Question: How do I tell my family I don’t care about my cousins baby? Posted: 08 Oct 2019 02:09 PM PDT My cousin has a one year old and I constantly have to hear about him from my family and it's literally going to make me go insane. I don't like babies and I don't care. |
Posted: 08 Oct 2019 01:58 PM PDT I wrote about it earlier and he is mentally ill so they all blame me but he is in his 30's and not a little kid. Are cousin is mentally ill and she works, socializes, and doesn't say bad things like my brother. How do I get everyone to stop blaming me? Even our grandmother blames me and got my cousin to get mad at me. choko_canyon I post this anonymous cause I don't want my name out there cause of people like my parents. |
Question: Do you keep old Christmas, birthday, Mother's/Father's Day cards....? Posted: 08 Oct 2019 01:57 PM PDT ....I'm going through my late parent's stuff and I think it's okay to trash these items but my siblings think we should kerp them. Any thoughts? I just don't see the need. |
Question: My mom wants my brother to always be with me? Posted: 08 Oct 2019 12:45 PM PDT I'm really into art, and I'm in my junior year of high school and credits are really crucial, so I'm planning to join art club. I told my mom this, and instead of encouraging me and asking me about it, she tells me that my little (freshman) brother will also join. I was going to join with my best friend, one I don't get any quality (alone?) time with in school because of my brother, and now he's going to join an after school club with us, one he's not remotely interested in? My brother says he doesn't want to go home alone everyday, but when I was his age I walked home every single day alone. This club is only ONE DAY A WEEK. This always happens, my mom always wants him to be with me and I'm fed up. When I explained my feelings, they both said "is it because (my friend) is in the club?" All I want is to be an independent person, and I want to have my interests separate from my brother, who has none in common with me. If he was actually interested in the club, it would be a different story. It shouldn't be treated as a joke and I don't understand why he's getting special treatment, but it's always been like this. Is there anything I can do to prevent this? |
Posted: 08 Oct 2019 12:38 PM PDT I currently live in an apartment with my boyfriend, his mother and our newborn son but his nephew basically lives with us as well. The apartment is mine and my boyfriends but my boyfriend said his mom wanted to come along to help with our son so after he persuaded me i finally agreed but apparently, his brother is unable to care for his nephew because he is always traveling and the mother is unemployed and doesnt care about her son. It is insane I feel like I have no peace in my home as his nephew is so rude i cant stand it. I shouldn't have to deal with someone elses child. What should I do? I love my boyfriend and I want to be together but this child is too much. I wasn't prepared for it & even if i say something they still bring the child EVERY SINGLE DAY to my apartment and he even sleeps over the majority of the time. |
Question: Why did my mama die? Posted: 08 Oct 2019 09:37 AM PDT My mom died after doctors wouldn't belive her symptoms, she died last year but its just started to hit me that I will not see her until I die. I miss her a lot she wasn't the best, not even close but she was mine..I only have my granny, my sister is with her dad and she has a life and doesn't need her little sister, my little sisters live with their mom and aren't old enough to understand half siblings and that my mom is dead but their is alive. But why? Why did she let go, did I not love her enough, did she not love me, was I not enough? Im only 12 and I get reminded of her everyday, we live in a small town where everyone knows everyone, I hate when someone stops me and says their sorry.. My friends don't under stand and I HATE when someone say 'I understand I had a grandparent who died when I was 4!'' I MEAN WHY SAY THAT??? the only person who somewhat understands me is my sister and this kid from school, Bradly, his dad died of the same reason of my mom.. |
Posted: 08 Oct 2019 08:49 AM PDT My parents want me to hate who they hate. I refuse to and I like this aunt though it is true she is verbally abusive. I am not going to seek her out but if her son who is with her calls I am happy to cross paths her through him. They are in town for a funeral in her husband's family but staying through the weekend. My parents don't like her so are trying to get my siblings and I not to. My parents poison us with venting their anger about others and using us as a pawn to get others back. |
