Question: How to avoid picky by up the bad habits of those around u? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 05:41 PM PDT My flatmates r ******* crazy and not at all in a good way. They're awful, irresponsible binge-drinkers with terrible taste in men. They're always pulling passive aggressive tricks against one another and just in general being dishonest two-faced bitchy slobs everyday. I have to live with them for a month and they think they're the bosses of the apartment. How can I keep from going crazy AND most of all keep from picking up their bad habits??? They say u are the company u keep and I'm terrified of any of their habits rubbing off on me. (I don't think they're bad ppl; I understand they've had tough lives and r doing the best they can.) |
Question: Some people try to intimidate me, what should I do to keep cool? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 05:40 PM PDT You'd think people would have better things to do than confront others just to make "dominance" a thing in front of them. I might seem like a threat to some, I guess. Seeing how I'm a 6' tall guy. But, anyway, how do I ignore people who try to get on my nerves? I'm just tired of living my life and being constantly bullied. |
Question: Should I leave or should I continue? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 05:32 PM PDT Okay so there was a post on instagram which was captioned by " write about you and and make Internet friends " so I was like why not. But then there was this girl saying she'll make a group with random people from the comments and I asked to join but then when I did I felt like I'm doing something wrong. actually, all I did was introduce my self but still It didn't feel right. As much as I want to make new friends as much as I feel that its wrong because of what I hear about Internet friends being someone else behind the screen.. What should I do? Should I continue texting that group or not? I'm 13. |
Question: How would you feel if someone constantly copies you who is your friend? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 05:06 PM PDT I'm in college and this girl who I'm cool with just copies all I do. I used to sit by her and she would copy my tests so I moved, then she copies what I wear, how I write my notes, how I do things, my inside of my car, my hair styles, shoes just everything and it's annoying. I don't know if it's competition but it's annoying and I've talked to her about some of the things what can I do? |

Question: How do you cope with not having friends? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 04:44 PM PDT I'm going to try to keep this short. During the spring semester, I tried to make friends by joining a few clubs/activities. I go to a community college. But things didn't work out. The clubs didn't seem to reach out back to me. It's a long story. I was frustrated and angry because my social life is horrible and I'm trying to change that. Right now, I'm on summer vacation. I applied for 14 jobs but got no job offers. I'm taking a summer course as well. So how do I cope with not having friends? My social life is horrible. |
Question: Best way to say goodbye to a group of friends you don't want to associate with anymore? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 04:43 PM PDT I have had a group of friends that we all have played games together and talked and all that stuff, what friends do. It's completely online though. We have a discord server I made so we can connect more easily than skype, and time went on and I slowly started to dislike more and more of them. About now, 2 or 3 people have left the group, and I wanna leave too. I dislike most of them now for my own reasons, except for one or two of them. Basically, I am wondering how I should disconnect myself from all the people I really don't like anymore, and how to tell this to the 2 people I do care about. As of now, all I have done was renamed myself to "Gone for good." so all they know is that I disappeared, but I wanna come back and tell the people I do care about what's up, but I kinda made it an awkward situation with my disappearance. How should I handle this? Also I know this sounds stupid since it's just all online, but I have known these people for a few years now. Also, I don't think I'm better than them or anything, I just don't like their personalities as most of them have changed a lot and changed into the type of people I don't wanna be around. |
Question: Is it wrong for me to say that I cannot afford a girlfriend at the moment (financially)? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 03:43 PM PDT I mean women who are looking for a long term relationship would love to know that the guy can comfortably provide for them in the event that they are unable to make financial contributions? Right?? |
Posted: 17 Jun 2017 03:42 PM PDT I think I am depressed. I'm 28 and feel I haven't achieved anything since leaving school. I haven't gone to uni I have just worked in entry level jobs and made no progression. I didn't do well at school and was bullied towards the end so couldn't wait to leave. I'm really unhappy in my job and have tried my best to progress but I'm still earning minimum wage. I work long hours and get one day off every 8 days and can only just afford my tiny flat. I've tried to go for different jobs but I have no experience so don't get far. Some not even an interview! I also work with all much older staff, they are all over 50! I've gradually lost all my friends and really struggle with social situations to fit in and just make conversation. I think I'm socially awkward and never have any fun with people my age. All my old friends are starting to settle down and have made loads of new friends like it's easy and I just can't meet anyone. I feel like I've missed out on so many things as I have no friends to do these things with. I feel I'm failing at life and need advice on how I can change and be more confident. I'm so lonely and feel I've wasted my twenties going nowhere. I would really appreciate any genuine advice. |
Question: Friend faking an eating disorder? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 03:37 PM PDT There's this girl in my school, we aren't really friends anymore because honestly she bothers me for a lot of other reasons than just this, but she pretends she's had bulimia. I've known her a very long time and I know that she hasn't. Anytime someone mentions throwing up, whether it be that they were sick or they felt nauseous or something, she'd be running up alongside them and say "Did you just say throw up? I love to throw up. It makes me feel so good!". Those are actual words she has said. It drives me insane and probably me more than others because I have an eating disorder myself, and so have some close family members of mine, so hearing her say it as if it's some kind of joke is terrible. Since we aren't close anymore I can't say anything really so I don't know what to do. I've tried to not let it bother me but it's been happening a lot more recently and I can't shake it off. |

