Question: Is my ex considered a dead beat dad? Posted: 15 Jul 2018 01:19 PM PDT He didn't exactly deny involvement with the baby, he wanted to be on drugs while doing it because he thought he could lead a double life and I wouldn't allow it. Now he's incarcerated. |

Question: Should my Mom be getting nosy and picky in who my brother dates? Posted: 15 Jul 2018 01:06 PM PDT My brother is 22 and the girl he's with now is 32. My Mom doesn't like it and she told my brother to break it off with her, after that she asked me and was getting on me of what I saw of my brother and that girl, I told them I saw them together but don't know what they said. To tell you the truth I think what goes on between them is their business and I don't care. |
Question: Should I return the money to keep peace in the family? What would you do? Posted: 15 Jul 2018 12:49 PM PDT I was at a meeting of a women's club and one of the members told me she planned to extensively remodel her kitchen and ask me if I knew any contractors. I told her my ex husband was a contractor and she might call him to discuss her remodel project. She called him and liked him and hired him to do the remodel. She told me he did a great job and she was very happy with the results. Shortly after I got a $500 check from my ex husband. A note enclosed with the check said "I give anyone a gift that sends me a customer and I don't see why I should treat you any different". "Spend this on something you will enjoy". Then I had an unexpected problem. My current husband does not want me to take the money. He does not want me to have anything to do with my ex husband. I tried to explain that this is a business transaction and it has nothing to do with him. He is not buying it. Should I return the money to keep peace in the family or keep it? What would you do? |

Question: How important is a woman’s beauty in life? Posted: 15 Jul 2018 12:14 PM PDT In movies and media, if u are beautiful u will have amazing life. I use to think beautiful women get the guy or something but life is different. Some men are selfish, and they care only about themselves. And we see beautiful celebrities get cheated on. But well isn't more if the husband love god or wife or is a good man he won't cheat? Do beautiful women get more attention in life? |
Question: How do I get my partners daughter to like me? Posted: 15 Jul 2018 11:50 AM PDT He has a 21 year old daughter and she is always very hostile towards me whenever I'm in the house visiting and if I ever sleep over she goes out and sleeps at her boyfriends or grandmothers house. Her mother passed away last year and it obviously hit her very hard, her dad was getting with me a few months before her mam passed away and I think that's one of the reasons why she's so hostile and 'angry' about me. But her mother was dying what else did she expect her dad to do? I don't want to replace her mother at all but how do I make her not so cold around me? I just want to be a friend and not be made to feel so uncomfortable when I go to the house |
Question: Should I save my father's life? Posted: 15 Jul 2018 11:11 AM PDT My father and I used to have a good relationship and then when I was in high school he cut me off finanically because I was a spoiled mean girl and he's never let me live it down. Now he needs a transplant and I'm the only match and I don't know if I should help him or not. He and my mom have not helped me at all over the years and I'm not being spiteful over being cut off. I just don't like that I've needed help over the years and he's refused help me. So part of me thinks why should I help him? I mean is this going to change anything? Why should I help him when he's done nothing for me? What's the point of even doing this and putting myself at risk. There are risks for me in going through with this another major reason I'm debating helping him. I mean I don't mean to sound selfish but he's done nothing for me at all in recent years and now expects me to help him and there's a small risk (but still a risk) that this could effect me negatively. I mean I love him and I don't want to sound terrible but it seems like I'm taking a gamble for someone who has done nothing for me at all. Here's the risks I've been told if there's infection I could become infertile, and in extreme cases I could die. So I'm being asked to do something that could impact my life and I don't know if I should do it. |
Question: How can I convince my dad to let me drive alone? Posted: 15 Jul 2018 10:31 AM PDT I have my license and my own car, but my dad won't let me drive alone. I'm not expecting to be able to go everywhere whenever I want, I'd expect no highways and night driving for some time, as well as having to tell them where I'm going and when. My parents are divorced, so the decision is ultimately up to my dad, but I have 68 hours of driving, 55 of which are with my mom. She is okay with me driving alone as she knows I can do it, and so do both of my older brothers, aged 25 and 22, as well as a driving instructor I had, who thought I didn't even need him to begin with. I am unsure why my dad is being so strict about this, and even when I have driven with him he never has to say anything and afterwards he always says good job, but won't let me drive alone. I've tried everything I can think of but can't find any solution, please help. |
