The story I was told was he died in a car crash shortly after I was born and his family never wanted to meet me because Iooked too much like him and they were too sad. I found my bio-grandmother on Facebook and she wrote back delighted to hear from me and my Dad is alive and well. He purposed to her and she declined because of his lack of a job and drinking at the time and they broke up. He went sober 11 years ago and regrets not being in the picture. She would love to meet me this summer. My mother is now upset I did all this behind her back. Why did she lie? What would be so damaging about "he has a drinking disease and you can meet him when your older"? And the part that his family didn't want to meet me? That to is a lie. I am 20 now and plan to meet them this spring or summer (they don't live nearby) but why would my mother lie and should I contact my Dad right away or wait until my grandmother arranges it this summer? She said you can contact him anytime but if more comfortable I can arrange it this summer or spring so for the time being we left it with that. He does look a lot like me. I don't expect him to be perfect or he would have sought me out but why all the deception on my mother's part? She just says "it was easier that way then explaining it all" so I know she is lying there to.

My mom gave me her apple headphones a couple months ago. Even though she gave them to me she still said they were hers and I didn't complain because I didn't have another pair of headphones. She told me to take care of them because they were hers. Today I was using my phone and the headphones were plugged in. I stood up and my phone fell and the headphones got caught in the charger somehow and they broke. I took $40 from my savings and told my mom to buy another pair and keep them, and I said I'd use another pair someone had given me (crappy $2 headphones from the gas station). I told her that the headphones were $30 but she started yelling at me saying that she was keeping the change because I was stupid and clumsy and that it was my fault that they broke (even though it was an accident, the phone was on my desk), and making fun of me saying how it was my loss and she was going to have "so much fun" with her new headphones. I'm used to her screaming at me and saying that kind of stuff but shouldnt she be idk happy (?) that instead of lying, I accepted my responsibility, took money from MY savings, gave it to her and told her to keep the headphones? She won't talk to me and she keeps screaming and I don't know what to do. She'll probably make a big deal out of this and tell my dad and ****.

I guess I'm just getting used to me and my siblings being all grown up as I have 4 other siblings. My mom invited everyone over for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. My sister and her new husband who is Muslim seem to be shying away from tradition as they will not be there Christmas Eve even though they live 10 minutes away and she's always over there doing laundry. My mom and I want to move to another state, but my dad does not like changes or hor climates like the new state. I dont really have anything to leave behind in the current state i am living in. I am homeschooled and 13 years old so i can do my school anywere and not have to change. My moms whole family is in the new state and we really want to move there. All my dad cares anout is his job and the only reason he wont move is he does not want to find another job. It is much cheaper in the new state. All i want to do is convince him to move. Speaking from experience, it seems like parents (usually fathers) encourage and support daughters in their ambitions while discouraging their sons. They usually don't believe in their sons and prefer they follow into their path.

For example, today my mom came home from work and saw that the curtains were not lifted in her room, and started yelling at me immediately for this. I said that I didn't know that it made a difference considering there is no one there. She continued yelling and said that the flowers required the light. I said that I did not consider that and it did not even occur to me and if I was informed beforehand I would have lifted the curtains. This is just today's example, I get yelled at everyday of my life but what I want to know is, is this the correct way to handle the situation as I argued that there is no need for yelling and swearing and treathening, because any problem I am certain can be resolved peacefully, through discussion and mutual understanding. What is your opinion?

So I'm cooking myself breakfast, and i turned the stove on to heat up the pan for when i put the eggs in, and I'm grabbing milk out of the fridge, and my mom comes in and turns the heat down, so i saw this and asked her not to, because I'm the one cooking, i know what I'm doing and it irritated me that she just jumped in and changed it. (I have a pet peeve when people interfere with what I'm doing-Especially food) and she completely went off on me. She yelled "Are you f**king kidding me?! Im turning it down because it smells like its burning! (i had just turned it on) God, I'm sick and f**king tired of your disrespect!! I gave birth to you not the other war around! Do you understand me!? (i respectfully said yes because she's yelling at me) Your this f**king close to getting your a** beat do you hear me?! THIS F**KING CLOSE! (At this point she was provoking me by pushing my arm with her face extremely close to mine, and her spit landing on me) And she just went on screaming at me for the next 5 minutes, and then she left in the garage to smoke weed. Im crying because I'm just so angry, and I FEEL disrespected, but i can't do anything about it. So I'm just asking, do you think i was in the wrong?? or her, and how do you think i should talk to her about this, because i don't like being her thing to take her stress and anger out of. Tuesday night I came home 30 minutes late and my girlfriend lost her complete ****. I told her to calm down and I wasn't cheating on her and we will forget about it and I will cook her birthday dinner and everything will be good. Then she punched me in the face, she said "don't ever tell a pregnant woman to calm the **** down, Braden. Youre whore you're screwing around with other girls just tell me the truth right now." I said nothing more, I went into the room and I picked up our son and I left. I took the dog and cat with me too. She followed me out and to the door way, onto the porch and out into the yard screaming profanity at the top of her lungs. It wasn't like I had hit her, my nose is ******* bleeding like crazy. For example Christmas Day he wants us to work all afternoon for him. He is cleaning the field behind the house and wants us to work all day after we open some gifts. Yesterday after someone tased me and I was clearly worried about myself, I drove to my friends house nearby. Fine I'll just admit who that someone is (my ex, I'm embarrassed I still have him in my life). I was still so hurt, and worried because I did not want that scary thing on my wrist forever where he tased me, which has luckily healed so much since. (He claims I reached my hand out and basically tased myself, he can't take responsibility for his own actions). So I then wanted to call him mom and tell her because she is nice usually and half heartedly cares about me, but he made it impossible for me to. I could never tell my mom, she thinks I'm dumb for even hanging out with this dude, and she's right but she's also uncaring and abusive. She might have said something like "that's what you get"... It was the birthday of one of those girl's yesterday so after I calmed down and put ice on it, I turned off my sadness and we all celebrated... Went ice skating etc.. (ex included). While they think he was wrong for what he did, none of them were mad at him in any way. We all acted like it was nothing. Later on when the day was about over it came up and I still showed emotions about it, the other girl from earlier rudely asked that we talk about it "at home, because it happened hours ago".

