I m a 20 year old man who has one good friend who I used to hang out with every night after work(we both work the night shift at the same safeway). But due to financial issues he had to pick up a second job and now I see him once or twice a month nowadays. Now that he s barely around I fully realized how dire my social life was. I used to have other good friends but over time I lost touch with them, went other directions that them, and basically lost them all without replacing them. I m a very shy timid person, and I really don t know where to start, for most of my life I been in school and I always friends there, now in community college I really have failed to connect with other students on campus. I think that is largely due to the lack of time I m there. Only there two days a week for 3 hours a go. Going to try to join a club or two next semester and see if that helps anything. But what should I do to help put my social life back together? |

So my best friends name is Savannah and we are really close and we call each other are "best friends" because we both really get each other and are really similar. She's like the only one that really gets me. She's really important to me. But there is this other girl named Olivia, she's really sweet and she IS SO PRETTY it's not fair! And they are starting to get really close and we all 3 have gym together and when ever I'm at gym, I'm always left out! Like they always talk and I will just be left out! Humanity is a disgusting wretched, depraved species. They spit in your face when you do something nice,they backstab you when you open yourself to them,I always wanted to kill everyone on this earth.There all selfish and don't give a crap about how you feel they just spit in your face anyways. Another thing about her is that she never wears a belt (thinking she doesnt need one)and everytime she leans forward (which is almost everyday) her underwear peaks out by alot. As i got older she more and more began to prohibit me from going out with friends or talking to any of them on the phone. If i did try she would later scold me completely about it. If she saw me with female friends she'd accuse me of being a lesbian. If she saw me with male friends she'd acuse me of them being my boyfriend and later tell me she didnt want to see me talking to them again. In highschool she didnt care when i told her that i needed to attend after school clubs cause it would help me with graduating. She would always get angry with me saying i shouldnt waste her time with my school needs. I moved to three different highschool. I begged her at one point to stop making me change schools cause it would affect my chances of graduating in time because of different requirements. But she completely ignored me. I nearly failed. I had to redo some requirements. I spent my highschool years extemely depressed. With my younger sister it is a completely different story. She allows her to go out with friends. She allows her to talk to people on the phone and invite them over. She is ok with her staying after school and she never yells at her for it. She actually considered not moving for her so she can finish highschool. But when i begged her not to move for me during highschool she did not care. Literally everything she did not allow me to do she lets her do all in my face. |

Posted: 13 Dec 2016 04:13 PM PST Over the years I've lost pretty much all my friends and I know it's part of growing it's I turned 25 I figured things would smooth out. I'm 27 now and they haven't. People seem to drop out of my life like flies. I'll admit I'm a very opinionated person with deep seeded beliefs which causes some people to think I'm a jerk and heartless. Which could not be further from the truth I care a lot about people often times so much it hurts. For example one of my friends stopped hanging out with me because I'm against food stamps they the program currently is. I feel we should be sending more money on creating jobs instead of handouts. I feel that people should earn what they want that's all but that makes me an a hole in the eyes of a lot of people because they assume I've never been through hardships and don't know what it's like to struggle. They couldn't be farther from the truth I will never forget seeing my mom cry because she didn't know how she was going to come up with money for food. I was homeless at the age of 19 and spent so many nights just hoping I would live through the cold weather as snow blasted my face. I'm on my feet now and I guess my question is how do I make friends with people who had both their parents and never really struggled to survive. I'm not jealous nor envious of them I just hold so much within I don't know how to communicate on a level playing field. I want to fit into the world I just feel so lost. |

So, my other friend and I took it upon ourselves to tell the (very understanding and sweet) school counselor. She called her mom, who later praised us, as she had no clue what was going on. She now goes to therapy on a weekly basis, but she stopped. In science class today she hinted us that she was still cutting and that it was a lot. During passing period, I dragged her into the bathroom with me (and my other friend), and she revealed her wrists. There were cuts every which way, long, small, jagged, straight. I am seriously concerned for her, but my friend and I swore to secrecy. What should I do? Her wrists were full of as many cuts as you could ever imagine... I'M WORRIED!!!!!!!!!! |