Posted: 15 Jul 2018 10:25 AM PDT They've never been involved parents in the first place. She was never protected from previous issues. Her school considers her as an at-risk youth (but her parents still never questioned it). I have reason to believe that a dangerous person is talking to her through an iPad all day. They plan to meet up eventually. School is closed for the summer and her parents are too busy doing their "own business" to pay attention. |

Question: Please help with a really complicated family issue.? Posted: 15 Jul 2018 09:41 AM PDT Hello, I come from a pretty large family and I am the youngest out of all of my cousins (we're in our 20s amd 30s now) most of my cousins are prospectless losers (Im not being mean just trying to provide accurate information) for example my cousin Johm is the oldest at 40 and he just moved out from his moms house into a house with our cousin Beth who also just moved from home. Now each of them is dating someone with a small child. These new people have only been in our lives for a few months and my aunts act as though the kids are the grandchildren. It bugs me to no end because these people havent been around long. I dont like kids very much to begin with but my issue is when these people come to family parties it shift the focus away from the party to entertaining the kids. I have a Halloween party every year as it is my favorite party and I would like to have the halloween part this year but im afraid the focus will be on the kids and not on my important holiday. Please advise me for this and future parties this issue completely takes the fun out of parties for me. |
Question: Should I let my mother cut her holiday short for me (am I being selfish)? Posted: 15 Jul 2018 09:34 AM PDT My mother is going on holiday for 2 weeks in a couple of days to visit her boyfriend and she is currently trying to figure out a way to make it shorter because of me and I feel terrible. I'm 17 and have been having some mental issues for a good while. I've recently had a bit of an "episode" and now I'm just in a state of complete depression. When she goes I'll have to stay with my father who I hate. I have to live with him 2-3 days a week which I can just barely handle but he is emotionally abusive and refuses to give me lifts anywhere so I can't leave the house. I also don't have any friends so I will be completely alone, doing nothing for 2 weeks (other than tip-toeing around my father to avoid his anger) while she's gone. I had a bit of a break down last night and suddenly expressed all of this to her. I know that she has been looking forward to this holiday and she will still be going but she is trying to come back earlier and I feel so incredibly guilty about this but on the other hand I'm also so depressed and don't know if I could handle being with my father for so long in my current state. I want her to cut it short because I want to spend as little time with my father because he will make how I'm feeling 100 times worse but I cant help being anxious that she'll secretly resent me for this despite her saying that it's okay. What should I do? Do I let her cut the holiday short? Or is that selfish and do I just have to throw myself under the bus for her sake? |
Question: My brother never comes around anymore. Is it okay to feel he is a stranger and not family? Posted: 15 Jul 2018 08:10 AM PDT I saw him two years ago last. He had drug problems and he is doing better now but avoids family and lives on the East Coast (we live near Seattle). He won't even come see our grandmother in her last years. My parents see him twice a year when they go east but that is all. I last spoke to him Father's Day weekend of last year though I emailed him on his birthday in November and he sent us an email around Christmas. |

Question: How do I deal with my 11 yr old son’s friend’s judgemental mother? Posted: 15 Jul 2018 07:50 AM PDT The first time she saw my son's father, he was yelling at a football game and immediately she says to me, " I see why you left him." And now she's ignoring me cause I told my son that her son doesn't listen when they are playing on Xbox. |
Question: Why does my mom want to control my life? Posted: 15 Jul 2018 07:30 AM PDT so I am 21 and finished my Nursing school I went on a student loan to pay it. I told my mom I am going to move out because I have no freedom she keeps asking me to do stuff for her, come home at a certain time, and she says if I don't do that then I have to pay her rent so I said if you're going to do that I am going to move out then days later she tells me not to move out and that I should save up my money, This is kind of getting frustrating for me because it happens every other week. she had her 50th birthday and I didn't even bother showing up because of the way she is treating me. IDC if its your birthday you don't treat people like that. My aunt recently called me and said I should talk to my mom and not move out. Honestly I am 21 whats the use? I can move in with my friend and split the rent cost. I plan on moving out when she is at work so she does not know. My sister is trying to get us to reconcile. My aunt also told me that my mom talks to her about me all the time and that she is proud. Honestly I don't care I am not worried about being proud I need to get away from that miserable life at home. |
