Question: Another question about wedding toasts? Posted: 17 Jul 2015 09:05 PM PDT the other day I asked a question regarding wedding toasts because I wanted to know if someone besides the maid of honor/best man could give one. the answer I basically got was yes, but a bunch of other people warned me that the toast is supposed to be kept as brief as possible or the guests will get bored this seems kind of sad to me. I could just be under some delusion, but I always imagined a wedding toast was supposed to be really heartfelt and sentimental. personally, I would enjoy listening to a sentimental wedding toast at someone else's wedding, even if I didn't know them well. and of course you want the event to be a nice time for your guests. but it isn't about them. it's about the couple. and if they get bored, tough. at least, that's the way I see it. I know that the majority don't see it that way, but I don't understand why. |
Question: Would marrying one of your in-law be considered incest? Posted: 17 Jul 2015 08:49 PM PDT So let's say you have one family that has a happily married couple, but the bride and groom both have a younger sister and brother or in the gay way however you imagine it. And the bride and groom got married. But the bride and grooms siblings fell in love or just wanted to get married and have children. Would that be considered technical incest because they're inlaw's or not incest? Because I know it's not biological incest where relatives from the exact same family tree fall in 'love', but just wondering. Probably a stupid question lol. |

Question: What does this represent? Please Answer? Posted: 17 Jul 2015 01:35 PM PDT I'm a guy, I'm 23. I got married 2 weeks ago and my wife is 21. I have CF so my lifespan is only 40 years and I'm inferile. When I was 15 and still never had a girlfriend, I thought for sure I was forever alone and thought about suicide because I felt there's no point living if I'm going to be alone, I even attempted but failed. But when I was 20 in college, I met a girl who moved to the United States from Brazil, she's the nicest and most beautiful girl I have ever met, but I was positive I wasn't good enough, but on the last day I asked her out and she said yes. We've been together since and I had my first kiss with her. I proposed to her last Christmas and she said yes. I'm Atheist, so I don't really know much about wedding traditions. All I really knew where the obvious things, to tell the priest I take her to be my wife, put the ring on her finger, and when the priest says "you may kiss the bride" to kiss her. And when we went to have cake she took a piece and I knew she wanted to put cake in my mouth, wants me to put cake in her mouth and kiss, we did it and it didn't feel weird at all. I'm very happy and thankful to be married but when we fed each other a piece of cake what does it represent in the wedding? What is its significance? |
Question: Wedding sign about love and water? Posted: 17 Jul 2015 12:39 PM PDT We are having our wedding ceremony outside in a park. To get to the ceremony site, there is a long path surrounded by woods that the guests will be walking on. I am lining the pathway with pretty signs about love and such. For one of the signs, I want to put out a bucket full of bottles of water for each of the guests to take with them to the ceremony. I want there to be a sign infront of it though to introduce the water and the path. I was thinking something like, "Love is not an easy path. Re-hydrate and enjoy the trek." or, "Are you hot yet? Grab water and cool off with some love" or something like that... They might not make the most sense - thats why I'm reaching out! What are some of your ideas? |

Question: Do I need to rent chairs for the wedding? Posted: 17 Jul 2015 11:36 AM PDT The venue charges for "seating" during the wedding it self, can I have my guests just stand until the reception, and cut costs? People have legs, surely they can stand for 30-60 minutes. I am the groom, of course I can stand in dress shoes. For hours at that. Though I was thinking of having two chairs, one for my bride and one for me to sit in as the ceremony is happening, so we can look at all our guests. |
Question: How to deal with rude wedding guests.? Posted: 17 Jul 2015 11:12 AM PDT I had a nice wedding, until the reception. As the night went on, the reception turned south. We had people dancing on table tops, swinging from the chandelier, napping on the floor, urinating in the rose bushes (despite the venue offering 4 bathrooms) and a few people even stripped off their shirts and took a dip in the decorative fountain in the front. We were charged a hefty excessive clean up fee of $3,000. Would it be wrong to invoice the offending guests their "share" of the clean up? Take note, clean up was included with the venue package but due to the nature of my guests they fined us as it apparently took over a day to clean and some chairs were damaged. I invited these people because I had no clue it would get this wild. They all seemed like decent and honorable people until this. This was not addressed during the event because over 50 people were acting like this. The police were called but we were told it was a low priority, hence they did not arrive until well after the event. The venue contract says nothing about an excessive clean up fee, can I fight this? |

Question: "Don't Tell The Bride"! What to write on Application? Posted: 17 Jul 2015 08:19 AM PDT My fiancée and I would love to apply for Don't Tell The Bride (UK) and looked on the BBC web page for it and it said to apply 'write to:' then gave an email and a address you could write into to apply, but what do I say? I know they love the controlling bridezillas (I'm definitely one!) and a lesbian wedding is fun and I'm sure watchable but what would I say in the email/letter? Just that we love each other and it's our dream? Our love story? How I need the perfect day but she has other ideas? What were like, pictures, ages? Thank you so much for the help. Xx |

Question: Anxiety and going to a wedding as a groomsmans date? Posted: 17 Jul 2015 05:44 AM PDT Okay so I have been dealing with depression and very bad anxiety issues. I have had time off work and am only just starting to get better. Both me and my boyfriend are invited to his brothers wedding, but my boyfriend is the best man. What worries me is spending a night along in a hotel and having to go to the wedding by myself and then how long I will have to be alone for at the reception. These things are a very big deal for me with the issues I've been having. Does anyone have any advice/suggestions? How long should I expect to be alone? Can I take a book and sit and read or will this been seen as rude? Note- I will be alone all night as my boyfriend (the best man) is spending the night with the groom :s |
Question: What to wear to an August wedding? Girls? Posted: 17 Jul 2015 05:38 AM PDT I have looked on many website and I just don't know the sort of thing to wear. I have seen many white dresses that say they are suitable for wedding guests. But I thought you were not supposed to wear white.. |
