Posted: 14 Jun 2017 05:33 PM PDT I don't know what to do anymore - I just get so frustrated with people and this is a classic example of why I can't have "friends". So my friend asked to come over my house last week on Friday. All week she kept talking about us seeing each other & I was like okay fine. But she's stood me up for like 5 weeks after SHE asked to hang out. I'm not even the one asking to hang out (because there's always drama or she ditches me and doesn't tell me why). She kept asking over & over again could she come over last Friday so finally I said "no" in a joking way. But she knew I was playing. So on Friday, she never texted me back then hours later she did. She said she was sick and not coming to my house and I said "okay I'm not home anyway I'm out getting something to eat with a friend". She got annoyed and said "I'm glad I didn't come over cause I would have been bored since you're not home". I'm thinking wtf, I should be the one upset because she KEEPS doing this. I don't mind hanging out with her but why does she keep making these plans then standing me up?? Also she's very unappreciative. I've spent 3-4 hours on the phone with her some nights & she tells her friends that I don't talk on the phone with her. I'm sick of it. So I've been keeping my distance & now I think our "friendship" is over. What do you think? |

(my bff has a "thing" with someone so she doesn't like jordan, and jordan knows about who she likes so my bff assumes that he doesn't like her). Me and jordan talk in class, but recently we've been talking more ever since my bff and him got close (it helped me open up to him). my bff and him ft everynight and yesterday me and jordan facetimed for the first time for 1 hour but the whole time his screen was black so i couldnt see his face. i asked my bff if that's what he does with her and she said no he always shows his face (???) we snapchat all the time too, but we dont text (but he texts my bff). my bff says he's not the type that makes the first move on girls, but she says that he and i would be good together. does he like me??? is there a chance he likes me?? or does he like my bff??? |

Posted: 14 Jun 2017 05:22 PM PDT I'm 15 and I finished my first year of high school about five days ago and I have no idea on how I'll spend these three months of summer vacation without friends or at least someone to talk to. This may sound strange, but this year I liked school for the first time ever, because I found people that share the same interests as mine and I always talked to them during school and to be honest I consider them my best friends (I have no one to talk to besides them) but when school is over we don't talk or hang out (everybody in my class does) and they already have their best friends. I've always been a very boring and shy person, and people are always saying "why don't you talk? Please say something!" or "why don't you smile more?" and it makes me feel like an idiot because I find it really hard to talk to someone I barely know and because of this they stop talking to me after a bit. I just wish there was someone that would talk to me not because they feel pity. Because of what I've said before, I don't know how I will survive this summer vacation (after knowing what it's like to have friends, it hurts even more. During my middle school years I didn't care, because I had never experienced this) The only thing I do and actually enjoy doing is drawing. I am drawing all the time because it helps me forget about this. I'm also having trouble sleeping because I have lots of negative thoughts about how lonely I am. |

That never happened. One frienship was in 3rd to 5th grade. We could talk talk talk and talk allll day long. We wer inseparable. Sat next to eachother evryday and went to eachothers houses and our moms knew eachother. Then 5th grade happened. She left me alone the entire year and hung out w/ some popular girls. Sometime she sat w/ me at lunch for ten min out of pity for my lonliness and leave. Second, these two girls i hung out w/ and we were also inseparable. Middle school, up to 7th grade our frienship was great. 8th gr,One girl went to diff class, made other friends and we stop talking. Other friend is currently still here and she REALLY hurted me. Rn she talks to this other girl all day and treats her SO damn diff than she treats me. Nicer to her and tags along besides her all day. Doesnt even TRY to talk to me. Shes bored and annoyed when i try to talk to her. I could see her face change when shes w/ other girl. Frowns w/ me and her whole face brightens up when she see other girl. It hurts so fricken much! Lastly, this childhood frienship. We live two houses away from eachother and when we wer young, we hung out every summer and we both had a blast! Inseparable and best friends since birth. Now, we walk home together without blurting A WORD. We wer prob the closest out of ALL my frienships. Shes the nicest but idk anything bout her anymore so we dont talk. |