Question: Can going for years without communicating with an old friend mean revenge? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 02:30 PM PDT If an old friend gets mad at you on Facebook by saying, "Leave me alone," or "Go Away!" If you do not talk to that person for many years, whether it is either on the phone, on Facebook, or on any social media, (for that matter), could that mean revenge, and could that mean that you are mad at them because you haven't forgotten what they said to you, and how that person hurt your feelings? Also, could this mean that after what they said to you, you are afraid to call them? |
Question: Why don't people get back to me ? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 02:12 PM PDT This wasn't the first time. So to keep it simple we have a friend who's studying abroad and she's coming back in 2 days . Earlier , like two weeks ago i called her and told her that we should hang out when you get back and she agreed and she seemed really interested. Today one of my friends told me that that friend who's studying abroad had contacted her and told her that we're all going out . I know when she did that i was included and all but why would she not tell me ? And tell that other friend who never talks to her ? I'm a little upset . Also , I'm just asking out of curiosity. |
Question: I like my best friends brother HELP? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 02:09 PM PDT I really like my best friends older and I'm scared to tell her. He's two years older than me, and whenever we see each other in the halls he always nods, or just glances at me. For 4 days My friends aunt is renting a beach house and I was invited to come. But her brother will be there, so basically, I'll be living with them for four days at the beach house. My friend told me we might have to share a room with him since there is gonna be a lot of people coming. I get nervous when I talk to him and I don't want to like him! He's pretty comfortable around me, he always walks around shirtless and in boxers. I want to stop liking him to save me trouble, or tell my friend that I like him... But how? |
Question: It's too hard to forget her?? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 01:10 PM PDT I'm a guy and 4 years back I became friends with a girl. We became like bestfriends, but In February we had a fight. She came to my apartment To speak in person, she needed something cleared up because she thought I had lied to her. I was explaining but she just walked away, I slightly held her for 40 seconds so that I could explain. Later she sent me a text and told me to never speak to her again. that apparently I made a big mistake by not letting her leave, and that she was also abused In the past. She blocked me soo I decided to write her 2 long apology letters, and I sent her a teddy bear but she went to the police. The police asked me to leave her alone or I can get in trouble, ( but I don't have a restraining order.) I know it's stupid to ask but would she ever contact me again?????? I feel like maybe she forgot all about me? :( |

Posted: 17 Jun 2017 12:44 PM PDT I have lived in the US for nearly 30 years and I just don't like it. People are so mean and rude to me. Nobody wants to be my friend or girlfriend. I have moved back to my home country for a few months, and I wasn't able to make it there, people there did not accept me as native person there. And I just didn't like it. I really really don't know what to do. I have went to a therapist before and I am on meds, I mentally feel fine, but I just don't like it here in the USA. Any suggestions? Question: Nervous about eating dinner with a new friend, HELP ASAP!!? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 12:42 PM PDT Ok so my friend invited me to go eat dinner with her and watch a movie and I just met her this year and we were good friends at school but at lunch sometimes when she'd ask me to eat alone with hero talk it would be awkward because I didn't know her that well outside of school (we're both straight, this is a thing as friends). I tried getting out of the dinner tonight because I don't like eating in front of other people (I don't know, it's a problem I have) and I don't want tonight to be awkward. I'm fine with going to the movie but I don't want dinner to be to awkward, how do I keep it from being awkward and having the conversation going and not be uncomfortable?? Help, I leave soon! |
Question: Some of my friends are mad at me? What should we do? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 12:41 PM PDT Ok so basically my friends went out while I hung out separately with someone else. The person i hung out with wanted to invite a friend that was with the other group so I called her asking her if she wanted to ditch them to come join us. But everyone overheard me say it to her and now they're all saying I betrayed them? I have known these people for over 10 years and I don't really know what to do? What I did wasn't even that bad. Please help, thanks. |

