I'm a college student and I'm visiting home for spring break. My family doesn't like weed, so I've been looking for ways to do it without them knowing. They are all out of the house for a few hours, so if I smoke in the backyard, will the smell still be there by the time they get back?

I have 3 sisters (2 older) and I've been the only guy in the house since my father moved out around 7-8 years ago. My mother can be harsh at times but I don't remember my sisters ever being angry with me. Even when they should be they just aren't. It's weird because they can be really mean to each other at times

My family doesn't seem to notice what I do (I like doing artsy stuff like drawing and editing) because my brother recently went to college and is playing baseball and it's all my family can talk about but I'm afraid to tell them that I'm jealous that I never get noticed for anything I do because I don't want to get them mad and make them think I'm jealous. Also my hormones are going crazy because even though this is TMI I really don't care but I'm really close to getting my period so I'm really moody. Everyday I'm angry about something and I just can't stand it anymore. I want someone to show me that they have faith in me for what I do. I'm trying in all my power to bring up my grades but it's really hard. What do I do? Someone please help me because I'm struggling. Don't leave any rude comments, I'm annoyed enough as it is.

I'm 22 and live away from home. I have been on probation for a year but got arrested a week ago and have new charges and have violated my probation. My girlfriend bailed me out of jail but I have to go back to court next week and know I will be going to jail for a while. I've given my mom 13,000$ over the last two years and she is getting her tax returns back and she says she's getting like 8,000$ back, so she was going to try to start paying people back who she owes money to. She said she'd start off with probably only like 500 a month because she's really really in debt and I was gonna just go ahead and take it... But then my roommate said I shouldn't take the money back because she would probably just have to ask for it back again and it would just make her feel bad about herself and give me false hope. Ok i live in an abusive household.. I mentioned once to my counselor that i was afraid that my dad was going to beat me.. Then i messages Texas Dep. Of Family Protection on facebook but I only gave them my name and the town i live in. I was hoping they would come and help me but I was angry when i told them. I've been abused for a couple years. The lady from protective services left a phone card on the door. She wrote a note on the back.. she said that she wants to talk about a case involving my family. Recently my little brother has turned into a different person. He is paranoid about everything, he is an asshole to both me and my parents, has an incredibly mean sense of humor, he has a twitch that happens only sometimes, he feels he is entitled to everything and has very little regard for people's personal belongings. I recently woke up because of some ghost type **** that happened in my room (I think my house is haunted but that's not the point.)while I had a rough night of sleep, he has been absolutely unable to sleep in his own room and is absolutely terrified of it. Even after I lied and said I had been joking, he still moves into my parents room every night. He has been late to school many mornings because he cannot get out of bed. This morning, he had an episode where he cursed at both of my parents and became hysterical. They threatened to get him checked at the doctors and he started screaming I'm sorry and then went to the bathroom to puke. It was scary and I'm sick of him treating us so horribly. He refuses to go to a doctor so it's not looking like he will be diagnosed any time soon. What could be wrong with him? What should we do?

He is always wanting to go to his grandmothers. Any time he is with my boyfriend who is his dad and me is always asking to go to his grandmothers. He also does this when he is with his mother. My boyfriend does work odd shifts. He will work 6-2 one week. 2-10 the next and then 10-6 the following. Like a swing shift. So he is at his grandmothers a lot. However, the other night my boyfriend got him at 10 when he got off work and he came home to sleep and then the next morning which was suppose to be their time together my boyfriend said he complained the whole time not being at his grandmother and kept asking when they were going to leave. And the other day my boyfriend got off work at 6 am. He slept till in the morning and got up in the afternoon. My boyfriend was going to have me watch him over night so he wouldn't be at his grandmothers but in his own with his own bed. He doesn't have his own room at his grandmas. So my boyfriend picked up and we went out to eat and still the whole the time he said he didn't want to stay the night at our house but at his grandmothers. My boyfriend is at lost at what to do about this? He appreciates his mother watching him so much but we don't understand why he complains the whole time. He has everything he could ever want. And we always let him watch what he wants on TV and we always play with him and let him go outside to ride his bike and everything. What is suggestions

