Every time I go to work, I usually close the door in my room. But every time I get home from work, the door is wide open, and they're the only two home only. Like what the heck? I pay the bills and everything and yet, they still have the rights to go into my room. -.-'

So my parents have been separated for four years, and divorced for one. My dad moved out when I was in the eighth grade because he was using heroin after years of being prescribed pain killers by doctors for his numerous surgeries. Last winter he was living in his truck. My mom invited him back and he stayed with us up until this past October. It was something I needed, because when he left, he left suddenly and I didn t understand why. I had so much anger built up over the years that it triggered my mental illness. When he came back, I got closure. I forgave him and for the first time in a long time, I had a family again. After my dad moved out, my mom started talking to his friend on Facebook. His name is Bryan. He and my dad used to work together putting garage doors in. My dad told me to be careful around Bryan, because when they were fixing our garage door, I pulled in the driveway and went in the house, and he made a comment about how well I was maturing. "She s got a nice butt on her." My dad supposedly went off on him, but he didn t go too far because it was the only job he had and he desperately needed the money. I told my mom that I don t feel comfortable around Bryan, at all. She refuses to believe my dad and basically says "too bad". She yells at me and punishes me when I say that I don t want him around because he s a pervert. I don t know what to do at this point. She cares about him more than me, and I don t see why she just doesn t even care about me.

Question: My brother is a drug addict and mistreats woman. He is coming to Christmas this year. How do I not let this upset me like it is right now?

I have to go since it is my parents place but I hate my brother so much it is going to ruin the holiday. I was so much hoping he wasn't coming. He is currently sober my parents say but I don't trust that. If he is he still treats women horrible and treated our parents like **** for years and still ignores them.

She says we no longer see him because she wants to protect me from his drinking. When I object she says again that she is protecting me and my 2 siblings from his drinking. She says she divorced him to protect us. This means it is caused by me even if I am not directly at fault. I want to go apologize to him so much but my Mom won't let me. So am I the reason like my Mom feels that we don't see him and they divorced? I know his drinking is another reason but I feel I am a secondary cause. I feel like he is 70% at fault and I am 30% at fault.

Question: I am sick and tired of my Mom hurting me by her fights with family. How do I get her to stop?

My sister is normally a very active person. She is either always out at parties, traveling, or doing something else, but for the past 3 weeks, she hasn't left her house once, she doesn't talk to anyone anymore, she doesn't eat all day, and she sleeps all day. I haven't asked her because I don't know if something happened but what could be the reason? What are some reasons people go into hiding?

So I'm 19 years old, I'm a freshman in college and I have a job at a hotel and babysit everyday. My parents are always telling me what to do and who I can and can not go out with. I always have to say I'm going out with someone that they know because if I say I'm going out with someone new they always say no without a reason. I'm always at home babysitting everyday all day even during days I have school. I do pretty much everything around the house and they don't seem to appreciate that. Everytime I want to tell them something, I can't do so because they always think they are right no matter what. Everything is one sided with them no matter what the situation is. Now, I still have to ask to go out or anywhere I go, and expect me to text them when I get to the location and when i leave the location, who I'm with etc. I don't seem to have any control over my life due to my parents telling me what classes to take for college when the major they want me to take isnt for me, what i wear, who i can talk to/hang out with, etc.

I said one thing to my mom, my mom said to the dog oh the dog has no friends and my mom she has none so i m like well you know what they say my mom cut me off and said flock together and i m like no and i said oh if you don t like change it or stay miserable and my sister said to me why aren t u taking ur own adivce. My son and daughter are supposed to be in 11th grade. They have been doing home school since they were in 6th grade. Homeschooling is not free or cheap, I stopped buying them the school workbooks and school supplies they needed at the end of 8th grade. They have not been doing school for basically 3 years. Why are they so spolied? They say it is my fault they will be a failure, isn't my fault I don't want to buy them anything, and it is not my fault they refuse to buy their own workbooks!

