Instead hr offered to spend the money on a great honeymoon?

I dont believe that companies should dictate how i show my love for my fiance. Before 1930s, nobody gave their fiances rings. They advertised to us and made us believe that was the only way to show our love. I personally think she woulf prefer 2000 on a honeymoon than 200o on a ring.

So a couple of friends got engaged last month, I already gave them a present. But I'm thinking of slipping some money inside their Christmas card to go towards their wedding fund. How much is ideal? I was thinking £100- is this too much/too little?

I got married in August of 2016 at a courthouse with my boyfriend, we didn t tell any of my family members, only a few close friends (I do not get along with my family at all).
