and then go home. I don't have friends. Sometimes, I'll even go to the gym to work out which is where I'm currently at. I clean the house when I can. I help babysit my 2 nieces when they're at my folks house at times. My mom thinks all I care about is inheritance when her and my dad pass away and I told her because I left, "I don't care about my inheritance," which is true. My dad almost wanted to divorce my mom a couple months ago because she will even give him attitude. Aside from my mom, I'll get put down by my dad. My sisters have treated me like garbage too as they have always treated their friends and my cousins way better than me. I have no clue where the heck I'll stay tonight or for the next few nights at beyond. I only want to go back to my folks place to get the rest of my belongings but I don't want to get harmed by dad who has weapons in his bedroom. I do plan on going to my job this Wednesday as it's the next time that I'm scheduled for work this week. My mom always denied putting me down and giving me attitude when she does. I seriously don't care about going there for food, to watch TV or go on a computer or anything else. I'm tired getting put down and getting attitude from her. She plays innocent when I stand up for myself. I do my own laundry. I'm just done getting disrespected by all of my family. Where I'll go, I have no clue. I may find a hotel or motel to stay at tonight and for the next few days.

So my mom needs a vanity for her vanity. And they can't just buy one cuz apparently she "needs" all these different lights and mirrors and storage that a store bought one won't have. Well the one at our old house was fine and that was from a store! So now my dad got this dumb idea that he'll make if cuz he's not made anything for a while. He's not exactly a master craftsmen. he could get somebody else to make it but nooooo he thinks it'll be nice to make it himself. I wouldn't care so much if he didn't decide that I need to help. He said its about time I learned these things for the future. Lol if my wife wanted some fancy vanity I would throw her out of my house and then she'd be doing her makeup in a homeless shelter bathroom . Okay so when I was twelve my parents adopted a baby boy and and named him after my dad, Darrell. Well my name was also Daryl after my dad (in a girl btw) and I said no I don't want the name as everyone guy in the house so my parents let me change my name to anything I wanted which they helped me settle on Winter Rose, because Rose is a family name and I was born in the winter season. Now fast forward I'm 17, I turn 18 this year and I absolutely hate my name wig every piece of me. My parents will be mad if I change it but at the end of the day my happiness with my life long name is all that matters to me, especially since I'm moving to La at the end of the year and wanna change it before I move. I thought I was born in the Winter season but it turns out I was born BEFORE winter so my name makes no since at all. (Early December) I wanna keep my middle name Rose since it's a family name but haven't decided on the first name. Do you think it's a good idea? I just want something beautiful, unique, and modern. I really like the name amethyst .I just wish my parents would have waited for me to pick my name til I was older and more mature to choose. My parents have a very volatile marriage. Dad cheated several times. Was neglectful of me when I was a kid. Then had a baby with a woman while he was married to my mom. They didn't divorce, which upset my sisters mom and she killed herself after giving birth to my sister. My dad took my sister in and tried to parent her, but I don't think it worked out so good. My mom has never acknowledged my sister, despite my sister thinking of her as her mom. It's very tense and has been upsetting for my sister. I try to be a good big sister to her, but there have been obstacles in the way, mainly my mom. She's not happy about my sister being born and now that my dad is dying (he has weeks left, maybe less), she's already announced my sister will be going as soon as he's dead. My dad only has an elderly, sick father, so my sister will end up in care. I feel like my life is falling apart. If my sister were to end up with someone from her moms family, I'll never get to see her, because they hate me for being my mom and dads kid. And God knows where and who she will end up with if she's fostered. I'm only 16, so there's not a lot I can do. Any advice? I hate this whole situation. I almost wish I'd never bonded with her. It wouldn't hurt this much. My sister is 6, btw.

