I proposed to my man yesterday on his birthday because when we first started talking about the idea of marriage, he told me that he wanted me to be the one to propose because he wouldn't never propose to someone again after his first marriage fell apart. My man doesn't feel any less of a "man" because I was the one who proposed, so why do people make it such a big deal about women proposing? My mother is having a huge hissy fit over me proposing and we even left early to go to his mom's house to finish Thanksgiving because my mother wouldn't stop bringing it up so as of yesterday my mother and I haven't spoken because she won't drop the issue. #Women are perfectly capable of proposing to their men just as men are.
