I have one son and he and I are very close. We spend a lot of time together and even though he is 18 he actually likes hanging out with me. He is my only child and his dad and I divorced 4 years ago. Once my son leaves for college his Aug. I lived here because my ex husband wanted to be near his family. So I am not really close to mine any longer since I have been away for 22 years now. I do have my friends. Can anyone else who has experienced their only child leaving give me any advice? He will be going to school three states away and I am worried that I will fall into depression of missing him. Thank you

I'm making a life changing decision, should I listen to my Heart or my Mind?

My mom is in the hospital right now for brain surgery. Once she gets out of the hospital, she won't be able to drive, or even ride in the car. I turn 16 in 2 months, and was wondering if I should get my hardship now, or wait for my birthday. --- I have a younger brother that plays sports (therefore I would have to take him to practice), and a dad who works till about 8 p.m. everyday.

So about two months ago my boyfriend busted my spoiler on my car twice in one day. It finally fell off last week. He still hasn't fixed it. I told him not to drive my car anymore. Well I was asleep the night before last and instead of taking his truck he took my car. And the next day I went off to grammas and noticed my light was on for low pressure in my tire. I thought it was strange because I just bought new tire. so I went and checked it and it had a nail in it. I'm assuming it was his nail he left strung out with all his parts... So he called me and I just flipped out. And just hung up on him. On my way to car place my tire busted in the middle of the road I swerved all over. Got my gramma to come get me. I was so mad at him because he said that light on my car last night he drove it and I never told him he could and what really makes me mad was he didn't tell me. I had to wait 11 hours for him to put a donut on my tire and he didn't even put it on right. It was on crooked and he didn't even test drive it for me. He didn't even ask if I was ok. He was so mad at me because I was mad. His teenage daughters don't respect me. They don't clean up, they take my things, they burnt my hair extensions, they lose stuff that belongs to me. He won't do anything about it. I just feel like everything comes before me. It makes me sick to my stomach. I'm riding around with a brand new car that is destroyed because of him and I have losses so much cause his kids. What do I do?

All of my clothes are too small for me. I only have two pairs of pants that actually fit me, I've outgrown everything else. I only have TWO bras. My running shoes, which is the only pair of shoes I even own, are 2-3 years old, worn-out and battered, so much so that there's holes in them, yet my parents don't want to go out and buy me new ones. My doctor prescribed me medication for my acne and my eyes (I get recurring styes on my lower lid), but my mom doesn't want to buy them for me because she ''doesn't have money'' yet she can afford a new nice fridge. I also forgot my toothbrush at my dad's, and I guess it's my fault, but since he lives kind of far, I know he'll be reluctant to drive all the way down here to return it. Did I also mention I haven't visited a dentist since I was 13? I keep nagging at my mom to take me, because sometimes I get tooth aches and still, it's ALWAYS good to get a checkup a couple times a year. But she says she doesn't have money, and gets irritable when I persist. I don't know if maybe I'M in the wrong for expecting my parents to still take care of me given I'm 17. I've tried applying for jobs but I never get a call-back because I have NO experience. But I have to start somewhere, no jobs want to give me a chance.

Im 15 and i did some pretty bad stuff like smoking weed,cutting myself,stealing money,skipping school and running away from home ( the police was looking for me o.o) and ot really hurt my mom .she has always been so overprotective and now she doesnt trust me at all.its summer and im grounded and she doesnt let me be alone anywhere. She also took my money. I need to gain her trust back bc i cant live like this. Im not planning to do this things again but im a little worried about cutting bc i feel like i might do it again but i dont wanna hurt my mom...btw she found out about those stuff about a month ago so im kinda late with apologizing to her :/ ..i wrote her an apology letter bc im a really bad talker and i can express myself better with writing things ..im planning to give it to her and fake a smile all the time so she will think i got out of this depression thing. But im in doubts .. Idk why;-; is it worth it? I really am sorry but i feel kinda selfish bc shes gonna think im doing this to make her unground me.. Idk what to do should i give her the letter or nah?