Question: What would you do in my place ? Posted: 08 Oct 2019 08:31 AM PDT My paternal aunt and my father once invested in a program a few years ago ,at the very beginning ,the programs was doing well ,My father made some money from it ,and split the profits with my paternal aunt ,later ,for unknown reasons ,the business was bad,so my father sold this shop to others at a discount ,and made a huge loss ,but My paternal aunt thought that she didn't recover her investments ,and wanted to get back her money ,which means she didn't get a good return on investment ,and asked my father to paid her back ,My father said that it's investment ,and got into a huge quarrel with her over this ,Now my aunt always try to reach my father ,but my father doesn't want to take her calls and said my aunt is unreasonable ,and my aunt begin to ask me to convey her message to him ,which really got on my nerve ,I said that it doesn't concern me at all ,what's more ,My aunt often said bad things about my father in his back ,said he is cheater ,deep down ,I don't want to involve me in this and it have nothing to do with me ,in my opinion ,my aunt should go to my father , |
Posted: 08 Oct 2019 08:24 AM PDT My mother is going to ask me to remember to call or text him a happy birthday. Back in August when we were on the family vacation he got mad when I asked him to use another one of the bathrooms in the house and he choked me. Our parents made excuses for him cause he is mentally ill. It is never right to grab and choke a woman and yet our parents made excuses for him cause he is mentally ill. They say it is okay for him to do this but it is not. I am 26 and don't want to be abused and the mentally ill brother is even older like 35 or something. So what do I do come Thursday when our Mom wants me to call and wish him a happy birthday? I told my parents I never wanted to speak to him again and they got mad at me instead of the mentally ill one who grabbed and choked me. I'm out of the home as is my mentally ill brother. But we were on a family vacation. |
Question: How to deal with a bipolar mother? ? Posted: 08 Oct 2019 08:17 AM PDT One minute she's happy , the next she's arguing with me for no reason and then takes my phone away and calls me " disrespectful " it's constantly happening everyday and it always ruins my mood. I'll be in my room minding my business and she'll come in just to pick a fight and gets mad when I respond back to her |

Question: How do i convince my dad to stop wearing short shorts? Posted: 08 Oct 2019 07:26 AM PDT hello, everyone. my name is Myley Mackintosh. my dad is almost 60, and he walks around in short shorts all the time. like when we go to church or go out to eat, he puts on a pair of *really* short short shorts and a t-shirt that says "best dad ever". everyone points fingers and laughs at him, yet i am humiliated to death. |
Question: What can a teenager do when his mother is abusive? Posted: 08 Oct 2019 06:59 AM PDT My 19 year old friend is having some issues with his bipolar mother, she threatens to get him admitted into Western Psych (psych ward) because she "doesnt feel like taking care of him" and her delusions convince her that he's a drug dealer (??) and all this other weird stuff. How can he legally get this situated? she also steals his things and locks him out of the house. what should he do? he doesn't currently have enough money to afford his own place He has a job! Just not enough for his own place. That costs a lot of money you know. |
Question: How to deal with a narcissistic mom?7? Posted: 08 Oct 2019 06:36 AM PDT I'm 16 and I obviously can't move out of the house and ignore my mother. Everything I say to her " I'm disrespectful " and everything I do is " you're a bad child " and I'm far from that. She doesn't lete do anything because " I said so " any tips? |
Question: Fall break is next week, and my parents registered me for day care? Posted: 08 Oct 2019 06:17 AM PDT the county in which i live is having fall break next week, so that means there's no school for me and my siblings. my dad is taking my older brother on a fishing trip, and my mom is taking my two sisters (12 and 17) to las vegas. however, they didn't make any plans for me. even though im 15, im not allowed to stay home alone, so my parents signed me up for daycare. i'll stay there every day of the week for fall break week, and i'll probably be with a bunch of 3-5 year olds. i don't want to be laughed at or judged, but my parents said that they can't afford to bring me on vacation, but they don't trust me to stay home alone. yesterday afternoon we visited the day care, and the manager said that they'll take me in at a reasonable price, and they even have food and boarding for the week, so my mom agreed. they had a bunch of loud kids watching stupid kid's shows and playing kid's games, and some kids who are not yet potty-trained. they'll probably feed me cheerios and make me play simon says there. so how do i convince my mom to take me with my sisters to las vegas. after all, im a girl, and they can afford it. |
