Posted: 19 Oct 2019 01:03 AM PDT My girlfriend and I have been going out for almost two years and are planning on getting engaged in a few months. Everything is going great, we are definitely very in love with each other. The only problem is that sometimes she ignores me and won't even look at me when we get into an argument. What usually happens is she will say something "off" (either very passive-aggressive or stand-offish), and I'll ask her what's wrong or if I said something wrong. She'll then start to get upset and tell me to stop pushing the issue, even though sometimes I've only asked once. I'll then try to explain that I'm only trying to figure out what happened and that I'm confused, to which she gets even more angry. Eventually it escalates to the point that she will just literally turn her back to me and ignore me, even refusing to look at me. This used to only happen in private, but it's gotten to the point that it will happen in public too. Most of the time this will continue for several hours until she will talk to me again. Also, most of the time we try to talk about this afterwards, she winds up shutting down and refusing to talk to me again, except this time in more of a depressed way than angry one. It just hurts because everything else in our relationship is so wonderful, and I wish we could get past this. I love her with my whole heart and I want us to be as healthy as possible going into this next chapter. Thanks for taking the time to read. God bless! |