There is a kid a year younger than me than I know but he is going to probably have a bunch of his friends and I don't know anyone. Last time I was at the party, I didn't talk to anybody and I just hung with my mom and my dad was pretty pissed about that and I got grounded. Question: What are the social dynamics in this scenario? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 11:42 AM PDT A group of boys are playing football, the ball is kicked over to the area where some of the older boys in the school are. Basically the younger boys are scared of the older boys, but almost unanimously the group decide to influence one member of that group to go get it so they don't have to? Is this a recognised social behaviour, if so what is happening. |
Question: So, my best friend is a racist, should I stop being friends with him? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 11:30 AM PDT Yeah, it turns out my best friend is a racist. He was a pretty good caring friend at first, never thought he'd become a racist, but slowly, he turned, he became more violent, and more rebellious. I didn't mind it at first, I thought it was a phase. But then, he started saying derogatory phrases towards black people, and that was a red flag. I'm afraid my friend will make me look like I'm a racist (which I'm not). He's a friendly guy, he can be mean/rude at times, but that's it, we've been friends for about 3 years now, and I really care about him, I tried to stop him from being racist but he denies everything I say. It seems like he can't recover from this, as if he was brainwashed. His family is NOT racist, nor do they abuse him in anyway shape or form, so it's not their fault. The racist stuff he's been saying has been getting out of hand. Should I leave my best friend? UPDATE: Our friendship has ceased, I think it was for the best |
Posted: 17 Jun 2017 11:21 AM PDT Hi! So this is weird but their are times I'd love to shove my face into a custard pie!! I would love to be all done up. I'm a cheerleader so I'd love to be by myself dress up in my cheer uniform, hair up, bow in hair, makeup done and then I would set a custard pie with loads of whipped cream on it and dunk my own face into the pie. I want to be alone and do this though cause it's quite embarrassing haha! Any ideas why I want to do this! |
Question: How to deal with someone you hate? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 11:19 AM PDT I have a friend who's friends with this person I seriously don't like. He's always coming around me and my friend and they just sit around and talk and talk and talk to each other and I'm just sitting there lonely bc no one is talking to me. So how do I deal with this person my friend is friends with? She always wants him around but I don't. I've tried talking to her and it's like it goes in one ear and out the other. And Ik some people would say just try and be his friend or whatever but I can't. I just came to the conclusion that I will never like him. Can someone who understand my situation help please! |
Question: I cry everyday at least once at home? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 10:54 AM PDT My parents are very supportive and give me loads of attention, but they always yell at me and make me cry. Sometimes a fight can last up to a week or longer where I'll cry everyday multiple times. I admit that I have done somethings but they are small things like not putting away the food and stuff. But they yell at me for a long time. My parents have never hit me NEVER! They love me very much but I tend to cry to some stupid things. I sometimes cry at school for some stupid things too. I'm 13. When I'm not crying, I'm a very outgoing person and I adapt to new environments easily. However I feel like sometimes I just can't find a friend who wouldn't judge me for who I am and would be with me when it is my hard times. For example when my best friend was having troubles I took out loads of my time consoling her, but when I had troubles with my parents, I always talk to her first, pouring out my heart and sending tons of texts. She finally responds And ignores everything I had said with a random conversation like hi I'm going to the airport now. For some reason I feel like I'm always excluded from something, which I guess is very true. Even my parents tell me I don't have any friends and tells me to change. Idk what I did!!! They say since I don't clean up at home I don't do it at other people's house, and that's why I feel lonely. But it's not true!!! Anyway, I just really need to know if I should change to be a person that is perfect and loved by everyone. (I'm not popular) |
Question: Making friends at horse back riding? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 10:34 AM PDT I'm 15 and I'm going into 10th grade and I just started horseback riding, I just had my first lesson and my instructor kept saying that I need to talk to the girls there and make friends, she said that like 4 times in front of me and my dad. It was only my first day! Most of the girls there all go to this one school where I don't know anyone. I also want to make friends there myself and I'm going to be there all summer doing stuff, I just don't know how to make friends with the girls my age there because they're all kind of together in a group and I don't want to force myself in and be annoying, how to a smoothly make friends without being annoying? At lunch time they all hang around with each other and I don't want to just walk over there and sit down with them forcing myself into their friend group because I know girls hate that. What should I do? I have to go back on Monday, someone help me, please! |