It's been almost 2 years now and he STILL hasn't let me meet the fam. I mean, I've seen his mother (for like 5 seconds) and one of his brothers at school, but we never spoke to each other before. My son had his 5th birthday party at a local Chuck E Cheese on February 7th, 2016. My grandma came and started talking down about his hair style (Oh you really are keeping his hair like that, he looks like a girl). Then my aunt follows right after and says the same thing right in front of him. My grandmother is white and my son is mixed as am I. She does not like any kind of ethnic or natural hair styles. My sons hair was in a curly afro with his edges gel down and lined in the front. They taunted him about his hair style throughout this two hour party more than four times. During the end of the party while going back to the table my grandma grabbed my son and would not let him go when he said stop grandma and then started messing up his hair right in front of the guest and other family members saying "Ugh your hair was so ugly like that and you looked like a girl and now it looks better". I also tried to grab my son once I seen what she was doing and she was trying to strong arm him to not let him go and continue ruining his hair. She thought others would make fun of him or something she said before doing this but after this she made my son cry and said grandma is making fun of me and made me feel bad. She did the very thing she thought total strangers would do plus blatantly messed up his hair during his party without a care to anyone. Now she has not talked to either of us since that day and want to know if I should feel bad about not bringing my son around her. She has not even called or attempted to apologize since this happened. My son does not want to be around her either because he says grandma made me cry and made fun of me.

I recently kicked myself out of my folks house. It's about time I get out of their house anyway since I'm 29. I'm tired of getting attitude from my mom. If I say, "Hi mom, how are you?" she'll give me attitude or just simply ignore me. I get criticized for how I dress to even the job I have which I know I can't work at forever, since it's part-time and the company is not doing too well financially. My mom thinks it's very simple to get a new job and any kind of job. I know I'm too old to be living at my folks house but I cause no problems. I go to my job and then go home or I'll go to the gym. I have no friends in my life. I don't cause any kind of trouble. I don't even have a criminal record. I have no addictions. I can't nor do I want to go back to my folks house except to get my other belongings. my sister judges me so much and I'm so annoyed with it. the biggest problem is that when I have feelings for someone, I'm way too afraid to tell anyone. Im not really sure what to do in this situation. I share split custody with my sons father (50/50) he gets my son for 7 days and i get him for 7 days (i hate it). He is suppose to have my son on insurance but he refuses so I have my son on medicaid. My sons father just recently moved out of his mothers house and into an apartment I have noticed my sons behavior has gotten really bad and very hyper and does not pay attention when he comes back to my house. (he is 6 years old). The other day i went to drop my son off at his dads...when his father opened the door a cloud of smoke came out and smelled of marijuana. Can he get in trouble for this? I know he would smoke before but he said he quit. What can i do? I dont want my son around that. I do not want his clothes smelling when he goes to school. I live in Georgia, I just turned 17 years old and I m junior in high school and she s a freshman and 15 1/2. Her fathers wife left when she was young, which now lives in the north with a family and now he uses her for everything. Taxes, getting groceries, bringing the laundry to the laundry place, even made her fill out house applications(they want to be closer to the school) basically he doesn t do anything. Hate is a strong word but I honestly hate her. She is 5 years younger than me so people assume I'm just jealous of her but that isn't the case at all. Well my Mom hates my bf! We have never had a good relationship, and now it's much worse! Like I'll come back from his house and she'll call me a whore, and say nobody will ever want me. So my little brother and sister has this electronic kitchen play set in their room, and last night it started beeping by itself. Later, my little sister said she went to the bathroom and the light in the kitchen was on (note that this was like 1:00 in the morning) and when she came out, the light was off. This morning I told my mom, and she said that the kitchen play set beeped like that 7 years ago when my great grandmother passed away. I keep telling myself that it's probably a coincidence, but I can't help wondering. Is my great grandmother watching over my little siblings?

Hi! I'm Maddie and I'm thirteen years old. My mom is 36, turning 37 soon. She's been married once to my dad, but that didn't work out very well and got divorced. My stepdad, who's 34. He's very controlling and thinks that our house is his. Yes, he has his name on most of the bills and stuff like that. My mom actually has her name on the phone bills and heat bills, though. Anyway, He's been very controlling. He calls my mom things like c**t, bi*ch, h*e, etc. He's always had a kind of good relationship with his ex wife. My Mom thinks that he's cheating. His ex has been verbally abusive to my mother for a very long time. He is much more friendly to his ex than with my mother. My mom had a house and he moved in, and we've been in that house for years. My mom had her name on most things in the house. We recently moved. My mom thinks she can't leave him because she's trapped. He controls how much money she can spend and he keeps it in his wallet. When she wants to buy something he either approves or disapproves, even with the smallest things. Yet he can buy everything he wants. He bought a huge flagpole, a pool, and a plow. My mom can't even get a makeup kid or a necklace when she wants because my stepdad! It's like he won't let her leave. She's a grown woman, she can do whatever she wants! I'm sick of him abusing her. Oh, he also got her into smoking and swearing. If she leaves, he'll have all her money and she'll be broke. Please help me! I understand that there's not much I can do about it, but my mom is becoming depressed because of him. My once happy, strong mother is turning into and emotional wreck. I need help.

