Question: How to get on my parents in law's good side? Posted: 31 Jul 2018 12:02 PM PDT I just got married and things between me and my wife are going from bad to worse due to her parents constant presence and interference. I only met them briefly a few times when we were engaged; i asked to see more of them so as to get a better idea but she always made excuses etc. I told her since im clueless about her parents, after we marry i dont want them in my face or interfering with us. I got in an argument with her father over the phone and things escalated rather quickly and he called me a "bastard" cause im an orphan; so i told him to F off and called him an A hole. I told my wife that i dont want to see or talk to them anymore for a very long time even if the apologize and they must mean it. They never did. My wife is unhappy cause she wants to see her parents; and she means the world to me ( yet i never told her that ). So i guess i must act like the mature guy here and somehow get on their good side for the benefit of my wife's wellbeing and general domestic harmony. Suggestions ? Steve: i dont know if my biological parents were married or not. For someone like me to be off the streets, with a job, money in the bank and a fully paid / furnished home is one heck of an accomplishment. Step two was getting married to this fantastic girl and step three is to be a family with kids. Thanks for the advice Steve; if i had parents, i wouldnt be here asking, would i ? |
Question: I ran over a frog with my car? Posted: 31 Jul 2018 11:56 AM PDT It looks like a deflated balloon, literally.. It looks as though it could still be alive thiough dead just like a deflated balloon |
Question: Why won't this person tell me what I did? Posted: 31 Jul 2018 11:50 AM PDT I have this online friend, and hurt them (accidentally of course) and I really wanna know what I said wrong to prevent it in the future. When I ask what I did, all she says is "forget it". She'll message me first every now and then, and when I say hi back, she'll say "I'm just gonna go?". But at the same time she'll also ignore my texts. I don't get it |
Question: Why does he stare at me? Posted: 31 Jul 2018 11:46 AM PDT Sometimes my friend brings up the topic about how he's been watching me. Every time I'd ask him why, he'd always say "just because". |
Question: How to handle a neighbor who emails me to find out info because they? Posted: 31 Jul 2018 09:15 AM PDT have been gossiping about me with another neighbor. They want to find out where I got things and what my plans are. I know it's so by because the words I've said to the other neighbor are coming back. This one neighbor always asks and is fishing for info because she thinks that I don't know that she is the gossip line to the other neighbor. I've been trying to just play along acting as if I don't care. But I do. Now I don't want any real contact. But this one neighbor keeps emailing me and asking questions. I know it all sounds petty but it's annoying and I can't escape. I live around these people. |
Question: Does my therapist like me? Posted: 31 Jul 2018 07:27 AM PDT I'm 21 and have seen a therapist for 2 years. She once said I would make a great significant other. One time I asked what I should do with my life, so she asked if I wanted to "share my life with someone" I said yes and she asked what gender(I'm bi) I said it didn't matter and therapy continued normally. I read if a woman's feet point towards you it is a sign of attraction and I see this a lot. Only thing is she might me married, I'm still not sure. I am typically antisocial so I know little about this stuff. |

Question: Do you really have to be perfect for people to know you care? Posted: 31 Jul 2018 06:10 AM PDT I feel like unless I'm up their butt on Facebook liking all their things, or super social with them each and every time I see them then I am a bad person. I feel like the personal relationship wavers. Is everyone too sensitive or am I just getting lazy? I always say hello, I'm just not the most talkative. Never have been. I feel like some time back when I used to try to be super social then things went a lot better. |
Question: Why has he turned this into a game? Posted: 31 Jul 2018 05:53 AM PDT My and I have several mutual friends. We all hung out last week and of course my ex and I got into a petty disagreement. He even text me after the party to tell me how wrong I was. I called him and left him a voicemail told him that I haven't hung out with that group of friends because I'm uncomfortable around him but wanted to have a conversation to see if we could smooth out the tension between us so that we don't butt heads every time we see each other. Of course he responded through a very vague text. I text him back that I called to have a conversation because text get easily misinterpreted. I woke up this morning to see that I had a missed call from him at 2:45 a.m. and I a text at 2:50 a.m. that said, "I tried to call". Why would he call me at such a ridiculous time thinking that I would actually be open to talking him at that hour? I was sincerely trying to find common ground with him. Why is he turning this into a game? |
Question: Is he being creepy or genuine? Posted: 31 Jul 2018 12:11 AM PDT I was on the phone with a recruiter (in his 30s) about job and he said several times '...you sound like a nice girl' '....you sound like my wife' WTF??!! Is he being creepy or trying to be friendly/build rapport? what does he mean by you sound like my wife.... is he saying he's married? |

Question: Lesbians, why don’t you like me? Posted: 30 Jul 2018 12:30 PM PDT I'm fairly attractive, I'm in decent shape, I don't smoke or even drink, I have a job and I'm educated. I can't figure it out. Just an idea of this- I have literally had ONE match on Tinder in about 4 months. And I swipe yes for about 80 percent of women. (That's a lot, I know, but hey, so many of them are so beautiful.) 😩 I attempt to meet a lot of people online, because I live in SLC, not really a gay haven. Sometimes I meet cool women and talk to them on Instagram or something, but I can always "feel" they aren't interested. The conversations are often one-sided, and I'm the one keeping them going. I usually tell a woman that I think she's beautiful, or I compliment her or a photo of hers, but she quickly says thanks, and moves on. I could only find one message where a woman said I was pretty and complimented me. But yet, still didn't seem to want to keep talking to me? It's worse in real life, haha. 😬 The pile of rejection is huge here, and I know that's just part of life, but I'm still increasingly sad about this. Men show interest in me, so I'm concerned it's just women who don't find me attractive. (And I'm only interested in women.) Do I not seem gay enough? I couldn't get the photo upload to work, but my Instagram handle is sebrockwell. |
Question: Should I move to a neighborhood I am scared of? Posted: 29 Jul 2018 08:16 AM PDT So I (F21) am starting University this fall. In just 3 weeks I have to move from the country to a big city. I have had horrible luck with finding a place to live. I suddenly found a beautiful apartment, a bit more pricy but worth it. Then I suddenly realized where it was located. It is located in one of the more sketchy neighborhoods. I also had a boyfriend 3 years ago, who was abusive and scary and on the map I saw that the apartment wasn t far from his grandmothers place (which he lived 3 years ago). I suffer from PTSD and Panic disorder and so I am not sure what to do... should I move? |