Question: How can I make my son feel better ? Posted: 15 Jul 2018 05:02 AM PDT My ex girlfriend and her fiancé were watching I Can Only Imagine she made our son watch it now he's really upset as young as he is he shouldn't have seen it he's only 4 he was crying through the whole movie now he wants to live with his mom because he's scared of him leaving her or even worse loosing her also he's afraid of me I never done anything to him. I wouldn't let a 4 year old watch that it could hurt them though he doesn't know it really happened his mom told him it was just a movie. He said his stomach hurts when she cries he's a big crier seriously he's like George from Peppa Pig he cries at everything or nothing. My wife let her daughter watch it she's 5 she didn't get upset over it she actually liked it we took her to the movies to see it. I understand that it could upset some people but a 4 year old really. Also he knows I would never hurt him or his mom either even though we're not together anymore were still best friends. How can I help him feel better ? |
Question: What is abusive behaviour is it easy to overreact about things? Posted: 15 Jul 2018 04:33 AM PDT If a family member mocks how you feel about something. She was lauging and also became annoyed with me. She asked me to give her something that I felt strongly about. She then gave it to someone else and It meant a lot to me. And when I told her that was how I felt. She then behaved this way toward me. I felt bad as if I had said something wrong. I was not rude it was just a reaction of loss I felt about it and I told her how I felt. She then said I wished I never asked you now and what was the problem that she would get me another one. And I am left with a bit of anguish. I don´t know if I am just reacting in a silly way because I was in an abusive friendship a while ago. She has acted this way to me before and I am just waking up to the fact that she could be a little abusive towards me. She is not a bad person. She just gets this way with me sometimes and then when I try to explain she turns it on me and it becomes an argument that I never wanted. |
Posted: 15 Jul 2018 04:17 AM PDT I was molested by my older cousin when I was 4. Then I was molested by my grandma's husband from 5-7 and then by my uncle when I was 11. I blocked out my grandmothers husband and cousin but when it happened again when I was 11 I was so shocked and the memories came back. I am now 18 and have finally told my parents. My mom said I let them and that I could've fought back. My dad said it is now too late and he is trying to convince me that my uncle (his brother) did nothing. My grandma doesn't believe and I really thought this would make me feel better and I would receive at least a little justice but it's all gotten worse. I'm so mad and hurt. My mother was molested when she was younger so I'm trying to not be upset with her because that's how she had to handle it. But I feel like they could at least care a little bit more. I feel like I'm going through the abuse all over again and there are no consequences for the men who abused me. I feel so weak and useless. |
Question: My father died and did not leave a will? Posted: 15 Jul 2018 02:28 AM PDT I'm the youngest 19 my father was suffering in his last days but his other kids did not care matter a fact his oldest daughter who he gave control of his money was planning the sell his house while he father was in the bed dying. His side of the family does not like me and its hard because everyone said he did not make will. So how are his items going to be divided? who should i get in contact about this with? I also don't know any lawyers so that makes it worst? I know that taxes and other expense have to be paid. What I want to know is how is the state going to take care of the division on money because my older sister is trying to make sure the other kids get nothing. I know that taxes and other expense have to be paid. What I want to know is how is the state to divide the money, because my older sister is trying to make sure the other kids get nothing. |
Question: What should I do I really need a way out!? Posted: 15 Jul 2018 02:00 AM PDT I'm 20 years old and my mom won't let me get a job, won't let me get my ID or driver's license, or won't let me open a banking account. She gets very angry if I tried to make money online and she bans me by taking my devices/computer away. I've rarely go out anywhere. I never had friends my whole life. I was a homeschooled child. I'm sitting here miserable and I wanna leave. I want my own life. I was never a problem child. I don't know why she won't let me do anything! She told me if I want to leave I will have to be homeless and start from the bottom and I can't take anything. I'm not even allowed to be where I want in the house, she makes me stay in wherever room she's in. I'm broke, I don't have transportation, no close family to go to or friends, I'm alone and I'm just going crazy being here with her! |
