Question: Help! Why is he acting like this? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 06:00 PM PDT We broke up about a year ago because we were fighting and arguing and his tense family circumstances didn't help as his brother was diagnosed with kidney failure. During the fight he said i didn't know how to treat a man because my parents were divorced and i hadn't seen a loving relationship like his parents. I then went on to say that his mom had no voice in their household. He attacked back saying "at least she didn't come to church dressed in club attire, arms and legs showing" I then responded which I shouldn't have "your mom looked like she came from the stable, you never buy her new clothes." Fast forward two months I saw him staring at me in church so I texted him but he said he would never forgive me and wouldn't allow himself to have feelings for me again because of what i said about his mom. I didn't respond. Every Sunday in church he'd keep staring at me but I gave him cold looks and avoided his looks. He started smiling and talked to me as I went down the stairs saying hi how are you. I saw him peek through a door crack as he walked past to see if i was still looking at him. The other Sunday, he walked past me and smiled and I smiled back and he winked at me. Recently I've been warm to him looking at him and smiling. I texted him the other day and this how the conversation went. I asked about his brother then he asked me about school and when I get acceptance letters. This was last Sunday, this sunday I was going down the stairs he was a bit behind I"m wondering why he didn't catch up to me and talk to me. Could he be too scared? |
Question: Why do I get agitated more easily when I hang out with the same person for so long? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 05:50 PM PDT I know this might be normal, but I want to know why it happens. Over the summer I've been hanging out with one friend more than others and I just feel like the longer we spend time together the more easily I get agitated around my friend. I love her with all my heart and don't hate spending time with her, but it's like the smallest things just get on my nerves when we hang out a lot. I guess it's kind of like when married couples stay around each other for so long, but I don't understand why it happens. So why does it happen? |

Question: Is there some problem I have not thought about? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 04:56 PM PDT I am a college student with a VERY limited amount of money. I needed a place to stay that is as cheap as possible. A fellow student told me to check out a place that might let me trade off work for a place to stay. I was met by 2 fairly attractive women who looked to me to be in their early 40s. They showed me the room in their home and it was great. For free rent I had to do several things. I had to keep the yard mowed. This would be no problem for me. They told me they were both gay and asked if I had a problem with that. I told them no problem. I was not gay but it was fine with me it they were. They told me I would see them in various states of being undressed around the house. Some times they would have no clothes on. I told them that also was fine with me. I could not imagine how any straight male would object to seeing women with out any cloths on even if they were gay. The last condition for the room was that a few times a year they needed a male escort to the country club for dinner and parties. They said they would pay for everything. This seemed like a great deal for me so I plan to move in next week. Am I getting in over my head? Is there some problem I have not thought of? Any advice would be appreciated |

Question: Does my best friends brother like me ? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 01:45 PM PDT Hey guys. I'm 16 years old and my best friends brother acts super weird with me. He knew I liked him a few years back and was super friendly about it and didn't mention a thing. Even tho we don't go to the same school anymore, whenever I go sleep at my besties place he keeps close contact with me, sitting right beside me and smiling and laughing and being super friendly to me. He often comes and join us in whatever we are doing. But sometimes he ignores me and keeps a straight face around me. I must add that we are like the exact same person. We think so much alike and even if I'm painfully awkward we still get along well. Do you think he is just friendly or actually likes me ? |
Question: Friend that wont listen? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 01:39 PM PDT Hi i need help me and my friend just got our motorcycle liscense and he obviously didnt pay attention in class since they said do not drive under the influence of alcohol and my friend invite me and him over tonight to drink even though he wants to ride the bike over. I told him its not a good idea and my other friend is encouraging him since he drives a manual car thinking it will be no problem for him. I have stopped him in the past from driving the bike to partys even though its under my name, but he did help me to buy it by giving me $1000 which i only owe him $400 now. we just got the bike registered today and i agreed by let him drive it today and i drive it tomorrow i knew he was going to do something stupid to begin with once we get it legal since he wants to ride for show not fun what can i do to prevent this??? He already has the bike and i have no power over him i dont want to make him upset since he helped me with so much. |
Question: I’m the worst at friendships? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 01:08 PM PDT I've never been good at making or maintaining friendships. I'm very introverted but I would like to have one or two good friends. I'm 30 years old and had my first child 5 months ago. I've started looking into activities so I can meet other moms. I took my son to family swim at a local pool and the mother of a 9 month old approached me almost right away and we started talking. She asked if we would be there next week and definitly seemed interested in becoming friends. The problem is, she really lead the conversation. I can never think of anything to say and people end up thinking I'm boring. I seriously have no idea how to talk to people! I feel like such an idiot too because at 30, you'd think I would have figured this out by now! I want to be her friend haha The worst part is, I can't see myself changing. If I haven't figured it out by now, I'm not sure I ever will. Please someone have some magic advice for me! |

