Posted: 13 Mar 2017 12:11 PM PDT Ever since I got my job it s gotten worse. I have suffered too much with her. I m 18 now and I just wish she learnt to understand me. I have suffered burns, her digging my nails into my skin, candle wax drops, welts from the belt and so much more. I just wish I had somebody right now to be here in my darkest moments. |

Question: What To Do About Abusive Dysfunctional Family? Posted: 13 Mar 2017 11:47 AM PDT Ever since I dropped out my college in Aug, my family has been treating me like crap. My mom gets mad over little stuff and I had to call the police on her twice in the past 3 months because she was threatening me for no reason. When my sister comes home from college during breaks, she talks crap about me. Today, I finally have had enough. My sister walked past my room and called me a dirty piece of trash for no reason so I lashed out. And my sister tried to play innocent by being calm and I looked like the crazy one because I was lashing out. My mom started laughing at me and calling me crazy and threatened to call the police but it's my sisters remarks that made me reach my breaking point. I never lashed out before this. I have no one else to stay with and barely any money to move out. Im lost on what to do. Im 18 turning 19 in a week btw. Im just ready to leave this house and never see these people again |

Question: Legally what can I do? Will I get arrested for moving out? Posted: 13 Mar 2017 11:26 AM PDT I am 18, I am diagnosed as bipolar not currently medicated. I did self harm close to two years ago and was suicidal. I want to move away from my verbally and emotionally abusive parents. I have a few questions. My mom said if I did try to leave I better leave naked because she bought me all my clothes and I could go to jail if I took them. Also when I leave it'll be during the day. My sister is homeschooled and will have to be left alone at 11. Is this child endangerment if I leave her without notifying my parents. Also because of what I stated about my mental health she said she can call the cops and have me put away if I tried to go anywhere. Legally is this true? Can I really not even bring clothes? Will my sister end me up in jail? Can I be locked in a mental hospital? |
Question: I notice my dads friends only come over when Mom is home? Posted: 13 Mar 2017 11:15 AM PDT My mom makes them soup and crackers. They like to look at Moms body--I know this. I think my mom shows off for them too. I would hope not. but my mom has a spark in her life when they come over. I don't know if I would be ok with those friends having to be my dad. you know what I mean? I'm friends with one of the guy sons, his mom is ugly, so maybve they like to be around my mom because she is pretty. |
Question: Update, my mom and boyfriend got into an arguement? Posted: 13 Mar 2017 10:48 AM PDT So here we are in march and unfortunately my mom is still acting ridiculous about what happened in Nov. My boyfriend is still not allowed in or around the house, when it comes to me either she wants to be around me or she doesn't Friday was really the only time since then that we have even been in the same car together, we had plans Saturday to go get our nails done but my son ended up ruining that and she told me to go do whatever I was going to do because she doesn't want to see me or do anything with me. Today I asked her what was she planning on doing today she asked me she wasn't sure then asked what was I going to do I told her I'm not sure I need to go make a payment then probably go over when ever he gets out, I walked to the restroom to look for something and I hear her tell my son well we aren't going to go look for Easter stuff your going with your mom, I don't know why I bothered to request days off if you weren't going to be here next time i won't request days if your off your off. I dont know what else to do this is just getting more and more ridiculous and everytime some stupid thing gets said she asks my dad well when is she leaving if she's leaving she needs to hurry up. Please help I don't know what to do anymore! 😢 |
Question: I want to move out of my parents house? Posted: 13 Mar 2017 10:45 AM PDT I'm 18, and I want to leave. I have a stable home willing to take me in (my family is verbally abusive) I'm afraid 1. If I leave my 11 yr old sister alone when they pick me up can I get in trouble and 2.she said if I ever tried to leave I'd have to go naked because I can't even take my clothes because she bought them. Also I used to self harm two years ago and I was suicidal back then and she said she would call the police and say I'm mental and I'd get put away if I left. Is this true? Am I really not allowed to take even my clothes |
