Posted: 16 Jul 2015 10:56 PM PDT Not one of them has been to any of my appointments or cared to know how they went. They act as if I'm bothering them to be apart of this special day. If it's not about them then they are not into it at all. Forget the bride it's all about the bridesmaids , not to mention I'm planning my own bachelorette and bridal shower |
Posted: 16 Jul 2015 10:29 PM PDT I'm an atheist. Who happens to be in an environment full of sikh ppl. I'm a foreigner to indians. 5 years ago I was about to marry a sikh guy who I really loved. We were about to get married until his family objected, because they wanted sikh girl.lol after all these years, dating different ppl, I again met another Sikh guy and we are dating. Like the same bs. like how can I make ppl being tolerant as much as I sm? I was born and raised in atheist-agnostic family with great education. When will ppl how up aND realize that life is too short ? |

Question: Holding a wedding at midnight? Posted: 16 Jul 2015 06:52 PM PDT Is it proper or okay to hold a wedding at midnight, with the reception running from 1AM to 6AM? |

Question: Can somebody in the wedding party besides my maid of honor do the toast? Posted: 16 Jul 2015 04:33 PM PDT my maid of honor is my sister. since me and my fiance just graduated from college, and we dated as teenagers, a lot of the others in the wedding party are people we know from school. for instance, my best friend is just a regular bridesmaid, but she was my best friend in high school, my roommate in college, and a good friend to my fiance as well. she's like family to us. my sister doesn't know my fiance very well. they've met before but my sister is a lot older than me so we just don't run in the same social circles. I think it would be very heartfelt if my best friend gave the speech instead of my sister, because she has so many memories with both of us from the past nine years. but of course I don't want to insult my sister or take the honor away from her. I know it's traditionally maid of honor, best man, and father of the bride that do the toasts. but would it be tacky to have my maid of honor or another bridesmaid do a toast? or is there a way to explain this my sister without her getting insulted? |
Question: What's you're opinion of a rainbow wedding dress? Posted: 16 Jul 2015 02:47 PM PDT Not getting married anytime soon, but lately I've been randomly thinking about wearing a rainbow dress for my wedding in the winter. Bridesmaids will be in a sky blue color and groomsmen will wear white tuxes. I was thinking of having nobody except my mom, dad, and soon to be husband know about my rainbow dress. Decorations for said ceremony will be simple, minimalistic and sleek so nobody will suspect the color of my dress until I come down the aisle. Again, I'm not getting married any time soon, but this was a thought I had and wanted other people's opinions on it. |

Question: Night before wedding - isn't it easier for the wedding party to just stay at the hotel? Posted: 16 Jul 2015 01:37 PM PDT Would they hair and makeup artist be able to come to a hotel in the morning? Also, does the groom and groomsmen sometimes arrive the night before. And the bridal party too? But obviously at different times? Isn't that easier for both, rather than just being at home morning of the wedding? So to sum it up, isn't it easier for the bride, groom, bridesmaids, groomsmen to just stay at the venue rather than having to drive to it on the morning? Thanks!:):):):):):) |
Question: Should I get married at 18 to a 27 year old man? Posted: 16 Jul 2015 01:35 PM PDT He's been my only boyfriend, we live together and we're extremely compatible. He loves me very dearly, and I planning on going in to the Navy in October. He knows about this and fully supports me. The reason we're considering getting married so soon is because if I'm married in the military, they'll pay his rent so he'd be able to follow me easily. (He wanted to follow me before he knew they'd pay his rent.) I only feel nervous because I feel like I should date other people before getting married. However, if it weren't for that one fact, I'd marry him in an instant. What should I do? (Should I marry him?) |
Posted: 16 Jul 2015 01:15 PM PDT I got engaged 6 years ago. I recently lost some weight and my wedding ring/ engagement ring didn't fit. I took it to Kay jewellers to have it sized and it looks JACKED UP.... Can anyone tell me what this could be and did it every happen to you? The bottom looks cracked. |
Question: Who walks the bride down the aisle if she has no family? Posted: 16 Jul 2015 12:28 PM PDT I have a character that is going to get married in a story of mine, but she has no family-at all. There are no uncles, cousins, brothers, father, mother.... she doesnt have anyone except her friends. So does she walk alone or is there an option like a very close male friend walk her down the aisle? |
Posted: 16 Jul 2015 12:24 PM PDT what is the tradition of bridal garter ? is it a symbol as bride's vintage? |
Question: Is it tacky to have regular cakes instead of a wedding cake? Posted: 16 Jul 2015 11:45 AM PDT We're thinking about ordering 10-12 cakes from a popular local bakery in a variety of flavors (for ~$200) rather than splurge on a fancy, traditional, tiered wedding cake. |
Posted: 16 Jul 2015 11:01 AM PDT We're worried about not getting our deposit back for our wedding venue, as we need to clean up the entire place by 11:30pm. We were thinking about making a little basket with gift certificates/goodies/etc and having clean-up tasks on tickets for anyone who wants to help out afterwards, people could write their name on their ticket, and then choose a winner at 11:15 or something. One concern is people might mistake it for a honeymoon fund raising raffle, but we just need help cleaning up. If I were a guest, I don't know if I would be offended by the request for help, or excited about the prospect of winning the basket. Is there any way to execute this plan without being tacky? ***The only people who would even know about the clean up raffle would be like immediate family and the bridesmaids/groomsmen, not the rest of the guests. *Seriously, I'm just talking about the bridal party, mostly groomsmen, as helpers here! NOT anyone else/other guests! Geez!!! |

