Question: Are dry bridal showers ever acceptable ? Posted: 07 Oct 2019 08:15 PM PDT I asked this question before and got accused of being a troll so maybe I didn't explain clearly enough.. my cousins fiancé was registered at FOUR different stores with most gifts being well over 75 bucks.. no, bridal showers aren't about alcohol. But if you expect guests to drop that kinda money isn't it greedy not to take care of them? |
Question: Tacky bridal shower etiquette? No alcohol? ? Posted: 07 Oct 2019 03:58 AM PDT So my cousins fiancé had her bridal shower yesterday and I was really disgusted.. it was a dry bridal shower with no alcohol. After spending 70 bucks on a gift, I was really disappointed. I thought it was so cheap. She drinks , not often, but she does and to not even have wine available was so tacky. Anyone else ever been to a dry shower? Horrible. |
Question: As a wedding guest, is it appropriate to wear a white tie on top of a dark blue shirt? Posted: 03 Oct 2019 03:27 PM PDT Or is a white tie something that should be avoided at weddings? |
Question: Would you find it sweet if a guy takes care of a girl who grew up alone? Posted: 03 Oct 2019 01:14 AM PDT And is mistreated by everyone and has no one to defend her. He comes in and rescues her, although he had no intention of falling in love, because he already has his own fair share of trouble. But when he sees how even people who are supposed to love her attack her, let alone people outside of her family. The poor girl is left alone and plans to take her own life but the guy saves her. Isn't it heartwarming to have someone out there who cares about you? The girl in the story was mistreated and called many things, while other meaner girls, who were spoiled and hated on the girl, were always supported by many, and ended up being right. So he comes and changes everything, getting mad at her being treated like that and threathening the girls |
Question: If someone says, "He's got the tiger by the tail," what exactly do they mean? Posted: 28 Sep 2019 05:05 AM PDT I was at a wedding recently and one of the old women from my Church (who knows the bride and her family well) remarked that "[the groom] has got the tiger by the tail. |
Posted: 13 Sep 2019 08:49 AM PDT Everyone I've asked and everything I've read online completely differs in opinion, and I trust people hiding behind their keyboards on a site like this to be more honest than blogs or online magazines. Do I bring a gift to the bachelorette, or is that just more of a "girls gone (mildly) wild" situation? What kinds of gifts are appropriate for the bridal shower? I keep reading things like dishes, towels, etc. but isn't that the kind of thing you gift for the actual wedding? |
Question: Was this funny or tacky? Posted: 10 Sep 2019 04:21 PM PDT I was at a wedding of a couple of my friends recently. They both have an unusual sense of humor. As the bride entered the back of the church, she was escorted down the aisle by her former husband. There was an audible gasp from the audience. When the minister asked who gives this woman ....... her former husband said I do. There was applause from the audience and some laughter. The theme of the wedding was out with the old and in with the new. Do you think that was funny or just plain tacky. |
