She comes every other weekend to visit her dad.. when she is here I go out of my way to have her favorite foods stocked in the refrigerator and she gets full run of the tv. All I ask is that she keeps her dishes washed and her room clean. We have a set of twin 17 months, so I basically just ask her not to make more work. She doesn't do what I ask she throws her dirty dishes in the sink and even sometimes keeps her dishes in the living room. She yells and throws tantrums if me and her dad doesn't do exactly what she asks or wants to do.This Saturday she started banging on the wall after I got my twins to sleep as they share a wall she woke them up. Her dad wouldn't let her have the car because she was grounded for skipping school. I told her to stop and that she was going to be grounded longer. She said "you are not my mom you cant ground me, you are my dads new witch. except what she said started with a B." I slammed the door and went to my room and cried....I told my husband this and he said she is just being difficult ignore her and it will get better, she is just going through the fact her parents are divorce. They have been divorced 6 years now. They both just coddle she skips school, steals cars, and takes money and credit cards from her mom without permission..she is out of control I cant do this anymore.. I dont know what to do...how do I handle this without overstepping my bounds since my husband refuses to do anything...I cant have her acting like this in my home.

so last night I was on my macbook chatting with friends & playing games with them. I didn't know I was being too loud. my sister in the other room kept knocking from te wall about 3 times but I wasn't sure what it was. I didn't know it was her but if I did I would've been quieter. then she walked into my room and told me to shut the laptop off... i was like why can't I just be more quiet. & she just told me to turn it off. when she left my room I still had to stay on to say bye to my friends and exit the game. but during the process of turning my comp off she came in again and just took it away & I was just like wtf. today she hid my laptop under the bed and I took it back. then when she came home she snatched it again. I asked her why she had to take it away & she said I was being too loud that night. But I said I didn't know it was her knocking on the wall for me to be quiet. & she cut me off and yelled that it doesn't matter.. How does it not matter?? if I figured it was her knocking, then I would have been quiet. & I had headphones not knowing I was loud + I was just giggling. I asked how long is she taking it away, she said doesn't matter. C'mon it was only that one night I was more noisy. She's so irritating, when I'm in the middle of trying to sleep she'll walk in & turn the light on to get her facial crap to the bathroom. Or play loud snapchats. or play music etc.

My dad has been unemployed for a while and has been submitting applications for the past few months. This morning, he asked me how I would feel if we moved to a certain city, which is 2000 miles (not an exaggeration) away from where we are now. I asked him why and he said that he got offered a job out there and it's his if he wants it. My mother could also easily get a job out there, and my siblings are in college so they don't live with us anyways. I don't really like my town that much, but I do have some concerns about moving so far away: I have always had a hard time making friends, and I only have a core group of them that all live within 10 minutes of my house. At my age two it is weird to be the new kid because of friends groups like mine that have been so clearly defined for so long I am in running for captain of my high school's lacrosse team and will lose that position that I have worked so hard for. I also on one of the best ranked club teams in the country, and there is no club team close enough to the city I would be moving to. My team also helps with the college commitment process, and would have to stop working with me if I moved so far away. I also have only ever lived one place my entire life, and it is a very small suburban town, and I'm terrified of moving so far away to such a big city. Has anybody else been in this situation? How did you handle the move? CONTINUED I would also have to leave my job, and we have no family anywhere near the city. The closest relatives we have are 1500 miles away.

My family is white Brazilian. I went to university in Canada and my soon studies English, so we're fluent in both English and Portuguese. My son is 17, and really into football, and I think he's quite good, and I watch him play as much as I can. I was watching him play today in a public ground on an amateur team, and just enjoying the game right by the touchline. At one point, my son made a really bad tackle on a dark-skinned player, and got shown a red card (fair call). As he was walking off, right by the touchline, he leaned over and called the dark guy a racist term in Portuguese. I've never heard my son be racist, and was left absolutely shocked. The teen he insulted spun my son around my the shoulder and slapped him, hard, across the face. Not just once. He grabbed my son by the hair and told him never to dare repeat that, and gave him four hard smacks across his left cheek. I was stood right there, and I didn't even move. I thought my son deserved every one of those slaps, and it was the other boys who broke them up and saved my boy more punishment. That I saw it happen added to his humiliation, which I don't mind, since the slaps won't hurt him after an hour or so, but he'll remember never to do that again. I told him he would go and apologise to the boy tomorrow, and that he deserved the slaps. Is that too harsh?

I live with my grandparents and they're very old fashioned. They don't let me leave the house unless I'm with one of them (can't even talk to my friends without them telling me that friends are useless. my 15 year old little brother is autistic, and he has a super intense fear of anything he perceives as having "chemicals" because he thinks they're dangerous or that he'll inhale them. for example he won't use bug spray, hand sanitizer, hairspray, or cleaning products and gets upset and freaks out if anyone else uses them around him. it's completely irrational, too - he'll swim in a pool with chlorine, but afterwards won't even touch his swimsuit after taking it off because it has chlorine on it. he only started getting like this a couple months ago and it's only gotten worse. i want to know if there's any way i can help him get over it and tell him stuff like that won't hurt him? it gets really annoying, he won't even touch anyone's hand if they recently used a wet wipe or hand sanitizer...

