Question: Thoughts on a Blue and White wedding dress? Posted: 21 Jul 2015 11:37 PM PDT I just don't like the idea of a simple white dress it just bores me and they all look the same to ME. So I've been thinking about white dressing fading into blue Opinions? Anyone else do a not just white wedding dress? |
Question: How many sexual partners is common for a woman to have before settling down (Marriage)? Posted: 21 Jul 2015 10:29 PM PDT Consider that the average age of getting married for a woman these days is 28-32 |
Question: How to get her to stop trying to force me to wear white!? Posted: 21 Jul 2015 10:03 PM PDT Me and my fiance are planning our wedding, even though we haven't set a date yet which is good because it means that I'll have more time to design our wedding stuff (my wedding dress/his tux & our wedding parties dresses and tuxes) When my mom found out that I would NOT be wearing white she flipped out on me! (I hate white and refuse to wear it, for one I'm not traditional and for two it's overrated) so instead of shutting up and accepting it, my mother is constantly sending me pictures of ugly white dresses and telling the rest of my family, "Lexi picked out a beautiful white dress" and shows them a picture that she saw! When they ask me about it, I say " not to listen to her because she's lying about what my dress is going to look like" When my mom finds out what I tell them she again flips out and starts yelling at me saying, "why can't I be normal and wear white" in which I reply, " I have always hated white, I'm not traditional and because it's my day, so I will not wear it" It's gotten so bad that I actually had to block my mom from my fb and my phone, because she won't stop bothering me about not wearing white! |
Question: Why have Bachelor/Bachelorette Parties? Posted: 21 Jul 2015 09:01 PM PDT I understand that before couples get married they have their bachelor/bachelorette parties, but I dont find them a good idea.. The guys will always most likely go to a strip club.. Like, what if a guy meets a girl there?? then he would cal of the wedding! Its scary; I wouldnt want my future husband going to a strip club before we get married.. And same for girls but girls, I feel girls will keep their word and not mess around as much as guys. This is my opinion of course and its probably a silly one, but its just a thought that came to my mind when I think about marriage..(or engagement). Yeah. So are they usually a good idea? or is it just a tradition thing? |

