Question: Where would you get married, if you didn't have a family? Posted: 13 Jul 2015 09:48 PM PDT Let me give you some background. My parents and my only sibling died when I was very young. I was raised by my grandparents, and they died not too long after I graduated from high school. My parents were only children. My fiance was given up at birth, and he was raised in foster care. He doesn't know any of his biological family. Neither of us have been married before, and we don't have any children. We've been courting for almost 2 years. We would like to get married in some place that is beautiful, quiet, and reflective of God's beauty. We're open to any place in the continental US. We would like to make this happen on our 2nd anniversary, which is 8/5/15. |
Question: Is this a good song to sing at my sisters wedding? Posted: 13 Jul 2015 09:12 PM PDT My older sister asked me if I would sing at her wedding reception with her and I agreed. She told me that I could decide on the song. What do you think of this? (Elphaba) I'm limited Just look at me I'm limited And just look at you you can do all I couldn't do Glinda So now it's up to you For both of us Now it's up to you (Glinda) I've heard it said That people come into our lives for a reason Bringing something we must learn And we are led To those who help us most, to grow If we let them And we help them in return Well, I don't know if I believe that's true But I know I'm who I am today Because I knew you... Like a comet pulled from orbit As it passes the sun Like a stream that meets a boulder Halfway through the wood Who can say if I've been changed for the better? But because I knew you I have been changed for good (Elphaba) It well may be That we will never meet again In this lifetime So let me say before we part So much of me Is made of what I learned from you You'll be with me Like a handprint on my heart And now whatever way our stories end I know you have re-written mine By being my friend... Like a ship blown from its mooring By a wind off the sea Like a seed dropped by a skybird In a distant wood Who can say if I've been changed for the better? But because I knew you (Glinda) Because I knew you (Both): I have been changed for good (Elphaba) And just to clear the air I ask forgiveness For the things I've done, you blame me for (Glinda) But then, I guess we know There's blame to share (Both) And none of it seems to matter anymore (Elphaba) Like a comet pulled from orbit As it passes the sun Like a stream that meets a boulder Halfway through the wood (Glinda) Like a ship blown from its mooring By a wind off the sea Like a seed dropped by a bird In the wood (Harmony over Glinda) (Both) Who can say if I've been Changed for the better? I do believe I have been Changed for the better (Glinda) And because I knew you... (Elphaba) Because I knew you... (Both) Because I knew you... I have been changed for good... |

Posted: 13 Jul 2015 06:36 PM PDT I wanted to go with her to her gown fitting, she said no, todays she was yelling that I don't care how her fitting went! Whenever I ask her a question about the wedding, she cuts me off and says "I'm busy". She is getting married 3 hours away near where the grooms family lives, which is very convenient for them. So she makes all her choices up there with him and his family. She refused to pick out invites with me, flowers, mostly everything. She puts me down, says I sleep all day, am lazy you name it, despite working 1-2 jobs before retirement to pay for my kids expenses, camps etc. My husband had a severe stroke and can't talk well. We had no alcohol or drug problems so it's not like I was a drunk. She says I should sell the house, we don't need such a big house, I told her its my business. She cries she's on her own planning and paying for a wedding etc, with no help from me, but doesn't bother with me when I offer to help. I feel she is being bratty because of money, I gave her what I could towards the wedding, but not what she expected. We are retired, my husband and I have chronic illnesses and our family is small. She has had a privileged life, best schools etc, when me and hubby worked. Both her and fiancé have good jobs. His side gave them 8,000 which they used on a honeymoon through Europe. She throws it in my face all the time that his family gave them so much more than we did. In all fairness they should pay more, their family list is 3x what ours is. |