Question: My Parents grounded me for telling the truth.? Posted: 15 Jul 2018 01:33 AM PDT I had major end of year exams, so my parents said they were taking my computer away and grounding me until the exams were over (two weeks in advance). This was annoying as I needed to keep up with CSGO trades and matches, but I understood it, as I needed to study. After I finished my exams, I asked my parents for my computer back, but they then said ''So do you want to fail in life.'' I got confused by this, since it was the Summer Holidays, and me not having fun just made it harder for me to study. I told them about their promise, and how I had created a revision timetable to do revision, but they instead replied ''STOP showing an attitude you f*cking idiot! You're going to fail in life.'' They then said that I was grounded until Christmas, where they ''would see'' whether I would be grounded for the first half of 2019 too. Of course, with my parents, when they say ''You will get your computer back next week'' they mean ''Next month, when I'll then extend the grounding again.'' So when they say ''We'll see,'' it's pretty obvious they mean ''No.'' Any help? They say I'm an addict because I get angry, but that's only a response to their anger, not me getting grounded. I asked them if they would rather see my studying for six hours a day, playing for 4 hours, and playing outside for 4 hours, or just sitting in my room reading books and doing no revision for 18 hours. They chose the latter, so I feel they don't care about my studies, but rather just want me to not have fun. Ik some people may say that I'm not telling the full story, but I really am. One day, after finishing my exams, my parents took everything apart from my phone (hid it). My dad says he threw it all away, but my mum says it's hidden. |
Question: What should I do if I stole money from my parents? Posted: 15 Jul 2018 01:14 AM PDT The thing is that I have been stealing hundreds of dollars from my parents for months, and I have decided to stop doing that once and for all. But I'm afraid to apologize to them, because obviously it would involve telling them the truth, and I'm not brave enough to tell them, I'm so afraid. I'm 21 years old, I live with them and I used the money to buy stupid stuff from ebay/amazon. I feel so bad and I don't know what to do. I asked God for forgiveness and I promised I'm gonna be a better person but I don't know. |

But now they are in me a theif. They filed a police report and saying they'll have me prosecuted. Am I a bad person. I feel horrible. |
Question: How do I tell my parents I’m traveling? Posted: 14 Jul 2018 09:21 PM PDT I messed up really bad. I've been planning a trip to go to California (one state over from me) to get away and meet up with a friend who my parents don't particularly like. My flight is tomorrow night and my parents still don't know. I've been too scared to tell them. I paid for the whole trip myself and I'm 18. Wtf do I do. Please give me advice |
Question: My friend keeps getting mad at me! What should I do to get her to stop? Posted: 14 Jul 2018 08:41 PM PDT This past week I took her to the beach and she brought her phone, she has this app that lets her read books on it. I asked her a question about it and she responded "Shut up" I calmly told her not to tell me to shut up and we went on with our lives, she told me to Shut up multiple times afterwards and I was getting tired of it. I decided to read the book with her and discovered some inappropriate sexual stuff and language. Keep in mind we are only in 6th grade! I asked her about it and she said "I don't need you approval! I doesn't matter to me and more because my dad says so many curse words it does not faze me!" I responded "Just because someone says them a lot does not mean its not inappropriate! Also, I didn't say I needed to approve of everything you do!" I told her that if she told me to shut up again I'd stop talking to her, and that she needed to apologize. Now here's the big one, her dogs have gotten in 5 fights that involved lots of blood. She has a pit bull and another dog. We've been talking about collage and I told her it costs a lot more to take a dog and she should just leave him at home for a bit. (We are staying together) . She responded "I don't need your approval and I WILL b e taking my dog, i'll find another room mate if I have to and I will find the money!" What should I do to get her to stop yelling at me? |
