My mom, her dad, and her sister are all alcoholics. My mom died from it when I was six. My dad will not let me speak to her family since and I'm now 15. How do I get them to see that being an alcoholic is not as dangerous as being a pedophile like my step mom's brother is. I'm allowed to see him though obviously supervised so I don't get why they can't let me do the same with my real mom's family. I'm only average, not clever and my older sister is the one with the brains and goes to a grammar school, I'm just at a normal school. Things break and hes comes up with the craziest ideas to fix them. Pretty much everything in this house has something wrong with it. She goes to college and I'm still at school as she's the year above me. She text me yesterday lunchtime saying I hope you've brought a change of clothes from school uniform as she had arranged for us to get our hair cut together at her college and booked the appointment after school time. Her text said to get a different bus straight into town and where and what time to meet. She didn't show up. I spent 2 hours ringing her trying to get through and couldn't and then tried her home phone lots of times and no answer there. I was literally wandering around the college and then town and on my own in the dark for hours. Then my mum rang me saying she had rang our home phone asking to speak to me and my mum said no she's with you isn't she?! So then she rang me and said the appointment got cancelled so she just came home and didn't have any credit to ring me.... 4 months ago my mom caught my dad in our basement with other people doing something illegal. My mom kicked them out and my dad was acting strange, he couldnt walk properly and he wasnt thinking straight. My mom and I went down to the basement and we found some candles and some foil. Me and my mom talked to my dad and he admitted that he was doing drugs but it wasnt that harsh he said he uses it to boost his body to help him eat more but we didnt believe that at all. My mom brought my dad to a rehab center but they said my dad didnt need it cuz it wasnt that bad yet. He stopped for a bit but I know he never stopped. He goes home from work at 9 pm and he stays up till 2 am and its not normal for a person after a long time from work to stay up that late cuz he should be going to sleep, . So today I was testing out a new tripod for videomaking when my phone slipped out of the side and smashed onto the floor. I am from a successful family and live in Northern Virginia. If I wanted to go to 4 year college I would be able to but I don't want to. I know college is important but it's impossible living with my parents. I am priveledged enough to love for free I only have to pay a monthly fee of 200 dollars to them as long as I go to school. I'm 14, and like your cliché teenager (and also because I'm always home) I spend most of my time on the internet. Our family computer has been broken for years, and I guess my parents never put the funds towards fixing it, so often times my dad has taken my computer claiming to be typing rent certificates/eviction notices. When I come out of my room to get something to snack on/drink or get my computer, I so often see him on porn websites, in boxers and a t shirt or in a robe, completely ******* naked under. It's ridiculous, disgusting and all around not okay. I can't look/speak to him the same, as he makes me completely uncomfortable and I avoid him at all costs. My mom doesn't like the fact that I've had girlfriends before but she allows me but she doesn't want to see them or hear about them. My grandmother BLACKMAILS ME that's right.If I don't do something she wants, loan her money or if she's in a bad mood she tells my mom that she caught me and my gf kidding got some **** what to do about it

Yes we all live under the same house. My mom hates me and we can't get along. When I talk to my sister my mom will start yelling and not let me talk to her. This feels like prison. And I don't have a dad. I have an uncle but I really don't want to talk to him and I hate everything! I'm 17 by the way..,and please don't tell me to move out next year (our family is on welfare) so I can't ..I don't have the money. I just really want one good friend and for things to be better. My mom doesn't let me talk to my sister and there is nothing I can do!!

I hope that I don't sound like a rebellious teenager but here it goes.... All my life my parents have been super strict but I've only started to notice it now (I'm a sophmore in High School) I have a social life at school but it ends there. My friends think I'm strange because I'm never available to hang out outside of school. If I'm not home as soon as I get out from school, and on the weekends and breaks my parents insist that I study the entire day (Literally from 9 A.M. to 7 P.M.) I know they want the best for me, but I also know that I don't want my childhood to be spent studying. Also I'm an Indian raised in the U.S., and my parents insist that all my friends be Indian and they believe that people from other races are all bad influences. Obviously, I'm not as racist as them so I try to keep a variety, but my parents always invade my privacy trying to see who my friends at school are. When they see me messaging on my phone they get extremely angry and my dad even took my phone and broke it once. I want to please them, but I dont want to live like this either. What should I tell them?

Question: My brother is a felon and my parents dont tell anyone. How can I spread word so others dont expect anything from him and know to avoid him?

I'm 17, my mom is 60.. She is always nervous and angry. Whenever we talk there is a lot of tension. There is no way to get her to stop screaming, "talking about it" doesn't work with her and neither will writing a letter. She is very cold. Every little thing makes her angry. If I close the door she says I slam it and there's no way for me to defend myself. She makes a whole big deal I have so many problems with her going I don't even know where to start. Today I was cleaning the basement and organized like one or two things (it was a silly rearrangement) she was screaming 2 hours after that and I was like calm down nothing happened and she called me a bi*ch prostitute, idiot, and said I should get married and do whatever the hell I wanted with my life. I don't talk to anyone or have any socialness, just my mom who doesn't care about me too much. Isn't your mom the one person in the world who should? I need the love a lot but I don't get it. She only tells everyone about her problems and no one cares. Instead, they tell her to stop yapping about them and start actually doing something to resolve the problem! But she doesn't do anything and the whole house is a mess. I tell her to do something and she doesn't want to and when I do something she doesn't like it. So I guess I just have to deal with my house being a mess. When I talk to my sister, my mom doesn't let. She tells me to stop talking and starts screaming again when I start talking again

My mother is evil. I don't know what's wrong with her. For as long as I can remember she has always tried to hurt me in some way. This has gotten worse since I've started going to high school. She punches me, slaps me, calls me names like ugly, nasty, useless, as well as other things I can't remember at the moment. She also says things like she wishes I be homeless, she wants my kids to suffer, and she's threatened to kill me and chop up my body. She's also said she would try and get me locked up in a mental institution. She says she'll do her best to ruin my life because "she brought me into the world and will destroy my life." Todayshe called me ugly, and when I said I wasn't she started punching me and threatening to call the cops on me. She even called my dad to tell him I tried to fight her when I didn't. Now they're threatening to kick me out of the house because I was trying to attack my mother. Help?