Question: Should I kick my alcoholic mom out of the house? Posted: 13 Mar 2017 10:37 AM PDT My mom has been heavily drinking for about 16 years of my life (I'm 21 now) and over the years shes been in and out of rehab and jail, she doesn't have any friends and she cant keep a job so she lives with me and my grandmother. shes abusive to my grandma. She constantly fights her, even tried to kill her. She constantly tells me how much she hates me and my grandma and how she wants to kill my grandma and she wished that I would kill myself and that she had an abortion. Every time she was released from jail, or got kicked out ,my grandma will always let her back in. I have tried multiple times to talk to her about sending her to a mental hospital but she wont listen and when I call police, she runs away. Grandma lets my mom live here abuse everyone, saying how "she has a mental problem. we cant kick her out" Anyways, so my grandma is dying, and she told me when she dies the house will go to me, and that I should let my mom live here. While I love my mom and I wish we had a better relationship, she hates me. She has never been there for me, she has emotionally and physically hurt me my entire life, and my grandmother had to raise me instead. Bottom line is she is making my life a living hell, and I cant live with or without her. I don't want to abandon her because I love her, but If she keeps on abusing me like this I might end up going insane. I cant talk to mom because she screams when I try. When grandma dies, what do I do? I don't have any other family, my mom was adopted and my grandmas is not in contact with her family at all. |

Question: My sister is a weirdo!? Posted: 13 Mar 2017 10:23 AM PDT Yes she is! She definitely doesn't act like a normal person in her age. She spends the whole day in her room reading books or playing video games (yes really!!!) and leaves the house only for school. She never goes to any parties, I have asked her many times to come with me but she always wants to stay at home, how pathetic is that? She is gonna be 18 soon and never had a BF, not even a kiss. yes she's very lame, I know Also she has 0 friends and always sits alone at school. and she's quiet/shy and awkward, even to me she never talks a lot... it's really annoying for me. Ugh why does my sister have to be such a weird girl?? How can I convince her that she's not normal and needs to change? I once called her 'quiet weirdo' just for fun and after that she didnt talk to me for many days? theres nothing wrong with some joking or teasing I guess? |

Question: How would you tell someone that you've been sexually abused? Posted: 13 Mar 2017 10:16 AM PDT One of my cousins sexually abused me. And I never said anything. I'm 23 now and I was 7 all the way to 13 when he was abusing me. It's been 10 years since he hurt me and I am done with him having control over me and filling me with fear. I want to tell his parents and my own. I want to contact the police because now, my 6 year old niece is so near by him, and I refuse to let him hurt anyone else. One person was too many. Can I file a report against him after this long? Will it be taken seriously? And how should I tell my family and his about this? I need some encouragement and ideas, because I might get cold feet but this has to be done. This isn't just about me now. I'm scared for her. Thank you for reading, and thank you to anyone who answers me. |
Question: Mom always asking me for money? her reasoning as to why she doesn't need to pay me back? Posted: 13 Mar 2017 10:07 AM PDT okay so i know she's my mom and i'm supposed to love her and all that, but it's been getting on my nerves because she borrows money and when I ask her for money she complains and if i mention that she needs to pay me back anyways, she yells that she raised me for 18 years and that i should be paying her... also i tried saying no to her once and she guilt tripped me into giving her money because once again, she raised me and she deserves to be paid back. my question is do you think her reasoning is right? or should i stop giving in and letting her have my money? |
Posted: 13 Mar 2017 09:48 AM PDT Me, my boyfriend, our two kids, live together in an apartment. His mother lives with us and does pay her share of the rent. She brings her grandchild over almost everyday and she also brought another person to live with us. Now I've always felt this way where I don't like when other people (other than my bf and kids) live with me. Idk I just start to get bothered at things they do. Like they misplace our things, leave random toys scattered around when they aren't home, fridge is messy and full because they just place food anywhere in there. They leave open soda cans in the fridge. Around the bathroom sink is always messy with soap and water..they don't wipe it dry. They throw their blankets in the back porch and the