So now my mom goes to work everyday at 2 pm and comes home at 3 am and I have to baby sit my little brother 😑 I'm 12 and I have an 18 year old brother but he's barely home!! I seriously have no life anymore I can't go anywhere cause I have to baby sit my brother "do you want to hang out?" No sorry I have to baby sit my brother 😡it's sooo annoying I want to live with my dad but then no one would be there to watch him and I'm sick of baby sitting him she doesn't want to get a baby sitter either.. And my brother is ANNOYING i hate my life is it even legal for me to baby sit .. |

I'm now able to choose who I want to live with so this is putting a lot of pressure on me. My mother is very selfish but has also made sure that I have all of my needs and most of my wants. Shes always been the one there. However, in the past few years she has been bringing home boyfriends and they stay the night. I do not like this because I do not know them and she has a new boyfriend about every 3 months. I do not like her current boyfriend and I very calmly and respectfully expressed my opinion on his anger issues to my mother and she called me selfish and told me my opinion did not matter. She also told me to go live with my dad but when I said I would, she all of the sudden turned and started crying. I understand that she was pulling a bluff to get me to feel bad but she has always acted very childish and I'm kinda tired of it. It would still crush me to have to tell my mom I was moving out because I've always lived with her. My father always puts me first but I haven't lived with him since I was 7 so I don't know if we'll get along. So far, I've been with him for 2 months for summer and its going great! I know I would feel terrible to leave my mom. I just wish I could be treated with dignity. I've expressed this to her before and she told me that she does treat me respectfully and that I'm just selfish. Posted: 15 Jul 2015 12:32 PM PDT My boyfriend is in his early 20s but still lives home because of school.He told me that his mom has always been controlling and he hasnt stood up for himself until recently.His mom is a from another country.She never finished school and is a stay-home mom who believes that women do every kind of housework and take care of men. -When he was a kid he wanted to play drums but she wanted him to play the piano because its more classy.( She has a fascination with rich people and everything expensive). -When he switched career choices she cried. -When we all go shopping she is so suffocating.She tries to pick out his clothes/shoes and if he doesn't like something she picks out,she gets mad. -She's a little too involved in our relationship,she wants him to be with such and such kind of woman,and ive been criticized behind my back for not being those things such as catholic,hispanic,knowing how to cook,to name a few.Ive learned how to cook now and have been doing so for 2 years, not because of her,but because I truly enjoy making food for him and he helps me sometimes which is nice.But when im in their kitchen cooking she has to come downstairs and acts like she's just walking by but I know she's being nosy.And she adds her input which I dont need because I know what i'm doing. -His dad has gotten into arguments with her about how she should leave me alone when i'm in the kitchen,and stop trying to make all of my boyfriend's decisions because he's a grown man. @Lina...My question isn't "How do I stop his mother from being controlling?" it clearly states "WHY are some parents so controlling?" I know you are supposed to love your family but we are just too different to love, or even get along with, each other. I feel some amount of guilt about hating my sister but I cannot put up with her and continue allowing her to destroy my family. She is honestly the root of all of my problems. If she was not involved, I would have a much happier life and I would have much better relationships with my other family members. She is the most selfish, ignorant, two-faced asshole I have ever met. She will ignore anyone in my family that tells her to do something or even tries to talk to her. She won't help clean up after meals and spends most of the time in her room, texting boys and pretending to be a nice, innocent person. She refuses to go to work, sports practice, and other social events, which is both rude and affects my reputation. She even missed my brothers birthday dinner because she was being weird. She's really nasty to me and calls me fat and ugly and criticizes my outfits and my choices. But that's not what matters most to me...she is a toxic person and I try to tell myself that karma will sort itself out and that I will be at college in a year, far away from her, but I can't stop feeling so angry and hurt. I can't get away from her and each time, I forgive her and think maybe it will be different, but she never changes. The worst part is that my mom always takes her side and paints me as the bad guy. He had woken me up minutes ago and I was still groggy but I was awake and I was making eye contact with them. He gave us a list of options. To which I spent some time thinking about. While I was thinking he flipped out and he started yelling at me asking why I was still in bed and that it was disrespectful that i was ignoring his question (even though I was thinking about which of the 6 options was the best) he told me "I was showing no enthusiasm and that I'm lazy" even though I just graduated high school with straight a's. He continued yelling at me for not contributing to the conversation and being disrespectful (even though I hadn't said a word). I defended myself and told him that I'm a hard worker and a good son and that while I was studying there are kids out there being hooligans and doing drugs. He told me I was conceited and had to accept my flaws (which according to him was "not showing enthusiasm") when he left my room I threw a box that was on my desk across the room in anger. He came back because he heard it and told me he'd break my neck if I broke anything. (At this point he was yelling at me right in my face and I was a little intimidated but I held my ground and pretty much told him I'd die defending myself while shouting back at him. I don't consider myself a bad kid... Am I or does my dad just have anger issues. P.S. He has a history of getting angry easily. |