I've asked a question like this before but nothing has changed. My parents treat my sister like royalty even though she doesn't listen to them or help them she literally stays in her room all day and now that she's finished school she still does nothing and I have so much homework but my parents make me do all the work and I get detentions for either not doing it or because it's not good enough. I have to stay up at midnight doing my homework and it's so annoying. My mum always puts me down like once it was my cousins party so I was doing my hair and my sister walks down and my mum says she looks like a pretty doll and then she says I look the complete opposite, that's not something you want to hear from your mum! My sister lies to mum a lot about not having Facebook and Twitter when she does!!! It's not even fair I do everything for my parents but they don't appreciate it and they say I sit there on my phone all day when that's my sister. Today I was checking a message and my mum shouts at me and says get off your phone your always on it. Once I did something and my mum got angry and said next time you do that I'll throw you out of the house, then she tells me to stop crying. She calls me the "devil child" and she always puts me down. She literally pays no attention to me whenever it comes to exams or school but she wants to talk to my sister about it and when I do say something she tells me to shut up coz she's not talking to me.

I'm 24. Growing up with my mother wasn't easy. She beat the shxt out of my sister and I. Belts, smacking, slapping in the face. Me and my sister weren't bad kids. We never got in trouble at school and got A's and B's. Always did sports. If we asked her a normal question like "can you pick is us after our game" she'd respond "I'm not your fxcking taxi". So we'd walk 6 miles or get a ride from our friends parents. My sister and I never partied or drank like the other kids. She called us fat. We weren't fat. Just muscular like field hockey players, well because we did field hockey.... We always had a summer job as soon as we were old enough. After high school my sister and I went on to college though full scholarships. Graduated. Became functioning adults.... Our mother has always been a really bitter lady. I haven't spoke to her since I was 18. Neither has my sister. She informed our grand parents that she is literally heart broken that her only 2 daughters won't talk to her or see her. My mom made me want to kill myself as a teen... sometimes she was nice. Other times cruel. If I forgave her for something she'd just stab me in the back. I feel so free since I haven't had contact with her. What are your options on estranging myself from my mom?

I'm 15 and mom is so crazy and all my friends think she is crazy too and I don't know what to do anymore. Today I literally threw some papers out in her trash bag (she doesn't like when I throw away my stuff in her own trash bag) and she threw the entire trash bag out in my room and dumped everything on the floor and she started hitting me and calling me bad words. And she won't even let me use her mirror I was putting cream on my face and I used her mirror for the slightest bit to look at my face and she saw so she came running in and slapped my face and yelled at me to never do that again. And when she's with family or adults she'll immediately start to tell them how bad me and my brother are and I can't say anything because she'll use something against me like I get that I am blessed to have a phone and thats one of the only things I have that helps me escape her and just communicate with other people because she never lets me go out too but anyway she'll threaten me if I say anything by taking away my phone and every communication device out there and I feel like I'm so locked up and I hate everything. She always wants people to believe that her kids are horrible and uses blackmail about telling an aunt or a grandpa personal things about me if we don't obey her and I hate her sooo much and She strongly believes in always respecting and obeying your biological parents even if they abuse you and i dont want to tell the police or anyone bc it would cause more trouble

So most of my life I was abused physically,emotionally and mentally. I'm 16, and I had enough of the things my mom says to me so I stood up for myself. She was saying she wanted to beat the s*** out of me and calling me useless and saying I do nothing in the house. I clean. Cook and take care of the kids on top of school. How is that doing nothing? But anyway I had enough and said " I'm not a maid, I'm not your punching bag. Why do you hate me and do everything to ruin my life? Go ahead lay a hand on me because as soon as you do, I dont have to live with you anymore! I never did anything wrong to deserve this treatment and I'm not going to deal with this anymore." She thinks I'm in the wrong for saying this, but am I really?? Was it right of me to say those things? At this point I didn't care if she hit me because I cant feel it anymore anyway. I'm 15, today i came home and saw my step-dad, who hits my mother a lot hitting my 12 year old sister in the face many times, he is a scrawny guy, and is smaller than me, i grabbed him off her and punched him repeatedly in the face, the neighbor next door pulled me off him. now he wants to press assault charges on me. what should i do? He comes in drunk a lot at night too, i really, really hate him. i've expressed my concerns to my mom but i think she is too scared to leave him, he said he would kill himself.