Question: How do I end this fight with my very bipolar mom? Posted: 14 Jul 2018 06:48 PM PDT I am 17 years old and have a bipolar mom. Her episodes have reached their peak by the time I turned 10. I could go into detail but at the moment, she has taken away my phone and car and I am using my laptop which if she saw me on, she'd take it away. My mom like anyone suffering from bipolar disorder gets mad very easily over the smallest things and her bad moods last days and she gets violent. I had to leave my house yesterday in my car and my mom was about to get into her car and chase me down to which my dad had to grab her and stop her. When I came back home she took everything away and yelled at me not only yesterday but today. She spews the same old most hateful things and blames me for being the reason her and my dad are going to get a divorce. She always says this but they never get a divorce. Right now I feel alone and scared and just want to end this fighting with her but I don't know how to because I know she doesn't want to talk to me or much less see my face. Advice is all I need right now. |
Posted: 14 Jul 2018 06:39 PM PDT The aunt has hurt every member of the family with her narcissistic and hateful words. She even bullied me 15 years ago so as an adult I avoid her. However, her adult daughter is not that bad. If I see her how do I act so that I can be nice and pleasant without giving her info that the aunt can use to harm the good parts of the family. We are a good family other then this one aunt who is a toxic on the family. Her daughter is co-dependent on her so slaves to her, the sons broke free from her long ago. She even suggested my mother was hitting on her then-husband who was the most ignorant person in history (part of what messed up my aunt probably). Rest of my Mom's family is fine. |
Question: My brother in-law is a lazy P.o.s what do I do? Posted: 14 Jul 2018 06:37 PM PDT Ok so me and my fiance are saving up to get our own place within the next month's so we live with her parents for the time being. The problem is my brother in-law is 21 years old and acts like a 12 year old. He doesn't pay for any of his speeding tickets, meals, car insurance, or his share of the electric bill or his cell phone for ***** sake. His mother, my mother in-law treats him like a child and blows up if any of us say crap about him. He doesn't help around the house and doesn't even feed his cat! The poor thing would starve because he plays Xbox 10+ hours a day and calls out of work every other day. He's going to end up getting fired and I think my father in-law is going to flip ****! He'll leave all the sinks on and tubs after using them and trashes them. he expects everyone to kiss his *** but I'm not doing it! I honestly don't care if he gets kicked out but how can I deal with his stupid *** so I don't kill him? Thanks in advance |
Question: I was sexually abused as a kid. Why do I still feel so much guilt and shame for it at 35? Posted: 14 Jul 2018 06:34 PM PDT When I was a kid my parents moved in my mother's half-brother after he got out of rehab. The one rule was stay free from alcohol. He began molesting me when I was 8 and raped me at age 9. He told me if I told anyone he would have to kill himself and that it was normal for uncles to do this. I believed him. At age 10 I told a friend and he told his parents. They called my parents who immediately confronted the uncle. He denied it and I was known for exaggerating things at that age. They spoke to me and I denied it. That night I got scared the uncle might kill me or himself. So I went in and told my Dad an whispered it so he wouldn't here. My Dad threw him out the next day when I went somewhere with my grandparents (Mom had left town). He also went to the police. The uncle went missing and turned up dead a month later. It was from excessive drinking or possible suicide. Long story short I convinced myself that I betrayed my grandparents. My mother blamed them for not being harder on him and I convinced myself I gave my grandfather cancer as he got sick and died two years later and I heard he was guilt ridden after his son was exposed. My grandmother, a former alcoholic herself, relapsed for a time before getting help again. Long story short I have spent the last 25 years trying to make up to my Mom's family for all the hurt I caused by exposing my pedophile uncle. I feel I betrayed the whole family and they must blame me (even though no one ever has). When my grandmother relapsed and I wasn't allowed to see her for two years cause of her drinking, I blamed myself and saw it as my punishment for exposing her son. Many people have assured me none of this is my fault but I can't seem to assure myself. How do I overcome it? I am in therapy and just looking for additional ideas. I feel like I am a horrible person for causing all this even though the uncle was the number 1 person at fault. Why all the guilt and shame when he was the one who did it? |
Question: Why does it seem like most adopted kids have more involved parents? Posted: 14 Jul 2018 06:27 PM PDT I can't say for all, but it's noticeable that most people who adopted their child are more involved with their kid's well-being and life. If you search it up online, statistics have even shown that adopted kids are more likely to attend better schools - and that these parents are more likely to actively "be a parent" instead of leaving them alone all day. There used to be stigma that adopted kids are unloved, unwanted, etc. but it seems to be the opposite. |