We always argue, we don't do anything together, talk much but it is weird cause we live in the same house and I barely talk to her. I recently stopped talking to her for like 2 weeks and my grandparents are saying I should talk to her again cause she's really upset but I honestly have nothing to say to her. I honestly don't want to talk to her anymore. I'm currently saving up money to move out and buy a car, I work at Whole Foods and I'm picking up a lot of extra shifts to move out as soon as possible. Sometimes I'd sleep over my gf's house to get away from her. She's just always annoying me and neglecting me and sometimes I feel like she forgets she has a son and I am an only child so it's just us two in the house and shes always on the phone with the door shut so it just hurts sometimes when I want to hang out with her and she says no cause shes on the phone. I would never do anything like that!!!! but some reason today I did....I fill like my world just ended because I know ima good person and I just did the worst mistake of my life!! So they made me tell my dad and he was so disappointed in me and he had to tell my mom which they are divorced and it was around 3 AM in the morning and he took me to my house and we were all talking about it(with my mom) and that I'm grounded and is going to be hard for me to gain my family trust again . I hope that no one else in my family will find out. Do you guys know what they can be planning to do to me? If they will drug test me or not? how can I gain there trust again? I just hate the fact that from this day on everything will not be the same with my dads side of the family again. |

| Question: Is what I'm doing manipulative? Posted: 15 Jul 2015 10:02 AM PDT I always play the sweet, innocent and dumb girl. I just like it and find it fun and more interesting. I have also figured out that it gets me out of trouble. I'm at my boyfriends house a lot where he lives with his family. They are nice but easy to piss off and his mom sometimes isn't that nice to me. So i always turn things up and act like i don't pick up on her meanness and subtle blaming. I just act all happy and bubbly and like i love and believe the best about them even when they take my food out of the fridge, talk about me behind my back, or think that i did something i didn't. I even volunteer to buy his mom food with my hard earned money sometimes (due to her health problems she can only eat certain foods that they can't always afford so she skips meals a lot). I feel like my bf will see all this and be like "wow she is amazing" and be more inclined to take my side and defend me if they are ever like super mean to me. Win!! I know it probably makes me seem dumb and vulnerable but that may only add to making my boyfriend choose me. Could this work for me and maybe even get his family to like me more if they see how sweet and innocent i am? |

My Mother reacts inappropriately when we have get togethers; she is very critical, focuses on negative, controlling and angry. Communication either turns into an argument debate or your wrong I'm right situation. I cannot cut them out of my life as I am the caregiver of one, the daughter of elderly mom and live with the other until I can make other arraignments which will take years. I go to al-anon it helps some focusing on non reacting but I am at a loss on how to deal with people who are so angry, constantly complaining and negative. I hate to go home. I hate holidays, gatherings and BD, they seem to end up with some kind of big emotional upset. Verbal and emotional abuse mostly. Occasional drinking problem/ weekend blackout. |