I feel like my friends and family are all talking behind my back how they hate me and want me dead but I know they don't hate me. I also gave her a Christmas present today that I put a lot of thought and time into and when I asked her if she saw her gift in her locker she said "yaaa...", and didn t even say thank you or say she liked it or anything even though I spent a ton of time working on it for her. He sent me a friend request on facebook and for about two weeks straight we would chat on there. He then added me on snapchat and he kept snapchatting me every day. He kept asking if i wanted to hang out with him on the weekends and I went over to his twice and we watched movies. We also went to a uni event and we chatted a lot. So I got the impression that he either wanted to be friends or something more than that. But recently he has stopped messaging me and has only sent me 2 snapchats in the last week and haven't replied to mine. But he still likes and comments on my posts on facebook so it isn't like he is completely ignoring me. He also said before last weekend that I could go over his on Sunday but he never said anything about it again. But I actually saw him twice the other day by chance and he chatted to me and acted like nothing was different. So I'm now sort of getting the impression that he doesn't want to be my friend anymore, or doesn't fancy me anymore, whichever it is... He did say that he hasn't got much motivation so it might just be him rather than me. But I like talking to him so I don't want us to grow apart, but I don't want to look desperate. I don't really know what to do. What do you guys think? Do you think I should try and continue talking to him or not bother? He seems like a really nice guy. |

She never really tells me she loves me hugs or kisses me. She yells at me all the time calls me names and such. .you dad really doesn t care he s in another state and calls me every few months. But when I see one friend of mine and generally see how his mom cares for him and shows she truly cares makes me a little bit like "I wish that were me." Not that I like them all weird like that .(I m a girl) Just the few times that my friends parents hugged or called me nice names it made me feel good inside and I crave it all the time. I first met this girl in 6th grade and at the time we didn't talk much until the middle of the school year and actually became really good friends. Ever since that grade, we've been really close friends with each other. However, last year this girl(let's call her Gemini)befriended Selena, and because they've had so many classes together they started becoming best friends as well, in fact earned the title of "main best friend." That completely shocked me, I was confused and hurt at first. I knew this girl and I was her friend, but I didn't like the fact she was her main. However, I wasn't going to call her out or put anyone on the spot - because she's a really nice girl. I didn't care much until THIS year specifically. I gained a new friend(again, we'll call her Isabella)and we had talked over the summer and she slowly became my best friend. I noticed a hint of jealousy from Selena, but it was never confirmed until she said 'Why don't you go to your 'best friend' Isabella?' in a mocking/joking tone. The girl mostly used Selena for her phone to call her boyfriend, but lately since her boyfriend had been out of school she's been hanging with Selena nonstop - only giving me homeroom to talk to her. I usually talk to Isabella, but it's not the same, and in all honesty it sucks. I got her a Christmas goodie bag with cute stuffed animals, a sweater, and more cute things. She was happy with the bag, and liked the items in it. Yet I still feel like I'm not needed. Any suggestions on either how to cope or what to do? |

I don't know how. R and another dude K sold me and my friends (A and L) weed. We became friends around then. R was called out first and he didn't say a word. Then A was called out. He told our VP that me him and R got offered some by a mysterious dude who forced A to do it but me and R "looked like we knew what we were doing" so I get called out with A and he tells me everything A said. A agrees. Before this I said I heard of no such thing and played it cool but now the cat was out of the bag. So I agreed what he said but mentioned that he wasn't forced. He said its bs and he knows there's more. I tell him I didn't won't was the purchase so that after school me A and R can figure out a straight story. A is called out first the next morning. Then I am. He sends A into another room so he can fill in a written report. He told the VP that R sold to me more than once and I made A hide it in his house. That part was bs. So I told him it was and copied everything A said by using simple social engineering on my VP. He's a ******* idiot. L then suddenly gets called out a bit after A and me finished our reports. I get L to say the same stuff that was mentioned to me. Some info not from A like K selling to me and L. R then does the same by copying me and L and K refuses before copying us as well. Before the end of the tar I warn R and K about A. |

