Question: Do I go to an engagement party I wasn't formally invited to? Posted: 03 Dec 2016 06:58 PM PST I have a friend who is having an engagement party. She has been planning it for two months. A week before the party she sent out a group text to a bunch of our mutual friends inviting everyone...I was not included in the invite but my girlfriend was. The party is tomorrow night. My girlfriend says I should go but in my opinion, I never received a formal invite (and I know none of the details of the party) so I don't feel like I should attend. The bride to be has my contact info and I've invited her over text do do things in the (recent) past, so she is fully capable of contacting me. Am I wrong in thinking this way? Thanks for the advice! |

Question: Help! My soon-to-be mother-in-law is trying to control all of my wedding planning!? Posted: 03 Dec 2016 02:26 PM PST She is sweet as can be but get offended very easily. She has no daughters so she is trying to use me for her idea of a perfect wedding. She has registered my fiance and I at every store with registries available, we didn t even know until I got an email about it and we didn t even pick anything out. ON TOP OF IT, we aren t even getting married for four years!!! I love him but his mother is driving me crazy. I am trying to be as nice as possible and I always treat her with the utmost respect but I just don t know what to do now. She picked out the venue for us even though we haven t really even started planning yet. We are both still in school, that s why we are waiting four years. She has planned almost everything completely and we have had no say whatsoever. Even worse, my fiance doesn t even say anything about it even though him and I have talked about it several times. |