Hi, my son is 18, his profoundly Deaf and has 2 hearing aids, we communicate using speech and sign language (though his speech isn't very clear) his in year 12 at school, his in special classes- so he does ok) His the only deaf person in our wholee family, i lived in Brazil when we was born, he got a bad virus when he was 3, lost his hearing then we moved back to australia and his siblings were born Anyway his been acting up lately for about 1 month ever since he was taken to hospital for a high blood sugar ( his also type 1 diabetic and we were out and he forgot his insulin and he passed out ) Now his being rude to his brother and sister (they are 17 and 15) usually his an angel to everyone always offers help etc.. Now, he hasn't been doing his injections, his been ignoring us when we try to speak with him and last night I hear him crying softly in his bedroom but I didn't disturb him Him and his father have been having issues since then too He knows he hasn't been doing his insulin injections so his been yelled at even to the extent his dad has been doing his injections for him like a child Anyway, please help me and tell me what you think is going on? I accidentally broke my mom and dads meth pipe dad slapped me and mom told me to get the **** out and dont come back till tomorrow, I have no where to go I ask all my friends they said I couldn't spend the night except one friend that said I could spend the night at there house but they live in a drug house theres sex offenders and people injecting drugs there, my friend warned me that id have to spend the night on the couch in there living room and said that I probably get sexually harassed, that might be my only option though. im at a local park right now its snowing, I dont have any money, im only a 5,3 and 89 lb girl so I probably couldn't fight off anyone, im to scared to go home when I left my dad threatened to strangle me if I came back, theres no homeless shelters near me, what should I do?

I am 53. I never drive my son and daughter places, I am rarely around them. I have had them in online schooling for 11 years. I never got them a drivers permit, or license or car. I never taught them to drive at 15 and 16, and I am sure not going to start now. My parents taught me at 16 and got me driving lessons at 16, I do not want to do either for my son and daughter. They're 17 and 18. They have no job and never had one as I never got them an I.D and I refuse to drive them and every time they apply for job the places tell them they're unhirable as they have no transportation. We live in the south and public transportation is an hour away which I will not take them to. We live on an interstate/highway. There are cars everywhere and no side walks or areas on the road for walkers. You cannot go into town without using the interstate/highway. Why are my son and daughter so scared to walk in the road behind cars as if they were driving but they'd be walking? Come on! I've been beating them with belts for 12 years daily yet they're still entilted and spolied brats! They have not been around peers for 10 years yet they're still spolied! I have not bought them a gift for 12 years either why are they like this? I'm not in the wrong