Question: We're having a baby after 2 months. Now his other mom is mad. What did I do? Posted: 08 Oct 2019 05:34 AM PDT My boyfriend of only 2 month's other baby's mom is mad because we're having a baby. She said that she's not happy at all, because he doesn't take care of his child already, so why have another one. She THINK I'm trying to make her mad but really I just like him. it's really not my fault that he doesn't do anything for their child. All she want is child support and I think that is so sad of her. Now She's talking about me on Facebook saying "I'm stupid for getting pregnant by him and she hopes our baby die". What did I do wrong? |
Question: Why do I feel trapped at 19? Posted: 08 Oct 2019 04:43 AM PDT I'm 19 years old, it all started when I got my 2 first felonies I was 17 everything has been going down hill like life is hitting me , I've had jobs I just hate going I don't wanna keep going somewhere the rest of my life , my mom moved 4 hours away I wanna leave with her but I have an older brother here that I don't wanna leave but at the same time I just wanna go live with my mom , I never finished high school, at this point I feel like there's no purpose in living we live to die and it sucks. |
Posted: 08 Oct 2019 01:16 AM PDT I am currently 21. If I said my plan at the moment was to obtain a great job, Move out of my Grandmas House, Have a wife and kids, finance a car that I love and launch my music career, would that be too far optimistic? I know this question may be rhetorical to some. However, I would like assistant reassurance that I am reaching for something within the realm of reality. Any and all answers are appreciated. Thank you for your time in reading my question. P.S. , I donr have parents so I resort to this website for answers. Thank you |
Question: Should I download a messenger app to keep in touch with family and friends? Posted: 08 Oct 2019 12:37 AM PDT I went off social media altogether because I got hacked on a site. I was thinking of maybe getting a messenger app but is it worth it to get one? I know it would be good to keep in touch with my friends and family but do I need it? |
Posted: 07 Oct 2019 10:39 PM PDT My brother has a terrible temper, and a very low pain tolerance. He got angry because his favorite wrestler lost the match on Sundays pay-per view, and he destroyed my gaming pc. He broke my mom's curio cabinet earlier this year. He's punched holes several times, broken two windows, and the patio door. That's just to name a few. An hour ago, he got a bad toothache, and took the back of a hammer to my mom's tv. He said that anything he does during anger or pain does not count as him doing anything bad, and no one should be angry with him. He refuses to pay for any damages. by the way, he's not a little boy like you're probably expecting, he's 28, and lives with our mom because he can't get a job. My mom has reached a point of just being numb to it all. She used to yell at him, but now she's like a zombie. I don't know what to do. I'm his 16 year old sister. |
Question: Does a younger sibling count as an ancestor if they die before their older sibling? Posted: 07 Oct 2019 09:54 PM PDT I'm 40,and my younger brother died suddenly when he was 28...I was just wondering if he would count as one of my ancestors. |
Question: Not everyone like blondes? Posted: 07 Oct 2019 08:28 PM PDT I am naturally blonde with green eyes with light skin and I am in shape, so I would think people love blondes from social media and movies, but in real life, I met many people say I am not their type and they prefer black hair or tan skin or red-haired women. I am not saying only blondes are attractive. |

Posted: 07 Oct 2019 07:50 PM PDT I have no energy I have both a cold and my rag. I am sick of the blues and I just want to take a bath. Meanwhile my family is pestering me about my money troubles and responsibilities. Any advice? |
Question: How do I forgive my mother? Posted: 07 Oct 2019 06:46 PM PDT It's weird asking strangers about stuff like this but I genuinely want someone else's input. When I was younger my mom and dad broke up, I don't have many memories of them together. After that my mom became a very selfish person, that much I do remember. She would leave us at her friends house at night while she went out, she would work during the day and leave as soon as she got a chance leaving me and my older sister to watch our younger siblings who were 2, 4, and 8...I was 11. We would cook, clean and watch the kids until she got home at all hours of the night. She also did some very messed up things with a boyfriend that she ended having a baby with. She let him watch us in the bathtub and lot of other things that I won't mention here. For a long time me and my siblings acted as if it never happened. Until I was about 16 and I really started to remember everything that happened and how disgusting it all was. And sometimes I look at her and just wonder what else she would have let him do if he didn't go to jail. I love her she's my mom, but I honestly can't stand to be around her sometimes. |
