What I mean is, if you have say...one son and he decides he never wants kids. Why would it matter that your family last name isn't continued on by him when he has numerous male cousins who, odds are, will have children of his own? Sure, it won't be a direct line from you. But your father's last name will continue in your son's cousin's children. So, then, when you have lots of males in your family who will continue your family name, why does it matter if your own children don't? I ask because, my partner's grandfather was an important man. He did a lot of good in his life. But he also had multiple sons who each had their own son's. My partner is the only male in his family, of childbearing age, that doesn't want kids. So, if my concerns are correct, and his parents won't be happy about not continuing his name, why would it matter if so many other men in his family are?

I'm in a tough situation right now. I've lost contact with one of the most important people in my life. In May I was unable to talk to them (not going into detail). They tried to contact me several times during that month (texting then finally calling and leaving a voicemail). I tried texting them a couple weeks later (it was then June) and it went surprisingly bad. When I texted, they did answer immediately (they always did answer me quickly), but instead of asking where I had been, they acted like they didn't even know me. All they said was "who is this?". I know I could have texted back, telling them it was me, but I was too shocked/hurt for that. The fact that they would just "forget" about me was so upsetting - especially when they didn't even know why I hadn't been talking to them. Now that it's the end of July, I have no idea what to do. I've been tempted to text them, but I'm afraid. After what happened, I feel like they don't mind that I was gone. I have missed them SO much during this time and it was awful when I was unable to contact them. I've been married for 8 months and our relationship is very good so far.. at first it was difficult but it has taken huge strides in the good direction and we've resolved many of our issues through communication, etc... My relationship with my mother in law has been doing surprisingly well too despite conflict in the beginning. Sounds crazy, sounds stupid. I agree to both. Background info is that I only have one sibling and it's my younger sister. We're 6 years apart. Our father died a few years ago. My wife and I are both 31. So my sister is getting married and asked me if I would walk her down the aisle at the wedding. We are having a party for my 21st birthday (no alcohol though) and my wife is dead set on cooking. The thing is... she thinks she is good, and she is to an extent, but my cousin is exceptional and he offered to cook until my wife jumped in and took the responsibility. I have 3 weeks vacation time to use between now and November. However, I was planning on using the time to travel to Mexico when my husband will be required to go back for his pending immigration case. The only problem with that is we still haven't heard WHEN he needs to go, so we're not sure if it will even be this year. And our attorney has asked for more documents again, so it doesn't look like it will happen this year...and I would like to think the USCIS for whoever isn't that cruel to break up a family with young children over the holidays. Anyway, with 2 little ones (who are both under 2), a demanding job, and a not so helpful husband who prefers using his weekends to take on extra work instead of being home with the family and who doesn't believe in the concept of "Mommy Time", I'm more than a little stressed out. So much so, that my co-workers are telling me I need a break. So it comes down to possibly taking my vacation time here and there, so I'm not completely out of the office that much (my boss gets panicky when I'm not here) or waiting until I possibly hear back from the attorney. I had thought about requesting to roll it over until next year, so I will have plenty of time depending on the immigration case goes, but I'm not so sure if I want to do that now. So I've been dating this guy for eight months and we broke up because I found somebody else. I overslept today. and I know it's pretty common for people to oversleep, but I'm literally in panic mode and feel absolutely bad for everything. I work in the restaurant industry and my shift today was only a 5 hour shift. Sadly, I didn't get much sleep the day before and ended taking a nap around 2, which I didn't wake up till 5-6 hours later, and I only had about an 1 and half hours left, and that would mean only one hour left because it's about a 20 minute drive. I was in panic. They would be understanding of it, if I called.