Posted: 17 Jun 2017 08:53 AM PDT My parents are super duper strict and don t let me drink. my best friend since freshman year who is the closest thing i have for a brother, invited me to his graduation party where there will be lots of underage drinking. I will be the only one at the party who doesn t drink. I feel really uncomfortable being the only one who doesn t drink so I d rather not go yet he s like a brother to me so i feel obligated to go for him. Idk what to do, should i go to our high school graduation party and make an oath to my parents promising i wont drink any alcohol or should i not go and just take my buddy out to dinner for not attending his party. |

Posted: 17 Jun 2017 04:02 AM PDT I messed with one about a year ago and we made sure to say goodbye and everything. It went to goodbye and my friend said it had left. Nothing out of the ordinary has happened so far, but it said that I would marry my friend at a certain age. Could the board come back to me if it is right? One friend has the board and sleeps with it above her bed, while the other friend (the friend I was told I would marry) has the plachette. So can it come back after years or does it have to happen within a couple of days or weeks after first playing with it? Since they technically 'own' the places now, am I safe? I tried to tell them to get rid of it, but they won't, especially the one with the board above her bed...Will it come back to me or them if they try to rid themselves of it? |

Question: No friends. How do I handle rejection? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 02:59 AM PDT I'm a female in my late forties. I feel rejected whenever I see people aren't interested in me or see something they don't like about me. I desperately want to have female friends. I only have a few from my past jobs many years ago. I have not made any new friends, real friends in a long time. I know people from my son's school but they are just acquaintances. I am very self-conscious on how people react towards me when I first meet them . When I see that they don't seem interested to get to know me, I feel rejected and shy away. I feel bad that I can't be like those people who have it easy when making friends. People gravitate towards and they always seem to have people around them. I am not that kind of person at all. I am so paranoid of being rejected that I make it a point to do an astrology chart on those people using their birth date and mine to see if I am compatible with them or not. If the astrology analysis says there is conflict and clashes between me and that person, it confirms with me what I have observed when I first met that person. If the analysis says our personalities go well together and we can be good friends, then I am comfortable making friends with that person. When the analysis says there is a personality clash, I am disappointed. I don't have a lot of people I am compatible with. It seems I am always meeting people the wrong people. I don't know where to find people I am compatible with. I am so lonely. |
Question: How to connect with people in a way so they value us and do what we want? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 01:37 AM PDT The question speaks itself. i have a lot of people around me, i do them favor, i respect them. they are my priority.. but i think i am not their priority. because they rarely return the favor to me and they speak like i am always obliged to serve them. (though i clearly tray to tell them it is not). my problem is seeing people value me. respect me. i can't see such behavior. it's like i'm invisible to them. what to do? |
Question: Is this a bad best friend or what? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 12:49 AM PDT Okay so me and my friend has known each other since the 6th grade we have a very special bond the thing is is that to me she kinda sucks Im not saying shes lame because she's not but the thing is is that we both get "bullied" well at least I do I get bullied for being gay a lot by everybody her on the other hand people just make small jokes about her skin tone because shes darker then everybody else in our class but I always stick up for her saying don't talk about my best friend like that but she never sticks up for me instead she always keeps her mouth shut then when I ask her why she does this she says because I don't want them making fun of me but she. They call her blackie and stuff and I defend her and they say shut your gay âss up or something I still defend her even though I'm hurt and not only that but she always takes but never gives and she never helps me or backs me up in a argument like how most bestfriends do instead all she does is either laugh about what ever the other person says or something but never defends me when they say something offensive |
Question: How can I reconnect with an old friend? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 12:45 AM PDT I lost contact with one of my friends a couple of years ago and want to talk to her.How do I find my old friend if I lost her phone number and she doesn't have social media? |
Posted: 17 Jun 2017 12:42 AM PDT My first time getting high was the age I am now 14. This all happened around a month ago with my best friend who we will call Lacy. I was in night school and Lacy was In day school. So we really didn't see each other that often but when we did we would hang out for a while. Well my other friend who we will call Nichole had told me that she had weed and wanted to know if me and Lacy wanted to smoke it wit her and her best friend. So I texted Lacy and we both said sure let's skip and hour I go to Lacy's house and we meet our other friend Nichole at the park to smoke. 11 minutes latter after rolling the blunt we started to pass it around. It took me about 6 times of inhaling to get high I knew I was high cause it hit me hard in my chest. 5 minutes latter the pain in my chest went away and everything felt zoomed in. I remember when Lacy took her puff and she started coughing and I started to laugh after that I was done and I couldn't stop laughing. 20 minutes latter I started to get hungry so we all walked to corner store on our way there we walked past like 8 or 9 guys that go to our school ( the type of boys that bullied me for being gay I was out of the closet in school ) this one boy started to make a ignorant rap about me being gay and because I was so high all I could do was laugh everybody thought I was crazy because of the way I was laughing but they didn't know I was high. I couldn't even stick up for myself because everytime I tried to. Open my mouth I would laugh |