| Posted: 13 Dec 2016 01:42 PM PST I am a sophomore in highschool and I have 0 close friends. Sure I have class acquaintances but whenever I try to talk to them outside of school, I get ignored. I have had social anxiety since 7th grade and I somehow managed to make a friend in 8th grade, but she moved 1500 miles away before high school started. We are still best friends and still talk, but what makes me sad is the fact that when she moved away, she made friends instantly. She has a group of friends that love her. Meanwhile, I am stuck here trying so hard to make close friends and I just can't. I don't know what is wrong with me. My best friend always tells me I am so nice and I try to be kind and make people happy when I am not even happy myself. I am just tired of envying everything she has because I feel like I have nothing. |

I was so happy that I got rid of those people, but all of sudden, they started following my on my social media (Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Musically) one by one. But I don't want them to see everything I'm doing. It feels like they're part of my life again. I seriously don't know what to do :( |

Posted: 13 Dec 2016 01:12 PM PST One of our close acquaintances has been seeing a woman Dee for a while, and within the past 6 months, it seems they're "serious". We have socialized with them a number of times. We, them and another couple went to a big formal event on the weekend and ONCE AGAIN, Dee gets trashed drunk. I just realized they do this same thing every time-- she doesn't have much to say to anyone, drinks, acts ridiculous, and then he hustles her out. The story is, she "has to be in bed early because she walks her dogs at 5am" but the reality is, she's drunk by 9pm and sleeps it off. She's never made any attempt to converse with me or my husband, all but ignores or rebuffs my attempts to make small talk, and has recently started being even snobbier toward me. Well, my question is-- am I wrong to be DONE with this woman? I realized-- I don't need to be sitting with some drunk cow who has nothing to say to me. She brings nothing to the table, is all but anti-social, and she and our friend bail out early. Do we need this? I'm saying to my husband, "we deserve better friends and better treatment". And also, am I wrong to think they're just actually very RUDE? She ignore us all night, drinks to where she's cross-eyed, and he babysits her until she's gotta be taken home. What, if anything should I do besides decline any further invites from them? A part of me wonders who, if anyone, would even WANT to socialize with them. Opinions? |

My best friend has been married to a verbally, emotionally abusive and controlling man for 4 years. They have a 3 year old son together. They are currently renting a room from us. He doesn't allow her to work. He gets angry when she talks to friends and family. She isn't allowed to drive when he is not in the car. Every time she gets a phone, he breaks it (along with many other items they own.) they were planning a trip to Texas to see his family in texas. They have been arguing a lot the last few days, and she has since decided not to go. He's now threatening her with a divorce and the kidnapping of their child. (He is from Mexico and has told her he can disappear to Mexico with him and they will never find them. ) I'm not sure how I can help (other than calling the police if he tries to take him, and just being there to talk to her. And reassuring her I will be here for her if she needs me.) she has considered leaving him, but she is scared of him taking their child, and still believes he can change. I also want her to have a working phone, but am not sure how to do that. I told her to apply for a low income phone, but her husband doesn't really get proof of income. I need any advise. |

| Question: How do I deal with my best friend causing me extreme anxiety? Posted: 13 Dec 2016 12:35 PM PST I'm a junior girl in high school. I have a girl best friend and a guy best friend. The guy best friend is someone who is very close to me, but I see him completely as a brother and nothing more. He recently confessed that he likes me. I let him down easy and then he pretended he meant he USED to like me, even though it is completely obvious and everyone knows he likes me right now. He's very sweet and caring but I find myself often really uncomfortable around him. He is a great guy, but he also ALWAYS makes me feel really guilty about everything I do. If I don't text him (I see him at school almost every day) he will get upset and constantly text "Are we okay??" and it always stresses me out because I have to be there for him 24/7. Ever since he told me he liked me, I can't be around him because I get severe anxiety. It freaks me out thinking that he's thought about us dating or being together. I want to cut him out of my life, but it's very unrealistic because I have classes with him and our school is really small. What do I do? |