grandchilds toys too, which makes the porch look very messy. Dishes get washed but sometimes have a spot where they missed to wash off food. Sometimes they forget to lock doors. One time they left the back door ajar all day when no one was home. Can't keep certain decor around the house anymore due to the grandchild touching/breaking things. The grandchild screams super loud when he doesn't get his way (spoiled, destructive kid. Hits/scratches my kid 😒), They leave water bottles, chips, cookies, open candy on the counters instead of just throwing them in the trash or putting them away. I know these things are small things but overtime it gets really annoying. Because of that I don't like living with others. Am I the only one who would get bothered by this stuff? |

Question: Son asked if homeless mom (Ex) can live with me. How do I nicely say no? Posted: 13 Mar 2017 07:17 AM PDT My son s mother and I had a one night stand when we were young & I later found out that she s bipolar, financially irresponsible, a drug user and a thief. When my son was 2, I was granted sole custody after she attempted suicide. It was a very sad situation. Our son is now 24 and knows none of this. They now have a relationship. She seems to have gotten better, but has alienated her family along the way (she s stolen from her dad, brother, etc.) and has no one. She d rip anyone off- she even tried to use our son s SSN to get credit. I expected this and was monitoring his reports. He has no idea. The issue is: My son just told me that his Mom is being evicted again. And this time she will be on the street. He wants me to take her into my home. Son said his apartment is too small. I do own a large home that was formerly a duplex that we converted it to a single family home. I m now married with 2 kids (teens) at home...but, as my son pointed out, we could all live on one floor - and his Mom could live on another floor (there are two kitchens). My wife and I are very uneasy about this. His Mom might be stable now (but latest eviction raises a flag), However, I ve lived through her violent outbursts, threats, stealing, pill abuse, etc. I really don t want to open that door again. I understand that he wants to make sure his Mom is safe. But it puts us as risk. I know what our answer is (no), but I just don t know how to tell my son. Do you have any advice? I thought about letting her live there and setting ground rules. But having a conversation with her about this won't work. Anyone affected by mental illness understands the unpredictability - one day she's friendly and agreeable, and the next she will threaten to kill you over the same subject (this has happened). I don't think she would really harm us, but her erratic behavior would cause issues in my marriage. So either I say no now, or have to evict her later (she'd never leave willingly). This is good advice. I've glad I posted here. I could put her up in a hotel for a week, or even offer to pay - for one-time only - the deposit and first month rent of a place she finds. That way our son knows that I helped him with his concern. And I'lll still be able to keep boundaries. And Beatrice, that you for your advice too. You are right. I don't need to explain anything is an adult. I think I just needed reassurance because I know it sounds so cold and I know it will upset him. I needed to hear that. Yes, there is a lot of parental guilt. My son is a wonderful man. I wish I would have chosen a better mother for him. You don't think of these things when you are young and in a moment. That's where the guilt comes from - my choices have put him in a situation where he has to be concerned about things other children aren't. I feel, on some level, feel I should bear some of that weight. But thinking positive...without her, he wouldn't be here. I do remind myself of that too. |
Question: How long does it usually take to transition positions at a job? Posted: 13 Mar 2017 07:06 AM PDT Let's say a company offers you a huge opportunity at a different branch, that would require you to move states. What's the fastest I could transition if I'm a kid living at home with his parents and no inhibiting factors for moving? Two to Three weeks? |
Question: What to do if you have proof of your father cheating on your mother? Posted: 13 Mar 2017 06:48 AM PDT I synced my fathers phone so I could check his texts messages. I have proof that my father is cheating on my mother but I don't know what to do. My mom always told me ahe suspected it but I didnt believe it. So to clear my mind about those suspicious I realized Iwas wrong and my mom was right. She doesnt know that I have proof and I honestly dont want to tell her. They have been married for 30 years. There is no physical abuse from them. The sad part is that I lent my father my savings and it turns out he is giving that hoe money. I feel angry and disappointed because he told me he need money |