Today the puppy tore his potty pad. I asked him to take him to pee while I fed our daughter. He didnt want to get up, so I left my daughter to play & took the dog out. I came in & hes sitting on the couch. he assumes im mad "Youre mad arent you?" He sounded annoyed. I didn't answer & got down to pick up the potty pad. He got upset & threw his empty water bottle across the room. When I came in, our daughter was on the floor crying. He didnt bother to feed her so I did. He came out w a baby bottle & threw it in the sink like shooting a basketball. I said "That was very rude. I dont bug you to do things but she was hungry, the dog needed to pee, the pee pad was torn up on the ground, & after seeing me do all this myself, you still throw stuff around.. whats the matter?!" He walks away & says Im being ridiculous. I say Im not & he calls me a *****. My daughter isnt old enough to understand but soon she will. This isnt the first time he disrespects me. He blows up for everything, I cant ask him anything, or say something wrong way, cause he loses it. He'll make me cry & later apologize but still continue to do it. Its summer now and I stay home almost everyday (I have no car) except on the weekends when I have work. My mom and I work at the same place and she can see how hard I work but when I m at home and have nothing to do she tries to yell at me call me lazy and that all I want to do is sit on my *** and play video games. Just the other day I cleaned out my room for things I didnt want, use, or need. Everyday I feed and give water to her 16 chickens and 4 ducks and take care of the 3 dogs and my 2 cats when I need to and mow our neighbors lawn. Yet I get called lazy just because I like to stay up late during summer vacation and sleep in (Netflix of course). I didnt take out the trash its true :-/ but its not because I didnt want to because I m lazy but things just slip our mind. How to I handle this? I m just lost and honestly scared of my mother. She has anger issues and gets devily angry at the littlest of things |

Like i think bad thoughts on purpose coz i feel that if i think happy thoughts then the opposite will happen and i will be sad. Sometimes i would run out to my husbands car when he is going to work and tell him to lock his car. I tell my family to text me when they reached if they going somewhere and keep calling to check up. I feel like im protecting them so not doing anything wrong but it is starting to annoy them. When my husband goes out for drinks with friends i keep texting him to not fight or argue with anyone. I know exactly why i behave like this but scared if i stop something bad will happen. I love them too much. |

Basically a restricted license permits me to drive without an adult passenger, with 0-2 other passengers of any age, during certain hours. This will be very beneficial to me, since I have a job working alongside with my dad. This means since he drives me into work, I arrive 1-2 hours before the other interns my age who have rides or drive themselves. If I buy a car, then I will get to drive myself in at a later time. Secondly, I do a lot of after school activities. Having a car that I could drive myself home in would be much easier than having my parents pick me up. The only problem is that my mom says that I don't need one. I cannot tell if she is being sarcastic or not, but that is the only thing she has stated so far. I wouldn't say I am upset, but rather confused, as she knows that I am very responsible, on and off the road. My driving instructor I have recently been training with spoke with both of my parents about how I am much more advanced than most of the other students in my class. I will also have enough money at the end of this summer to have enough funds to buy a cheaper, used car myself, with spare cash to pay for gas unassisted by my parents. With the above criteria, do you think I should furthermore talk about it with them? Thanks! |

I was wondering if I would be able to apply for guardianship for my brother who is 16. Both our parents are no longer in our lives and due to that my aunt was awarded custody over us. Although I m extremely grateful, it would be in the best interest of my brother emotionally and mentally to live with me. I am fully capable of looking after him, I have tried being civil towards my aunt but she is refusing to give me custody. I realise that without legal guardianship I cannot sign any documents on behalf of my brother, this is a big concern of mine. I have no other choice but to look at legal options. My brother is extremely extremely unhappy living with her, and I don t want him to go into care. As I am aware getting him back out of care would be extremely difficult. I have no other family members to turn to for help and I am running out of further options. I have tried talking to her but she has now made it her mission to be spiteful towards us. What can I do,please help I cannot sit back and watch her treat him so badly. Thanks in advance. |