My grandma is the same way- but her niece (I am adopted, so this is my adoptive family) never had any kids and was a teacher @ one time and now runs her own business. Whenever my kids talk to anyone or do anything (like kids do) that she does not feel sticks to she and my grandma's "children should be seen and not heard" belief, she begins yelling at my kids and bossing them around. He thinks throwing money at a situation will improve things, so he booked flights to go to orlando and new jersey this christmas, they left today and are coming back on the 4th of january, i have other family in london, but it just hurts so much that my own mother is letting me spend christmas and new years alone, when she knows how i feel about my dad.

I won't serve alcohol but he gets drunk at his apartment in the morning on Vodka and other alcoholic drinks. It wrecks Christmas if I don't see him and I am worrying like crazy about this.

Last year there was a HUMONGOUS brawl that ended in a shootout. My family Christmas usually consists of 20 people or more. I make one big turkey and everybody brings a side. Hello, I am a 23 year old male and I am in a homosexual relationship with my partner (24) of three years. This is a really embarrassing issue to be bringing up, but it's really putting a rift in our relationship and I need advice on how to fix it? For the first year of our relationship, we were the kind of couple that switched roles during sex; with him being top one night and then me being top the next time, but a little after a year he suddenly refused to let us do this anymore and for the last two years he has insisted on being the only one to top. Im 14 and my mom died in late august of 2012, 4 years ago. time passing by without her makes me uncomfortable. i don t know how to explain it. i spent 10 years with only my mom, i don t want so much time to pass that it gets to the point where i have spent most of my life without her. i think that s what i m trying to say. is this normal ?

See, I'm not allowed to have a phone because my mom thinks that's a bad idea etc. So I've been buying them off of craigslist or off of my friends and secretly had them around. I got caught many times, and my mom gets furious whenever she catches me with it, and I lose her trust. And these days I've been thinking about how I don't want to hide things around and be dishonest with my mom, and also it would be good for me to focus more on academics. And also because my sister found out today that I had the phone and she was going to tell my mom, I went outside and threw it down the drain. Now that I've calmed down part of me wishes I hadn't done that since there would've been better ways to not have the phone at home, but without throwing it away I still would end up bringing it back home. But the other part of me thinks I can just get over it and it will be better for me and my relationship with my family in long-term. I just don't know how I should feel about this and I just want to know if what I did was right.

She has bi polar so she ALWAYS gets mad at me and stuff when i dont even do nothing saying stuff like I',m not **** type stuff my dad knows all this yet he doesnt help he Doesnt care about me what i do or nothing He does help me get to work but the whole ride its like anything i say he ignores me i use to have chest pains i use to think i may be having a heart attack or something they never took me to the hospital but when my mom needs to go THEY JUMP STRAIGHT UP TO TAKE THEM ! i have a brother that older and it Obvious that my dads favor him he is bias to anything i say in favor of what ever my brother say my borthers knows it he just doesnt say nothing when i talk to my brother about things that my sister has been doing like Staying in the bath room and when i talk to him he just always blames me he will say well maybe you should get up earlier for work when im already getting up and hour and a half early ! With my mom she NEVER gets mad at this gross stuff my sister does she will walk around the house when she gets mad half naked and just say Ignorant **** like "I dont care if i need money ill just strip" My mom never does anything and my dad doesnt say nothing either and he apparntly doesnt cuz my mom is the one who needs to! My dad wasnt like this when we was younger all of a sudden these past years he just doesnt do **** he just ask everyone to do stuff for him and lay around all day and just get mad at me ! I dont even do anything i feel like the odd one out when i dont even do nothing ! He owuldnt even sign me up for school i had to forge his signature just to get in! And anything i do i get in trouble HEAVILY FOR like yelled at all day get called a ***** and stuff ! when i dont even do nothing as bad as my sis My sister is 21 years old and everybody kisses her *** like she a little girl! i get threatened to get kicked out if i do anything wrong yet there weak threatenes but still And I gained some weight i just been so stress with the Health problems i been getting like the weird heart beat and sometimes i get a weird feeling on the side of my chest it doesnt feel like nothing really i got checked out they said i was fine so im not really worried its from all the Monsters i drink i drink lots of cold water and it goes away Cuz i have a problem with staying hydrated ! so dont worry about the health side! I want to know why i get treated this way? My dad is turning 50 and my mom is turning 44 i just want to know why i feel left out and like nobody cares about me im not sad about it or nothing i just wanna know why they treat me the way they do as the youngest i get treated like ****! nobody treats me right or cares about me please be specific why you think they do this to me? as a kid i felt Loved now i feel like **** from everyone mom or nobody ever ask how im doing or nobody keeps me motivated when i had a hard day at work or school i know im turning into a man soon but i know this isnt how i should be getting treated I had to teach my self how to drive like nobodu helps me with anything they just either make broken promises or just ignore me