How do I overcome this and not be judged by the cousins. I am still a minor and my mother gets mad when I contact any of them on Facebook as she doesn't have anything against my cousins but doesn't want their parents knowing anything about me or her. They are all vacationing together in Florida this week for spring break and my mother, siblings, and I are the only ones not there. Even though I see my cousins on my Dad and step-mother's families alot I feel bad I don't on my mother's side. We live about 45 minutes away but even on social media my mother makes me take the contacts down (she requires we have her on our Facebook friend's list and use her email as a family). Anyone have any advise? I have seen recent questions from people with similar problems of parents and extended family fighting so if your one of them answer also. I really want to be able to be close with these relatives including my mother's brothers and father whom she doesn't let us see (my grandmother and one aunt are all she lets us see). Like a step-sibling, aunt, uncle, grandparent, cousin, etc...... This being if the speaking ill about the person happens frequently. I often hear speaking ill to a child about the other parent after a divorce is abuse but what about when the parent is mad at a aunt, uncle, grandparent, etc....

So I'm genuinely concerned for my mother. it's not that I want to judge her, but I just don't agree with her decisions and I feel like she makes too many bad choices impulsively. I hate feeling like this, she should be the one worrying about her daughter and not the other way around. Anyway, here's the story: She wants to have another child, but with her current boyfriend. I wouldn't care, but she suffers from chronic high blood pressure and also she's 42, I truly believe that it will only lead to serious complications or worst case scenerio, death. It really scares me that she's willing to risk something like that just to give her current boyfriend a baby. She actually got pregnant earlier this year but miscarried and just recently I accidently saw another pregnancy test in her drawer when i was looking for her nail clippers. I don't understand how she can just keep trying despite the horrible thing that already happened and despite all the risks. I know she's my mom and I can't tell her what to do but I don't want to lose my mom or see her go through bad things and complications and see her possibly suffering. I've tried to talk to her but she doesn't even care what I have to say, it's like all she cares about is her boyfriend. Any advice on how to get to her or make her understand my concern? Thank you.

I was a senior & dating a girl in hs. We lasted a year with no sex since she said she wanted to wait (claimed to be a virgin). I had no choice but to wait. She left to college and i stayed home. We broke up but remained friends. We'd still talk but only through social media. I'd then see her upload pics of her drinking, partying, dirty dancing with dudes, sitting on dudes laps posing for the camera. A year later she moves back home because she missed everyone. She called me one day (she's moved back home at this point) and invited me to lunch. I said ok and we hung out. We started to talk/kiss and hold hands. I however wanted to know if she dated/slept around since it's been a year. I asked if she dated? and she said "nothing serious". I asked how far she got? and she moved her eyes side to side and to the back of her skull (what people do when something gets annoying). I re-asked her and she speed walked and started to sing a song to avoid my question. I then admitted i slept with one girl and that was it. She looked pissed and said "so that's it? just one girl?". We got into it and she said to never bother her again or she'll call the cops. She blocked me on all social medias. I never heard from her again it's been months now. Needless to say do you think she slept around or no?....

I desperately need advice. i work at home full time with a very stressful job. I dont have much flexibility and I have to work. I have twin 10 year olds and I feel guilty all the time. I dont have time to go on vacations more than once a year, or go to the beach, or do "fun stuff" during summer or breaks. They are basically here at home, playing outside, swimming in our pool, or doing something at home. I feel all this guilt because it seems everyone around me is a stay at home mom with more activities and trips planned than hours in a day, more trips to Disney than one should ever experience, and nothing but time. My kids have never been to Disney, and i am not sure we will ever go. Please if anyone has any advice or words of encouragement, I am in desperate need. Its Spring Break this week, and I am working all week, and the kids are here. i have planned a couple of short activities away from the house, but again the guilt is killing me, because all their friends are away on some wonderful vacation. I see on Facebook, numerous friends that have adult children and grandchildren scattered across the U.S. and my friends are flying here and there several times a year to see their children and also take their own trips together as a couple. Travel is not cheap, but of course, if they are staying at their children's homes, then they are saving on the cost of a hotel. But, still, plane tickets, etc., food is still expensive. Sometimes I wonder how their budgets allow for all this travel.