Question: Why was my daughter acting strange? Posted: 13 Mar 2017 06:15 AM PDT See, she's 5. I'm a single dad, I'm 23. A few nights ago, I had some people over to my apt for a get together ( & no, it was not some reckless rager). Everyone who came over was someone my daughter knows. Usually she's the most social & outgoing in the room, but, forever reason she just sat quietly on the couch. I did check on her frequently. Why was she so withdrawn? Figured this would be in hr wheelhouse, lots of ppl, getting to stay up past bedtime, etc |
Question: Would the baby be my son s half brother or cousin? Posted: 13 Mar 2017 05:17 AM PDT My cheating (ex) husband decided to go out and have sex with my sister. Long story short, her ***** *** got pregnant. I do want to see the baby (Since it s not HIS fault my ex is a piece of ****. He didn t ask to be born.) And hopefully when he s spending time over at my mother s, my little boy can befriend him and hang out, but my question is: To my son, would he be his half brother or cousin? I know he s my nephew, but they both have the same father, so I m very confused. |

Question: My borderline aunt is trying manipulate and ruin my life? Help!? Posted: 13 Mar 2017 02:06 AM PDT My aunt has BPD and so does my mother/her twin sister. My aunt tried to control where I go to college and is still trying to control where I end up living and working after college. She is very manipulative and unstable. My mom is very dependent and close to her and her family since she is unmarried and doesn't have other direct family she relies on. She lets her boss her around and manipulate her with persuasive words. How do I avoid my aunt or being manipulated by her, and stop my mom from being brainwashed or manipulated by her? She scares me, she is really crazy and psychopathic, more so than my BDP mom, who also has issues. Thanks. |
Question: Sister is driving everyone up the wall please help? Posted: 13 Mar 2017 01:53 AM PDT My sister went to New Orleans, 2 years ago and got drugged up which messed up her mind bad. She came back acting all crazy, seeing things, hearing things, and thinking people we're out to get her. Idk if she is possessed or plain crazy, but the doctor ruled her with paranoid schizophrenia. Idk if she is taking her meds or not, but everyone has been trying to get her professional help and she refuses. I'm 32 weeks and can't take the stress anymore! I'm at the place of admitting myself in to the hospital before I go into preterm labor. My bf has forced me to come with him for 2 days just to clear my head because I'm so drained and stressed. Everyday it's drama with her and her husband. Yes, everyday she's into with somebody. Yelling, hollering, and violence somewhere or threats of violence. Yesterday she got into it with her sister in law and a few weeks back her husband in which she slapped him and he called law enforcement . They didn't take her to jail, but they did a psych evaluation on her and advised her to get some profession help. I'm at my witt's and so is my mother. I'm leaving today to be with my bf in hopes of relief. If my doctor knew what was taking place she would admit me in ASAP . The next time she goes off I'm definitely calling ems to get her. Any advice would be great thanks!! |
Question: Does it make me a heartless person not to care that my dad died? Posted: 13 Mar 2017 01:08 AM PDT I'm 17 for as long as I can remember I can't think of one good time I had with my dad. He did nothing but abuse me since I was 4 years old. And people say he's my dad and I should still love him but he wasn't even that he didn't take care of me or buy me anything like clothes or food or any of that all he really did is pay the rent in the house I lived in and beat me up for the smallest things. He was arrested for domestic violence and then he got deported and died. I'm not sad that he's gone I'm just sad that he never changed and I never got to see him be an actual dad to me. But Is it heartless that I don't miss him and I couldn't stand going to his funeral and seeing everyone cry over him |