First off, let me say that I love my father very much. He works hard for his money and he takes care of my family well. But my father has a bad temper and it's upsetting to see him during his rage. He is not an alcoholic or a smoker and he does not abuse anyone in my family. He rarely tells us when something is bothering him. Instead, it is revealed to us during his "fits". He will be fine all day and when one thing goes wrong he snaps. For example, today we were doing some yard work when he stepped in a pile of dog poop. It's natural to be angry because it's a crappy situation. (pun intended) But most people are able to calm themselves down shortly. My dad doesn't. Instead he carried on like a little kid stomping his feet, throwing things, cursing and screaming for several minutes. And he chased the dog around the yard with a shovel saying he was going to kill her and how much he hates her. Our dog did nothing wrong, she pooped in the yard where she is trained to. I'm not sure if that was the best example, but my family agrees that something is wrong. We try to tell him to calm down and help solve the problem but he won't listen to us. We are all growing tired of his fits and he refuses to seek help because he doesn't think it's a problem. He has acted this way before in front of my friends and I'm embarrassed that they had to see it. It's come to the point where I don't invite friends over because I don't want them to see it happen. I recently married a wonderful woman who is dealing with a lot of family issues. The primary one is an overcontrolling father. When we were discussing getting married with him, he brought forward the fact that my wife (who was adopted at the age of 14) was given a fund by her adoptive grandmother, knowing her odds of receiving higher education were slim, as a way to help her get her life started upon getting married. The total of this sum is about $14,000. The father said upon marriage, he would write a check with the amount in it so that it could be used to help us start out. Upon getting married, my wife was upset about her adoptive parents lack of wedding gift (not even a card) and lack of payment for anything at the wedding, and asked what her dad was doing with her fund. He then said he refused to give it to her as it was his money, and that we could not be trusted with it. My question is; is he abusing his power of being placed in charge of this fund, and as a husband, is there anything I can do to intervene? This family has played favorites with the biological children over the adopted, and I am on the verge of throwing up my hands and walking away from him and the money, which my wife is fine with. He is also hesitant to hand over items such as her birth certificate, revised birth certificate after adoption, passports (dual citizenship due to immigration), and social security card. Any advice would be wonderful!

My cousin started treating me like crap Monday. She was just being rude. I told her I would call around 10 since I had missed her call earlier in the day. My son is 15 months old. We live with my boyfriend and have been for 3 months. Some days he's fine but recently he's been crying non stop. He throws the biggest fit whenever my boyfriend tries to play with him, pick him up, soothe him, anything. But it's ONLY when I'm around! He watches my son on Friday's and will send me pictures and videos of him playing and having a good time. Everybody is different and has different personalities. Growing up as a young child, it was a lot of fun, but rough once I hit middle school and high school. I am working on a new charity project where I make hats,toys and blankets for babies in need. I am making good progress with it. Last night I saw the prettiest shooting star. I am an astronomy enthusiast but I have never seen one so beautiful. The ones I typically shoot so fas it's only an after thought that I saw one. When I saw it last night it was a white bright slow moving star. I hadn't realized my sister never saw one so it was a magical experience. I often talk to my Grammy who passed away several years ago. Just keeping her updated about my life and sometimes I ask her for guidence ( she always knew the right thing to say). Any who I was telling her that I'm sad I won't get a phone call from her on my birthday ( It's this Sunday) and that I miss her. My younger sister asked me if I believe in heaven and I said I think I do but we were just being trivial talking about where it is and that's when we saw a shooting star and felt so peaceful. I have a brother, sister in law, niece and nephew who live 1,000 miles away. I see them once per year. I knew that my SIL, niece and nephew were planning to come to my city (my brother told me generally), but I didn't know when. Now my SIL emailed me, letting me know that they'll be in town for 4 days next week and saying that I'm welcome to join them for anything. I'd love to see them. Next week, though, is just crazy; I have multiple huge work deadlines and would expect to work 8am-9pm those days. How to balance this without offending my family members? Is telling them that I can do breakfast each day but otherwise can take short breaks and join them at places nearby for lunch or the like OK? Thanks.

I'm mentioning a few situations in which she became abusive: Situation 1- About 2 years ago, I was suffering from fever. My parents made an appointment with the doctor. I went to change into fresh clothes. I wore black pants and a purple shirt. When I came out of the changing room, I saw that my dad was also wearing black trousers and a purple shirt (COINCIDENCE). My mother saw this and DEMANDED that I change my dress since its not PROPER for a father and a daughter to wear the same colour combination. The purple shirt which I was wearing was given to me by my mother a week back. Well, after she told me to change, she took the purple shirt back, saying that I already have a lot of clothes and I don't need it. Situation 2- My parents and I were having tea. My dad was sitting on a rug on the floor, my mom was sitting on the bed and I was standing. Suddenly, my mom started glaring at me and told me to sit down on the bed. When I gave her a perplexed look and asked why, she got up swiftly, started using abusive language, started punching and kicking me, and forced me on the floor. I was stunned for a few minutes. When my dad walked out of the room, my mom explained that since I was standing and dad was sitting, it wasn't good for me to stand since my breasts were in direct line of my dad's eyes (if that makes any sense). I was too shocked to cry. Situation 3 (Happened today)- My moisturizer bottle was empty, and I knew that my dad keeps bottles of coconut oil to apply in his hair. So I took a little oil and applied it on my hands since they were a little dry. A few hours later, my mom asked me which oil I had applied. I said coconut oil. She asked me where I had taken it from. I told her that I took it from an old bottle in dad's room. She punched and abused me, and told me that daughter NEVER enter their fathers' rooms. So, questions for you all: 1. these days teenagers are getting a lot of help and benefits of all sorts(financial, educational, other free things). more than what people have had. this is why ageing bothers me. it's like i wish could stay at this young age(in my 20's). it's just right, but even then i'm still a little jealous of teenagers. and also to grow old, day by day. you wanna live a long time and stay young too of course. you wanna do a lot of things, without the disadvantages of being "older" stopping you along the way. it honestly feels like there is not enough time

