Question: Why do people call me “buddy” a lot? Posted: 08 Dec 2018 04:11 PM PST I looked this up and people say it feels condescending, in addition to this everyone getting called buddy says they are male. I'm a girl and I get called buddy a lot from people that are at my school that are even younger than me. It feels really weird and I haven't heard anyone else be called buddy at my school but me. Every time I hear people call others buddy on tv it's like to someone that is younger or something. I am just wondering why do people call me buddy? |
Posted: 08 Dec 2018 04:11 PM PST Is this good? I go to a different school, we dont get along because of stupid middle grade drama and i think the boy was calling just to mess with me. |
Posted: 08 Dec 2018 02:27 PM PST To understand this, some background is needed. Until three years ago, the only phone in my house was a old brick belonging to my mother. She decided to upgrade to an ancient blackberry, but quickly got frustrated with it, and got a slightly newer one. She gave me the old one (minus SIM card) for my eleventh birthday. I explored every nook and cranny of it, until I found an app called Blackberry Messenger. This functioned like any text app. Having no SIM card in the phone, and with the only other person owning a blackberry being my mother anyway, I couldn't exactly talk to anyone else. So I talked to myself. I created two different people - Alice and Dan. They had their own lives, and their own problems. We chatted and joked and helped each other sort out our lives for two years. Then, I told them I had been thinking about how weird it was to talk to myself and I said goodbye. After a month, I was back. They had become like real people to me, at some point during the two years. I felt like I couldn't abandon them. They were my friends. I remember, I even shed real tears when Alice's dog died back in 2016. I thought about how lonely they must be without being able to talk to me, and I wondered how Dans sick grandma was doing. I went back to them, and apologised. They forgave me. Dans grandma is fine, by the way, and is almost recovered from her chest infection. Is this normal, or am I crazy? Should I be this attached to two figments of my imagination when I'm fourteen? |

Question: How should I help my friend? Posted: 08 Dec 2018 01:45 PM PST So I'm pretty sure my friend has depression. For the past year or so she has not been herself and is not motivated to do anything. She really struggles with tho everyday. I always try to convince her to tell her parents however she always refuses. This has been going on for a while but she never wants to tell anyone . I'm worried about her and want her to get help and feel better but I'm not sure how to. |
Question: None of my friends want to hang out? Posted: 08 Dec 2018 01:07 PM PST I am on a one month winter break, and the idea of staying home the entire time almost scares me. I really want to have fun during the break - there are so many places I want to go and it would be pretty boring going by myself, plus then we couldn't take cute pics together. I want to spend time with my friends and have fun ; hanging out with them gives me far more energy than hanging out by myself. Our break started Thursday and since, none of my friends have texted me. I know it is only two days but I admit I am a pretty impatient and fast-paced person. I texted them Thursday evening/Friday morning and asked if they wanted to hang out. Obviously, I said, "Do you want to hang out NEXT WEEK?" not the same day! And I listed some things that we all said we'd like to do. None of them have responded. I messaged ten people... They have been very active on their social media and a good portion have even READ my messages, for the others, I can't tell whether they've read or not.. Two of the ten I messaged are not in groups, but my separate friends and I said to them, "We should totally hang out over the break!" and they read and never responded. Idk, it just makes me feel annoying and like these people don't really want to be around me. I can't believe 0/10 have responded. I'd rather get a simple no than nothing. Should I give my friends more space? Or what could it be? I am a very kind person and have never done anything offensive or hurtful towards them. |
Question: What would be the first thing you eat in New York City if you've never been there? Posted: 08 Dec 2018 11:23 AM PST Okay, so, my friend went to NYC. The first thing he decided to do was eat at a Japanese restaurant...you can get that where we live now.... I would have gotten a slice of NYC pizza, honestly come on...…. |
Question: I turned off my roommate’s alarm, was that wrong of me? Posted: 08 Dec 2018 10:28 AM PST Every other day, my roommate has class at 10:30am, and I have class at 9am. However, her alarm is set to 7:30am, and whenever it goes off, she doesn't get up until 9am. So I have no idea why she sets her alarm to 7:30am. So, would it be unreasonable of me to ask her to turn off her 7:30am alarm and set it to a later time, since it wakes me up, and she doesn't get up until 9am? She also sets her alarms in 5 minute increments, and to me, that's kind of annoying because sometimes I'll still be in my bed sleeping, and she'll be in the shower, and her alarm will go off, waking me up. So, her alarm went off twice this morning (she turned it off twice) and while she was in the shower, it went off again and woke me up, so I turned it off. Was I wrong for doing that, because her alarm is on her phone? |