I apologize in advance if this is long. I have this ex friend named Samantha, We have been friends for years. Nearly inseparable, but everything changed the week before I went to college. I found out from her that her other friends had a problem with me. I never understood why because I never had a conversation with her other friends. I then found out that she has been talking bad about me with her other friends which made then prejudge me with out even knowing me. Mind you, I have said somethings about her friends as well but that's only because Samantha would come to me talking about some drama she was going through with them. Apparently she has been going back and telling them everything I said, and vice versa. After I found out, I confronted the issue and made it clear that she could not be trusted and stopped being her friend. Fast forward: today which is 4 yrs later. I decided to let the petty drama go. I've tried to reach out to her and told her that I was there for her. She still hangs out with the other girls because I went off to college so she did not have anyone else. I don't want her to think I'm still holding on to the grudge but I still have a hard time trusting her. I want to start this friendship over, but I don't think she does because the only time we talk is Snapchat, or random calls from her. I never thought it was sincere, just convenient. I miss the friendship but I don't know if she's being fake or trying to be friends 2. Update: BTW: Our friendship had its up and downs. And a lot of people want us to not be friends because of incidents we went through. We have matured and are old enough to understand situations more clearly. Well, I have..I'm not sure about her. Its hard to talk to anyone because people are still stuck on the past. I just want to know if I should try this friendship again. Every time I stop talking to her, she always contacts me out the blue and gives me mix feelings. They ******* took my baby brother while we were sleep is that even legal I mean they broke into our house and stole my baby brother why the **** would they do that I just needed someone to know this I mean my parents did nothing they got reported by some ***** that said they abused us just because my 11 year old brother said he never got what he wanted and he got bruises from being tackled in football.

I was in the gym, and this cute girl that I sometimes see there comes in. there's this mat you can stretch on, and its really wide, so there's plenty of room, and I was working out and stretching on it. This girl comes and takes a seat really close to me even though there's plenty of room to sit on the mat. She just kinda sits there for a while, and doing what I guess was stretching, and then after a few minutes she walks away, maybe cause I didn't talk to her? Anyway, we run into each other a lot in the gym, and I feel like she does this on purpose. She also smiles at me every time we make eye contact. This one time we were both in the gym and we made eye contact, and she smiled. I was near the dumbbell rack, and she was on some other equipment, and a few minutes later, she comes to the dumbbell area, picks up a dumbbell, and starts working out on the bench right next to me. And then I go to grab a dumbbell, and im looking for a specific weight, and shes right behind me, I can see shes looking at me the whole time, and I'm like, " I guess they ran out of 30s," and then she smiles, and shows them to me, and they were RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. I felt so dumb. lol

So whenever my younger sister & I would fight, we don't speak to each other. Instead, we ignore each other & just hangout with my older brother instead. But as years went by, I feel like my brother favors her more than me. I think it's because when we were younger, he kinda molded her & made her like the things that he likes, while I was finding my own likes & interest. For ex, he's into scary gory movies & she is too cause of him. I don't really like those type of movies so I would do what I liked instead. And even when I would tell him about the argument my sister & I had, he would find something smart to say that always end up making it look like it was my fault. It's just really aggravating. I do like some stuff that he recommends whether it be tv shows or movies but it just annoys me how he shaped her into a little version of him. I'm not saying they have identical interests but a majority, yes. I've noticed that she is easily influence even tho she denies it. They both are lazy, unproductive & so messy. By no means am I saying I'm the perfect child but I think I stand out because I dnt share these qualities with them. Also, sometimes we'll go to his room & just watch a movie or play video games to kill time. When she comes in, he doesn't say anything but when I come in, he tells me I need permission sometimes. I just wish he didn't have to favor anyone & just think reasonably. Anyways, I just needed an outlet to vent. Sorry guys & any advice is always welcomed :)