My sisters being such a brat! I honestly have no idea what to do. I have to babysit my 9-year-old sister practically everyday because of my mom and dad's work schedules, and I believe she has some serious spoiled issues. I am 15 and my brother is 20. He still lives in our parents house and attends a community college. My brother has had anger issues since he was in his junior year of high school. That year he changed. He used to be this shy but happy child that annoyed me but I still knew he loved me. Junior year, he got into drugs, started selling them, skipping classes, failing classes, etc. With this he developed some serious anger issues. He began talking back to my parents, smashing things, throwing things, and getting angry when things didn't go his way. Fast forward a few years later and it is still happening. He's having trouble passing his community college classes and refuses to get a tutor. This morning, I was home alone with him and he began smashing holes into the wall, screaming, throwing stuff, and for what? Because the printer wouldn't work. I am genuinely scared of my brother and I'm currently in my room crying because I don't know why he does this. I've prayed for him so many times but nothing helps. I'm in fear that one day he will get super angry and end up doing something terrible. One time when I was younger, like 9, he got angry at me and pushed me into the wall and almost broke one of my teeth so I know he's capable. My life has been crazy start to now. My dad has been to prison about 6 times in my life because of alcohol, I was conceived on my mom and dad s honey moon and when I was born, he wasn t there, probably getting drunk and when my sister was born, he was in prison. He is a sex offender for sexual assault on a 23 year old so I m pretty sure I have other siblings out there because I know that isn t his only victim. He was on probation for nine years and you d think that he wouldn t drink after his probation is up but he did. I was 11 years old and it was a Monday and he was suppose to take us to school but instead he held us captivate against our will and his probation was up around that time and he was drinking and I will always remember when he almost killed us, drinking and driving and the smell of beer in his breath when he told us he loved me and my sister. Then he went to prison for two years then he came out and I m fourteen now, I ve seen him twice and he must of said those "I love you" words which are actually "please forgive me I here now" about ten times. He s on probation and I haven t said I love you to him yet which is "I forgive you now" I want to wait until he is out of probation which is when I m about 16 and I don t think I ll forgive him then. Should I do it before? Because I m sure he ll go back to prison after probation. He is an alcoholic.

After my grandparents died my mother's side of the family has not wanted anything to do with me other then being cordial if they see me somewhere. None of the weddings have they asked us to and holidays I miss. I know from my cousins Facebook that the rest of the family gathers. We see my Dad and step-mother's families but not my mothers. My mother died from anorexia and addiction diseases when I was 10 and she was never real close to her siblings. I tried hosting something as I am 22 but only one aunt showed up and not a single cousin. My Dad was an only child and his parents have died. So the only extended family is my step-mother's family and they are nice but it is not the same as real family. So how do I overcome this? It is especially painful at holidays. I used to seek them out but they were uncomfortable and I think felt I was stalking them. So I gave up after high school other then trying to host this party last year at the holidays where just the one aunt showed up. How do I get over this hurt? I think the reason is they link me to my mother though she has been dead for 12 years as my mother had mood problems due to her anorexia and drug use.

I got caught smoking pot by my mom for the third time, to get out of trouble I told her i have an addiction. He is rude, disrespectful, never wants to help me out around the house. He's lazy and on his days off work, he just sits around the house and plays on Facebook. He only works about 15-20 hours a week at his job because it's slow due to the summer time. He's always moody and irritable. He goes off for hours at a times sometimes. Sometimes he even goes off at 10 at night on his days off work to hang out with friends and comes back around midnight. He's quiet but I can still hear him. But I get up and ask him where he's been and who he's hanging out with. He tells me that I am too nosy and need to let him do his own thing. He never brings people over or anything and he said it's because I make him feel weird about having friends. He also spends hours sitting in his bedroom because he said he needs private time. He does do his laundry and dishes but I still yell at him about because he doesn't do it in a timely manner. Then he gets mad at me about it. He and his father get great and so do he and his Nana (his dad's mom). But he's not like that with me. All we do is argue and he's always rude to me. He hasn't done well with college and is starting with HVAC training next month. I want him to move out and he said he is also tired of living at home. I am 36 and my husband is 42. We have been trying to have a child of our own for 8 years..after 8 miscarriages and failed IVF we have decided to adopt. My 18 year old niece is pregnant and doesn't want the baby because she knows she is financially and mentally not ready. My husband and I are both Engineers. He works as a professor at a university and I work for a company. We are financially set to have a kid and ready. However, we fear that this decision will have consequences in the future. My husband is worried this will disconnect him from his brother (my nieces dad) and his family. He also fears when she gets older and is somewhat around the child her feelings might change...however, we want a child and we want to give a child our love and support. This one is also blood kin to my husband which makes my husband and I want to take the child more as we feel a blood bond to protect it. However we would love and cherish any child. I have many issues. I was anorexic, I have borderline personality disorder, a stomach disorder, a heart infusion, severe depression, and possibly bipolars disorder. I try so so hard, to the point of stabbing myself, holding my breath, and locking myself up just to control myself because I can't and it frustrates me to no end. My dad fully blames me and is starting to truly hate me. My mental illness has always caused me to feel suicidal when I'm having a meltdown but now even when I'm perfectly calm, I crave to die. To not worry or feel anymore. I was bullied all my life, my mother was abusive which does not make her a bad mother just broke many times then she promised to never again hurt me but a year later after many heart to hearts and a close relationship she did. There is a small part of me that wants to live, at this point it's tiny. When I have a meltdown I need my mother, she is the only one who used to love me. But she never stays with me when I need help not feeling suicidal but she leaves me. She leaves me and I can't help but feel abondoned. She knows I hold resentment for hitting me. My dad also hit me twisting my ankle, bruising my shoulder, and never apologized. I love my mom but these meltdowns are absolutely terrible, I do embarrassing terrible things and I fear this time I just caused my parents to fight too badl and my mom will never forgive me. What do I do?