Question: Is it normal to be / feel this lonely? Posted: 16 Jun 2017 11:44 PM PDT I m 18, I completed high school last year. Ive just started at a new job, one of which I m very happy with. I m still getting to know people... From school I still have one close friend but she s often overseas. I have one other friend from dance, we see eachother about once a week or fortnight and I m dating someone who I see about once a week. But other than that, no friends. I m okay with a low quantity so long as there is some. Really nobody texts, calls, etc... I enjoy being alone often, I m a bit of an introvert. But I like to go out, always meeting new people and making new connections but never securing a meaningful friendship or anything lasting. I m grateful for those I do have it s just that it d be nice once in a while to have more than 3 people I can ask to go to dinner with and not be so dependent on the same people every time I want to socialise. More people to travel with, etc. is this normal? |
Question: Is it NORMAL for TWO STRAIGHT WOMEN to shower together? Posted: 16 Jun 2017 10:53 PM PDT Okay so my friend has been staying with me and since we're both women we seen each other nak** like from the bathroom I was in shower then her well tonight she came in and wanted to shower as I already was in I said you can join me jokingly, but she got in and we were fine not akward. The only thing I did was wash her back. She asked me too, but I never asked her to wash mine and she never tried, but is that normal? We also hug each other over each others back and call each other baby, but not serious as you would a spouse. I guess you can say we are super close, but we do NOT do other stuff like kissing or *** we have held hands and cuddled. We are both straight and never plan on doing anything over the top. We just feel comfortable and we both have men. Btw my Husband was cool that I took a shower with her he was just out here chilling. She is 22 I'm 26 |

Question: Why do you think this is? Posted: 16 Jun 2017 08:28 PM PDT We oftentimes love the people who despise us, yet despise the people who love us. Why is this? Does it result from insincerity? Selfishness? Stupidity? Insanity? To have or want people in your life who don't care about you makes no sense whatsoever. But why do so many do it, want those who don't want them, yet hate those who care for them? |
Posted: 16 Jun 2017 08:18 PM PDT and told me not to tell anyone but I told her parents that night because she needed help. Now she is getting the help she needs but she hates me now and she was my only real friend. I see her now with her "boyfriend" that helps her get through this but he didn't do anything about knowing she cut herself even though he new for a week more than me. I want my friendship back what should I do? |
Posted: 16 Jun 2017 07:28 PM PDT The thing is I'm quiet in class and everyone has their friend groups. It was the same for me in elementary school last year I had no friends and no one sat with me or cared about me. Everyone just ignores me. In lunch I do sit next to people from my elementary school but they don't even say hi. It's like I'm invisible. I can't take being excluded from everything. I haven't hung out with someone since the beginning of November. I feel lonely and left out because when people get up during class to talk to their friends I'm just sitting alone. This isn't all, my nobody at school realizes what I have to go through. I was taken away from my mom when I was 11 and now I'm 15. I have to see her at this reunification place and it feels like she isn't all there and it doesn't feel like we could have the same relationship again. they might not let me see her. Currently I stay at my grandmas because my dad has this girl working for him and she has the nerve to say all these bad things about me when she doesnt even know me or what I have to go through. my parents don't realize what I have to go through. My dad works all the time and I don't even spend time with him.I can't take having no friends, it's so annoying no one will ever talk to me or hang out with me. I just can't take this anymore I have been crying my heart out about having no friends and no one talking to me. I just want to kill myself but idk what to do I'm really scared. |
Question: How do I deal with deal with being blown off? How to stop it? Posted: 16 Jun 2017 07:22 PM PDT I'm a good friend and fun to hang out with, but at times I'm shy around new people. This leads to people thinking I'm boring when they just haven't gotten to know me yet. I've noticed ill get blown off, and it's become a pattern. It will even happen with people I'm close with. They may want to be friends, but cancel plans or make excuses. Why does this happen & how do I deal with it? |