Question: Is it to tacky to have pizza at a wedding? Posted: 21 Jul 2015 05:53 PM PDT I was at a wedding last Christmas and the meal was something really posh I'm getting married next year and I'm thinking of having pizza. |
Question: Fiancé at pre-wedding (non-hen s) lunch? Posted: 21 Jul 2015 05:28 PM PDT My fiancé and I are getting married in Greece in September, and I am having 'lunch with the girls' this weekend with all the girls who have been invited to the wedding. There are 3x gay guys coming, they are actually coming to the wedding and I've known them many many years (20+), and are part of our group of closest closest friends who we discuss relationships, life etc. with. It's standard practice within our circle of friends to invite these lovely guys to any of the girls things, they don't go ever go to the straight guys only things. The thing is, as it turns out, the only person out of everyone who is actually attending the wedding, who is NOT coming to the lunch, is my fiancé! I thought about inviting him, but the point really is to have a pre-wedding get together with 'the girls', so it would kind of defeat that purpose if he came along. He's totally fine with it, he has something else planned that day anyway, but I can't help feeling a bit bad that he's the ONLY one who will be at the wedding not coming. My question is: is it a bit mean that I didn't invite him? or do you think the scenario is ok? |
Question: My mom is mad about my engagement and won't accept my fiancé. Please help? Posted: 21 Jul 2015 03:57 PM PDT I've been with my girlfriend, now fiancé for 4 years. I'm 23 and she's 20. We're an interracial couple. I'm white and she's black. She's my everything. She's just an amazing person. When I look at her i feel nothing but love. My mom wasn't happy when we first started dating but she came about after about 6 months. Her family loves me. I proposed to her Saturday night and she said yes. Everything was perfect. We told my mom yesterday and she started acting crazy. She told my girlfriend that we aren't right together and she had hoped this was just a fling. She basically dogged my fiancé out and called her all kinds of names. And i told her she has to except my fiancé because i love her and she's who i want to spend the rest of my life with. My fiancé knows my mom doesn't like her and over the past few years she tried time and time again to interact with my mom and she's always respectful. And I'm tired of my mom treating her this way. Ive talked to her about it and she keeps doing it. Im very confused. She accepted my brothers wives and she treats them like they're her own. Everyone in my family loves my fiancé except for my mom and I want her to be in our lives and my fiancé REFUSES to start planning a wedding until I have my moms blessing. My dad has even tried to talk to my mom and nothing is working. If she doesn't except this I'm afraid i will have to just stop speaking with her, which would hurt my fiancé because family is so important to her :(. Please, I need advice. |
Posted: 21 Jul 2015 03:43 PM PDT Hi all, is it rude for person A not to give a wedding gift to person B when B did give a wedding gift to A about one year before? I'm from China, and this is very rude in our culture. We usually put cash in a red envelope as a wedding gift, and person A in this case probably puts a little more cash to return the favor when B gets married. But I'm wondering how American culture sees this, even if A has budget problem. Thank you! |
Posted: 21 Jul 2015 02:25 PM PDT Hi, catholic and getting married in the church- and happy about it. We had to take pre-cana (pre-wedding) classes where we had a "sponsor couple" whose job was to "make sure we were ready for the sacrament of marriage". Okay fine. they took us out to dinner last week, then split my fiance and i up, so they could interrogate us separately. The lady asked me a bunch of overly personal questions about my sex life (Are you a virgin? Have you ever touched your fiance or another man in an unholy way? Has your fiance or another man ever touched you in an unholy way). I answered these questions, since i knew that this sponsor couple could say that we werent ready to be married if i didnt answer. Same thing happened with fiance. So at the next pre-cana class meeting, they shared this information with EVERYONE-they said "They are both virgins but have touched one another innapropriately, but they have repented". It was so embarassing. Fiance and I ran out after the class. Only good thing was that this was the last class. Now, we haven't ever formally invited the couple to our wedding- they assumed they were invited, which was okay w/ fiance and i until they embarassed us. Wedding is this saturday. The evil lady from sponsor couple called me today to ask how was everything, did i need anything, etc. I told her I needed her & her husband not to show up to the wedding since they humiliated my fiance and me. She got offended, & said "You can't uninvite us". check update for full story To which I replied "You were never invited in the first place". She then said, "Well we are your sponsor couple, we are coming anyways", then hung up. I already called the parish priest, who said that we didn't have to have them at our wedding. Yay. But he also warned me that these people are known in the parish to show up to events uninvited He said they might show up anyways So now i'm wondering what to do if they show up. Do we have someone escort them out? Do we lock the doors to keep them out? help i dont want to cause a scene, i was also thinking of moving the wedding up a bit- if the priest could do that. the priest said it was fine to ban them from the church for the day- he was disgusted by what they did/said |
Question: Raffle at a wedding ? Posted: 21 Jul 2015 02:16 PM PDT Okay so a little but about us, My fianće and I are both 18 and 19, I know, still pretty young, but we have been dated for several years and have a son together. We live with my parents for almost 2 years now but are having our wedding in 2017 or early 2018. Date is still to be decided. I know many will be critics but everyone we know is supportive because they ve all seen what we ve struggled through and they still see the love we have for each other. So when you answer my question I dont want any extra response on why we shouldn t get married. This is my first and last and because this is going to be my only wedding I want it to be special. With that said my Fianće and I are both paying for our wedding, not asking for the help of my parents . But when costs are added up, I m not sure we will be able to afford the honeymoon we were dreaming of. So with that said, I wanted to know if it would be too much to have a raffle at our wedding. The raffle would have 3 winners, each a different set of things like maybe movie tickets, a small stereo set, or gift cards, haven t decided yet and I know a lot of guests might not want to pay for tickets maybe they wont be able to afford them (they wont be expensive) so we were thinking that every guest will be given 2 tickets but if they want more they would be given maybe 5 more for $5 or so. Is this too much to ask ? I ve never been to a wedding. All money would be put for our honeymoon. Thank you ! |
Question: Can I put hot glue on my wedding ring? Posted: 21 Jul 2015 12:58 PM PDT Just received my wedding band and it's too big. We won't get it back in time for the wedding if we send it back to be resized. Is it safe to put a dab of hot glue on the inside of the gold band? |

Posted: 21 Jul 2015 09:26 AM PDT I have the best boyfriend ever. We've been living with my boyfriend for 2 years and was dating him for a year before that. I love being with him. I love spending time with him. He's funny, smart, and sexy. What's most important is I know he cares about me. He's done a lot of things for me that most guys wouldn't do. Whenever I need help with something he's always there. Our relationship isn't perfect. We have our fights, but we both put forth a lot of effort to make it work. I know I want to be with him forever. There's no one else I want to be with. However, it's been three years and he hasn't proposed. It hurts my feelings a lot. I don't want to tell him to propose to me. I feel like that's something he should just want to do. We've both talked about having kids together, but I'm not getting pregnant until we get married. I haven't talked to him about it because I don't want him to propose because I asked him to. I want him to do it on his own, but he isn't. Some people have said he's just in it for the sex, but that can't be it. He could get sex with a lot of other girls and work a lot less for it than being in a committed relationship with me. He also is selfless in bed. READ MORE He does a lot to give me pleasure. One thought I've had is maybe he hasn't proposed because I'm in nursing school. It does take a ton of time and energy, but we've still made time for each other. I don't need a huge wedding right now. I just want him to be my husband and for us to have that commitment. Maybe I should tell him, but I want him to just do it. Why hasn't he proposed yet? Is it unfair that I just expect him to? Why/why not? Should I tell him I want him to or just hint at it? I'm 21. He's 27. |

Question: Will you have a male stripper at your bachelorette party? Posted: 21 Jul 2015 07:25 AM PDT I've read that many, many brides do things with the male stripper that they shouldn't be doing. It's disgusting. I was wondering how common it was to actually have a male stripper at your bachelorette party. Thanks! |