My grandpa wants to drive all the way to Maryland from Georgia and stay there for a month and everyone is trying to pressure me to go with him so that it's safer. There are a few reasons why I don't want to go. I NEED to make money and prepare to move out as soon as possible. I am in a crowded house sharing a room with my mom. I just want to make someo money so I can get out of here and live with my boyfriend and my cat (who my dad is holding onto). The second reason is the fact that my grandpa drives like a crazy person. I was almost killed in an accident that HE caused by driving recklessly. Also when he drove the rest of the family to Florida he drove very dangerously on the highway and we were all terrified but never spoke up because he would only get angry and drive even more like a maniac. I haven't given a clear answer to if I'm going to Maryland or not yet. I felt guilty for possibly not going with him and him going alone. He is slightly disabled from having a stroke a few years ago. But I'm only 23. Why should I ride for 8 hours with someone who is an unsfae driver just because he's family? What if I die? Also I don't want to delay me moving out of this crowded place.. Actually I did say no a while ago and now they are asking me AGAIN!! He owns a house by the bay up there so is I don't go he would be alone the whole time. He does know the neighbors up there. But the phone service there is weak. If he falls down the stairs or something else goes wrong he might not be able to call for help and no one would know about it. I'll mention taking a bus but idk if he'll go for it

I feel like a bum, still living with my mom, but I don't know how to let go. I didn't go to University, so I never got to experience living on my own even for a little bit. Growing up with no father and no siblings, my mom was all I had, and I still feel like I can't do anything without her. I turn 22 in the Fall and I feel like a loser. I recently lost my job so that makes it even worse, and all the places I'm applying for just want part time workers and I want full time. I want to move out SO bad but I could never afford it, at least not now, but I want to get a job with an airline soon and plan on trying until I get on. Anyone else in my situation? Or have been? What can I do to stop feeling so lousy and worthless? There are some 18 year olds more independent than me.

He says I lied to him about being on birth control but I wasn't lying to him. I asked my doctor how the pregnancy happened and she said that because I was taking antibiotics for something else at the time it caused my birth control to fail.....I tried explaining this to him but he is still claiming I tricked him into a pregnancy....he said I owe him and I have to get an abortion. My mother is a money saving kind of person. She will never buy anything that's expensive. She saves money and is always looking for discounts and coupons. My dad, on the other hand spends money. He doesn't really care if it's expensive or not. If he likes it, he will buy it. Recently, my dad went to the mall and bought a pair of Nike shoes that was on sale for like $120.00. It was orginially $200.00 something. Because it was on sale, there was a size 10 left so my dad bought it anyways even though he wears a size 8.5-9. My mom found the shoes and returned it because she said it was expensive and my dad wears a size 8.5 not 10. She secretly returned it without my dad knowing. My dad was trying to find the shoes last night and my mom said she returned it. My dad got mad and even told me that he's going to divorce my mother. Hey guys, im in high school at the moment and my sister is going to university (really far away) in less than a month. My sister is really really entertaining and cheerful all the time. She always seems to pick out the right topics during dinner that entertains the whole family and keeps us talking. I am a very anxious person who sometimes enjoy spending time alone because I dont feel obligated to think of interesting topics to talk about and to entertain the person I am with. My parents are right now not really good with each other. My mom went to Europe a few weeks ago and before she left, she got into a fight with my dad because my mom returned my dad's shoes. My dad got mad because she never told him so they haven't been talking ever since. While my mom is at Europe, she would almost FaceTime me everynight and we would just talk. Since she's in a fight with my dad, she would ask me what my dad is doing and other stuff like that. Today I'm going to Florida with my dad. My dad is visiting this woman who he calls his "friend". She's been a good student. (e.g. Teachers like her because she's the one of a few students that submit assignment timely.) Now, she stays in her room all day, which seems common for teens. What she is doing is - makeup (even though she doesn't go out!) - doing hair - go to social media on smartphone or tablet *most of the time listening music with earphone.