My mother has been claiming that my husband and I physically and verbally abuse our 15 y/o son. The truth of the matter is that we do give him a whopping when he deserves it. Popping him with our hand stopped working years ago when he was like 7, it just wasn't effecting him as much anymore so we had to hit him harder. Then it got to point where our hands weren't cutting it and we introduced him to things like belts and pretty much anything in reach when he was being a pain. My mother was fine with all of this until a few months ago when she first started interfering and trying to get custody. As much as it sucks to say, hitting him works to a point then it doesn't bother him, so what do you do??? I told every one at school that I was getting a Xbox One, a Play Station 4 an a Nintendo Switch an like 100 games for each one an Jordon shoes an a NES classic an like one of them animals that hatches out of the egg an a Ipod an an Ipad an a Iphone an stuff for Xmas so I would be like the most populer boy at school. So I started to like drop hints to mom an dad, cause its not like I am asking for a ton of stuff, that like 4 game systems an a pair of shoes an three Iphone like things an that toy egg thing. But every time I start doing like hints an stuff, they just don't get it cause they are SO ignorence! My fiance mom doesn't like me. At first it was ok but I guess once him and I got closer she decided she didn't like me. She has always been a little rude to me and I usually just take it. She belittles my character and says horrible things about me all the time. The problem is she lives in another state and wants him to come home. He doesn't want to and she think it's because of me. She says I'm controlling and manipulative. Even though I've tried numerous times to get him to go home because I don't want her to be sad. He won't even go visit her or call. Most of the time I have to encourage him to at least call his mom. He claims he's always been like that towards his family. But she says otherwise, she claims he was changed since he met me. I found out he yelled at her because she was saying mean things about me to him.And I feel horrible. I asked him to at least apologize for yelling but he refuses. I've never been nothing but polite to her and I always try to get him to talk to her but its his own decision not to. I feel horrible they had a falling out. My mom is a singer for a local rock band and when she performs, sometimes she tries to look all sexy by dressing in revealing clothing. During the Summer, there were several occasions when she even went on stage in nothing but a bikini top and jeans. I mean, my mom is pretty and has a nice body for her age but I can't help but cringe sometimes when I see her strutting around on stage looking like she's dressed for the beach or something. last week i came home from the army and 25 years old. i served my 6 years and ready to start college, i waited at the la airport and no one came to pick me up after i sent them all letter when i coming home months ago. so started walking to my parents house which is about 14 miles away (bank was closed and i don't have a debit card to pay for a cab). Lucky someone was nice and offered me a ride. but when i got there at 1 in the morning it turned out my parents don't live there anymore. and the guy who gave me a lift was nice enough to let me crash at his place for the night. after a had everything sorted out with my bank i went and got a bought a phone still living in a motel 6 today sadly. hit up some old friend on facebook we all went out for a drink and turns out they're all either done with school, married or have kids of their own. i called my brother this morning to get some breakfast at dennys and he started his own business has 2 kids and a loving wife. he pulled up in a ferrari so i'm going to assume he's doing good for himself. we didn't talk much he kept answering his phone for his business/ trying to eat/ talking to me. i feel left behind like the whole world moved forward and i stood still. i don't regret join the army but at the same time i feel out of place when came home. Do yo ever feel like you were left behind?

Christmas is in 10 days and I'm going to ask and uncle and aunt if I can come by and bring the gift by the uncles on my dads Side of the family and the aunt on my mom side. All four grandparents of died. How can I enjoy myself if they decline? The uncle has six kids so he might be too busy to visit as well as his kids. They aunt is helping her mother-in-law who has cancer so she might be unable to and probably will be unable to. How can I still enjoy my Christmas? I'll be with immediate family but immediate family I see all the time it's only special if I see extended family and the grandparents of died. I still miss the grandparents so much so seeing other family helps fill that void. Immediate family is my two siblings and parents and my sister's daughter.

I am 19 in second year a university but I live at home and commute (so does my older sister, and my younger brother is in school). My dad doesn't live with us and my mum has a condition that makes her tired and sore a lot of the time. I help out more than all my siblings and I am the only one who is not dependant on her for money. Recently she's been getting really upset that we don't help out enough but won't take into account that I am doing my exams. During my exams she decided to paint the house for example while I was studying then starts shouting because I didn't help. She also gets really angry at the moment because the dishwasher wasn't emptied or that the washing wasn't put away. I usually always help but I just have a lot of stress with exams at university and she won't accept this as an excuse. Now she is saying that she won't do any work not even buy food. She also has said that she doesn't want to cook for the family at Christmas (even though I am the only one who EVER helps to make the Christmas meal) and that she really regrets buying us Christmas presents. This has really upset me but I don't think it is justified, especially not directed at me. I am very upset but I don't know how to respond. She feels underappreciated but so do I. Any advice?

