I am a female, mid 20s who is trying to make more friends. I have friends at work but zero outside friends. I have socialized with other women but I never can really make a good connection with them. I usually feel like I don't have much in common with them, or I think they are not interesting. I am okay at small talk keeping a convo going, but it never really turns into a friendship because its hard for me to relate. How do I make friends that I can relate to and can build strong connections with?

We have been friends for a couple of years and from what I know about him he used to take drugs, drink and pretty much ruined his life before turning his life around. For the past couple of months whenever we hang out he keeps suggesting that we should try taking drugs together even though I have told him I am not interested. I have never been influenced by peer pressure and never will be and I feel like he is trying to get me hooked on to drugs which is not how I want to live my life. I dont really know how to deal with this and if he keeps it up I am most certainly going to have to cut ties with him, although I dont know if that is the right thing to do. What should I do in this situation

I have this friend, and we like hanging out, but he smells REALLY BAD. It's mostly body odor but it could be other things too. I have started to avoid hanging out with him because I can't take the smell anymore. I want to broach the topic with him but obviously it is super awkward. I have a feeling he's aware of the issue because he almost always wears tank tops. But the dude reeks.

I am a 16 year old boy. Yesterday was my birthday. One of my friends (female) is a few months younger than me. We have been friends for 4 years now. Just to be clear, we are nothing more than good friends. She wished me a happy birthday via text. Today is another of my friend's birthdays, who is a mutual friend of the girl and myself. She has known him for less time, however, wished him a happy birthday via text and also gave him an Instagram birthday shoutout. Why wouldn't I have gotten one? I'm just confused.

I'm 13 and I smoke weed. I've been doing it for a year now and my parents were a little suspicious at one point but they forgot. I usually only hang out with older people 14 - 17. And I'm very mature for my age. Well last night I was sleeping at a friends house and I smoked a blunt and at least 3 grams in his bong. The next morning I woke up to texts from my mom saying that my brother (who was with me at the time) was asking for drugs on his Snapchat story. Apparently they knew this because our sister who lives on our own saw his story somehow and snitched to our parents. When we came home they were yelling at me and my brother and we lied and said it was a Snapchat challenge where someone puts something on their story and when someone slides up you send them a dare to put on their story. We actually made it really believable and it worked. My parents also knew at the time how much money we had and noticed it was all gone when we left to our friends house. We spent half of it on weed and and thought we were gonna be ****** when we came home because there's no excuse for how we spent that much money and put on his Snapchat who's selling drugs. Luckily my friend had the right amount of money to cover it up so he let us borrow a few $20's. My parents are 70 so it's very frustrating trying to explain things to them because their mindset is so much different from our generation. I'm a smart kid, im active, I play sports, I get good grades, and I'm not lazy.

So, right now I'm in high school. I have one close friend, and thats about it. I generally never had too many friends, I guess people had something against me, or I was just very annoying or something. Anyway, I used to go to a wrestling camp back in fourth grade, and I met two really awesome people there. Two brothers who looked nothing alike. Us three were very close. We hung out on every possible occasion and always talked about "juicy" stuff. (You know, girls and such. Again, elementary school) At some point, I guess I stopped going there, and our connection was lost completely. I didn't have their phone, address, email, anything. It's been years since I've seen them, and I have been wanting to reconnect for a few weeks. Plus, since my parents are very sick (I dont want to talk about it), I've been getting increasingly lonely. I managed to find their Instagram acc. through another friend, but they don't accept my request to follow them so we could talk. (private accounts). I found them on various other social media things, but they just keep ignoring me and its painful. I don't know how to proceed here. I know the best option is to "move on" and all that **** but it's very difficult to. I miss them.

My best friend is the only friend that really cares about me. We have known each other since we were two, and now we are 13. She's like my sister. We are also neighbors (New Jersey) and I would be over her house every day. Now that she's moving to Florida, there is an empty hole in my heart. Her and her family (parents and dog) are like my second family. We've also went on vacation together! I need help on how to deal with losing her, because I love her so much, and she's like my second sister.

me and another person from a trio friend group have been hanging out more as pair instead of with the 3rd person. Said 3rd person is always wanting to make plans with me but I had other plans and i told her I was going with that other person by mistake, I really don't want her to feel left out but sometimes me and the other person just want it to be the 2 of us. And whenever i mistakenly tell the 3rd person about my plans with the second, I ask if she wants to come. Then she says no. What should I do??