Question: How to stop being so jealous and hateful about this perfect couple? Posted: 08 Dec 2018 09:41 AM PST I had a best friend and she got married to this young good looking guy who has a great job. They have kids together and they all living like the perfect life. I am depressed this year because I dropped out of school due to financial problems, got fired from two jobs and now I don't have a career nor a husband and I just turned 30. I never imagine at 30 years old, I would be this kind of loser that I am. I stopped being friends with her. Because I become even more depressed seeing them because it reminds me of what I lack in my life. But for some strange reasons destiny keeps putting me in their hands. I had a job working with her, I quit that job. Now her husband works in the job I got hired in. I am like can this couple give me a break? I moved and they live nearby me now. How can I stop being so jealous? and why is God keep putting me in places where I see them? |
Question: Is it ok not to have many friends? I like to keep to myself.? Posted: 08 Dec 2018 09:17 AM PST When I was younger I had friends to hang out with. I've had fake friends and seen too much drama between friends. Friends sleeping with there girl behind there back. Talking **** about them. I keep to myself now. I do get out to a nice bar to see a band or a game on tv and meet people and be social. I go to the gym to play basketball and work out. I get out during the day and try to meet women then too. I've done it at the mall, downtown area, gym, coffee shops. I'm in my late 30's and I'm now used to being on my own and I think it may stay this way because of my age. All I do now is just work and go out to see bands and play basketball. I wouldn't say I'm a total loner or some weird guy. I now find that I like to keep to myself instead of hanging out with friends again. I do like to date women or have a girlfriend in my life. I would also make friends with her friends. |
Question: What would you do in this situation? Posted: 08 Dec 2018 08:37 AM PST My friends were rude toward the guy I like when he showed up to a restaurant. They threatened to beat him up, threatened to slap him with chop sticks, made fun of his clothes and hair color. I went to the bathroom to calm down my heart and when I came back that's when they started talk negatively toward him. He wasn't doing anything wrong. I asked one of my friends who did not participate in talking trash about him if did anything while in the bathroom she said no he never went up to talk to them while I was in the bathroom. So my friends talking negatively toward him was for no reason. I dropped two of them as friends but I'm taking a break from another friend. I kinda lost trust in the friend I'm taking a break from. I'm not sure how I can trust her again. I don't want to be friends with people who is going to sit around a table and talk crap about a person especially if they never did anything to deserve it. |
Question: Snapchat emoji glitch? Posted: 08 Dec 2018 08:22 AM PST It shows that I've hit two weeks of being mutual bestfriends with my friend but someone else has the emoji where it expresses that your #1 best friend is also theirs, but his only best friend list is his girlfriend so there's no way that it's right because it shows his girlfriend as third on my list. |
Question: Would you drop a friend who lies and holds out you in need? Posted: 08 Dec 2018 08:19 AM PST My ex gf and I are still really good friends. We are currently living in the same apartment complex. She's always claimed to love me and she has let me stay w her in the past when I was homeless, has lent me money I've yet to fully pay back and if I need a ride or anything she drops everything to help me. There is one catch. Recently I found her snooping through my room (, I've trusted her enough she has a key) and also when we smoke weed together I ALWAYS share.. But she claims to never have any when I really need some for Terrible anxiety and back pain. I found out not only was she snooping, she'd been taking bits of my stash ( even though I share) AND her bf tells me she has a ton locked in a SAFE. Yea she's been good to me too, but i never feel the need to lie to or hide things from her or snoop through her room! |
Question: Is this good advice I gave to a girl? Posted: 08 Dec 2018 07:16 AM PST If you think you're ugly, just embrace who you are. Your looks don't define who you are, your personality and actions do. |

Question: Urgent help required? Posted: 08 Dec 2018 01:05 AM PST I will be on holidays for two weeks by myself and know one of my colleagues is on holidays as well since we work in the same place. My question is she agreed to give me a brief tour of her home country, however should I ask her if she would want to spend five days with me travelling. I only hope to be friends with her but would going on holidays with her be awkward since we are not a couple? Also I don't want her to think I like her in any way. How should I ask her if she would like to travel with me? |