She said that I've done some things over the last 4 months that have made her not trust me so she doesn't want to be friends anymore. I called her but my calls keep going straight to voice mail. I text and got no response. I called one of friends that I recently became acquainted with and asked if he knew what was going on with her and why she said that to me. He said he didn't know. A few hours later she text and said since you're inquiring what's between me and you is between me and you not me you and Lee or me, you and Lisa or anyone else. You just reconfirmed today why I don't trust you... I'm still so confused about why she feels this way. I didn't do anything wrong so why is she ending our friendship? |

She and I had been good friends for a few months, oftentimes having both intelligent and nonsensical discussions during and after work. One day, I texted her about a fellow employee she trained days ago. My co-worker stated that it was a short crash course, then I proceeded to ask her, "how's your day been?". There was no immediate response, and have moved on to other activities. Later that night, she sent me a very straightforward text. In it, she mentioned that "...we were just friends..", and that "I friendzoned you, and you know I mean it". During my discussions with her (at the phone or in person) had nothing to do with romantic or sexual endeavors. I simply asked how her day was, and how the employee training event turned out. I heard people said the people here are very kind. I thought I was gonna have the best experience of my life, but...no. People paid no attention to me, not talking to me, and gave me some weird awkward looks at me in this year at high school. The people here are completely different, most whites few blacks, I'm only Muslim here and Pakstani look, and I don't wear shirts or shorts, I only wore dresses, even in gym. Some people are nice to me, but not in my all classes. I'm such a loner girl, sometimes, being socially isolated from people, I couldn't help it. I have two friends who are in my lunch period but not in my classes. It's so hopeless, feeling alone in classes, and hallways. Sorry it's long paragraph, what can I do? I feel so upset, I hate my life I feel like I wanna hide and stay with my family. |

No matter how I am feeling, I hide it behind a straight face. I hardly laugh, smile, but I don't cry either. I am a high school student, graduating this year. I have never had a true friend for my shyness. I have been called boring and "no fun" dozens of times since middle school. My insecurities eat me up but no one knows under my calm exterior. I worry I am too boring for anyone to want to get to know, I don't come off as the most exciting person. I am an introvert. I am quiet, I don't like to yap my mouth and gossip. I am not as immature as my peers. I go to school to benefit myself. I want, more than anything, to be accepted into a good university, get good grades, and have a high-paying job I can ALSO enjoy. But even if I am at the top. I am still lonely. I was bullied. I've suffered quite a lot through endless name-calling, exclusion, bullying, and my insecurities built up more and more, causing me to make a wall between me and my emotions. I am too shy to ask for help, afraid of seeming desperate or dumb. I am too afraid of initiating conversations, afraid of rejection. I don't really trust people anymore to be kind, I've been let down a lot. I watch people laughing and having fun with their friends, and secretly, I wish I was the same. People assume I am only concerned with myself and continue to see me as boring. I cannot open up. I am very slow at it. But I hate this, help please! Not to mention my own teachers become surprised when I open my mouth because I hardly ever talk. People tell me to smile all the time, and the rare moments I do, it's a shock to them. I hate this image, I really do but I worry it's just the way I am. I shut people out very easily, I hate to be disrespected! I am too observant, I overthink too much and my overanaylzing holds me back from so much. I am a goody-two-shoes, it makes me different. I don't like parties and I know good from bad choices. |

So I agreed so we went we had lots of fun her husband did too then they took me into a sex club I frlt akward but we had fun I fid tell my friend before that I had want to experience one of those places one day and she did take me but husband went. Im also married but she asked me not to take my husband because she would feel akward. One thing her husband did do was push me he graved me by my waist slowly and took my close to his di*k not sure why but I just had to giggle I do get so nervouse around him. He also wispered at my I look so gorgeous and all it gives me is the gihhles do u guys thing I might just like it I just dont get upset? But i do get scared lol |
