Question: Maid of honor duties are making me anxious.? Posted: 14 Mar 2017 10:25 PM PDT My good friend asked me to be moh for her wedding over a year from now. I was excited and have enjoyed doing wedding related things. But today she was in her dress and I was playing with it,like fanning it out bustling it for fun and for inspiration. Well she said good ur practicing because on my wedding day ull need to make the train look nice. She said I don't know y no one did that for you (i got married a couple years ago), i said yes they did before i walked down the aisle. And she said no ur gonna have to do it at the alter for me and while im getting picts taken. Wellll im pretty shy and clumsy when i have to do things in front of people. I'm already dreading the pictures. I wanna be a bridesmaid, but not moh now. Idk y but performing a task in front of many others is really making anxious. Ive always been like that. If I think people r watching me i become incapacitated almost. My wedding was under 100 people and it was all family( my family is unbelievably enormous ) and I felt scared just to walk down the aisle in front of all my family. How do I tell her? Should i just suck it up? Help me. |
Question: The bride hates Here Comes The Bride/Wedding March in its normal version!? Posted: 14 Mar 2017 07:42 PM PDT Well I ve been planning since he popped the question to walk down the aisle to my dream choice of song: an instrumental version of the Enya song Only Time. A few days ago my fiancé, when discussing the few things on HIS must-have list mentioned seeing me as a bride walk down the aisle to the traditional Wedding March a.k.a. Here Comes The Bride. I hate the idea of that with a passion especially the original organ version. We are NOT getting married in a church just using a recording for that part and I have suggested that Only Time play from the moment the guests start coming in the room until I am about to walk down the aisle after my bridal party and then we switch to the Wedding March. I m a big fan of variations/covers of songs and I have been trying to endear myself to versions of the song like a pan-pipes version or a harp version of Here Comes The Bride. I am looking from YOU for specific variations of the Wedding March - serious ones only please. But with so few important things to him I badly want to be able to use this song just with a different variation so if you can tell me who does it and ideally also give me a link to it in the iTunes Store or Amazon music you d be doing us both a huge favor! Thanks from a bride desperate to give her groom the incredibly few things he s an asked! P.S.-in case inquiring minds want to know I will run at least two favorite versions past him to enure it still fits his dream! |

Question: How to have a courthouse wedding? Posted: 14 Mar 2017 02:39 PM PDT My fiance and I are wanting to keep things simple with just us at the courthouse and have a big party next year. I know you need a witness in both sides but is there someone we could use at the courthouse? Also how can we make sure it's just us there, I don't want any drama with family members. I had a big wedding planned but my mother is refusing to pay now due to family issues so we'll pay on our own next year. I've tried looking up our courthouse information but I don't see too much. |

Question: Is it just me or are weddings male-dominated? Posted: 03 Mar 2017 11:37 AM PST I know that the wedding is supposed to be the bride and grrom's day, but I can't help but notice a few things. Why is it just the father of the bride giving her away, why doesn't the mother give her away as well and why don't the groom's parents give him away? And in the speeches, why is it just the bride's father (again no bride's mother or groom's parents), the groom and best man? Why is there no bride/bridesmaid speech? That's been the case for all weddings I've seen and been to, I'm going to one at the end of this month and the way I've heard them talking it seems like it'll be the same way. Is this sexism? |

Question: Should I walk down that aisle? Posted: 02 Mar 2017 07:03 PM PST I'm enagaged and about to get married. We have had a lot of ups and downs in this relationship but we managed to still be together. Now we are planning wedding but his parents are back home in a country. I was planning to sacrifice having wedding here for them but things are getting dangerous down there. So he said he will try bringing them. Now it's a long process to do that and if they come they will probably have to stay with my family who already don't get along because his parents don't treat me well and I don't want to pressure them into that. He's not finding a solution and isn't working with me. I'm already getting stressed as it. Is this meant to be with all of these complications? I'm beyond stressed and not feeling excited about wedding get near. |
Question: I want to stay a virgin in my marriage what should I do? Posted: 02 Mar 2017 12:20 PM PST I'm scared of losing my virginity and I'm about to marry this guy in 1 1/2 months. I told him I wanted a virgin marriage and then he got pissed. What should I do? I'm so scared of having sex it's one of my biggest phobias. I want to stay a virgin for life I'm 25 years old. Sex scares me to death. I cry at the thought of having sex. The wedding is so close and I'm so scared of the sex. I don't know how people had sex for thousands of years without feeling scared. |
Question: Traveling to Canada with engagement ring? Posted: 02 Mar 2017 12:19 PM PST A week from now i am going to Toronto, Canada to propose to my girlfriend and i am bringin engagement ring with me. My question now is, do i have declare the ring to Canadian customs? Or just toss the ring in my carry-on bag and call it a day? Im thinking like putting it in a ring box then wrap it with my socks and just leave on my carry on. Is that gonna be a problem? |
Question: Should I go to an acquaintance's wedding? Posted: 02 Mar 2017 11:09 AM PST When I got married, I asked a acquaintance who had just gotten engaged if she wanted to attend my wedding. It was an informal invitation, over Facebook, as a nicety. When I got engaged, all I wanted to do was go to weddings, and I didn't know a single person getting married. I thought maybe she felt the same way, so I invited her. She came, but honestly, I kind of regreted inviting her because we're not close and it was weird seeing her there. Now we're approaching her wedding. I received a save-the-date and was invited to the bridal shower.... I'm assuming because she feels obligated. I would be happy to go, eat, drink, and have a night out... but my husband and I won't really know anyone who would be there. Would it be rude to not go? Or should I do her the service of not having a near-stranger at her wedding? Maybe I should go to the bridal shower and not the wedding? |
Question: I'm having second thoughts and it's because of my future mother in law :-/? Posted: 02 Mar 2017 08:58 AM PST I am getting married in less than a month and I am having second thoughts. Firstly, my fiancé and I and his mother are living in a two apartment building situation. She lives in one apartment and we live in the other one(they are side by side). She has done tremendous things for us and has been helping out a lot since our apartment is not furnished. While I know she's trying to help, she's been doing some things that I find really offensive and highly annoying. Every week on a particular day she could sit us down and lecture us about various things. And every week it's the same thing she tells us over and over. Recently she's made some comments about how dusty our apartment is and what needs to be cleaned. She has also told us how she wants our furniture to be arranged and how she wants us to dress, in particular....me. She often makes comments about me changing my look to one that is socially acceptable (modern and not old fashioned) and changes to my hairstyle. I also mentioned in her presence that my fiancé and I need to cut back on meat to save more to which she replied *No, my son needs his beef*. Every week is the same routine with stuff she says and the lectures and I'm getting annoyed. I've discussed it with my fiancé but he is now understanding and seeing things from my perspective bit by bit, but I'm afraid he's a mommas boy who will always let his mother rule him and now I am having second thoughts about marrying him. ( we are both in our 20's) |