Question: My friends always make fun of my older sister (19) who has autism. What should I do? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 11:49 AM PDT Because of her autism she speaks low and monotone, often also unclear and difficult to understand. When my sister is around me, my friends always mimic her voice and say she sounds like a robot. She's also timid and anxious around people and they keep teasing her about it. Another issue is that she can't make eye contact with anyone which my friends find hilarious for some reason. How can I get them to stop? |
Question: Why do some people save their snaps on Snapchat? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 11:27 AM PDT I know it usually means nothing but especially when you and them are like new to adding each other as friends and that person decides to SAVE everything! I'm confused as to why people do this ? Is there a reason or for their score. Like I said, it usually means nothing so it's nothing to gush over but I'm really curious. Thank you. |
Posted: 24 Jul 2018 11:10 AM PDT A coworker/friend recently got fired from his job. The other coworkers here didn't like him and has always talked about him. Today he and his mom came to get his dad's autopsy report. His mom was the one who came up to get it while he waited in his car. His mom, who I have never met before, asked for me and we went down to talk, etc. I am also one of the people who they've gossiped and spread false rumors about before. I feel like this is going to add to their list of things to gossip about, and create a whole new drama. I know they will be talking about it and gossiping about why his mom asked for me and what we talked about. I am the type of people who only wants to come in and do my work, not get involved with any gossips/negativities. But as life goes, I always somehow end up in their gossips. I don't know what to do. Should I even care what they'll think and say about what happened or what they say about me in general? They act friendly and stuff in front of me, but I know they do talk about me. |
Question: Does this mean he is most likely not going to ask me to hang out in the fall? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 10:32 AM PDT This guy who is someone who I know of, but don't actutally know messaged me and was asking if I wanted to hang out. I said I was busy until fall semester started. He replied ok lol so I said but you could hmu then! as a test to see if it was just basically him being an f-boy, and his reply was its okay with the laughing emoji. I never said sorry for saying I couldn't hang out, so is his reply him saying no? Because I know that some guys will just message random girls to hook up and it isn't really out of interest in them. |
Question: Was this a fake friend? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 10:26 AM PDT Its summer now, but at the start of high school we met and become friends. We had similar interests like going to the skate park. I did bmx he did skateboarding. He would only talk to me when no one else he knew was there and when the popular crowd comes he would exclude me out. I remember when we were sitting at the lunch table he invited everybody over except me in my face. I was like ok, why would he do that. He acts as a friend one day then acts the opposite the other, it doesn't make sense. Its like passive aggressive. I'm confused why he even wanted to be friends in the first place. |
Question: How would you handle this situation? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 09:32 AM PDT I had really awful friends growing up in my hometown. They did some pretty traumtic things to me, and one of them had a big blabber mouth and told everybody in my town something extremely personal about me, that now everybody mocks and laughs at. I m now in my upper twenties and still live with the anxiety of the damage they have done to me. I avoid all my old friends from that town and am still haunted by the damage they have caused to me and my reputation. None of it can be undone and I regret every day for trusting them. A year ago I got into law school, moved across the country and made amazing bestfriends here in Massachusetts. I made the mistake of picking up one of my old friend s phone calls. She immediately began to ask questions about my sister who she always hated and made fun of, asking me about the fact that she now works as a life coach (because she quit her job as a teacher and became a life coach), I didn t answer her because I knew that this was really going to be used as gossip fodder. So then she tells me something deeply personal about somebody else from our past, it was something really private, along the same lines as the gossip she told everybody about me. It triggered me so much I stopped answering her and now all I can think about is the embarassment she has caused me in my life and all the people she told my secret too and how they all know. I am in a really bad and anxious mood right now. |

