Question: Alternatives to a traditional wedding reception? Posted: 27 Jul 2018 01:35 PM PDT Marriage has been coming up a lot in conversation recently between my boyfriend and I. I am not engaged yet but my boyfriend and I have been together for five years now and he told me he would like us to get married soon but concerned that he can't afford to give me the wedding reception I deserve. We are recent college graduates who are both underemployed but I don't want that to stop us from getting married soon. I have high anxiety and I don't want a huge traditional wedding reception. We both come from big families and we do want everyone who has supported us throughout our relationship to take part of this day so we still want a reception but don't want something that will cost us too much. Any ideas? |
Question: How can i come up with a good speech for my sisters wedding? Posted: 27 Jul 2018 09:22 AM PDT My sisters wedding is in a month and during the stag the best man who happens to be our cousin told me he'll be calling on me for a speech. I told him not to as I'll probably faint but he insists he's going to so I suppose I better prepare one just in case. I go around with my head up my ars I've just come to realise and I can't think of any story to tell or anything about her or my future brother in law all I know is that I knew for a long time they were going to get married and I'm really happy that he's marrying her because they get on so well and he treats her well. I've looked up wedding speeches and they all have some story, I honestly for the life of me can't think of one. I remember things from my childhood like she was always trying to be perfect, she'd practice her speech and lines for a play when we did drama, I remember she'd label all her books and stuff, I remember I used to look forward to telling her stories from school and I remember being sad when she left home. I think the age gap (8 years) was maybe a little too big for us to be hanging out, I thought about it and I'm like that with everyone, I don't even have a good story for my best friend if he were to get married anytime soon. I don't know what to do. |

Posted: 11 Jul 2018 05:30 PM PDT I'm getting married this weekend and I'm totally freaking out. I'm not the kind of person who usually likes being the center of attention, but I'm trying to be more outgoing. Still nervous like crazy though :( Is there anyone else here who is also not outgoing, but managed to make it through a big wedding and who could offer some advice? |

Question: How much money should i give as a wedding present? Posted: 10 Jul 2018 06:28 AM PDT My wife is bridesmaid and they are close friends getting married. They are having an expensive wedding costing around £110 per guest for food. The Bride has also spent about £300 on my wife s bridesmaid dress and about £100 on my daughters flower girls dress. I was thinking £500 as a wedding gift but friends and work colleague seem to think this is ridiculous. Can someone guide me on this! thanks |
Posted: 08 Jul 2018 09:31 PM PDT He likes a little of everything but he keeps going more torwards older styles/songs any where from the 50s-80s. He likes a lot of things by Frank Sinatra or similar to him too. I'm not against that music but it doesn't seem like wedding music to me. I want something a little more updated but not necessarily new. I like a little of everything too but I'm going more torwards country type music or some of the newer pop type music for the wedding. I'm opening to listening to different songs and suggestions from any genre and any era. We need songs for the entire wedding from the entrance to our guests to the end of the night. So please if you have any suggestions for any specific dance like our first dance or father/bride dance, or for the recessional or anything. I need any and all serious suggestions please. |