So my female friend(im male) doesnt want to talk to me,she doesn t even put me on seen but she does see the messages. We had problems we talked about how she never said a single thank you to me and she stopped talking to me.What do i do?My friend just told me that he was talking to her about it she said that i m creepy or something?

i am an incoming freshman in highschool and i just graduated middle school and i am beyond upset. it really sucks having to say goodbye to literally all my friends. my best friend who i literally cannot imagine being without at school is going to a different highschool. i don't think i will EVER find any better friend then her as cliche as that sounds iceberg had many close friends but nobody understands me as much as her. and it really upsets me because practically nobody is going to the same school as me and i'm gonna have nobody. this summer is honestly so shitty bc i have no friends and it just sucks bc i'm home all the time. i am nervous for highschool bc i'm scared i won't make friends. i'm really bad at making friends because i am extremely awkward but once i get passed it i get really comfortable around a person but i don't think i'll be confident enough to make friends in highschool bc i'm just gonna be reminiscing my old memories and being caught up in my past friendships. does anyone have any advice? or can relate? ty for reading all of this haha

A guy was shy and nervous around me, didn't talk a lot to me, smiles, and very quiet. Now, he's getting more comfortable with me by initiating on social media, giving me hugs, makes eye contact, saying my name whenever he sees me, and calling me nicknames.

i'm at a soccer camp for girls who want to play college soccer... i don't really want to play college soccer. my dad wants me to & i couldn't tell him that i don't (but i definitely will once this camp is over.). i just thought i'd stick it out, but everyone at this camp is amazing. i didn't think everyone would be this good. right now i have 0 friends because everyone is frustrated with me (since i can't play nearly as well, i'm making a lot of mistakes & costing my team games). i don't want to be here. i'm sitting alone at meals because i don't have any friends. my roommate has her own friends & rarely talks to me. im trying to look on the bright side but i can't. i have the rest of today & half of tomorrow left, & i just hate that i have no friends. no one likes me. the coaches pity me. any advice to help me get through this, please?

This guy has been pursuing me for months and asked me to be his gf few days ago even though I didn't give him an answer. We were working out together and he asked me to hold his phone, then a text came from a girl saying "sweet dreams <3"I asked him who it was he said a friend then I asked him to unlock the phone but he didn't, and said it should come to that. I walked out he didn't run after me right away, but he came out a few minutes later. Anyway he says it's his ex gf and they've been broken up for over a year. I said he should have blocked her if he wasnt interested. The following day he got a new number so she couldn't get a hold of him. We met up and talked his eyes were teary he said I was his #1 priority, he's been putting me first everyday, spending time with me everyday and texting me. He claims he hasn't talked to her in months and that she's a master manipulator. He was there whenever I asked him to do anything, he made me soup when i was sick, brought me food when i was studying, made my birthday very special with coach purse and wallet and nice dinner. Could what he's saying be true? he said she doesn't matter to him and all she wants is a response etc. I asked for the text logs and he refused to show me them the following day saying I dont even consider him a viable option for a bf so why should he flipping it around on me. SO why shower me with all this and make me his priority like he said?

So my neighbor who I'm not to fond of has this Friend who lives up the road. This friend comes to their house almost every day and there in and out threwout the day. Well there have been times where they will drive so slow up the driveway and stop like they are going to say something to me when I sit outside but don't. One time they pulled into my driveway and sat there for 5 mins then left and didn't say a word I never turned around. This morning my neighbors friend goes by the house and honked the horn twice at me. My neighbor was not outside. So I don't know what there problem is. What do you think?

Me and this girl (I'm a girl too) have been friends for a number of months now. She and I hang out and talk some bit. One of our mutual friends said that we were best friends. I quickly rejected it bc she has other best friends that she's known longer. I told her about this interaction in passing. She said, "just so you know there is enough of me to go around...". She is not one to show emotion or get too sappy. So I didn't really ask for explanation. any idea on what she meant.

She used to cheat on her boyfriend with me before they broke up. I know exactly the lies that she tells and this is why I cant trust her. We still fool around, but I love her, dont argue with me about that. I have been in other relationships where i have trusted my girlfriend but I can never get this particular girl out of my mind. We have been fooling around for years now. I avoided her for a little over a year now, trying to find love with someone I trust, and now im back to fooling around with her again and it makes me happy. She is no good for me, i just love her. She wouldnt make my life any better financially, but i love her. I dont think she trusts me either, which is typical for someone who always lies etc. My mother wouldnt like her, mainly because she isnt very intelligent and also from a lower social class. These things dont bother me, because she is the only person that shows major interest in me, and has done so from day one. She shows me great respect. I took her to the beach a few days ago and we made love right there in the water, tipsy and all. I swear it was the best and cheapest date I have ever went on. She then spent the night with me at my apartment. The next day she told me that she is starting to like me and she is not sure if its a good thing or a bad thing. I really do have feelings for her and like the way she cares about me and checks for me all the time, unlike many other girls.

Im a 16 year old who usually stays in the restroom during lunch because I have no friends to hang out and whenever I go out I feel like everyone is looking at me and judging me because I'm walking alone and I feel empty all the time help ....