Question: How can a bride choose (or not choose) a maid of honor and avoid hurt feelings? Posted: 16 Jul 2015 10:45 AM PDT My three closest childhood friends and four future-sisters-in-law will be bridesmaids. The three friends would all made great maids of honor for different reasons, and I would feel terrible choosing between them to say, "One of you is more important to me than all the other two!" Or would feelings be even more hurt if they were...maidens of honor...and shared the role? Besides, I don't want them to have the plan anything; the wedding and bachelorette-camping trip should be pretty low-key. ***I do NOT want a shower, so that is irrelevant. |
Question: Is it inappropriate to ask for gift cards at a bridal shower? Posted: 16 Jul 2015 10:38 AM PDT |
Posted: 16 Jul 2015 10:34 AM PDT My cousin is having a bridal shower, but I am totally stumped on what to get her as a gift I thought about going to bed bath and beyond to get her something but what do I get for her? |
Question: How far away can a wedding be before the distance is unreasonable for guests? Posted: 16 Jul 2015 10:33 AM PDT We selected a beautiful location that is one hour north of our hometown. The highway is a little windy in some parts, but arguably one of the most scenic routes in the country. Many guests live within 1 to 1.5 hours of the venue, and some extended family members and good friends live ~3 hours away. |
Question: Is there too many coming? Posted: 16 Jul 2015 08:44 AM PDT I've been looking through my wedding guest list, and including my bridal party and groomsmen I have 82 day guest. And I can't cut it down as that's just family :/ I've already cut 16 out of the day that I'd really like there, they are friends and 2 of the groomsmen other halves :/ I haven't completed my evening guests but already have and 93, plus the 16 cut from the day to add on top of the initial 80 guests. I haven't even looked at the rugby team yet. I have a horrible feeling that there are too many people that I would like to share my special day with. Am I right? If so how am I going to cut the list down? |

Posted: 16 Jul 2015 06:18 AM PDT I m in Eastern Pennsylvania and hope for something relatively close, but not neccessarilty in-state. The fountain doesn t have to be huge, I just like the way the sun reflects off of the water. I was thinking like a three-tier fountain. Any suggestions? |
Question: Vietnamese wedding traditions? Posted: 16 Jul 2015 04:51 AM PDT My fiance is Vietnamese, and although we will most likely have a Vietnamese wedding in Vietnam, I want to honor his family and cultural traditions somehow in our American church wedding. I don't think he cares a ton, but I know his mom would definitely appreciate it. We will be having a tea ceremony, but I'd like to do more. My fiance said something about traditionally brides having 3 dresses and one is red, and I think that would be a nice thing to do. Can someone explain all this to me? Also, is there anything else I should try to include? Thanks! |
