Question: Would you invite someone to your wedding who did not invite you to theirs? Posted: 30 Nov 2016 07:35 PM PST I've had a friend since Kindergarten who, over the past few years (Mainly due to going to different colleges and living in different states for the past 3 years while working) I have kept in sporadic contact with, over Facebook and texting. Whenever I go back to visit her state (where we both grew up) I text her- half the time she is busy. We are both planning our weddings now and I had a feeling I did not get an invite to hers- I broached the subject with her and she said she is having a small wedding. I know the venue she is getting married at because I considered it as well, and the guest limit is either less than 100 or more than 150 people. I am working on sending out my save the dates and am wondering if I should even bother inviting her- does this mean we are not friends anymore? If she couldn't bother spending the extra money to have me as a guest, should I bother spending the money to have her? |
Question: What its a good gift to give for a fortieth wedding anniversary? Posted: 30 Nov 2016 06:13 PM PST I do know what gift to give to my parents for their fortieth wedding anniversary but my dad has no idea what to give my mom. He though about a ring with precious stones or other jewelry but my mom dose not use much "real" jewelry excluding her engagement ring (I think for fear of thefts). What else could he give her? I though about it and I am still thinking about it in order to help him but I do not know. I though about a trip somewhere but my dad's work schedule is very erratic. I though maybe a symbolic semi-precious jewelry with 40 beads or stones but not sure if its a good idea and where to find a jeweller that makes costume made jewellery. Pleas help. Thank you. |

Question: While he was drunk he said he would propose? Posted: 30 Nov 2016 12:33 PM PST a couple of weekends ago, my boyfriend got drunk and was talking to me about how if he was not going to deploy to Afghanistan in January, he would propose to me in December. His reasonsing being that it would suck to get engaged to him and then he end up not coming home... To which I replied, just to make the comment and not persuade him, "well, it would suck either way". He then said. "true. Ya know what? Game on. I'm going to ask you to marry me anyway so you better be ready." This threw me off guard. While we both have been talking seriously about getting engaged since August I did not expect it to be so soon and especially right before the deployment. I just do not know if I should put my eggs in that basket. Last weekend I tried to get him to tell me if he meant that or if he just said it because he was drunk. I mean, drunk words are sober thoughts but I don't think drunk decisions are something a sober person would agree with (even if it was the same individual). Part of me hopes that he was serious and will propose but half of me hopes not because of his deployment and the fact that we both are just 21. We wont get married anyway for 2-5 years either way so it would be a long engagement. Though whenever I say something like "well, you were just drunk" about anything else he usually says "so? that doesn't mean I didn't mean it." So i dont know! Anyone have any opinions about this? I'd love to hear other's POV. My anxiety about getting engaged before the deployment is because of if he does not come back, the chance that he could get into a fire fight and things go down hill- otherwise there are no doubts. |
Question: Wedding ring only cost $99? Posted: 30 Nov 2016 12:01 PM PST I have been married since February and my wife got me a $99 ring. I am not the type of person to be materialistic or anything but when I found out it was only $99 I got upset because I know she spent almost $500 for a ring she got her ex. I thought "wow I take care of everything financially, buy you expensive things that you ASK FOR and you can't even drop a couple hundred bucks on a ring I am going to wear for the rest of my life?? I only make her contribute $600 to our bills which leaves her close to $500/ month to blow on whatever her heart desires. She has asked me to buy her Xbox One, Timberland boots, an Apple Watch...And I always do it. I pay for all our vacations. Am I being petty that I want her to have to actually work a tad bit harder to save for a ring that I will wear forever?? I feel like I give, give, give and she takes, takes, takes and it just doesn't feel like this is equal at all. I don't know. Any insight?? |

Question: Why is the bride and groom not inviting my family to their wedding? Posted: 30 Nov 2016 05:18 AM PST Hi, I am friends with the groom. I have known him many years but never met his wife to be. I am now married with four children. His wife to be asked me a few months ago for my address and it now turns out we are not invited. I had messaged the bride asking why ask for my address and not invite us? She wrote back saying that she was 'sorry but the venue we have chosen is limited capacity for day guests.' I had then messaged the groom asking why and he said 'We haven't spoke in years, we are just inventing family for the ceremony and meal and then close friends and work colleagues for the reception. Your husband also does not like me and I don't want there to be an atmosphere' .. Someone explain why they are being like this?! |