There is so many things that piss me off so quickly and it annoys the **** out of me when people start blaming it on things. I m 16 years old and I recently made a big purchase on new computer parts and put it all together. I like computer gaming even though I don t like to admit it I spend a lot of time on it when I am playing. But aside from that. Like. Everything pisses me off. Like everything would be going fine but I would get a phone call from my mom and it just pisses me off. Because I absolutely hate talking on the phone like why not just text. When on the phone conversations seem to just drag on. And instead of calling the person she cares about she will call me and ask how they are doing and she will go through the entire family. Or if someone asks a question and it s really obvious stupid questions (the ones people ask just to try and make conversation or make sure of something) it pisses me off and i start yelling. Or I m tired so I m quiet someone askes me why I m quiet and I say because I m tired and then they ask why I m tired and it just pisses me off. And my mom has started blaming it on my new computer that I worked my *** off for it only pisses me off even more. Is it because I m 16 and growing up? Is it because I m growing? I've tried everything. I hacked his accounts, I hurt him fysically and mentally and his daugther too. Now they no longer come here so I cannot do it anymore because my mom is at his place instead. She is just straight up cruel to me, and i dont know why. She acts like she is super privileged, she litteraly treats me as i was her servant, i mean, i love my sister, guess im a family man, so if she asks me for anything i dont mind helping, but those are litteraly orders. She also never calls me my name, just uses terms like that guy, hey you, hey loser and such and so. And she always says things like im ashamed we are siblings. I love my family but recently it's been horrible. Since my half sisters siblings began coming over it's been horrific. Her younger brother has been causing cayoss, yet his dad doesn't do anything. When I talk to my mother she hates it too but when it comes to standing up for me I have no one. Today they came over and as always I get ignored. Her brother always hugs and jumps all over her when I talk to her, and always tries to make me jealous. When I was discussing uni with her, her brother darted over- his dad had to tell him to leave us alone while we played. When they're gone I ask if we can talk, but they all rush upstairs and moan and shout when I speak. Their dad doesn't discipline them enough and blamed me when I tried to stop My sisters half brother from going on MY Xbox. Yet when they don't come at all, they all show me love. What do I do?

This will be long. I am thinking of just not talk to my mom again once I move out I know she buys me clothes gave me a roof on my head etc... But she can be so mean she calls me skinny doesn't bother me but when I was eating chips once she said that I need them how would she feel if I said you need a salad? The other day my brother bought Burger King she added a few more nuggets on my plate in a rude way before I walked away. One of these days I will make her feel so bad if she keeps this up. I know she thinks I'm skinny because she weighs 200+ pounds I weigh 150 but doesn't mean she needs to act like that she can do something about it I almost weigh 200 pounds once but I did something. She doesn't usually yell about anything in particular, but ever since I could remember she would yell every day. She yells at everyone in the house, even the dog. I'm thinking I should just leave the house before she gets home everyday and come back home when she goes to sleep. Idc if I have anywhere to go. Just to be away from her. Either that or put my headphones in and ignore her

My dad went to prison was I was 7 and got out when I was maybe 17 18, even when he was in jail around the time I was in high school he would call and ask me to send things for him and my grandmother also bought him stuff every month. Then when he got out of jail he kept asking me to send him money, I sympathized because I knew he was getting him life together, but there were time where I would say no and I would keep asking until he got it, even though I tried to explain that I'm in school and have my rent to pay, it like he didn't care what happened as long as he got it. So I got engaged and my fiance and I went to his country to visit, almost every week he kept asking for money almost all the money I brought went to him, it was always a sob story about how he needs to fix something, then on top of that he was living with his gf and I stayed with another family member and he kept telling us that we would pick us up and then never shows up. I was completely embarrassed because it wasn't a good impression for my fiance who now thinks he's just using me. My dad's excuse was that his gf kept getting mad when he went out with us and when I confronted her he said he is the one who didn't want to go if she didn't go. so I told myself that I wouldn't give him another cent. before we even went on vacation he called frantically beginning for money to pay a loan or else he gets arrested, what should I do? he already owes me like 500$US and my fiance is upset/annoyed about it. sorry alot of typos Sorry for all those typos I was rushing, the gist of what I was trying to say is after coming back from vacation and having such a disappointing experience, I decided not to give him money again, but now he called frantically begging to borough money for a loan that he owes or else he goes to jail, he said that his work slowed down for the holidays and will pick back up next year, he said that he will pay me back everything including the 500$. Is it harsh to say no?

one of my friends is 16 and has a baby (4 months old) and I feel like she is very immature and not taking motherhood seriously. I haven't talked to her about this but I probably will soon. she is always away from him, either at her friends house or out of the state. She's away 4 days of the week, either going on a vacation or just going for fun. She always has her friends over screaming and yelling and drinking, playing loud music, smoking, etc. which I'm pretty sure is bad for a baby. She always brings guys to her house and she is always doing things that get her into trouble (speeding, driving without a license, etc.) She is capable of being a great mom, only when shes actually with him though . Do you think this is a good environment for a baby?