Question: Is 13 to young to be a regular bridesmaid!? Posted: 13 Jul 2015 05:34 PM PDT My dad is getting married soon and his fiancé asked me to be a bridesmaid instead of a junior bridesmaid with my future step sisters but my dad said he thinks that 13 is a little to young to be a bridesmaid. I would like your opinions please.😜 |
Question: Wedding: If you get married in a castle, can you stay the night before? Posted: 13 Jul 2015 02:41 PM PDT Say like if u get married in a castle hotel in the UK, can you drive to the venue the night before and stay there? Has anyone done this? And do the bridesmaids have to switch rooms the day after, or do they get to keep the room they stayed in with the bride the night before? Because obviously one less person stays in their room the night after. |
Question: Wedding reception venue in Novi, MI? Posted: 13 Jul 2015 01:16 PM PDT I'm looking for a wedding reception venue near Novi, MI for ~100 guests that is affordable (~$30/pp). The reception will be Feb. or March 2017 so it will be the off-season. Anyone have any suggestions? I would be willing to travel 10-15 miles from Novi as well. |

Question: At my wedding should my dad, stepdad or brother walk me down the aisle? Posted: 13 Jul 2015 07:55 AM PDT So a few days ago, my stepdad asked if he would be allowed to walk me down the aisle at my wedding. Well, being only sixteen, I told him I am not getting married for a while so I am really not sure. I like my step dad more than my dad so I would like him to walk me down. But I would hate to hurt my dad's feelings. My brother walking me could be mutual but I worry that the other two may both be offended. I don't know what to do. Help? |
Question: Black tie requested wedding..cocktail dress okay? Posted: 13 Jul 2015 07:51 AM PDT I live in the south, and I'm attending a wedding in August. This wedding is outdoors. I really don't want to a) go out and buy an expensive evening gown I'll wear one time and b) sit in a floor length gown when it'll be 100+ degrees outside. Would a black cocktail dress be appropriate? |
Posted: 13 Jul 2015 07:40 AM PDT My wedding is in 4 days. Hers is in a year and a half. Yesterday, my veil came back from being steamed and added embellishments to, and she says "Ooh! Can I borrow that for my wedding?" Normally, I would brush that off. But this happens every single time. At the wedding shower, me and the other bridesmaids set up games and everybody had fun. But this bridesmaid said "Yeah, well, I'M not gonna have one, that's for sure." |

Question: Is us talking about marriage crazy? Posted: 13 Jul 2015 04:37 AM PDT My boyfriend and I have been dating for six months now, he is 20 and I am 19. We met in a whirlwind of a way in college, and now we're starting to talk about getting married. We don't have very much money, so we can't afford to have the wedding that we want any time soon, even with the help of our families. We were talking about it tonight, and we both thought of the idea of going without the big wedding (for now), and just getting legally married at the courthouse. If we do that, we can start our lives together like we want, and start combining our savings to have a ceremony later on, probably on an anniversary. I absolutely love this man. We share the same values and religious views, even though we do have differing views on some political stances lol. I know that we're young, but it's like we were made to be married to one another and to be by each other's side. I just want to hear from other people, does this just sound absolutely crazy? Is this complete nonsense? Advice please! |

Question: Proposal/ring ideas for the perfect girl? Posted: 13 Jul 2015 12:19 AM PDT i love her with all my heart. i would literally catch a grenade for her if i had to. i will always care about her, no matter what. she says she loves me, but how can she love someone like me?I can be harsh and a disgusting-looking jerk, and she's just perfect sweetness. She (an amazing catholic) however says I'm perfect for her, and that I'm the most handsome guy in the world and that she couldnt ask for a better guy. She calls me sexy or sweet or handsome every day, but i dont see how. I know one thing, however: I will always love her. I've loved her for 5 years now. We've been dating for 2. I would do anything for her- and shes amazing. she's helped me in my darkest hours So how should I propose to her? i'd rather spend more on the ring than the proposal. and i live in the dallas, tx area I know she likes classic type jewelry (any jewelry ideas) So any links to rings would be lovely. She loves: -watching the night sky in the middle of nowhere -watching the amazing texas sunset -italian food -summer flowers -snow -snuggling/cuddling with me when its cold outside and we're under alot of covers -wearing cute summer dresses -dancing Please help me. she deserves the best |

Question: Is it okay to have a cookout as a wedding reception? Posted: 12 Jul 2015 06:53 PM PDT We are having a huge wedding in my church. We planned on having a cookout for the reception. We were wondering if this would be okay? We would ask people to bring the food for it like one person bring all the hotdogs, someone else buns, etc. We would also be asking my friend if he or his son would mind cooking the food. Is this okay? |
