i know you probably think i m just another teenage girl with stupid problems and i m sorry if this bothers you but i really want to tell someone about this.. So sometimes i get really upset about things as i have very low self esteem and confidence and it just gets me down sometimes so naturally i turn to my friends to talk to. But whenever i mention anything about me being sad or upset, that friend tells me i m being selfish and that i can t talk about things like that because so many people have it worse than me. Like, i could literally say anything about feeling down and she ll just turn against me. It s like she thinks i m not entitled to be sad because i wasn t diagnosed with depression or something like that. It really gets me down. If it was any of my other friends she would support them, give them advice and help them out (one of my friends has depression) It confuses me because one minute she loves me and i m one of her best friends and the next she s calling me selfish and basically telling me to shut up. But putting that aside she s also a great friend and we get on really well most of the time so i don t want to lose her. I don t want to keep everything inside. Why does she treat me like this?

Hi. I'm a 26 year old guy and my best friend is a heavy smoker and I want him to stop. He's been smoking for 6 years (he's 25) and he is definitely addicted. I've talked to him about it before but he just denies his addiction and says "Nothing's going to happen to me." He's a very stubborn person and I know he will continue to smoke without intervention. One day he was staying over the night at my house and he told me he had to go make a phone call but he came back and he was clearly smoking. I told him I care about him and don't want him to destroy his body. It upsets me because I'm very close to him and im afraid he'll get cancer and die, which would destroy everyone around him. He's only 25 and if he continues this he'll have a shortened life probably. I spoke to his mother and she's tried to make him stop but she lives far away. He's like my brother and I love him like one, I don't want him to get sick and suffer. How do I help him? Again I've talked to him but he's stubburn. Before I add any details about this I would just like to say that yes, I know, I shouldn't be asking other people how to make myself happy - especially people who don't even know me. But I need this, I really do. I'm thirteen, and this is my eighth grade summer (as in, I'm going to be in eighth grade in September). I have a very close friend she has been like one of my top and best friends for 8 close to 9 years now. But I need advice, so fist off she is in summer camp's for like the whole summer.Besides like 2 weeks one is the last week in August, so today I was texting trying to get a date arranged and it felt like I was trying to make a meeting with the president or pope! Like I offered all of these days and everything that she could come over even the zoo luckily we made a agreement that she could come over my house on Friday in the evening. But after that should it be up to her to make plans say on a day or weekend, or even going to the movies? Because if you saw all the texts I sent trying to get a date set up it took forever to finally agree on this week. What should I do? Any advice? It's just hard because I feel that I put in most the effort this time and I don't know what to do next.

My best friend is 14 and he's a guy and I'm 13 girl. We've know each other since third grade and we are super close. I have seen him cry but over stuff like video games or sports when he was like ten. I haven't seen him cry since he was 12. Well they passed away early this morning maybe around 3am-4am. His dad called my dad and asked would we keep Ethan while he went to be with family. Ethan doesn't like his moms side of family because there quite rude. So, he came over around 8 this morning. He was very quiet and I could tell he was hurt. We were both sitting on beds across from each other so I came and sat next to him and put my arm around him. He started bawling and I just let him cry on my shoulder for a while. My mom walked in maybe about 15 minutes into his crying and I shooed her away. She came back upstairs about an hour later (he was calm by then) with chick fil a and Starbucks which are his favorites "basic white girl (guy)". Anyway he ate a little and he talked a little. So tonight I just planned a cuddling movie type of night. Just wanted to see was I doing the right thing by kinda urging him to cry? And should I be getting his mind off things or let him talk about it? I really don't know. I've never lost anyone and never went through anything like this.