Posted: 07 Oct 2019 06:12 PM PDT How do I prevent her one day having a chip on her shoulder about me one day? My brother she liked until he got married and has not liked him in the 7 years since. She loves him but complains the whole time he and his wife and their 2 kids visit. My sister is married and she likes her husband and adores their daughter. I am single and childless and am the one she likes the most. I used to resent her cause she divorced my Dad but in recent years I like being her favorite so like her again. Also our Dad died in 2012. So my question is how do I prevent my mother having a chip on her should against me one day the way she does my brother? She even hates visiting my brother and his family as she does nothing but complain about it afterward. She goes for my brother's birthday each year and leaves after a day (it is an 8 hour drive to where he lives). That is how extreme it is. |
Posted: 07 Oct 2019 05:17 PM PDT I have tried to talk to him about moving with me but he has refused to even pay me a visit, I have begin to wonder if he even cares at all about me. I gave him his phone and when I tell him to visit me and go to his grandfathers and care about him too he is very reluctant just putting his earphones back on his ears. Its like he refuses to see the outside world. I am trying my best to help his grandfather with the bills and he just wont even meet me halfways. He even went out of town to try to learn to work but he came back and hardly accomplished anything. Is he just being lazy and taking a long break after his failure of graduation or is he really just careless and am I going to have a problem forever reaching out to him. I feel like this person who is just bothering him when I just care about his future and Im worried about him completing his graduation requirements. I need help training him but he is overage and very unresponsive. Is there anyway I can correct my son while i already live away from him? I have a mother who doesn't even scold him and its not helping him mature or encouraging him at all. I am worried that he will just live there leaching off her and being her slave with no pay. |
Question: Why can't people respect how much I like pizza? Posted: 07 Oct 2019 05:07 PM PDT Okay, so I really love pizza a lot (NOT with mushrooms). And everyone knows I loooove pizza. But they are so disrespectful aboyt it! When I want to go out with my friends, they always say "want to get pizza" and then they laugh under their breath. And my parents always say, "oh haha here comes our pizza lover". It is so rude I just really like pizza and am not want to be a joke anymore . Just respect me and what I like! how do I get them to stop |
Question: How do I handle my intrusive mother in law? Posted: 07 Oct 2019 04:56 PM PDT Recently I got married and now am part of a new family. I love them all! My husbands mother homeschooled all the siblings, so the family is very close. Sometimes uncomfortably close. my mother in law seems to be unusually interested in mine and my husband's personal life. She asks him if we had sex before marriage, asked how many sex partners we each had, she went through his amazon purchases and asked us about what we planned on doing with some lingerie he bought. Weird things like that. I personally don't understand why a mother would want to know about those details about her son.. I'm not sure if that's just a mother thing or what.. She also has a strange obsession with my hair ( I have thick curly hair) she's constantly trying to style her hair like mine, asking me how to get my hair (she has straight hair with a slight wave to it) not super weird, I'll take it as a complement, but when my husband and I talk about me passing the curly hair on to our children she swears they will get the curly hair from her and that our kids will have her genes. Is this weird? She gives off a Norman Bates-vibe towards her son... am I the only one who would feel this way? |
Question: Friendship advice... 10 points? Posted: 07 Oct 2019 04:53 PM PDT I'm planning on reaching out to an old friend this weekend. Basically I had a long time best friend that I've been best friends with since first grade, and in November 2017 in ninth grade we had a fight and stopped being friends and our moms got involved it was so bad. i found out this year she switched to a new school and I think its because her biological dad got custody over the kids (her and her sisters) because her biological mom's new husband was abusive. I still have her humber and its been a long time so I want to reach out. how should I do it? should I text her and ask how she is? What if she doesn't want to be friends? |
Question: Why can't Americans live with parents until they get married? Posted: 07 Oct 2019 03:42 PM PDT Why is it that Americans don't follow customs like other countries where people live with parents in the family home until they marry? I don't understand it. |