Posted: 13 Mar 2017 12:36 AM PDT A little back story, my son's father is physically and emotionally abusive though much of it isn't documented in courts. When I became pregnant, he threatened to kill me and my unborn child on multiple occasions to avoid me having the baby. I finally called the police and the state took the case over. He ended up being charged, having to pay finds and do anger management. I had the baby and for the first two months, my mother insisted on trying to get him to see the baby. He finally saw him 1 time and then never again until he was in kindergarten... During this brief period of 2 weeks max, he stressed my son out constantly asking him "why don't you call me daddy?" I used to only allow him to see my son when his mother was present. turns out she there were times when she left my son alone with his dad. One day, I decided to give him a chance and allow him 2 hours of one on one time. When I picked my son up, he literally ran out of the door and would go back in. I asked his dad if everything was okay and he said "yeah, we good." once I got my son in the car, my son told me that his dad had held him down and made him take pictures with him. he said he was playing with his vicars i had sent with him by his self when his dad told him "if you take these pictures, i'll let you go back and play," and then picked him up and wouldn't let go until he took the pics. my son said he took the pics and then ran up the stairs and was waiting for me. after that incident, i decided i'd never leave him with his dad alone again and that we'd have to meet on neutral ground like chucky cheese and we'd all be there together along with my sis and his mom. he never asked to have him come over again. instead, he went to my son's school and took him out of class to take more pictures with him. the school told me my child was very uncomfortable. after that incident, i decided i'd never leave him with his dad alone again and that we'd have to meet on neutral ground like chucky cheese and we'd all be there together along with my sis and his mom. he never asked to have him come over again. instead, he went to my son's school and took him out of class to take more pictures with him. the school told me my child was very uncomfortable. i asked them to document it. I felt he was over board, so I HIRED A LAWYER TO GET A SCHEDULE GOING FOR SUPERVISED VISITATION. HE NEVER RESPONDED. (sorry for caps) now 4 years later, he's asking the court to give him visitation rights. I do not trust him OR his family with our now 8 year old son. I am now applying for sole physical and legal custody because I never did it before due to his absence. i feel like its important to obtain it now. any advice on how to proceed would be appreciated. he is ordered to pay child support but rarely pays and is in the rear over $14k on a monthly $202 payment. I am now married and have my own successful spa business. don't need the money. I have moved on completely from him, but he still causes me anxiety because of his aggressiveness, unpredictable behavior, possessiveness and tendency to use violence or force to get his point across. please help. |
Question: What's the best piece of advice you'd give to a young teenager about life? Posted: 13 Mar 2017 12:05 AM PDT I'm a 16 year old girl and I lost my mother and my dads never around so I've always wondered what my parents would tell me about life if they were still with me. I feel like right now everything is changing and I need to know like what to do and how to handle things like guys always trying to be sexual with me and whether or not it's ok for me to drink and even smoke weed at my age. I just wanna know what I'm supposed to do-no ones ever really told me what's right and wrong for my age. |
Posted: 12 Mar 2017 11:46 PM PDT My family is making fun of me for not having very many friends on facebook and my sister is telling them im a virgin with no girlfriend, lost sleep over it because I was a combination of anxious and angry at the same time because the people who are supposed to love and care about me the most I feel betrayed by because they made me look a little foolish. I almost don't want to be around them anymore, what should I do? I'm not paranoid or anything but it almost feels like sometimes people are out to get me, because the people in a room are seriously trying to drill for my weak points so that they can have something to pick at when they are around me, and it makes me have violent thoughts because the way I see most people are similar to vultures picking at a dead flesh. |
Question: How do I handle a potential abusive relationship that could be going on? Posted: 12 Mar 2017 11:42 PM PDT Im graduating highschool this year and I've literally been counting down the days since junior year. I know the general idea of what I want to do, career wise, but my mom has a different plan for me I guess... Its been my dream since my sophomore year in hs to move to LA after graduation and become a photographer/film director but my mom doesnt want me to. She wants me to stay in my home state and go to school here and she's even tried convincing me to go into a different profession but I haven't changed my mind at all. I only live 17 hours away from LA and already have a room mate for when I move. I have everything down to the time I'm leaving and the stops I'm taking along the way to my apartment there planned