I am a 23 year old senior in college who is taking 18 credit hours this semester. I love her and my family dearly but I ve been running errands for them all week and just can t relax. Tomorrow I drive back to the city to teach a workshop but afterwards I m thinking of just spending the rest of the week alone in my apartment instead of going back to my family. My sister can stay with my Grandma but I m worried that it s selfish of me to feel that way. I just feel stressed. I know someday I will look back on this and be grateful for my time with her but I just feel too tired to give anymore.

Hello. I am a 24 year old currently living in Ireland; I am a homosexual and I have a boyfriend (22) who I have been with for nearly four and a half years now. Our relationship is relatively perfect until it comes down to the ideas of sexual intercourse. Let me start off by saying, my boyfriend can be a bit controlling. He loves perfection, gets easily annoyed or quick to throw a tantrum if he doesn't get his way or what he wants. Neither of us a virgins, but he seems to have a fondness to pain during intercourse, whereas I tend to like to take things slow and cautious. He gets mad at me because I refuse to do things like bite or scratch him, hit him and be rough. So mad that on a few occasions he has slapped me and left the bedroom or the house completely, when I refuse. He is something of a treasure to me and the thought of hurting him or causing him pain, even if it is for pleasure, really tears me down. I would hate to see any marks on him come from my hands and he hates that I am not doing just that. This morning he told me if I can't give him what he wants, then he will leave me for certain and I don't want to loose him over something like a difference in sexual needs. He's upset with me and on the verge of leaving. How do I get over my fears of doing these things to him? How can I allow myself to let go of those fears to give him that gratification that he is asking for? I can't loose him. He is my very life. My uncles wife-My mothers brothers wife is a aquarious woman -They just had a baby daughter 6 months back and they dont treat the baby properly- They have kept a maid for the baby and the baby is always on maid- My aunt is evil woman with a dark past -she is 41 , She has no respect for anyone and pretends to be nice with my mother and father. I hate her as deep inside she is evil, .She had a broken marriage earlier and had a baby girl and she left that child with her first husband-she is so hearhless The baby is not looked after properly and it kills me when the maid stuffs food in the baby mouth and she cries a lot. My aunt is in her self ,she is manipulative ,mind games ,cheap tricks .My aunt and uncle have a 12years old son who is also very bad-he is jelious of the baby and i fear he can hurt her. Me and my mom we will helpless because we cant do much-The baby belongs to her but it doest mean she can treat the baby the way she wants ,The maid is always in hurry and my aunt is in her life My uncle is working 5 days a week. The husband and wife r giving importance to themselves and there son only. I never liked aqua women-they are evil-what can i do. I feel like I'm living in an ongoing nightmare. Four years ago I got sick due to a jealous female doctor and the state taking over my health! I deserve justice for what they did to me turning into this mutant but I know I'll never get it. My mother thinks this guy talks to her through thr internet and is bipolar. She's nice one minute and the next god awful. I love her harder thinking it will make her better but it doesn't. I'm always there for her over small idiotic things but when I cry when one person destroyed my life forever nothing. My sister is abusive towards her and she coddles her and treats her nice when I treat her nice and she treats me like crap. My heart is failing due to the fact she literally every single day for months on end violently repeadtly screamed on purpose over her ex boyfriend who abused her and took money from the family and abused us. I'm an ethnically Japanese girl, but I was born in America. have lived here my whole life. My parents immigrated here a little before I was born. They have Japanese views on who I should marry (someone else pure Japanese). I ended up falling for a white guy. My parents have never approved. it hurts my feelings a lot.. I know they're hoping we break up, but we're never going to. The other week he proposed to me and I said yes. I love him. I want to spend the rest of my life with him. I know my parents sound racist, but it's something they grew up in. My parents really are great parents, but I want them to understand that even know he's not Japanese he's still the best man out there for me. I want them to know even though our kids will be only half Japanese they will still be beautiful. How can I get them to understand that?