Very soon after that, my stepmom found out she was pregnant. After this, my stepmom and dad told me and my brothers we would have to call her "Mom" from now on so we don't "confuse" the baby. So, of course my mom found out about this and was pissed so she talked to my dad about it. She told him it wasn't fair we were being forced into calling my stepmom "Mom", so my dad said we wouldn't have to anymore. Well, this pissed my stepmom off so they said we HAD to call her "Momma". This was when I was 7, and while it pissed me off, I was too young for them to listen to me when u asked them to not make us do that, so we were stuck calling her "Momma" so for the past 7-8, as I've been getting older, I've been asking if we can stop calling her "Momma" since at this point the baby they had is old enough to understand she's not our mom, but they always yell at me and say It's "respectful" and Jess (my stepmoms name) has always been a better mother to me and my brothers than my actual mom. So typically when I bring up the topic of us not having to call her that anymore, they just get mad and it starts arguments and typically ends with my losing my phone and getting grounded, so idk how to talk to them about us not having too anymore.. |

Posted: 15 Jul 2015 07:24 AM PDT My sister has had her boyfriend for one year, Yeah i have met his family and all multiple times but for some reason, I still don't feel comfortable around them. Its already been a year and i still don't feel comfortable talking with them as much. I don't know why. My mom is comfortable but for some reason im not... I kinda feel out of place with his family, cause they are a lot more partiers. And my sister is having a babygirl sometime around tommarow! Sometimes it saddens me because my sister is 22 and im only 14, so you could tell by the age difference that i didn't have much time for her to live with me and my family before she left and moved out. I guess time kinda went quite fast for me. I already talked about this with my sis a little bit, and yeah she understands. we both know that its difficult when there is a big age difference between siblings because then its hard to relate about each others lives sometimes. Anyways i have to stay here in the city where they live for two weeks! What can i do to get a lot more comfortable with my sister's boyfriends side of the family and him. For some reason i never felt like this with her other boyfriends cause i believe i was young so i really didn't care but now for some reasons i try not to embarrass myself or anything. I got hit with a long and wooden stick when I was seven, and I stopped trusting her ever since then. When I entered middle school, my mom started acting violently, and slapped with all her might when angry. Lately, I started playing some video games in my new computer that I saved up from my grandparents, who understand my situation. She almost ripped off the screen by slamming the cover, and said I play too much games when I usually only play for about an hour every day. Can anyone give me some advice on dealing with my mother and how I can pull it off? |

Her brother who is my father , gave me everything I ever wanted. Paid for a condo in Florida when I was still in my teens. Spent over a hundred thousand dollars to send me to college. I now work for him. He has done things such as building me a brand new addition to the building since I took over the job that my aunts husband had here. He always wanted a new addition so he could work in it but my father would never do it while he was here. But now since Im doing the job, my father built it. Also Im into fitness and staying in shape comes easy for me. My aunt is obese and as much as she tries, she can't lose weight. I have a beautiful girlfriend who is skinny and that who always posts nice pictures of us on Facebook and my aunt see those also Thoughts? |
| Posted: 15 Jul 2015 07:04 AM PDT Okay so I just recently got my liscence and last night I went out with my friends to a baseball game and after the game it was like 10:00 pm and the parking lot was empty so to celebrate me finally getting my liscence my friend let me do a "victory lap" around the empty parking lot. ( I don't have a car so I haven't been able to drive anything yet so it was actually really exciting and nice of her to do). And like 18 year old do,we were screaming and laughing and stuff. Well my other friend from the back seat took my phone and posted a video of me driving to my snap story without me knowing. Long story short, my sister showed my mom the video and now I'm in huge trouble. I get that I'm not insured on my friends vehicle so "if anything were ever to happen" (in a empty parking lot). So now my mom is making me tag a long everywhere she goes cause she "can't trust Me" but she constabtly holds it against me and says "oh I wish I could do this, but I can't trust you". 1) I knew I was in a controlled driving environment so nothing could happen and 2) I'm 18 and we make mistakes, I've learned from it and can't stand to have it hung over my head. She wasn't perfect her teenage years either. How do I handle this situation? I know it was wrong for me to do but I can't stand being a know as the f*** up anymore because of it. |