My friend cade recently died in 2012 by committing suicide in my school in the hallway. I was close to him I known him since we were in first grade I play games together at recess. That today when in school when the teachers making the us run out of the building and hearing some people screaming and crying I did not know what was going on until we was moved to the elementary school I was shocked but for some odd reason I did not cry. Well 2 days later I went to funeral home I broke Down crying I could not say goodbye to him, when the funeral came I did not go because I knew I probably could not handle it and plus at the time that would been my first funeral to go to. I was close to him in school and still today I have social anxiety I did not have many friends due it and low self esteem. I had about maybe 13 friends. After all of this everyday It feels like my conscious keeps bringing his name up everyday multiple time I goes away when get my mind off it. I know it is probably regret but how do I move forward I tried to tell myself at least I was his friend that seems thats not enough. I don't know what was up with me when I was younger I was more outgoing when I got older i got more shyer and anxiety. I remember when I met him 1st grade I approached him and asked him to play he was the new kid then. Any suggestions please sorry for spelling and long message thanks. |

We were roommates and we did everything together.. we were basically a package deal. But things have changed drastically since I graduated a few years ago. I feel as though it has turned into a one sided friendship.. about a year ago I got a huge job offer and moved to NYC. She didn't seem very happy for me. In fact, she made the comment "did they ask for your picture when you applied? They probably only want pretty people for that job" She hasn't made an effort to keep in touch and never asks how I'm doing... even though I frequently try to maintain communication with her and ask her how she's doing. When I come home to visit, she expects me to come to her and make all the plans. She also asks me to do various favors for her when I come home to visit, even if it means putting my own responsibilities to the side. She never gives anything in return but demands a lot of attention and maintenance. She was a big part of my life at one point and doesn't have many friends, so I would feel horrible breaking ties. But it's become very draining. I've told her how I felt in the past and she has promised to try and do better.. but never does. What is the best way to navigate this friendship? |

I tend to feel difficult to socialize with people. Then I decided to be like them, act like they do and etc.. I know this is so wrong that I don't act natural. She doesn't have a key but lately he has been leaving our apartment door unlocked so that she can come to our place and spend time with his dog when he is at work . He leaves the door unlocked while he is at work the whole day , and lately has been asking me to leave our apartment door unlocked so that she can come in while we are both at work . Is this a problem ? I don't want to be overreacting but it's been going on for the past 3-4 months. She asked me:"Do I have a flawed or faulty behavior." She keeps her promises, If she could not keep her promise, she will make up for the situation. She does not intentionally harm someone. If she does, she apologizes and fix the situation. Or the other person really deserved to be harmed. And her attitude is very good. Although I am very careful, I have not seen a flaw and a mistake to this day. But I know that, everyone has flaws from the birth. We are all human. She asked me:"Do I have a flawed or faulty behavior." She keeps her promises, She does not intentionally harm someone. If she does, she apologizes and fix the situation. And her attitude is good. I have not seen a flaw and a mistake to this day. But every person has his/her own flaws from the birth. I really don't know what to say, how to answer her. aa |
| Question: How to I drop people out of my life that I know don t care? Like I don t know maybe I m dramatic but I m so over it at this point in my life yes I m moving soon and going to college but that s a year away and I just need people around me that care the same way I do them. For instance, my wedding will probably be around $100,000 which for me is fairly normal but it is kind of annoying when other people that I either work with or I am acquaintances with tell me that that's way too much money. I literally experience this with different things all the time. Most of my friends get this because I hang out with people that I either went to school with or have known for a long time but it is rather annoying when people don't think about things in a relative sense. I came from a pretty good background but I also realize that there are a lot of people out there that made a lot more money than my family and I wouldn't criticize them for how they spend their money or what they deem is a lot of money. How about we just leave people alone and realize that circumstances are different for everyone? |
| Posted: 13 Jun 2017 09:12 PM PDT I'm going into 8th grade and instead of my friend having a graduation party she wants to take her and a few friends to florida and spend 3 days at a beach house (of course with her mom and another adult). I was invited and i would love to go but my mom isn't on board. The two other girls who were invited are for sure going and my mom hasn't said yes or no. At first it was because she doesn't want me flying "alone" even though i'll be with my friends and a parent/adult. My mom hasn't been good with flying and i'm better on planes than she is. But now she brought up the point about the money because there is another mandatory trip to florida for my cheer competition and we're supposed to go on vacation this summer as well. She said if i wanted to go i'd have to pay which is kind of bizarre considering air fare isn't that cheap normally. What should i do? Should my mom pay or should I? I hope this doesn't sound selfish but i really want to go and make memories with my friends. I've always wanted to go on a trip with friends! |