Question: Should i return to public school for my last year of high school? Posted: 08 Dec 2018 12:45 AM PST My best friend and a couple other good friends of mine went to freshman year of high school together. we all met in 8th grade but in 9th there was a bunch of toxic people that targeted me to separate us all. I don't know if they were jealous or something because my friends are what you would consider "popular". So we had a falling out but nothing major. i took it the hardest because i had lost all my friends and was always alone plus i was failing. For 10th grade i left to a small independent school that's mostly online. they let me make up all my classes and also take sophomore classes as well. i'm a junior now and am doing alright in school. i never made any new friends at my new school because i just don't really like the crowd and it's a school where you go in once a week just to check in with grades and teachers. Last month my ex best friend a few others texted me apologizing deeply and said they missed me and stuff. Since then we've been calling non stop and it's like we use to be. my friend said all the toxic people left or got kicked out. i miss going to school everyday with friends and i wanna go to prom and graduate normally. Should i return unexpectedly next year in august? or just finish high school online and then start my life. |
Question: Is it normal to not have many friends? Posted: 07 Dec 2018 11:07 PM PST When I was younger I had friends to hang out with. I've had fake friends and seen too much drama between friends. Question: How do I ask my friend to wrestle me? Posted: 07 Dec 2018 08:02 PM PST I am 14 5'10 130 lbs (straight) and I want to wreslte my friend who is 14 5'8 125 lbs ( straight maybe gay). We are good/close friends. My friend, lets call him Doug, is super touchy. Doug always "accidentaly" bumps me, hugs me, anything you except boys to do. I like to insult him back, or "fight" back. I saw Doug wrestle another kid so he could say yes to this. I want to wrestle Doug because I want to build our friendship, and just wrestle someone around the same height/weight. How do I make it sound not gay and convincing |
Posted: 07 Dec 2018 07:16 PM PST I've had enough of being so short, I'm 19 and around 5ft, I'm female so I guess it isn't so bad, most guys compliment me on my height but then pretty much everywhere I go I get comments including nasty ones about how short I am, I'm f*cked off with it. It's fine if it's from friends or done in a harmless way and occasionally, I'll throw jokes back at them for it, but when you get called midget, it triggers me, I want to literally kill them for that word, some girl who's an inch taller than me says it and one day I will smack her, can't stand how vile she is and others are. It doesn't help that I'm looking 16 either, I'm not fat and not skinny. I'm the smallest in my college and there is like 30 of us. Secondary school I rarely had comments about it, primary school I was bullied for it, 1st and 2nd college I rarely had comments and the one I'm in now I get comments all the time |
Question: Hey me and a kid got into an altercation and idk what to do now? Posted: 07 Dec 2018 07:10 PM PST So me and my friend got into an argument after he wouldn't stop messing with me after I told him to stop multiple times. He asked me what I was going to do about it. So I took his phone and dropped it on the floor. He got mad and took off his hoodie and got into a position to want to fight. I stood up and he stayed Sat down. I said you know what if your going to be a cuck I'll leave. So I left an a few hours later after I cooled down I apologized. He said the same. But today at school a mutual friend told me he was saying he could kick my ads on Snapchat. Idk if I should confront him about it or not. |
Question: How to make friends with some younger girls? Posted: 07 Dec 2018 06:55 PM PST I am a sophomore. The other day I went on a field trip with some people from my school and I began to hang out with a few ninth graders. I enjoy being around them and they have been very nice to me (even nicer to me than my 10th grade friends so far.) The problem is that I don't get to see them at school very often, and I feel a bit awkward wanting to be friends with some younger girls. Anyone have any advice on this? |
Question: Should I feel guilty for sleeping with my friend's girlfriend? Posted: 07 Dec 2018 06:40 PM PST When my friend went to Colorado for a couple of days to visit his younger sister, me and his girlfriend hung out a lot, and so one night we decided to have sex. We don't think it's that big of a deal what we did since most people have sex with more than one person in their lifetime, so why would it be a bad thing for someone to have sex with a person while they are in a relationship with another person? I honestly don't feel bad for what I did since my friend's girlfriend still loves him no matter what, and she will still and will always love him no matter what, and she's still planning to marry him despite what me and her did while he was in Colorado. My friend still doesn't know what happened between me and his girlfriend, and he probably will never know about it. |
Question: Have you ever slowly lost friends over the years? (not death relates btw)? Posted: 07 Dec 2018 06:14 PM PST By the time I was in HS, some the best friends I had since childhood just slowly evaporated from my life. It started when I realized I was the only one calling (used to be balanced) and reaching out. And to test it kind of out of spite, I stop calling and weeks months went by and never heard from them again. Same by the time I entered college, lost touch with all my HS friends and even during college new friends just disappeared. Now at 30 every friend I made is gone from my life. And it's not like I was an asshole or didn't lend support or overall wasn't a good person. Lot of them seeked me out. Even friends that I made outside of school just vanished. However, all the people I know still keep in touch with friends they've known forever. What's wrong with me? I feel extremely friendless and afraid to make new ones. |