An last night I laid in bed with my ear buds in an listened to My Kinda Party by Jason Aldean an bretended in my mind that I was at skool to pick up my schedule for next year an a bunch of girls was their. We saw a drum set in the corner no one had ever noticed an I pulled a guitar out of my pocket an me an a bunch of guys started singing My Kinda Party an them girls went crazy an some even past out. Then I go back to reality and I am 16 years old an never had a gf an every girl at skool from grade 6 threw 12 has said NO an I tell you it hurts me so bad I could do suiside. I am so tired of being a looser all the time. I get beat up all the time, I get humiliated an everyone just laughs an laughs an laughs. What can I do to finally be cool an have all the girls at school be in love with me an make all the boys respect me? I thought if I had a Nintendo Switch that would do it. But my dad got me a Pop Station an told me to shut my punk mouth an be glad I got anything sense I failed my school. Sometimes I just want to go to bed an die an wake up dead. |
Question: Former friend still lingering? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 06:54 AM PDT I never explicitly cut her off, but I have recently distanced myself from someone who was really a hindrance in my life. She's mentally ill and pretty much completely relied on me instead of actively seeking help then she threw me aside the second she found someone else who would give her attention. When we were close friends I was constantly worrying that she would hurt herself and it took a toll on my own mental heath. I was basically her crutch since I was 11 and she gave no thanks or anything in return. She's manipulative and quick to turn on people, even myself when I tried to give her any sort of advice. We haven't talked in months but she's actively posting about how her life is crumbling on her instagram. This morning she texted me and I don't know what I should do. I don't want to be aggressive or rude, but I don't want her to think that everything is okay and she's still allowed to walk all over me as she pleases. Any advice? |

Question: Is this a fair deal that I am giving him? or is one of us being screwed over? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 02:18 AM PDT I have been letting a friend stay with me that would otherwise be homeless. He has some emotional and health issues that is causing him to be unable to hold onto a job. He has been applying for social security and it has been a very long and hard struggle for him. His only income is food stamps and he does contribute that...he gets $200 in food stamps a month and he will use that to buy food for the both of us. ..so this is a big help. I pay for everything else and in addition to that I pay him about $15 a week to clean the very small apt, do the laundry and take his dog out for a walk since his dog distracts me while i am working (I work at home). So my question is..do you think this sounds like a fair deal that i am giving him? or does it sound unfair to me? or maybe unfair to him? I tend to be a pushover so i am not sure if I am being too generous in offering him money for chores that i can easily do myself? i mean, he is living with me rent free ...but on the other hand he is contributing with $200 in food stamps a month for the both of us...and maybe i am wrong to make use of some of that? any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated ..thanks in advance.:) and will choose a best answer |

Question: How do i accept being a creep or social outcast without having a already bad life? Posted: 23 Jul 2018 11:56 PM PDT All my life ive been socially awkward and made fun of. I never went to college and never had friends or a relationship. Im 33 now and i have more anxiety now from thinking my life passed me by, and it has. I feel like society hates ppl like me, my own family looks down on me for staying in my bedroom most my life but its not my fault, my peers and ppl just dont like me... |
Question: I have completely lost hope in myself. What should I do now? Posted: 23 Jul 2018 11:45 PM PDT I've been working so hard but all I get is nothing. I got a 1180 on the PSAT and a 23 on the ACT. Right after my ACT scores were released I checked it and I cried myself to sleep telling myself I'm not going to make it to the Air Force Academy. I know I just completed sophomore year but I know that when I take the ACT (again) and SAT next year I will get a low score. I also am trying to get in shape and I try so hard to but nothing has happened over the summer. I lost a bunch of weight but not enough. My relatives keep saying I have fat legs. I'm not overweight I am just normal. I have fat legs and skinny upper body. I haven't joined any sports back then. I know I will join a few sports these year but what if the past high school years damages my application? I participated in a few extracurricular activities in the past but not athlethic ones. I have a 4.49 GPA but I'm only concerned about the other aspects of myself. I'm worthless. I'm not going to make it to my desired college. I am so dumb at taking standardized tests. I am so stupid. I'm not smart anymore. I'm just a stupid idiot. I'm not going to have a good future to provide for my family and take them to trips because I'm dumb. I'm not going to make it. I'm not going to make it. :( |

Question: How do I get over an ex best friend? Posted: 23 Jul 2018 10:43 PM PDT About last year we had our final sleepover, throughout the summer of 2017 I begged her to hang out with me because we were going to different high schools after summer ended. She was my best friend since grade 1 and I couldn't bear seeing us spilt apart. We never made plans and she avoided hanging out in s group with me. When high school began I made new friends, knowing that she was going to dump me. I was happy and had a great group of supportive friends. By October we hadn't been talking at all, I wanted closure on the situation and really wanted to see how she was feeling about everything that had happened. When I had confronted her, she made excuses and said that she didn't know if she could trust me anymore. I was accused of being a liar and being too clingy. Though I did stay by her when she became more popular, she didn't want me to make new friends. So it was either be clingy or be alone. We had a big argument that resulted in the end of our friendship. I was hurt and extremely sad about it, we still had each other on social media and I contemplated contacting her but I knew it wouldn't do anything. When our friendship ended I became closer with someone that I say as being a good friend, my now ex best friend did not like it and blocked me on everything. (continued in comments) . For a while I was mad but I eventually understood it was her loss. Fast forward to April of this year, she added me back on snapchat and told me she was sorry about what happened. Though I could never see us being close again, I was happy to get rid of any issues we had and to become mutual. We had a good conversation about what had been going on in our lives and how each of us was doing. For about two months we would talk and discuss old memories of our past friendship. But in about the middle of June it came to a sudden stop, we haven't contacted each other and I don't feel the need to talk or say anything to her. I am in no way mad or upset at her. I hold no hard feelings and I hope that she is doing well. Though I am sad that popularity took her over and really changed her into something that she said she wouldn't become. The only problem is, I constantly am interested in her life, when she couldn't give a **** about mine. I'm not fully over what happened even though it's been a year. Any tips on how I can fully move on? To aslo make it more clear, she became extremely popular and it changed her personality a lot, she really isn't recognizable and im trying to get over the "old her" not how shes acting now |