out. I just dont have how I'm gonna tell my mom, me, her last child, her babygirl, is moving 17 hours away while my brother and sister and their kids all live within 2 hours of my mom. I want to leave my hometown/state because I'm not happy here and I keep going through the motions and I need some type of disomfort or unordinaryness in my life that actually brings me happiness and I think me moving to LA would do just that... I know that it was either LA or NYC and i chose LA because I love the sun and warmth and its just close enough to home. I dont want to dissapoint or hurt my mom by telling her and I've avoided the college and me leaving topic for a long long time now and I need to find away some how to tell her without being and asshole.... help... please! |
Question: Why hasn't my father came home yet? Posted: 12 Mar 2017 11:14 PM PDT Why hasn't my father came home yet? Yesterday my mother and father got into a quarrel and my father left the house but hasn't came home since this is the longest he was out and away. |
Question: Is there a way a step parent can get custody or guardianship of a step child ? Posted: 12 Mar 2017 10:09 PM PDT I am needing to know if there is a way at all possible for a step-mother to adopt or get custody or guardianship of her stepchild after divorcing the bio father, which the father does not have legal custody through a court. the child is basically her child, she's raised him since practically birth so 2mths I think until now and he's almost 7yrs old, the child doesn't know she's not his bio mom, the bio mom has not been in the picture, the child does not her and I know the situation she is dealing with right now they might be getting divorced soon but I'm not sure how she's deal with losing her "son" she does have her own younger child, which will also crush them if they are separated, because I know their relationship is, and she will be pushing for sole custody no visitation for the father which honestly I'm not against either. And before anyone starts bashing for the possible decision of no father visitation, as the "husband" there has been abuse, mentally/physically/ emotionally he broke her wrist a couple yrs ago, and she has pics of her face arms full of bruises. And as a "father" he sits on the computer the whole time he's home and not at work and if the kids are playing he yells at them to be quiet so he can concentrate and ignores them when they ask him for something including food, he expects her to get their food every single time even when she is sick or beyond tired. |
Question: Mom's BF commented on my butt? Posted: 12 Mar 2017 09:46 PM PDT I'm 18 and live with my mom and her BF and this morning I went to the dryer to get my jeans and underwear out and I was only wearing a Tshirt and didn't realize he was awake and sitting at the kitchen table. I screamed and threw a towel around me and he laughed and said something like "don't worry at least you have a cute bum like your mom" Should I tell her? Was that inappropriate? |

After Physics I wanna go ahead and study Law. I know having a wife is a big responsability but I'm sure I can take care of her since I have a job in the Federal Government. How can I tell my parents of this decision so they approve it? |
Posted: 12 Mar 2017 08:31 PM PDT Although my mother has never physically abused me, she continues to make me feel horrible about myself. Ever since i can remember, me and my mother has never gotten along. She always has to have her way, even if theres screaming and name calling involved. I consider myself a pretty good child, but i have lied before, as all children have done. She continues to hold this over my head, and i have no clue what to do about it. How can i cope with my mother? |

Question: Is this behavior of my mothers abuse or is it normal read below? Posted: 12 Mar 2017 07:30 PM PDT My mother will share anything to us kids with virtually no exceptions. For example she and her dad have a bad relationship and yet I am close to her dad and so she tells her four kids myself included that her dad favors me. She'll say in front of my siblings "I'm glad you got to see your grandfather today but I wish you would have an effort to make a relationship with your brother and sisters also". Another example is she told me that my grandfather, when I was younger, probably is nice to my face but complains about me when I walk out of the room being loud. He does not do this as he's wonderful grandfather but my mom would say he did when I was younger. I am 20 now so that's no longer a risk. Among other stuff she has told me things like that my older stepsister does not love me but it's OK because she does not love anybody (she is an alcoholic an pill addict severely). Or she told my sister that her conception was an accident as the birth-control did not work. It was not set during a fight or anything it was just a normal conversation. She is otherwise a very good mother but I'm just wondering if this way of being blunt like this is abuse especially the stuff about telling my siblings that their grandfather doesn't want to relationship with them but only does to me which of course is a lie is he's a good man. She is better at her dad because of her parents divorce so I'm assuming that's why she's using my siblings like that. Sorry if there are grammor errors, I was talking into my phone (I=Phone) |