Question: Who’s being selfish - me or my mother? Posted: 14 Jul 2018 06:22 PM PDT It's currently 2:20am here, and my mother is keeping me awake because she is watching tv. I need complete quiet to go to sleep, even when I'm tired. Even if there's some noise, I won't be able to get to sleep. Around 12:30, she was watching Say Yes To The Dress as I came downstairs. I started watching it with her for an hour before I decided to go to bed. About 5 minutes after I went back up, she put the tv back on and I asked her to turn it off because I wouldn't be able to go to sleep if it was on. She was then like "I can do what I like, I own this house". I then texted her about 10-15 minutes later asking her to turn it off again, but then she said I was selfish. She then told me to stop messaging her, go to sleep and deal with it. Am I being selfish? |
Posted: 14 Jul 2018 06:20 PM PDT They always call me asshole, dumbass because I got a 79 on math (I studied hard), they used to call me skinny ***, frail or a wimp. I throw garbage, take care of my autistic little brother, and a lot more. But they never congratulate me. Instead, they look for flaws. Then they claim I don't care about them? Last time, my parents called home, but the phone didn't worked at home, instead of investigating on why I didn't answer, they called me an imbecile, moron, dumbass. My dad also called me a "ZERO" .Then I gave them the phone, they checked, they saw it was working. They didn't bother apologizing. I'm now 5'9" and 140lbs, workout for a good 9 months. I'm just looking forward the day I become an adult, finally surpassed my fathers height. So if he tries to hit me, I'll whoop his azz... So how to move out. |

Question: My dad asked me for rent yesterday. Should I take my money back? Posted: 14 Jul 2018 06:10 PM PDT my dad asked me for money yesterday. He went to the casino about awhile ago with my stepmom. I put it away for my dad in his glasses case so no one would find or get it. Is that the only reason he asked me for money was to use and take it to the casino? Should I get it back? I left it in his room. |
Posted: 14 Jul 2018 05:25 PM PDT Who can I get help from when the doctors poisoned me and kept me from Christmas last year. They were trying to remove me like they did my mother. I am frightened and I cannot talk to anyone in human form or I will be kidnapped again and locked in the hospital where I was given poison. My father is part of the poisoning plot so I have no one. I am anonymous on here so I can ask. Where do I get help where I won't be kidnapped? My mother is controlling my mind and I am trying to surgically remove her from my head and still have her spirit. She was murdered by her therapists in 2006 in a plot to remove her Bipolar. |

Question: My parents have left me for a friend this weekend. I feel so cheated on. How do I cope? Posted: 14 Jul 2018 05:11 PM PDT They have this friend who is a bad person and they picked her and her husband over me. They didn't welcome me with them when I suggested coming. It hurts. |
Posted: 14 Jul 2018 05:07 PM PDT The things the mother said she lied and said that I said them and its not true. My ex friend now cursed me out and said she's done with me and she wont talk to me. I just don't understand why her mother would lie on me. I've been friends with her daughter for five years her daughter was like a big sister to me and she was like a mother figure to me. I just don't understand. |

Question: How often/do your parents yell at you? Posted: 14 Jul 2018 02:16 PM PDT Usually when I apparently am "sulky" or ignoring my mom (I don't even say anything) then she gets mad at me and lashes out and asks me what she did wrong and I say sorry and she says sorry isn't enough and she screams so loud and I cry and then finally she accepts my apology(remember I don't yell back or say anything bad I freeze up) then like 15 minutes later she is totally fine... |
Posted: 14 Jul 2018 02:06 PM PDT it hasn't gotten better, and my brother last night came into my room and kicked my chair when I was in it and then he said that he is in charge of me if I was going to stay home which I would not want. And I am under 18 so it's not like I am able to move out, I keep asking my parents to get him to move out but they won't donanything and I am tired of his crap. And he is fully capable of moving out money wise, and I kinda feel as if they asked to move in right after they wanted to "make up" after five years, yeah so believable.... and when i tell my mom about how I don't want anything to do with him she always asks why when she clearly knows what's going on. And I honestly do not want him in my life. Because I know they are manipulating my parents emotionally as they didn't make up with them until they needed some place to go. Wouldn't surprise me. And I do not know what to do as my dad told him to stop wrestling me and once and my brother just got mad. Like I'm not the type to fight/wrestle, it's just not my thing. And he just keeps trying to intimidate me and it doesn't work on me, I'm at least old enough to know that is immature. And my parents say to not say anything, but I have had enough of this . If you know a way to get my brother out of my life, it would be much appreciated 🙄 |