My 9 year old cousin i share a room with is up all night watching vids, and wont sleep without the tv and im getting really 0 hours of sleep..and migraines constantly from the constant noise and light. even on school nights she stays up until 1 am on youtube and cannot sleep without a tv and it would be okay if she fell asleep to the inappropiate and LOUD videos, but she stays up alert watching them all night and i dont even get to wake up until 11 or 12 in the day and then i feel so lazy..and tired. im staying here bc im kicked out this is my only home and also her parents are obsessed with their kids and get mad if anyone tries to give them advice. their son is struggling in middle school bc they refuse to accept he needs special accomodation. there is no couch to sleep on. or other bed. what should i do WITHOUT telling her mom she wont stfu at night?

I'm getting married but I don't know what to do about the father walking me down the aisle or the father daughter dance. There is the thing my bio dad has never been a big part of my life. Only seen him 2-5 a year a most. My grandpa has always been a huge part of my life. And always have me everything I needed. He never let me go without. He always found away. I'm 16 I was raised by my uncle after I was born he treated me like a drug mule and his taste tester after he was arrested I was bounced around from one abusive foster home to the next and endured things I can't even talk about in person. I've done bad things to survive and I know there is no excuse. for them. When I met my dad he turned out to be a career criminal and a serial rapist (he had a habit of drugging women one of them my mother) and I ended up learning certain criminals skills because of him. Anyway my dad told me I had a twin sister and my mom just abandoned me for no reason but to punish me for being born. Until recently I only had his word to go on but I got in contact with my mother and got a VERY differnt story. My sister and I were taken from her and she only got one back. Suffice it to say I'm going to leave my dad to live with them and I'm terrified. I don't know why I just... I've been through a lot but I've never been more afraid than I am now. I keep worrying that they wont like me that I'll let them down. I worry I won't be a good daughter or sister. It's crazy my sister and I are very different she's a preppy girl I'm a goth drug addict whose just got back on the wagon. So for the past 20 minutes my brother has been telling me to go take a shower because "my dad wants me to". So I went into the bathroom and found his phone hidden under a towel in front of the mirror flipped around so that he could watch me undress. I think he has a crush on me. What should I do? We've been together for the past 3 years and I just can't take it anymore, she allows her family to disrespect me, call me names and she doesn't even address it. The day of my sons birth me and her mother had a very bad disagreement which led to her uncles showing up at the hospital trying to confront me on the issue which questions her loyalty towards me. I feel like she allows the men and women in her family to disrespect me when I've been there for her for the past 3 years when they all turned their backs on her after finding out she was pregnant. I've had my life threatened numerous times by her uncles and family members yet she refuses to address them in any shape or form. I've tried to ignore it but they have ruined a day I will never get back in my life and that's the day my son was born. She constantly says "no one cares about her feelings" yet I've been there the entire time. so i want to work in game creation. my only problem is that my dad doesnt care for games. he wants me to be a lawyer or an engineer. he thinks i only like them because they are loud shooting games when i do pay attention to the story and detail. no matter what he says im still going for my dream but the reason im worried was because we were in a store once and some guy who was his age buys a game and says i might call out of work to play this. The whole day all he did was make fun of the guy for being his age and playing games. i try to tell him i like the story and etc but he always laughs and thinks im joking even if i prove im serious.i have shown him i take this seriousely ive shown him job applications of what is needed and i even take courses that are involved. Im in highschool but soon to college. I just want some advice so i wont get nervous to tell him. thnx

My family has become really poor and living in an expensive city takes a lot of work. My father is significantly older than my mother because they got married in a 3rd world country and came to the US as immigrants. I m a low-income child with many requests and needs. I m the smart student of the class but usually beyond that happy smile of good grades lies my personal life which is very much darker. My little sister isn t very smart and is often treated far worse than me. She doesn t learn anything the right way, so she is forced to learn through us giving answers and/or us verbally or physically pushing her to do work. My dad can t work right now as he is sick and my mom is the one making money, and she doesn t make a lot. I frequently get into arguments with my parents, have 1 other school to go to after regular school ends. As a 7th grader I have no idea how to handle this all. Considering my dad s age I will soon have to become the man of the family. And with all these upcoming difficulties my family and I will have to face I fear it will only lead to the destruction of us all. But now through this entire experience I ve only learned one thing, money is the root of ALL evil. If my family had more money here wouldn t be any arguments, or fights or any of that. My dream is to make it to college and get a good job to sustain my life as well as my family.. And without being in the right circumstances to earn a scholarship I fear I won t be able to do anything at all.
