Basically, many friends wanted me to be "fun" all the time, to the point that I'm basically just a toy. And if I stop being fun? Lord, I am crucified for being "boring", while other friends are boring 24/7 and get away w/ it. I realized: it's because they expect "more" from me. I'm done. I'm older now, and I find power in being "boring". I.e. just dong things for ME, and not caring if I come off as fun or cool anymore. Thoughts? Experiences? |

We invited our couple friend to both, my family event is where we were all living and they didn't even rsvp or show up but instead flew 2,000 miles to my husband's family event. That makes no sense to me but moving on. My Mom threw me a baby shower a few weeks ago and I invited our friends to come and figured the guys could keep eachother occupied. Well, my friend showed up to the baby shower with my husband's Mom and left in less than an hour so they could go back to my husband's parents house a relax. What the hell? I invited her to celebrate the baby and to see me instead she prioritized his mother over me. I feel so hurt by this, when I asked her anout it she had no excuse for the wedding party and the baby shower well, she didn't want to be rude and not spend time with his Mom. Am I being too sensitive or is this person just a bad friend? When she invites me to her parties and family events we attend both his and her families events as much as possible and actually stay to enjoy. I just can't seem to get this out of my head and it is starting to make me resent her and cancel our plans for the to come stay with us in September. |

My friends little sister said I called her a slut behind her back, when I was actually defending her tothe person who was calling her a slut. So I guess someone told her sister the wrong story because I don't call anyone that! But today my friend told me that her mom says I have no future, even tho I get better grades than my friend. She also says I get everything handed to me. Which is kinda true, but I don't mean it to be that way. I'm an only child and both my parents have good jobs. My friend has four siblings so she doesn't get as much but that's expected when you have a bigger family because the money has to be split among 5 kids. I'm not a braggart or anything, I'm very thankful to have everything I have. Another price of info. My friend isn't someone a ton of people like. She's sent nudes so people think she's a ****, Some people call her annoying and loud, and she can sometimes over exaggerate things. Not many people invite her places and our lunch table is kinda mean to her But I really like her because she's fun. I always plan the hangouts and am always the one to make the suggestion and when we do hangout it is very brief and he always seems to be in a rush to get home. Will make time for other friends but tell me he never plans anything and everything he does is spontaneous and when I am spontaneous he tells me he is busy. I hope I am not overreacting, I know the world doesn't revolve around me but I can't help feel a bit pushed aside. Posted: 31 Jul 2018 10:32 AM PDT I couple months ago I saw that a concert was coming to my town that I was interested in and I bought a ticket. It's an EDM act so it may be more accurate to say rave than a concert. I don't have a lot of friends into that genre of music so I figured I'd just go by myself. Was talking to a buddy a few weeks later and it came up he was into EDM. I mentioned the concert but he had never heard of the act before, but said he'd check it out and bought a ticket for $35. The concert is in a couple weeks. I live in Dallas. I have another friend that just told me he is going to Austin (the state capital a few hours away with tons of stuff to do) that same weekend and if I go with him I won't have to pay for the hotel at all, he'll cover it. So I would just have to pay for my food or whatever... Free mini vacation. I'm trying to decide if I should skip town that weekend or see the concert. If I left town I'd reimburse the other guy for the ticket price since the only reason he was going was because of me. He didn't seem too into it. If I did that and went out of town would that be ok or would that be a faux paw? |

I then went on to say that his mom had no voice in their household. He attacked back saying "at least she didn't come to church dressed in club attire, arms and legs showing" I then responded which I shouldn't have "your mom looked like she came from the stable, you never buy her new clothes." Fast forward two months I saw him staring at me in church so I texted him but he said he would never forgive me and wouldn't allow himself to have feelings for me again because of what i said about his mom. I didn't respond. Every Sunday in church he'd keep staring at me but I gave him cold looks and avoided his looks. He started smiling and talked to me as I went down the stairs saying hi how are you. I saw him peek through a door crack as he walked past to see if i was still looking at him. The other Sunday, he walked past me and smiled and I smiled back and he winked at me. Recently I've been warm to him looking at him and smiling. I texted him the other day and this how the conversation went. I asked about his brother then he asked me about school and when I get acceptance letters. Is he interested? Why isn't he making a move? |