Question: Emotional abuse help? Posted: 12 Mar 2017 06:59 PM PDT I am a younger tween who is being abused. Don't say on here "you're too young to be in here" I didn't come here to be told that. My mother constantly belittles me and puts me down. She comments on my body in an innaporpriate way, as such grabbing my but and humiliating me. She denies claims and tries to blame me. It has gotten severe. Is there any way to fix this? |

Posted: 12 Mar 2017 06:53 PM PDT My brother just turned 30. He makes good money, just paid off his car, almost all his student loans, and is now saving for a downpayment on a house. Nine months ago he started dating this girl. She just turned 23 a few months ago, she works at a cafe, doesn't drive and really doesn't have much going for her. She is nice, kind of pretty, but definitely not someone any of our family thought he'd date, never mind for nine months. I'm not the only one who sees it, or commented on it, but the relationship seems really one sided. He is taking it slow, at her pace. He pays for most of the dates, he even co-signed for a car for her. I wouldn't' doubt he is footing the bill for it too. I just don't like her. To clarify: She doesn't have a license, which is the reason my brother co-signed. He wants her to have a reliable vehicle so she can get her license. |
Question: How do I deal with Mom's boyfriend smoking weed? Posted: 12 Mar 2017 06:53 PM PDT This guy smokes weed in the house and I hate it. I hate all of it, his coughing (loud) and the smell! I have to close my damn door so no weed smell goes into my room. Not only that, but my older brother smokes it, too. I hate the smell mostly. My two younger brothers don't seem to mind, but they are both pretty young, like 5 and 12, so I would think they'd be bothered by it but..no. Anyway, I'm a bit uncomfortable talking about it with him, since I'm uncomfortable with him, probably because we never talk. Same with my brother...so tell me what to do? I don't wanna call anyone...I just want advice on what I could do to avoid it. Thank you. :) |
Question: My brother is 30 years old & is an alcoholic & still lives with our parents HELP PLEASE!? Posted: 12 Mar 2017 06:12 PM PDT So my brother is 30 years old and still lives at home. My relationship with him is not so good. Maybe its cuz he is 7 years older than me. We don t talk much although we live in the same house...we re just not so close. He also drinks very often, he often skips work. Yes he has a job...but my biggest problem is that he is very mean to our parents, when my mom asks him to clean after himself he NEVER does it, he even doesn t clean the toilet after himself.. he s a pig ! When my mom confronts him about his drinking problems he just yells back at her i find it VERY dissrespectfull ! My dad tried talking to him too and it didn t work ...he s a very quiet person but when he drinks he starts to say things like : noone ever cares about him, and he never had anything no money no nothing (which is not true cuz my parents ALWAYS gave us everything we needed and we had a normal childhood) ... Even when he s not drunk he s mean to my mom he tells her to shut up even when she s talking normally with him..and he tells her to go away from him and just mean stuff like this ! This has been going on for 2 years now ! He acts like he s a 15 year old child and not a 30 year old grown man!! I really can t take this anymore and I m afraid it will even get worse, I ve told my mom to kick him out of the house but I think she s scared that he will hurt himself... or even hurt my mom or dad... Is there anything I could do??! |