Question: Please someone help me. Trust issues with mom? Posted: 23 Jul 2018 10:22 PM PDT I REALLY NEED SOME HELP. This is very serious: This has been going on for 2 years. I am a 17 year old girl. I dated a girl during the first year of high school and when my mom found out, she was not very fond of it. She was verbally abusive. She would cry on the drive to school where she would drop me off. Everytime she caught me talking to her, she would get really mad and upset with me. She would say that she didnt trust me anymore. She wouldn't leave me alone with my siblings because she thought I would do something to them. I cut the reationship with my girlfriend in May. I cut all friendshup and contact in June. This happened a year ago. My friendship with my ex has been on and off because of my mom. I would act very cold around her because of my mom's influence , even though deep down I really wanted to be friends with her. Eventually, i gained my mom's trust since I didnt talk to her. However, i started talking to my my friend (who is my ex) again. I got some notifications from her and i think my mom saw them. I know that there was no way my mom would not have seen them. I really need help. I dont know what to do. Im really scared |
Question: Is my friend trying to make me look bad? (read below)? Posted: 23 Jul 2018 10:10 PM PDT I one said to her that I didn't want kids because I don't want to have to take care of a baby, I find them annoying and not cute. Now every time someone brings up the subject of kids/babies she says I really HATE them, it's almost as if she enjoys saying it. I don't hate kids and just because i don't want one doesn't mean I hate them. Is she trying to make me look bad?? |
Question: Mom won’t let me sleepover at friends house and im 18? Posted: 23 Jul 2018 09:31 PM PDT So I've never been at a sleepover, usually if i were to be invited I wouldn't even ask anymore because my mom is so against me sleeping over at a friends house. Im 18 now and i just got invited to a sleepover and i actually want to ask this time. I have a part time job and im going to college soon and i feel as if im responsible enough. I've never gotten in trouble and I've always been a good kid. Idk what to do and how to convince my mom. Psa shes mexican so its really hard to talk to her good because of the fact that she has different morals. Like for instance she won't let me move out because she says "moving out is what girls do when they want to sleep around and get pregnant and do what they want" "- good girl would stay at home until marriage " she's so hard to convince and everytime i ask her to go out. It causes a huge fight between us. Im scared and I don't want us to fight again. Last time i asked her if i could go to the fair with my friends, it caused a huge fight. |
Question: What can I do to apologize to my old school friend on Facebook? Posted: 23 Jul 2018 09:27 PM PDT Last week I've wrote one of my old school friends a personal message on Facebook and this was the message I've written to her. "It's been awhile since I've heard from you, how you been doing these days? I'm doing good, do you remember me telling you about the times I've gotten shunned & rejected by a bunch of people who I've liked and wanted to be friends with? Looking back I've realized if I've had gotten to become good friends with these types of people I don't think I would be half as nice, friendly & compassionate of a person as I became today and I don't think I would care so much for the elderly and the disabled as I do now. At my new job I've been getting a lot of appreciation from my co-workers, customers and some of the managers and I feel like I'm doing something right if I've made a positive impact in their lives being who I am, when I was younger I've had an image on who I wanted to be and it wasn't the person who God wanted me to be" What would be the kindest way to apologize to this girl for writing her this message since she never responded back to this message, I really don't want to act like a jerk towards her because I've had lashed out my anger towards her before for not responding back to my messages when I've wanted to hear back from her. Now I would rather ask if everything is alright between me and her and ask her what can I do to be a better friend for her. |
Question: Old or new friends ? Posted: 23 Jul 2018 09:23 PM PDT Heres another question that has to do with high school. So I'm going to be a fresh men this September and the I only know one person that's going there but we aren't really friends( at least not to me) she's always saying that we're friends but she only would talk to me when her other friends weren't there so basically I was her back up and I just wanted to know your opinion should I just stick with her because she's the only one I know or stick by myself til I make new friends? |