When I mentioned to my friends how mad I was at them. One of them didn't think she did anything wrong. She made things up like the way he treats me is uncalled for I can tell for one he was with a group of girls.....he was NOT with a group of girls he was with one of his best guy friend's family. There was maybe 2 or three girls and the rest were guys. My friend said he didn't look toward us until my friends looked over. Which is false cause I saw him looking at me a few times and so did his friends. I asked my friend next time just say she doesn't like a person then move on to a different topic. I then went on to say that his mom had no voice in their household. He attacked back saying "at least she didn't come to church dressed in club attire, arms and legs showing" I then responded which I shouldn't have "your mom looked like she came from the stable, you never buy her new clothes." Fast forward two months I saw him staring at me in church so I texted him but he said he would never forgive me and wouldn't allow himself to have feelings for me again because of what i said about his mom. I didn't respond. Every Sunday in church he'd keep staring at me but I gave him cold looks and avoided his looks. He started smiling and talked to me as I went down the stairs saying hi how are you. I saw him peek through a door crack as he walked past to see if i was still looking at him. The other Sunday, he walked past me and smiled and I smiled back and he winked at me. Recently I've been warm to him looking at him and smiling. I texted him the other day and this how the conversation went. I asked about his brother then he asked me about school and when I get acceptance letters. Is he interested? Why isn't he making a move though? |

Posted: 30 Jul 2018 10:14 PM PDT So a couple days ago my friend stayed the night at my house and I remember putting my earbuds on the ground cause obviously there wasn't enough room on the bed. The day she left i realized they were missing and I assumed I lost them. My parents and I have LITERALLY searched everywhere and they are no where to be found. I've asked her 3 times and she said she would check her dads car and she wouldn't respond to me of any updates. I don't want to accuse her of stealing but idk how to pressure her into getting them back. I'm not sure why she would want to take them bc her family has more money than us by far and she even told the night I was using them that she doesn't like apple earbuds bc they are uncomfortable so she has beats. My parents kind of hinted at me that maybe she took them but idk what to do, she's been active on Instagram and clearly has been ignoring my texts. What should I do? |

We all get along, have similar interests and whatnot. My life is just pure joy whenever we all get to talk to each other. Not to mention we all use the popular gaming chat app known as Discord. Back in December of 2017, we all found out about a popular game called "VRChat". At the time, playing the game was incredibly weird. Since there were a bunch of people we didn't know that we were playing with. And, since voice chat is basically the main feature of the game. We were all just talking together in Discord like we usually do. Then comes June of this year. One of my friends who'd met another person that uses VR (Dell Mixed Reality in specific) had become friends. Along with making another friend after that. Now comes the fun part: These three friends of mine are now all in a separate Discord server with these other people that they've met. Excluding me out when I've talked to both of them. We no longer group call, and every time I try to group call them. Nobody answers. Nobody bothers to message me an invite link at all. I basically just get told to "**** off." I don't know what to do at this point. If I should just stop caring, or just leave our group DM entirely. Because something like this has never made me more depressed in my entire life. And, I ******* hate it. |

Well she's a couple years older and I look older. Well she gets red while talking to me and smiles but doesn't look me in the eye and hides her face. Blushes when I say hi. Giggles and says my name when I look at her. Teasing, smiling, laughing loudly at stuff I say. All the stuff young girls do when flirting like in middle school or elementary school but she's 17. Well she tries to find any way to talk to me and can only really approach me with a close friend and can't even make eye contact or say hi first in the halls. |

I'm definitely stronger now than I was two years ago when things ended so I feel like I can handle her now. And I know that her toxic behavior stems from her own insecurities, and knowing that reassures me that whenever she insults me it's about her and not me. It wasn't all bad, we were very close & had years of great memories together. She was my person. I never really told her why I ended the friendship. We got in a stupid fight & I saw it as an opportunity to get out. Because of this, she thinks I'm the reason for ending things - which I am, but it was because of the way she made me feel that I ended it. Lately I've been missing her a lot. She may not have changed & she may still put me down, but I feel like I'm strong enough to handle it now & I can't stop thinking that I need to take this chance and fix things. . I'm just not sure how to go about it. Should I message her and ask if she wants to go for a drink? It's her birthday so I could use that as an excuse. Should I just get it over with in a text and say I miss you I'd like to patch things up? The stupid, immature part of me is saying don't do it, don't make it look like you're crawling back begging for her friendship.