Question: I think my dad tried to kill me a couple of times. What do you think? Posted: 12 Mar 2017 05:53 PM PDT My mum and dad where never married, they just had me and I m a only child. My dads known for being a **** person and when my mum died when I was 8 he moved in. I m allergic to penicillin. At about 13 my dad was going on and on how this blue cheese had a lot of penicillin in it. I eat blue cheese all the time it s my favourite. It just sounded weird. That night for some reason he just made tomato soup for dinner. He s a really good cook and that s the only time he s done that, with a side of the blue cheese he was talking about. He kept telling me to try it while I was having soup. While eating cheese and soup my whole face and throat swelled up and I found it hard to breath for hours. I then found the same cheese a couple years later, tried it and I was fine. So I m thinking he crushed penicillin tablets in the soup to try kill me. Mainly because I own my mums million dollar house with no mortgage would be the reason why. About a year after that I woke up one morning and I couldn t swollow. For a whole week and it was very painful. My dad refused to take me to the doctor and I had to drink food through straws for a whole 8 days. Thinking back now I m suspicious why he didnt want me to go to the doctor over something preety serious. That s all. We don t get along now I m not really close with him anymore but what do you guys think? |
Question: How do you explain this? Posted: 12 Mar 2017 05:49 PM PDT Mom is constantly picking fights with me and being rude and nasty. Dad is in complete denial. Comes to her defense every time, refuses to admit to how she's behaving. I'm always the bad one, has always been that way in my nearly 25 years on earth. Do you consider this abuse? |
Question: How to change the way I feel about this? Posted: 12 Mar 2017 05:45 PM PDT So I'm at a ski trip with four other families. The house we're staying at has a four bed bunk room which works perfect because there are four of us teenage girls who need privacy against the seven boys lol. But when we showed up one of the families that got here before us said the boys were sleeping in the bunk room. Now I'm kinda upset because 1. I am a teenage girl and I really wanted somewhere to go to stay away from the boys and 2. When skiing I get sore easily so I want a nice comfy bed that will help me. A couch bed won't do it. I tried telling my mom this stuff but she said I was being a brat and needed to suck it up. What would you do in my spot? Would trying to drop a hint about it be easier? Or should I man up and stop? |
Posted: 12 Mar 2017 05:45 PM PDT He says he doesn't want to continue his ministry alone and needs a helpmate. He misses his wife terribly. His fiancee is a widow and lives alone. My husband and I are cool with it, but other family members are saying he didn't wait long enough. |
Question: My Mom is a bad role model. How do I break the bad habits she taught me? Posted: 12 Mar 2017 05:43 PM PDT She taught me to find someone to bully behind their back as your "scapegoat". For her it was my Dad (she'd divorced him). Now as an adult I go through scapegoats to destroy the reputation of. Problem is it is not very Christian but like with an addiction I don't know how to live without it. Right now my Mom is my scapegoat (karma). How do I break this habit she taught me? |
Posted: 12 Mar 2017 05:41 PM PDT Any secret, I know it thanks to my mother's big mouth. |
Question: Why did friends mum purposely mock me? Posted: 12 Mar 2017 05:40 PM PDT I went for dinner at a friends house and her mum said when we were at the dinner table "that's an interesting surname you have there... how do you spell it?" It starts with BO and as soon as I started to spell it they both started laughing at me. She kept going on about how unusual my name is and where it had originated from. I found it very personal and uncomfortable at the table, especially when they started to laugh. Anyone have a clue what her motive was? |
Posted: 12 Mar 2017 05:24 PM PDT I was doing my homework today and my mom accused me of using my homework as an excuse to not do other things (go shopping with her). i told her that it wasnt true, but she insisted that I was and had frequently been lying about my workload. When i asked her for examples, she wouldn't give them. I got mad at her and said she doesn't have any proof. She yelled at me and drowned my voice out before leaving the house because she "needed to get away from me". I was very mad that she didn't even bothered to listen to what I have to say, instead, it felt like she just chose to run away. I got mad and threw a plate on the ground. now she's back home and she won't mention the argument that we had. Instead, she accuses me of having aggressive tendencies. She's threatening to psychologically evaluate me and force me to drop out of the gifted program at my school because she's blaming my outburst on "too much stress at school". I dont see how this is possible as I maintain a 4.0 gpa and am on an varisty sport team. so i guess my question is : am i really as bad as my mom is making me sound like? |
Question: Girls who can drive would you have done this? Posted: 12 Mar 2017 05:06 PM PDT I just got home from picking up my sister at her friends house. Since I did not go in anyplace and came right back home I drove barefoot and did not bring my shoes. |