Hey, i'm 15, my dad's like 60 something years old. He's had periods like this where he would drink a massive lot, but that was usually before he'd have a stressful event for work or whatever. But now, we lost our car, he has a problem with his leg and it hurts him really bad, a few health issues here and there. And it's a really big pain for me to see him like this, all he does is drink and not eat at all for the past 4 days, he barely even got back from work. Anyway, enough with the personal stuff. Can anybody inform me on how to help my dad? If we bring him to rehab, what will happen to him exactly? I don't like holding people back, I believe you are free to do whatever you wish in your life, if that's dying because of serious health issues, then you are free to do as you wish(unless you're full of **** and confused)

When my daughter Carol was 15, I had discovered a Beatles album underneath her bed. For those who don't know you remember, the Beatles were a Satanic cult back in the 1960's and 70's that recorded demonic hypnoses onto vinyl records to brainwash children into killing their parents and worshipping the devil. Furious, I had her sent away to Bible Camp to have her fixed. I had thought she had become a Christian, but when she was 18 and still living at home, I discovered Devil grass (marijuana) in her room. I immediately called the police, they took her away, and I told her to never talk to me again. Now, she has reached out to me. I know that she is probably still a devil worshipper, so what do you think she wants with me?

My 17 year old brother likes to beat up my little sisters who are 5 and 6. Even if they talk once when he is gaming, he goes and hits and beats on them until they cry. He is pretty buff for his age, and he doesnt know how strong he is. They have bruises and cuts all over. My dad doesnt do anything about it, unless my mom tells him to do something. When I tell him to act his age and go beat up someone his age and size he swears at me like a madman, and goes and hits me instead even though I m 2 years younger and a girl. My parents dont do anything and it gets annoying hearing them cry when he hurts them. Evidently, he has some self esteem and anger issues. I just want him to stop it, because they re little girls who can t defend themselves, and it is cowardly to beat up on little kids. He never got hit by my father when his was younger, and he is THE ONLY BOY in the house. I just think he does it because he is jelaous of how much attentiont they get and he doesnt. I am 13 years old and my parents got divorced about a year ago. My mom made me move to Washington with her (I lived in Texas) but now I can decide who to live with. She doesn't know that I might not be living with her anymore. She is now married to this guy whom I will never call my dad or even step dad. When people are around he's nice to me but when its just us two, he makes me do so much work compared to the siblings that live with me. One of which is older. He makes me do HIS laundry and clean HIS room while my sisters dust the TV stand then watch TV and hang out with friends. I also don't like my mom. And I'm not just saying that. I just really don't like her. Not to mention I can never sleep bc my room is above theirs and they're always doing it if you get what I'm saying. But I love my dad so much. He still lives in Texas with my brother and one of my other sisters. The last one is married so yeah. And I have friends in Texas. But I also have so many good friends in Washington. And I don't want to leave them. I really really don't want to leave them. I love my friends so much.

My mom and my family can all agree my dad has anger issues. Every once in a while my dad will get angry and then give you a wack. My dad feels bad about it afterwords but he always does it again. I have lost my trust with him and have a constant anger at him. I want to know if I am getting mad for no reason or if every parent does this.

