Question: Having a party for friends to celebrate marriage instead of a wedding and reception. Ok? Posted: 18 Jun 2017 01:47 PM PDT I'm 31, my bf is 35. We'd like to get married this fall, but we don't want the whole wedding/reception thing. Our idea is to get married by a justice of the peace with the requisite number of witnesses and then have a party for about 40 of our friends. No wedding dress, bridesmaids, bouquet, centerpieces, wedding cake etc. Just like a regular party. We aren't expecting gifts either. We live out west and our families live back east, so we'll probably do something with them at Xmas, since they won't be around for the actual wedding. |

Question: Is it okey to wear black dress at a wedding? Posted: 18 Jun 2017 08:09 AM PDT I normally dont go fancy places and this will be my first wedding visiting. I bought a black dress for that (not sexy but fancy, its length is until my knees and not so much decolleté), and a black cardigan. My shoes will be dark green but their heals are beige. And a black small bag. A friend of mine told me it is not nice to wear whole black in a wedding, like a bad luck. I do not want to bring any bad luck and I know it is stupid to believe signs like 'bringing bad luck' but still wanted to know other people's opinion. PS: I asked the bride if it is okey, she said is okey but she is so polite to say no. |