Margot and I were best friends but lately, she s been talking to me less and just seems like she doesn t want to be around me. Lily and I were closer but lately, she s been getting closer with Margot and they re excluding me. They ve been hanging out with this other girl named Sarah and I now feel like Sarah is replacing me. I have no other really close friends so I hang out with my other not too close friends and they just glare at me when I do it. Last week, Margot had a sleepover and she invited Lily and Sarah. She didn t invite me even though she knew I was free. Please help. I m feeling so sad and unhappy. Why are they excluding me? I was nice to them and listened to everything they said. We ve been friends for so many years. We are all in middle school and schools almost over in 3 days. I don t want to leave school on bad terms with them because I know they will all hang out in the summer without me and by the time they come back next year, I wouldn t even be part of the group anymore. | Question: How can I plan my family going to mass? Posted: 13 Jun 2017 08:58 PM PDT One of my friends life upstate. I'm 15 so I can't drive myself wherever I want. I usually go to mass on Satudays or Sundays. I know that Sunday is an obligation, and the Saturday vigil is okay. If I sleepover at my friends house, is the 8am on Saturday okay? As much as I love to go to my friends house, I don't see her often, I do not want to miss out on mass. How can I plan this? Please be respectful, thanks:) |
| Posted: 13 Jun 2017 08:57 PM PDT How do I deal with this toxic friend? I'll call them Tom. They are likable whenever they are nice but randomly it seems they'll just turn mean. Pretty much whatever I'll say they'll just say something like "Are you stupid?" or something like that. And then my other friend, I'll call them Josh, just agrees with him no matter what he says. The worst part is that Josh complained to me that Tom was a jerk and I was supportive but now whenever Tom is being a jerk he just blindly agrees with him. I don't have any other friends so it's not just like I can stop being friends with them. Also I'm extremely introverted so I'm awful at making friends. |
| Question: What should I do for my birthday? Posted: 13 Jun 2017 08:37 PM PDT My birthday is coming up in six days, and I have no idea what I want to do. I don't have any friends, so I can't invite anyone for a party, and I would like to go to Eastern Oregon so I can go herping but I don't think my family wants to do that. I was going to invite my sister's friends over instead, just so we could have company, but I wouldn't want to seem weird and like I want to be friends with them, like some needy teenager. I also want to go hiking just by myself, but I don't want to be selfish or seem like I don't want my family around. I do, I love them! But I like being alone. What the heck should I do? |

| Question: Why do I keep inking about dead friend? Posted: 13 Jun 2017 08:02 PM PDT Hello I know this my sound weird but I got to get this off my chest. My friend cade recently died in 2012 by committing suicide in my school in the hallway. I was close to him I known him since we were in first grade I play games together at recess. That today when in school when the teachers making the us run out of the building and hearing some people screaming and crying I did not know what was going on until we was moved to the elementary school I was shocked but for some odd reason I did not cry. Well 2 days later I went to funeral home I broke Down crying I could not say goodbye to him, when the funeral came I did not go because I knew I probably could not handle it and plus at the time that would been my first funeral to go to. I was close to him in school and still today I have social anxiety I did not have many friends due it and low self esteem. I had about maybe 13 friends. After all of this everyday It feels like my conscious keeps bringing his name up everyday multiple time I goes away when get my mind off it. I know it is probably regret but how do I move forward I tried to tell myself at least I was his friend that seems thats not enough. I don't know what was up with me when I was younger I was more outgoing when I got older i got more shyer and anxiety. I remember when I met him 1st grade I approached him and asked him to play he was the new kid then. Any suggestions please sorry for spelling and long message thanks. |