Often even physical fights. However as I'm growing I really don't want to fight with him, especially physically or even verbally. I've always tried to talk to him about his bad attitude towards me but he doesn't care to listen at all & tells me I'm annoying and to stfu. Whenever I say something to him or ask him for something he becomes angry quick & curses at me. He has called me " s-l-u-t" " W-h-o-r-e" Ect every bad curse possible. but I always ignored it Knowing that eventually I will get fed up & physically hurt him. I never had mine so I know the feeling of not having one. Why do my family act like this when I need them the most? Is it just mine or is someone else going through this? They keep saying "you don't know what you have done to your self" and I'm sitting here just saying "thank you for all the negativity but no matter what my son will have everything he needs" because now I don't work for myself, I work for my girlfriend and my baby. Now, 13 years later, I live with my mom, step dad, and three younger sister. I have a good life there, I live I a beautiful house, have no trouble with money, and I go to a nice school with great friends. The problem is, I can t get my life started in North Dakota, but in Michigan, were my dad lives, I have a bigger chance to start my life and actually succeed in what I want to do, and turn over a new leaf. The only thing that s holding me back from moving, is leaving my family that I ve been with for 13 years. I would also have finish high school( I m a going to be a senior). I have no problem with going to a new school for year, but you have to take a test inorder to graduate, and in North Dakota you don t. Usually when I get an offer that s really big like this, I would pass really quickly if I m not feeling it, but for some reason I have a feeling that this is a good idea. I m visiting my dad currently to obverse. He really wants me to live with him because he wants us to stay together. I m almost 18 so this decision is up to me, yesterday I was all about moving but now I m smack in the middle, I m still looking for signs to see if I should go through with it Thanks for the help!!! |

Okay, so my mum has a statute in the living room of three baby Angels, one angel represents my baby brother, other child represents a baby she miscarried last year (She doesn't know I know, I accidently came across the letters from the hospital trying to explain why it happened), but I'm not sure who the third angel represents. I know for a fact that it is not me, so that is out of the question. Her Facebook password is also 'my3littleangels'. So I was wondering maybe I had a twin? My father is not in my life, I have no clue of his where abouts and my family refuse to tell me. Twins do however run in my family, my aunties sons wife (who is the same age as my mum) recently lost a set of twins. If I hadn't found out that Twins run in my family I wouldn't of thought of it. But could it be possible that maybe I was supposed to be a twin? Or maybe my father took the other child? I just have absolutely no explanation for the third angel, and I do have my facts to prove that it is not me. I am really good at the whole study, doing homework thing, I have a 4.0. I have 2 children at home and I'm married, my husband works full time and he helps with the children when he feels like it, he's a pretty good dad and a supportive husband.... I was offered a full time job making okay money should I take it? It would be 8-5 mon-fri and I have classes mon wed 6-7:30 Tues Thurs 6-9. Do you think it is doable? Not that they're hard to use, I just have so little use for them. She keeps getting pissed if I havent charged it. I often go to friends and forget my charager there because she wants my phone charged at all time, and the battery is pretty bad. If I forget it, she just screams and becomes even more angry. I keep yelling back that I dont even want to have a phone that I never use aside from when she spams me with text messages asking me where I am. What to do? Funny right? | Question: How do I get my family to stop fighting? Posted: 15 Jul 2015 04:50 AM PDT I leave for college in a few weeks and I don't want to leave my family as is. Here lately my younger sister has been getting into a lot of trouble and having a major attitude with my parents. But from her point of view she is just being honest, but she is so harsh/blunt when she speaks that it's very hurtful. My parents, mostly my mom, are always fighting with her. Mom doesn't like what she does and is trying to get her into different things. (music mostly) My sister is getting more violent, towards her family only, and harsher with her words. She trying to hard to be older. My parents found out she self harms and they were really mad and took everything away from her, basically isolated her. Now she locks herself in room and won't eat. She sneaks into my room late at night to use my phone to text and I feel bad about going against my parents wishes but they are going about this wrong! I can see my sister committing suicide so I don't want to leave like this. I asked my parents to take her to a therapist but they said no, that it was cause of her friends. Mom and dad fight a lot more now to. This has been going on strong for a year or so now but it has always been slightly like this. My sister is wrong for being so harsh but is too stubborn to listen and my parents are going about this the wrong way but I don't know how to help them. My parents are really scary when mad and my dad is only recently in the picture due to the military and now being retired. What should I do? |