Question: What should I tell my job when I put in my 2 weeks? Posted: 23 Jul 2018 08:20 PM PDT Long story short - I told my employer that I was gonna take a gap year in order to get hired. I mentioned I was accepted at a few universities, but wasn't sure about going yet. I interviewed at 5 places & was highly qualified, but got turned down because I'm leaving for university mid August. All of the places were high turn over as well, such as Chipotle & pizza parlors. I really needed a summer job because I have to pay for my phone, car, and save money for when I'm away at university. Next Wednesday I need to put in my 2 weeks, and I was wondering what I should tell them. That I got an internship or scholarship? I feel bad but if I didn't lie, I'd most likely waste the rest of my summer job hunting & end up with no money to pay my bills. |
Question: Why do I never want to hang out with my friends? Posted: 23 Jul 2018 08:09 PM PDT Every time they ask me to hang with them I always try and think of an excuse and stuff not to go, truth is I like to stay home and do things my way. Also they literally want to hang like every day, I like doing it every once in a while but even then I still don't like to. Am I just a bad friend? Tbh one group when we got to high school started to do drugs and stuff and I'm not into doing that stuff, and they do make fun of me a lot, but I guess that's just what friends do, and they're the ones that want to hang 24/7. Also, they think I'm embarrassing to be around so they don't talk to me much in school but out of school they act like they're my best friends, this started happening sometime during freshman or sophomore year. The other group they're more nice, nicer... idk, and I have more in common with them, but idk why I still don't wanna hang with them out side of school. At least they don't ask to hang literally everyday. Don't get me wrong, when I do end up going out with them I do end up having fun, but I don't like going out all the time, I like doing things by myself too sometimes. |

Posted: 23 Jul 2018 07:36 PM PDT So a friend wanted me to come see him at his job. I said OK, and on my way there I was stood up. He told me to get over it and he changed his mind at the last minute. I told him he could have called me letting me know that instead of having me drive wasting my gas just to come there. He just said whatever and hung up the phone. I was so pissed off so I went in one of his cars and stole his radio. When I'm mad I'm mad. That **** pissed me off. Like... I can be really nice but, I felt like I wanted revenge. He called me asking if I stole it and I said yes... Only for a few days I'll bring it back to teach you a lesson. I bought it back to him, but instead I threw it down. He got mad and the the whole damn thing across the field. I just left...cause I really didn't see where u was wrong at 🤦🤷 should I apologize? |
Question: Bonded with my friend, but what does this mean? Posted: 23 Jul 2018 07:05 PM PDT I'm a guy. Been friends with a girl since 9th grade. (Lets call her Jo) We got closer in college since we attend the same local campus. We hang out all the time with friends, come to each other's dorms to study. There's never been any romantic/ sexual tension. Like sure, she's attractive, but she was never my type and we were pals. Jo is a lightweight and when she gets drunk she gets really outgoing and honest. She'll voice thoughts she usually keeps to herself. Last night we were both at a party. Everyone was going in the pool and some of the girls were skinny dipping in the hot tub and a tipsy Jo invited me to join. There wasn't much room so she sat in my lap, which was awkward cause I got hard. I've never really dated much, focused on other things, so it was a first for me. She didn't seem bothered. Once we got inside I helped her up the stairs and we ended up having a long heart to heart talk like we have before. Jo was holding my hands in hers and telling me she worries for me cause I'm "super nice, just not very assertive." How she thinks I should start dating and is willing to help me find someone. We were still naked, and we ended up crashing in the room we were in. We were still naked and basically spent the night cuddling. When we woke up the next morning, she was still a bit buzzed, but later on everything seemed cool. What does this mean? We've only ever been friends and it seemed like she wanted to help me meet someone, but it was all so intimate? |

Question: Was I right or was my friend right? Posted: 23 Jul 2018 06:08 PM PDT I have this friend who I hang out with from time to time. She's 25 and I'm 28. She doesn't drive and I do. I'm open to suggestions of places to go. But she often suggests places far away knowing I have to get her first. I try to find places we both like. She doesn't like bars or clubs. I do, but there's other stuff to do. Sometimes, I get her to try new things, but she's picky. My whole thing is with my anxiety and patience, I don't see leaving my house, going to get her, then drop her back off every single time. All my other friends drive and we meet up or take turns being the designated driver. We went out this past weekend and today, she still has an attitude. Should I be more flexible or should she? I told her I'd be more open to further places and she doesn't believe it. |