I'm 15, girl. My family never plan anything. They wake up in the morning and decide that they're going to go shopping that day, or they decide that they want to eat out for dinner and leave in ten minutes when i need to shower making me anxious. They collect me from school and decide they want to go to my grandparents house for the evening even though all my books are at home for studying because i though id be going home. I prefer to plan what i'm going to do each hour in my planner, like when i will eat meals, when i will workout, when i will study in the schoolyear.� when Their go with the flow attitude doesn't help me. If something happens with my schedule like i have to go eat out for dinner at the same time as i had put in my planner as my workout time, the fact that i missed the time i had planned for working out makes me not workout at all. During the schoolyear i missed a lot of studying due to the fact i would be in my grandparents house for hours after school unexspectedly when all my books would be st home. I always ask the night before what are we doing tomororw and they always say they havent decided. They dont have a set time for anything even dinner. What can i do theyre always messing up my schedule. I get lifts of them from places like school even though school is a 5 minute drive im akways home at least an hour after school ends because they make random stops at shops etc.

My mum says that this is the last straw and that she won't feed me anymore, she says if I want to eat then I have to buy my own food. I'm going to starve! I can't buy my own food because I give all my JSA money to her as rent so I have no money left for myself. First her boyfriend moves in and bullies me and now this! What do I do? He still lives at home with me, mom dad, and sisters. He is almost 22 with a 23 year old girlfriend who i doubt has a job because no matter what, when he is home, so is she. He does have a job but lacks financial responsibility.. he has 2 warrants because he failed to pay traffic tickets, does not pay rent, but somehow always never has money. Be did move out on his own for about 3 months but ended up moving back it because he didn't have enough money. One time i got food for me and my sisters and he was asleep in his room. When i got back my dad calls me and complains that he called him because i didn't ask him if he wanted any! Yet the other day he returns with "just" drinks from sonic and my sister found empty sonic bags in the trash! Im getting really pissed that i have to keep buying food for my 22 year old brother and his girlfriend everytime i buy my younger sisters food. My parents are moving to another/bigger house and guess who is comming with? Thats right my brother who hasn't even thought of trying to move out. We have a cousin who is 26 who doesn't even have a drivers lisence, who is married, and still lives at home with mom and dad. And i it looks pretty much the same except my brothers girlfriend doesn't have a lisence in this situation. She doesnt even have a car either. What do i do?

Okay I'm 18 and still in high school, but I'm graduating this year, so anyways I have a problem with my family everything I do for them their never happy if I do something good like clean the house do the chores things like that. No matter what I do they always complain and it gets on my nerve sometimes I feel like just running away.

Okay so I'm 12 years old and whenever I get money for my birthday, Christmas, or for no reason from my aunt she ends up asking to borrow it. For example in January I got money instead of gifts and it all added up to $105. My mom of course knew I had money and asked if she could borrow $20 for gas but, then she need $20 more for groceries and she took the other $20 for bills. So I had about $45 left and we were out and about and my mom, brother, and I were kinda talking about going out to eat chinese because we hadn't in forever. So thats where the rest of money went. It has been 6 months since I let her borrow it and she still has not payed me back. She has done this in the past to though like on my 10nth birthday I got $10 and I let her borrow it too. One time my money went missing and to this day my mom said she has know clue what happened to it. It was $65 I got for Christmas two years ago and it just disappeared from the box I was keeping it in. I'm not trying to be rude to my mom but this is starting to frustrate me and I don't know what to do.

My mom told me that she would trade me and new phone ( 5c) for my 5s that the screen was falling off and had a crack and water damage so i was like i dont know and she was like now is your last chance no trade backs. so i took it. and today ( that all happened last night ) i noticed that it wasnt turning on it was just a black screen glowing with nothing else on it and when i told her the phone wasnt working she was like " you didnt ask if it worked when you took it " , what do i do?!

Why? for forgetting to confirm whether or not to use a powdered milk, which she bought recently, for my younger half siblings to make hot chocolate. Though the younger ones confirmed she said yes. I need some helpful advice on my 12 year old step daughter. She lives with her mom during school year. She lives with us during the summer and some holidays. I also have a daughter that is 8. My SD is driving me nuts this visit. She is so boy crazy. She made a huge list of big name brands items that she demands her dad to get her- along with makeup and lots of hair stuff. She is really trying to be 16-18 instead of 12. Dad of course just wants her to be happy. If he says no she says she will not come back next summer. When he is not home she locks her door and stays in her room. She will unlock for me to bring her food and snacks but barely speaks to me. I get the hateful glares and cold shoulder all the time. Then she tells her dad that I don't love her. I am worried about how her attitude will effect my daughter. I am so used to a quite and happy home- all the wining fussing and tantrums from a 12 year old are just too much. My nerves are shot. Advice?????

