Question: Who do I choose for my Maid of Honor?! Help!? Posted: 13 Dec 2016 10:11 PM PST I am stuck. I have to choose people in my wedding party and it has come down to 2 people for my maid of honor. One person has been my friend since 7th grade. We were 2 peas in a pod in high school, but since have grown more distant. We live in two different places, and talk occasionally. My other friend has only been my friend for the last 2 years. We went through our college program together. I now talk to her almost everyday. She is also always super helpful and an amazing listener when my job is stressful. Do I go with the person I've been friends with for 12 years, but have grown distant. Or do I go with someone who has had my back for the last 2 years?? |
Posted: 13 Dec 2016 06:52 PM PST I want them to be at the forefront of my wedding. I love them like my own. I have been with their father since they were babies (6 months, 2 and 3 years old). They call me mom and I always introduce them as my children. Once we are married I plan to adopt them as their mother is not part of their lives. As I was talking to the pastor of the church on how the wedding ceremony was going to go. He kept saying "Are you sure?" when ever I brought up what they were doing. My mother also objects to them that being that integral to the ceremony because the ceremony should focus on me, him and OUR future children. I don't understand, is there some old tradition that says no step children in the wedding? These ARE my children and the ceremony is binding us even more as family, why shouldn't they be a huge part of the wedding? They are now 4, 6 and 7. Melissa: In this instance I do NOT need her permission. The courts have terminated her rights as a parent and she has a restraining order out against her for my children and my fiance. You do not need to get snippy when you do not know what is going on and how does this even pertain to the question. After the normal ceremony, I will be making vows to be their mother and them my children and any children I have with their father will be their siblings. Then I will present them with lockets that have a family picture in it now and a space for a future picture. They also will have seats at the head table during the reception. |

Question: What does a promise ring mean exactly? Posted: 13 Dec 2016 10:36 AM PST Is a promise to one day propose, like a pre-engagement ring, or is it a symbol of faithfulness? Like... what? |
Question: Engagement Question? Posted: 13 Dec 2016 10:35 AM PST My boyfriend of 3 years said out of nowhere that he intends to marry me, but wants to make sure he does it right. What does that even mean? Does he think im expecting marriage? I have never even slightly hinted that I want marriage, so I was taken aback by this. Any insight? Thanks |