My sister knows our mom pierced my belly button last month when we were staying with her for Thanksgiving week and she recently got in a lot trouble with our dad after he caught her hiding something from him he didn't want her to have. I have a feeling she's going to rat me out about my belly button ring just so she's not the only one in trouble because that's just how she is. Should I fess up to my dad before my sister does? I know he won't be happy and might even make me take it out.because he hates piercings. He'll probably figure out my mom was the one who pierced me too since she did my ears when I was younger. I'm also worried it will put them at odds again and they've been on friendly terms for a while now. Maybe because I wanted it, Kevin. >_>

so my grandma and uncle came over last night right after my mom got her subonxone. she had 90 now all she has is 19....he stole over 60 now he's saying he doesn't have them and my mom called the pharmacy they said they didn't count them since they already come closed up. what should she do?? she also called the doc said she couldn't do anything about it but i can't see my mother get sick.

I m 18 and a freshman in college. I have never done anything remotely romantic/sexual (I have not even gone on a date before) and have never been someone who parties, but my mom still insists on tracking me via Find My iPhone and reading my text messages. I have argued about why her breach of my privacy is messed up many, MANY times, but she has an extreme and unreasonable distrust of me, and I don t see myself being relieved of her oversight until I get a new phone plan and move out. I m over-disclosing because part of her "suspicion" about me is that sometimes I go to friends dorms and hang out and watch movies or do other small fun things late at night, and I feel like one of the conclusions she s drawing about me could be that she thinks I m having sex, which is not the case because I haven t even held hands!!! I know that ultimately in the future, I am going to have sex, but I don t want my mom s messed up oversight/perception of me to be validated by me asking for birth control, because if I ask her to help me get on the pill, she ll perceive me as even more untrustworthy because she ll think I m sexually active, which is not the case. It s not so pressing for me that I get birth control as soon as possible, but I know I need to think about it for the future, and I m losing my patience with my mother and I need to find a way to get it before something happens. I appreciate any advice about clinics that would keep my visits confidential, thank you!!!

So my life dream has always been to move to America. I am from Estonia- really small country where is basically always cold. Even in the summer when it is supposed to be hot.. So here are few reasons I really want to move: 1. I love doing gymnastics and I was doing it almost eleven years, until the place was shut down. Now where in my country isn't place to do gymnastics anymore, I mean with trainer. But gymnastics is part of my life. 2. I hate cold. I have never liked snow and cold. I travel a lot with my family and always to somewhere warm, like Thailand. I have been in America for 3 times and I always love it there. 3. I could have so much better education there. Like literally my country education is pretty bad.. 4. I love speaking English. But I am 14 so,there is no way I could move there alone right now. I have talked about this with my parents, but they tell me to finish my school here and then when I am 18 I can move there by my own. (Btw thing isn't about the money, our family is really wealthy) (And don't get me wrong, I know it costs a lot and I am not some king of spoiled child) Any way, the thing is that there is no point to start doing gymnastics again when I am older. I know I should give them time to think about it too, but could you guys please give me some ideas how to convince them? I know its big step for them too, but if i convince them to even think about it,ti would be great. No hate comments please :) Thank you!

I'm just not very fond of my neice(17) and my nephew(19) they're my brothers "kids"(obviously 17 and 19 are not kids anymore). I want to uninvite them over for Christmas. Neither of them know how to drive, so they'd be coming along with my brother. I don't want them coming. I like my sister's daughter(24) and that is all. I personally believe "young" family members should be kicked out right at 18, and have no contact with parents, siblings, aunts and uncles. Because 18 is a legal adult and it's childish immature to be seen with family at that age. What is a polite way to uninvite my neice and nephew over but tell my sibling to still come? Our family has been excluding neice and nephew since they were 8 and 10 year olds.