She calls my daughter by a different name, renamed my bird and always gives me parenting books and advice. And back in the spring me and my husband started working out and trying to get in shape and we bought ourselves new shoes for the first time like ever b/c we rarely buy things for ourselves and then the next day my mil takes our son to town and buys him a new pair of shoes and it made me and my husband feel like crap. Hi, I need help dealing with a certain annoying cousin (she's my second). I she's 12 years old and pretty big for a girl and i'm sick of her calling me ugly and that my life is pathetic. I'm 17 and in a year I'll be 18 . we've struggled with money our whole life. She doesn't have insurance and she wouldn'tbe able to pay off the dot . my bottoms right pointy tooth is being pushed to the front because Iink iI need my wisdom teeth out. We moved a year ago so we have no more aide and my dad doesn't pay child support. Except my aunt paid 100 dollars for my mom to get her pills and my aunt never gives a shot about me . like one day we were talking and my mom was saying how we try to eat healthy and my aunt goes "especially you" talking to my mom. Its no secret she doesn't really like me but I'm scared I'll have health problems in the future and I need to go . my mom doesn't have a car either. My aunt does. I haven't been to the doc in about three years . and my mom said she would take me its just the money .

At one time in our lives my husband and I had a good relationship with my step daughter but her mother interfered and drew us apart by her jealousy. This was back when my step daughter was 14. She is now 21 and still living with her mother. Her mother continues to bash my husband on Facebook and no he does not owe her any child support. We've tried many times to communicate with the daughter but the mother interferes and emails me telling me to stop trying. Funny thing is I feel by certain posts my step daughter wants to talk to me but feels imprisoned to do so. What should I do?

He doesn't do anything like really out of the ordinary. Except he always makes comments about my butt. One time my mom, him, my sister, and I were all in a car and somehow the conversation was about me taking a long time in the shower. When it comes to my family I often become alot nicer then I should be. I go and get a coffee I ask if anyone wants anything while I'm out....then out of the blue boom mom wants a donut, boom dad wants 2 sandwiches , boom brother and sister wants donut balls. So a simple walk to get a cup of coffee , a simple 2.56$ order for me, becomes a 17.88$...and this happens alot when I go out to get juice, I end up buying bags of groceries from my own money. It's always whenever I try to save money too...I don't mind helping the family out, it's just it sucks when I end up "nicely" giving all my money.

but I don't have a problem. I drink everyday before, during and after work. at social events, funerals and interviews. it relaxes me and I can deal with others better. I don't drink a lot just enough to feel it. one day i went to a funeral with some gin in my water bottle. by the end of service i was so drunk i stayed in the church bathroom until it was clear to leave. my friends say i need help but i say they need a drink. im also taking a drivers ed class and im thinking about taking a drink in there. i don't know what yall think

My mom died last year, hes always been kind of mischevious but now he just dosent care about everything, hes very deep and he does not care about fighting or anything. He gets into trouble and just dosent care?

He hit a pole in a home depot parking lot and now I am stuck footing the Bill for it. All he could say is I am sorry. Sorry aint gonna cut it I live pay check to pay check and can't afford to get this fixed right now. The front end is bashed in pretty bad and my deductible is not cheap. I let him borrow it out of the kindness of my heart so he could move something's. I am tempted to cause at least 590 dollars to his car to see how he would like it when someone hits you with a expensive bill. I know he got some new tires not to long ago they might be worth some cash. Basically he has to pay for this because of his acts. My mom is saying please don't do anything to his car it's special to him like my truck was not special to me. I don't want to put this on a credit card or get a pay day loan because that will hurt my good credit score of 790.