3 years ago I met a friend online and he turned into a best friend. A few months later he got a girlfriend and they moved in together. I was introduced to her and all was good. Hello. I'm 15 and my brother is 17 and we go to the same school. Since I can remember i've always been somewhat bullied. I think it's because i'm shy, a bit overweight, and don't like many things teens like. I don't have any real friends. However, last year the bullying is really getting worse. They mock me everyday at school, call me names, fag, fat...The worse is that my brother is one of the guys who most bullies me... he's like super cool with the girls, plays soccer, is smart and beautiful. He's going to a good college for sure. My parents obviously love him more then me, and I even think they know he bullies me at school but they don't care because he's so perfect. Growing up we never were too close, but I feel really bad that my own brother bullies me at school. I'm already used to nobody liking me, spending free time always alone. Most people refuse to talk to me. In fact, I also have two cousins, both girls, that go to that same school and they avoid telling other people they are my cousins so that they can be popular (however they don't bully me, they just completely ignore me). I already tried to tell my parents that i'm bullied and at first they were worried, but when I said that my brother was one of them they said I was jealous. It's only psychological bullying. Sometimes I wish they would hit me or something so that I could have some proof. In home I barely talk to my brother, because i'm afraid of him. I'm planning on moving into a 4 bedroom 4 bathroom apartment in august with four other girls my age. One of them is a friend of a friend and the others are also so we kind of know each other but not a lot. I don't drink smoke weed anymore because it isn't enjoyable to me, and i've found friends that enjoy just hanging out and doing stuff outdoors and having fun without drinking or smoking. I know that most people smoke weed socially and occasionally, but recently my friend told me that one of my future roommates is a complete pothead and smokes every day. I really hope that you can drop the "your screwing up your life" part because that's not the problem (at least not the one I need help to here) So on friday I was at this party with my two best friends (I'm underage) and we had a great time, and we all was pretty drunk. The day after we was all pretty hangover.. but the thing is that they was going out again that night.. which I couldn't. So I admit, I was mean to her during a soccer tournament. But she exaggerated what I said and made it out like I was such a bad guy when I wasn't. This summer i worked my butt off and saved all my money from work. I also used alot of my savings account. i bought a 2002 pontiac grand prix gt with 60k miles. i wanted something fun and faster than say a focus or something and sporty looking. But wouldnt kill me in insurance. I love it and think its a really cool. It has a sunroof spoiler chrome wheels and the leather package. I ve been really passive aggressive this year and I ve really hurt a lot of people that I was once close to. And so I was thinking about posting a public apology on Facebook to all the people I ve hurt, both to clear my conscience and to show those people that I feel bad for it. I really like this person and I've been fair with hanging out with everyone. He's a guy I'm liking so he would be around more often its just the friend part.....blah! Why can't everyone get aloooooong!!!! Grrr...

I apologize in advance if this is long. I have this ex friend named Samantha, We have been friends for years. Nearly inseparable, but everything changed the week before I went to college. I found out from her that her other friends had a problem with me. I never understood why because I never had a conversation with her other friends. I then found out that she has been talking bad about me with her other friends which made then prejudge me with out even knowing me. Mind you, I have said somethings about her friends as well but that's only because Samantha would come to me talking about some drama she was going through with them. Apparently she has been going back and telling them everything I said, and vice versa. After I found out, I confronted the issue and made it clear that she could not be trusted and stopped being her friend. Fast forward: today which is 4 yrs later. I decided to let the petty drama go. I've tried to reach out to her and told her that I was there for her. She still hangs out with the other girls because I went off to college so she did not have anyone else. I don't want her to think I'm still holding on to the grudge but I still have a hard time trusting her. I want to start this friendship over, but I don't think she does because the only time we talk is Snapchat, or random calls from her. I never thought it was sincere, just convenient. I miss the friendship but I don't know if she's being fake or trying to be friends 2. BTW: Our friendship had its up and downs. And a lot of people want us to not be friends because of incidents we went through. We have matured and are old enough to understand situations more clearly. Well, I have..I'm not sure about her. Its hard to talk to anyone because people are still stuck on the past. I just want to know if I should try this friendship again. Every time I stop talking to her, she always contacts me out the blue and gives me mix feelings. I just need advice

I have awful social skills. Always introverted around people, not very interesting, not very funny, quiet, social awkward, no friends or girlfriend as you can imagine. Kind of a perfectionist, only want to hang out with people i think are awesome. The weird thing is, when i talk to parents, i'm loud, funny, talkative etc. Sometimes when I meet a new person i tmagine I'm talking to my parents and instantly find the perfect thing to say. But the vast majority of the time there's a vacuum in my head and i have no idea what to say making me very awkward around people. Everytime i ask people to hang out, see a movie, etc they all decline or come up with excuses. I'm not your typical nerd, i live healthy and look after my body , I wouldn't say I'm ugly. I was wondering if anyone went through this and "revived" themselves. Please don't tell me to go and join a club or whatever because if it was that easy I wouldn't be here writing this question.

So today was the last day of class and while walking out of class this guy I always sit next to told me maybe we'll see each other around and since we don't have any other classes together I told him probably not. And he was like well then maybe you can write me. I only have his email address and although I had his phone number I have lost it since. Was he implying we should stay in touch? I mean he does have my contacs so he could easily text/email me if he wants to. Why would he ask me to write?