I asked my parents if my christmas present could be delayed until march for the switch, but they said no because I already have a wii u. My Dad won't do anything about it. I know when I am an adult I can see who I want but I am 14 so that is still 4 Christmas' or more away. I feel anger and hurt at the holidays. The rest of the year it doesn't sink in as much but here at Christmas it hurts and wrecks the holiday. Even people I know at school with divorced parents get to see both. My Mom says my Dad doesn't deserve me because he mistreated her (they both fought like kids) and that I shouldn't love someone who was unfair to his wife. All he did was not have good financial ethics. People say maybe there is more but believe me, my Mom shares everything, way too much. His flaws all involved work and my Mom having to work because of his mistakes. How do I get over this hurt my Mom causes and how do I get my Dad to fight her over it (he says he is done fighting her). He;s no saint but he is my Dad and he is better then her since he doesn't block my access to people like she does.

Question: How do I get all of my Dad's inheritance when he dies instead of my siblings getting anything?

I am reminded of how we were different from the rest of the family when I was little because my Mom would not allow us to see her side of the family because she was mad at them for her Dad being an alcoholic. For 7 years we were the outsiders unable to have Christmas with extended family. It hurt me greatly. When my grandfather got better we started going again and had many happy years. He died last year and so this will be the 2nd Christmas since his death. My grandmother has died also. So now it is back to there being no big family gathering but not due to a feud, just because naturally people are with their own kids now. It feels so much like when I was little and we didn't go because of my Mom's anger at her Dad. Even though there is no rejection now and nobody is getting together I have this compulsion that I need to see everyone to make Christmas good. I am in therapy for lots of issues (this included) and just thought I'd ask for additional advise on here. How can I make Christmas good if I don't see my Mom's side of the family?

Question: On Christmas I have some relatives I want to go visit and if possible on the 25th. How do I phrase asking without imposing on them?

Yesterday I got accepted into my dream school in Hawaii. I currently live in Maryland. My mom and I do not have the best relationship. She's very mean to me as opposed to my older brother and she much rather cares for the cleaniliness of her own house and what's for dinner rather than me going to school or having work to do that day... I am forced to clean and cook for her so that I know how to be a good "wife" when in reality she's just too lazy to do it. Do not get me wrong i'm thankful for the ability to clean and cook better than most young adults my age but I want to be a little free. Away from overbearing family. How do I tell her I don't want her to come? I don't know what to do?

This weekend me, my little sister and my dad were supposed to go visit my grandparents, since Christmas is coming. Mom is working so she wouldn't come. I prefered leaving on Friday to get to spend more time with them, but my dad was adamant about leaving on Saturday. So when my friends were discussing when we should exchange the Secret Santa gifts, we all agreed Friday evening would be best. Now my mother comes and tells me that we are leaving Friday. I proposed that I go with the train, but she said it's a waste of money so I either go with my dad on Friday or don't go at all. She started yelling at me about how I am selfish, and my plans can never get canceled so they always have to work around me and such. That is not true IMO, I am always the one to cancel my plans to accomodate theirs. Besides, I usually have to give a 3 day notice before I do anything just to make sure they don't have plans with me. And anyway, in this case it is not about changing my plans, but about having to change the plans of 7 people because my parents changed their minds, and I just can't do that. Does that sound reasonable to you? I am so hurt right now that they would treat me like this. I'm 22 btw.

Today my 18 year old youngest sister and I finally got into it. I am in college and unemployed with no car. I moved here to get away from her because she is crazy. A year ago she moved in.  Tonight her and I finally got into it. She said to my mom that Im unemployed and then yelled out at me when I accused her of using all of the power in the apartment under my breath.  The power went off and she kept blaming it on me even though I only had one thing plugged in. Then she kept telling me that she has a job and a car and preceded to scream for a long time at my mom after I closed the door. My dad lives in a bad bad area so I can not live with him.  Usually I do not say anything to her at all. Its impossible for me to work full time on weekdays. My university does not have weekend classes for my major.
