I have known Joe for years and we dont hook up a lot, but when we do its not like a serious thing. I have recently met one of Joe's friends, "Kyle," because we all go to the same gym and I kind of have a thing for him-we flirted a bit. Kyle just found out about Joe and I, and now I feel like I have no chance with him because typically you dont go after people your friends have been with...but this case is different because Joe and I have never dated or anything. I feel it could definitely be weird being in Kyle's position. I have not been able to talk to either guys about it yet, so what is your take on this? We are all 23-25 years old if that puts things into perspective. I think Kyle is a catch and has a lot of good qualities, but I feel like my situation with Joe ruined it. I also understand that his daughter will always be his priority and I wouldn't expect anything different, but I don't know if this might be a problem in future for me. And there's the fact that I'm almost finished with college, and he hasn't even started it, he'll start next year. He didn't go to college when he finished high school because his daughter had been just born, so it wasn't his priority. That's about 7 girls I messaged, and nothing. I don't really have any friends I can rely on to help me out. Even when I did have friends 10 years ago they wouldn't help me find a girlfriend and really they were against idea of me finding one. Still go to a couple of young adults groups that's going nowhere. One I just don't feel any connection to the people there anymore, all the people I used to know stopped going, and the people that replaced them so young that it makes things awkward for me to be there. And even though it's usually church groups are usually mostly girls, for me when I go to these groups it's usually mostly guys. He had a horrible life in the past (druggy mom went to prison and lives with family that doesn't love him very much). That's when i decided to call it quits because i was unhappy and we would fight every day bc our opinions were so different. He has depression and is now using it as an excuse to go party and get wasted. He cried to a mutual friend about me while he was drunk and ended up throwing up. I have been way happier since we broke up, knowing it was mutual as we both decided it's for the best. he can party, and i can stop worrying about him. He asked me how i'm doing so good and told me he has been breaking down every day. i asked him when we first broke up if he wants to get back together in the future and he kept saying he doesn't know. i took that as a no bc i don't deserve someone who doesn't know if they want to love me.