Okay so I just typed it out, and I had -21334 characters. And there's no other way to summarize it. But, my mom is a 43 year old woman who is overall attractive. She cheats on my dad, smokes marijuana and has considered doing meth (not sure if she has), drinks until she is throwin up and passing out, leaves on Fridays and Saturday and doesn't come back until Sunday night or even Monday sometimes, almost killed herself many times, said she was going to shoot herself with my dads gun, abandonded me, my 6 year old brother at the time, my 9 year old sister at the time, my 17 year old sister at the time, and I was 14. So if someone could shoot me their email or kik or anything and I could tell the the full story in detail and they can give me feedback, even if you're not a legit social worker you're just someone who is curious I am more than happy to tell you about my psychotic mother. Yesterday I vacuumed half of our flat and then I was out most of the day since it's spring break. At eleven she finished cleaning bathroom and asked me to clean cats toilet if it will smell. Then she went to wash her hair. She left bathroom door open so she has air I guess, and at 1pm I got ready for bed and only went to take charger so my phone alarm rings in the morning and she said: Cat **** smells. I said that it's really late and I'm ready for bed so no. If she asked me nicely I'd do it, but she has no right to order me. At least not until she starts doing her obligations(never goes to college classes or exams and doesn't want to recieve help). This morning she was already in bathroom and I knocked and asked her if she can tell me how long will she be in there so I can organize myself. She didn't asnwer and finally she angrily opened door and said: You didn't care about me yesterday, now I won't care about you. I got really angry because she never cares about anyone and I was still nice to her. Trust me she's second most selfish and self centered person I know-first one is my father(thanks God he doesn't live with us).I have many bad memories thanks to her 'caring'.I yelled that then I really won't care about her and then she'll see what it's like. My moms whole side of the family is just different. They have hurt me multiple times and when I confront them about it they get defensive and belittle me. She and my little sisters went on a vacation to Florida without me, but my aunt and cousin got to go. My mom told me about it only a week beforehand. Wanting to be happy for them, I bottles up my feelings. But last night I couldn't stop crying about it. Why would they go on vacation and not even invite me? I texted her last night asking why she didn't invite me and she only replied "not wise to miss nursing school". Ok that may be true but isn't that my decision to make for myself? Who is she to decide to exclude me and not even invite me to their vacation? The problem with my mom is she gets really defensive. So I feel like if I say "that's my decision to make not yours" I won't get anywhere with this. What can I say to get her to talk about why she really didn't invite me and get her to understand how hurtful of a thing she did?

I was in class, and the boy who sits next to me (we have assigned seats) was joking to his friend who sits in front of him that he always flirts with her and didn't even realize that she had a boyfriend. Then another girl joked "(boy's name) you flirt with everyone." He then turned to the person sitting next to him on the other side, and pointed to me and said "I don't flirt with her, she's about the only one I wouldn't flirt with." He didn't say it loud enough so that the whole class could hear but, I could still hear me. I'm very quiet and shy and I don't talk at all during that class, and he's very outgoing, and on top of that I'm fat and ugly, so that's probably why he hates me. No boys ever like me. Do you think he was being rude or was he just joking and I'm taking it too serious?

I am 29 but he is 22 and getting help for alcohol problems. He is on medicine now for Bipolar Depression but seems more depressed then before in terms of little interest in interacting. My older brother tried to commit suicide at 20 so the issue is a real risk and that brother was religious and a scrupulous, this brother is not religious and not at all scrupulous. So if my older brother almost killed himself in 2005 then I fear this brother will now. How do I know and how can suicide be prevented? This brother now never talks about his problems which is why he turned to alcoholism for a while and why he is a higher risk then the older brother.