So I'm fourteen and I used to lie a lot so about a few months ago I got my iPod back where I was now allowed to text. However all my stuff gets checked everyday and I can't text when no one else is here. However I never thought about it until my step brother got a phone before me! He's 11 and he's allowed to text web no one else is here and can do what ever he wants on his phone? Is this bs or what?!?

I'm not really sure what to do. I just had my birthday and my mom gave me a pair of shorts. They were WAY to small. She said I could exchange them but when I went to the store and asked if I could try on some stuff she just said I was a spoiled brat and exchanged the shorts for clothes for my brother. Then she was talking about how I should be super happy because I have another present that's in the mail. I have gotten pumped up for two weeks. Then today she said that it got "lost in transit" and that I couldn't exchange it. Hello. I'm really, really stressed out right now, and it's because of my family. Here's the story. A few months ago, my family and I had a big argument about how much time we should spend in India this year. I didn't want to spend any time. It was the summer before college apps were due and if there were summer programs or something I could do, I wanted to be in the US. But, they insisted. And I pushed for 3 weeks, and they said 4 weeks. Eventually, my family just decided that it was going to be 5. I was very upset, but I came up with a plan about what I could do in India and what I could do in the US. Yesterday, my mom nonchalantly told me that we were extending our trip. I was heartbroken. I'm part of the editorial staff of the school paper next year, and I have training on August 8th, 10th, and 11th. We were supposed to arrive on the 5th. I told my mom this, and she said that it didn't matter and that they would understand. But here's the thing: I told them that I would be out of town for 5 weeks, and they catered the training days around everyone's needs. I can't just go back on my word. Plus, I just feel like they lied to me. Every year, my dad says how we'll spend less time in India the next year, and he lies every single time. If the current plan goes through, we would have spent a grand total of 9 days of the summer in the country we live in. My parents say they have work to do here, and I understand that, but I feel like a lot of the work is made up. And they're adults. If they say 5 weeks, they better get their stuff done in 5 weeks. I feel like my parents love being in India because they have more power here (we're wealthy here, but we're middle class in the US). I really don't know what to do. I confronted my mom and she told me that her and my dad have always supported everything I've wanted to do. And that's true. But, to be honest, I don't ask for much. They tell me that. I never go out with my friends and I don't ask for new gadgets unless they give them to me and I don't ask for new clothes. I'm a pretty good kid. I get great grades. They tell me all these things, and even though I put up a fight when they wanted to go to India this year, I've just sort of accepted it. They stabbed me in the front at that time, and now they're stabbing me in the back. It's really stressing me out. What do I tell the executive editors? My mom and dad lied to me, and I won't be able to do something I promised you I'd do? Part of it's also that I just want to be more mature and independent. My parents think that I'm this wild child, but I'm not. I'm the Indian version of a wild child, not the Californian version. Based on empirical evidence, I'm a pretty good kid. I'm so much better than 90% of kids at school. I'm really stressed and I have a lot of anxiety now. This just sort of blind-sided me. I barely slept last night, and I can't eat anything today. What do I do? I have no one to talk to. I look at my friends, crushes, and it all seems like they have a better life. I'm just so jealous. I have a lot to be thankful for, but I'm not happy at all. More and more now, it's becoming so that I can't wait to go to college and leave. I feel so guilty that I feel that way. I just don't fit and I want to feel like I have more than a little control over my life. Imagine how much more my sister and I would have learned if we spent all the money we spend on India tickets on tickets elsewhere.

I'm 23 years old now and I'm the youngest from 4 children. Now I want to start studying in a college with dorms far away from my house. However my parents don't allow it, they want me to live with them. Why? I want to move away.

So my parents are divorced and both have new partners, I now live with my mom and she would want another child if possible, she is around 30 something. You knows how much I want it and we talked about it. She would want another baby and I'd love a sibling! But my relationship with my step father is quite bad, I mean I'm the one ignoring him and not wanting him as my father. So I was wondering how I should convince him?