They are always on discord and they haven't gone online in like almost a day. I know they aren't invisible because i asked everyone if he had talked to them. I really worry for this person because they aren't in the best situation and he's always taking about how he wants to die. I try and cheer him up but he never listens. I don't have any other way of talking to him because we just use discord. I don't want to loose this person I love them to much. I can't stand the thought of anything bad happening! I don't know what to do! I just want them to come online so I know he's okay.

I am a guy and my best guy friend has been over seas backpacking for two and a half months now. I miss him lots and I do not have many other friends. I also do not have any friends I care as much about as him. I have not been out to fish or hunt or do any of the things we always do together since he left. I do not even want to go our fishing or anything alone with out my friend. I miss him a lot and I am always worried about him overseas, away from home. I try to check in with him every day. Is it normal that I feel this way? Is it normal that I check in with him every day? Also is there anyway to be less sad that he is away?

I'm almost 23 years old. I want to go back to college in a 4 year school, but I want to go away for school, as in living in a form. I'm not going away to another state, but I want to stay in a dorm college. I know what school I want to go to, but I'm still working on what major I should do. I haven't applied just yet. I want to go back to school for the Spring 2019 semester. Like I said before, I want to go away for school, but I do I go about telling my family that? They plan on going on vacation next year summer, but I want to leave home. I'm just personally sick of home at this point and I just want to go away for school. How do I tell my family about this?

I have a group of friends (well we're not really friends anymore) and we liked to make jokes together, they are usually very edgy. So one day I made some jokes about woman and took it to the extreme level. My point was to make myself sound as serious as possible because the more serious the joke the better. I have apologized for it but I did tell them that I am not sorry because i should never have to apologize for a joke just because people were offended. They call me sexist whenever I try and talk to them. I don't want them to hate me but they seem to hate me. I would just let them go and be more careful around friends but the problem is that, they are trying to convince a really good friend of mine that they should hate me to. This person understands that I meant no harm so they don't hate me for it, but I'm afraid that they will eventually convince her that I'm sexist and I can't stand the thought of loosing them. Everyday I try and clear my name so they'll stop trying to ruin our friendship but they won't listen to me. They call me a genuine sexist. I don't know what to do at this point.

So I've been talking to this girl for 7 months. We hung out a bunch and hooked up. The only thing is she doesn't text me back fast. In the beginning when we were getting to know each other she would text back faster. She went to study abroad for 2 months and we kept in contact. We already got lunch when she returned and talked for like 4 hours. Then she brought up how we should go get dinner then go to a bar after. So thats cool. But long story short i kind of stood her up. But even before that, say I would text her one night at 7 shell text me back the next day... its not really an emergency text but still.

As of right now it is summer break and I'm going into sophomore year -10th grade. I've been friends with a girl since 7th grade and we weren't really that close until freshman year which is when we really started talking to each other a lot more and sharing many things such as secrets and details we wouldn't tell our other friends. However right now, we haven't really taken the time to communicate with each other as she is in China for the entire summer and the time zone difference is huge compared to America. I haven't really taken the initiative to text her much so maybe most of this is on my behalf. However, when I do ask her how she is doing and other questions she just leaves me on read or gives short one word answers without having a desire to continue conversations. Is it just that I'm being paranoid or is it a bad sign. I really hope that this will resolve when school starts again.

I saw pictures of a few old friends on Facebook, they had a reunion, as we left high school over 5 years ago. I was not invited as I went through a rough period in my life in which I pushed everyone away, but now I am better I regret my actions. But still I can't help to feel jealous and insecure that my one time friendship group has forgotten about me. I want nothing more than to rekindle my friendship with them, but I don't know what to do. advice appreciated

So I was driving to my family's friend house to pick up my little brother and nephew,but while I was looking for driveway around a blind turn I hit theirs and 2 other mailboxes. I got my brother and nephew and didnt say anything but my family friend called me later asking if I hit their mailboxes cause someone saw me and my friend noticed my headlight was broke. I owned up to it and asked if i could replace it see and they said it was cool theyll just buy new ones and i can give them the money later. Any advice?

If you're sitting in a driveway in the car talking to a guy friend and he notices you're shivering and asks if you're cold and you say yes and he turns off the AC and opens the windows to let in some heat, does that mean anything other than he simply cares? I hang out with my older female friend, who's 49, and we have lunch together and we go shopping. She's divorced, while I'm 24 and single. She always has me try out new clothes and such. We tease each other, where she has me blushing and she'll smile a lot and point out that I'm blushing which I'll reject the idea of. I'll make her blush too, and I'll tease her back. I'll hold her hand and poke her. I wrote her a five page letter about her and gave her a necklace she was staring at at a thrift store we would pass by. Out of nowhere, she hugs me and then she kissed me. She said I was the sweetest guy she met and that my compliments and presence made her happier. She kissed me for a longer period of time and then said she had to leave and she did.
